This company caters for our company. I usually eat more asian food than american or non asian food. I would definitely say what they offer definitely do not cater to asians. the company i work at probably pays a subsidy for the employees' lunches and in turn they collect a reduced fee from the employees. Our company probably also tells them what to feed us. They are on site for daily lunches and dinners. Their food is usually dry. Chicken breast, salmon. Due to COVID-19, our company uses Cosmopolitan Catering to provide free-lunches to onsite employees. We are getting cold lunches (either sandwich or wrap) 3 days and hot lunches 2 days per week. For cold lunches, wrap may be a little better than sandwich. I don't know how early they prepare the foods, but the breads are usually soggy owing to all the wet/oiled ingredients when the food is delivered. Sometimes, it is not edible ... I wish they check how their sandwich would look/taste a few hours after it is prepared in vinyl wrap. For hot lunches, some menus are way too greasy. I understand that the quality of foods cannot be the same as the ones prepared right at the order (such as Subway) because vast amount of foods are prepared within a short period of time. But they need to do more research on the menus and preparation methods considering that the foods will be served a few hours later. read more

I have to say that Cosmo Catering is by far a diamond in the rough. They offer AMAZING food with great service that fits anyone's budget. I actually interviewed with the company for a position and when I was given a tour of the kitchen and offices I noticed how clean everything was. The kitchen was HUGE and well put together. I also really enjoyed how everyone got along so well. I ended up getting a job at a different company, and it was one of my duties to plan an event. My boss told me that she wanted to look into getting the event catered. Right away, I knew who to call. With the experience that I received just with interviewing with the company I knew that Cosmo catering was going to provide my current employer with amazing service. My boss and I dealt with Nancy over the phone. She was able to listen to all of our needs/wants and come up with a great menu/plan. When the food arrived they set up everything so nicely and it was very presentable. But the food... Oh Em Gee! AMAZING! I constantly received compliments on how this company was a great find and the food was superb! I am happy to say that we will definitely use Cosmo Catering for our future events if we have more. We had Cosmo Catering for our wedding. As other reviewers have said, almost all of our guests really enjoyed the food - especially the beef brisket. That was a crowd favorite, for sure! The tasting in the beginning of the process was really fun - they set you up at a table and serve the food to you, as if you are in a restaurant. We got to bring a few people from our wedding party, to get their opinion on the food as well. All of the staff was really nice and professional. The food we got on that day was the same as we got at the wedding, and it was just as good as we remembered. We had passed appetizers, and I can't say enough good things about the chain tacos....super delish. They were very helpful and flexible throughout the process, and made sure the event was smooth and what we wanted. The only reason we didn't give them the full five stars was because, we bought our own alcohol (which they served). The count at the end seemed to be a bit off - not sure where some of the excess went... But, overall, great food, great service, a strong recommendation. read more

Cosmopolitan catering recently did an event for us in our offices for 140 people. We did a finger food/appetizer spread and it was great. The set up team was very professional and did all the work. I loved how they coordinated the linens with the colors in our new office. The only issue we had was the clean up crew arriving an hour late. I had to call them to find out what was going on. The clean up crew was apologetic and obviously felt bad about the situation. She hurried and got out as fast as she could. Overall I great experience! read more

Jake and his kitchen staff put a great deal of effort into creating delicious appetizers and entrees. My favorite thing was to sample the different appetizers that were making their way around the room.... everything was layered with flavor and well thought out. I just booked Cosmopolitan Catering for an event on 10/4 and it was absolutely spectacular!!! I will make this a long spiraling review if I don't organize, so here goes: Quote The quote process was a little tricky at first because my quote was given to a senior associate who had zero interest in taking care of the event if the price was not at a certain level (she also tried to blame the person who initially took my information, telling me she was a new hire and thus was mistaken in that they'd be able to quote me). I balked at this and then received help from Christie T and her manager, who were ridiculously amazing!! Christie was with me every step of the way, suggesting great food combinations, offering advice and working with me on the price. I'll have more events in the future and I'm soooo relieved to have a partner in crime to help! Setup The setup was easy and perfect. Two servers attended, Arturo and I can't remember the other person's name, but they were both incredibly professional and just wonderful. They worked with the club owner to set up the food in the best place possible! Food Oh man, I can't even . . . thinking about it is actually making me hungry. I'm a foodie, so I'm not even going to attempt to minimize the feedback: Sausage and Peppers - Sooooo amazing, super tender diagonally cut sausage and peppers, the whole group loved them. I don't know where they get their meats from, but they need to keep it up! Mini Mushrooms - I didn't really try these, but others did and seemed to enjoy Artichoke & bacon dip - AMAZING! An