    I highly recommend Greenfish Catering for catering your big event! We used them to cater our wedding reception at the Los Altos History Museum this past October 2021. Background on our wedding: my husband and I got married in a civil ceremony in October 2019. We wanted to have our bigger reception with family and friends in October 2020. Then the pandemic happened and around August 2021 we decided we needed to postpone our bigger celebration to the following year to October 2021. Mina, the catering coordinator, was great in working with us to reschedule our event. No additional fees were required except to account for new 2021 pricing which was fair to us. Greenfish is one of LAHM's approved caterers and they've worked at LAHM many times. She helped coordinate a site visit to the museum to work on our floor plan