absolute must have. I saw people piling HUGE amounts of the dip on their bread slices and going back over and over. Cosmo skirt steak - I don't know what incredible thing they did to this beef, but instead of skirt steak it tasted like filet mignon (and SEVERAL people told me that). The flavor was incredible, and so tender, it melted from the skewer. They also had these perfect heirloom tomatoes on it, oh man, geez Thai chicken satay - I know what you're going to say, people always have these and they are dry and stringy and awful. Not these, they were incredible. Super tender and when I asked what people preferred, the steak or chicken, no one had a clear answer. They just turned around and went back for more (instead of answering me!) Thai Noodle salad - Soooo good and the crowd loved them. Noodle salad in small takeout cups with chop sticks coming out of them (that were tied at the top with a red ribbon). I saw many people walking around with them! This was an item I was going to omit, as I thought it was too casual for my semi-formal event. Christie T suggested I keep it and man was she right. They were yummy and added a "center piece" feel to the food Garden Fresh Crudite & Chocolate Fondue - I'll put these together and just say they were awesome. Beautifully presented with lots of options (lots of veggies and tons of stuff for the fondue), just awesome. Take down This was easy! The servers let me know when they were going to take it down and then did so efficiently and without mess. I would also like to say that they re-filled the food without me even noticing! Not sure how, but they were wonderful. So I wish I could find something lukewarm to say, just so others won't think it's a fake review, but I just don't have anything bad to say! The food and service was just incredible (and I was serving this to people who eat 5-star food every day for their breakfast, lunch and dinner at work!) I can't say enough wonderful things about Cosmo Catering. First of all, their food is absolutely fantastic! Everyone, and I really do mean everyone said that our food was the best they'd had at a wedding. We had a Kobe Beef carving station, risotto bar, wine and cheese pairing station, ahi tuna, passed apps and the list goes on and on! The food we sampled at our tasting was exactly the way it tasted at our wedding. I don't know how they pulled it off, but ecstatic that they did! Our wedding was a bit out of the ordinary... my husband and I decided to have a party/cocktail hour setting for our wedding vs. a formal (aka, stuffy) sit down dinner. They were very accommodating and really worked with us to ensure everything was exactly how we imagined. As though that wasn't enough, they really served as my second wedding planner (but I actually think they did more!). They worked with the winery to make sure each food station was paired with a complimenting wine, they came with me on appointments to choose linens, plates, furniture rentals, etc and also did my lighting at the venue. They truly transformed the beautiful winery into a hip, loungy setting fit for mingling and dancing and most of all, fun! I am the receptionist at DC Electronics in San Jose. I was given an opportunity to pick the food for our annual Christmas Party (300 employees) We have a variety of cultures here at DC Electronics so it makes it hard to please. Rick Angelini, Sales Rep at Cosmopolitan assured me their food and service would be good. We had Buffet style, Beef Brisket, Marinated Chicken, Roasted Red Potatoes, Roasted Vegi Melody, Salad and Butternut Squash Ravioli. They decorated the work benches so beautifully you did not know it was a work bench. Our VP of Ops said I had hit it out of the park, which means Cosmopolitan Catering hit it out of the park. They made me look really good. Everyone LOVED the food. I received many compliments with choosing Cosmopolitan Catering. Also, many of our employees directly told the caterers that the food and service was awesome. I will use again, they are local the food was mouth watering and tasty. I share the same experience as many others have already shared, unfortunately. However, in my case the corporate benefit is not free meals but rather a meal available for purchase at a "subsidized" price. Even if it was free, though, I'd likely pass (as others have mentioned in their reviews). The food is often cooked improperly and at times folks have gotten sick from the food. Commonplace issues are overcooked or undercooked meat, bland vegetables, and inconsistent service. I will say that some of the service staff at my location have tried their best to provide a good experience but they don't have control over the food itself since it is cooked offsite at a commissary kitchen, I believe. I would highly advise consideration of other catering services instead of hiring Cosmopolitan. read more

They used to cater lunches and dinners at a startup company I worked at, back in 2013. The food then wasn't great: the meat tended to be overcooked and the vegetables were always some variation on zucchini, squash, and eggplant. Their salad bar was pretty good though. Then we switched to Zero Cater and then a subsequent other caterer. Zip forward 2 years to 2015, and my new company recently swapped from getting restaurant catering delivered by Zero Cater and At Work Services to catering exclusively by Cosmopolitan Catering. I'm happy to say that their food quality has GREATLY improved! In fact, I would venture to say that this food is cafeteria quality, which is a compliment since they make it in such large batches. They have a really good chicken tinga and their pork chile verde is SO tasty. I like the fact that their chefs aren't afraid to use spices to add flavor, rather than just fat. And the selection of dishes available for vegetarians has really expanded past just the usual "polenta stack with zucchini, squash, and eggplant." Some dishes are still a bit hit or miss, like their "Chinese" dishes, but most of the food is really good. And their salad bar is top notch, with yummy toppings that rotate in and out like sliced hardboiled eggs, heirloom tomatoes, avocado chunks, and candied walnuts. Also, their quantity is always sufficient to feed the whole company (with leftovers!), which was always a problem we often had with Zero Cater, both at my old company and my current company. Our office gets our lunches catered by Cosmo, and I'm always really excited to see them in our office! The staff are really friendly and the food is always well-prepared. I'm only comment is about the beef/steak they they serve...it's always well-done.....which makes the meat very tough. However, I understand that for the sake of food safety, they might as well make it well-done. Company wide email saying "Danger- Do not eat the chicken". We took pictures, and I tried to post on Yelp, but I guess that's not an option. I recently hired Cosmopolitan Caterers to cater lunches and dinners for our company 5 days per week. Not only is their food exactly what we need to accommodate the different diets and eaters we have, but their service is awesome too! I toured their new facilities, including the kitchen (where the magic happens). They run their operation very efficiently and have their processes so finely tuned that taking on new clients is no sweat for them. Their delivery folks are super cordial and professional. Ted and his team at Cosmopolitan Catering were INCREDIBLE at our son's wedding last Saturday - the FOOD was spectacular and much complimented, but the SERVICE was unbelievable! Everyone serving looked amazingly professional, but their style of serving our plated dinner was wonderful. Everyone said it was 5-star service. Each table was served individually with a crew, all at the same time, with precision. This flourish amazed our guests! We served Kobe beef, and we had so many guests ask how in the world their beef was served by a caterer perfectly rare or medium rare....the salmon was spectacular as well, and the plate presentation was definitely 5-star. The bride and groom were busy, so their food was kept warm and served fresh the second they sat down to eat. They thought they were returning to cold plates. They were so happy! Such attention to detail, I've never experienced from a caterer, and I've hired many, as an event planner. Ted is able to coordinate with each other with the wireless microphones they use. I had never heard of a "high-tech" caterer. Ted said they invest in technology, which really pays off! My husband also witnessed the "team meeting" prior to the start of the event, in which all servers/staff were trained and encouraged with positive directions about what they were about to do. My husband was so impressed with that extra effort. They are truly top-notch professionals at catering and serving. Everyone really seemed to enjoy what they were doing, and each took pride in their job. I totally did not expect the catering crew and manager to help us clear our boxes of stuff from the winery, but that really was the extra step that made our night fantastic. I highly recommend Cosmopolitan Catering for a 5-star experience at a very reasonable price. We had many quotes and tastings, and many were more expensive, but Cosmopolitan was the perfect choice. All the food comes family style and their menu changes every day, which helps with our variety each week. Our Sales Account Manager is really good about sending me an updated menu each month so then we can figure out which day to have Cosmo Caters come out to cater our lunch. Cheryl, the owner, was absolutely fantastic! There was only four weeks from the time we contacted her to the time of our wedding. She was nothing but accommodating. Everything we asked for was provided, without question. When we weren't sure what to do or how much to order she stepped right in and provided assistance. They were able to not only provide the food, but also brought in all the tables, chairs, linens, silverware and glasses. So we didn't have to deal with a bunch of different rental companies. This made the entire process very smooth. On the day of the wedding Cheryl was right there assisting her crew with the setup. She even became the unofficial wedding consultant and assisted with the timing of the processional. The lead server was Calvin. Him and his crew were superb. They setup everything very quickly and our backyard looked perfect. The chairs had to be moved, after the ceremony, from ceremony style to each table. This was handled very efficiently and without any bother to our guests. I can not say enough about the food. People are still calling and raving about how it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding. The chicken marsala was as good as I've had and I could eat one of their twice baked potatoes everyday!! Last Saturday Cosmo Catering did my event for 366 people at the Computer History Museum. They helped me plan the event and reduce unnecessary expenses from vendors. On the "day of" they arrived on-time, were well-organized and the food and service were both excellent! Although it was a plated dinner, the lamb lollipops and skirt steak skewers nearly stole the show. This is the first time I've used them, but not the last. I have worked with Jake and his staff for two events and each went flawlessly. I had a graduation party at my home that all of my friends and neighbors are STILL talking about (it was in 1/07). We had a mashed potato bar along with other creative appetizers (toasted ravioli!) and main dishes. Jake had a carved turkey that was literally to die for - his cranberry spread was edible with a spoon all on it's own. We did fruit kabobs with delicious dips that made you forget you were actually eating fruit, they were so decadent. Most recently (4/09) Jake catered an anniversary party for my Parents. Pancetta wrapped chicken, wild rice (with dried canberries), and roasted veggies were among the terrific menu items. It was spectacular; everyone raved. Every detail, and guest, was attended to.
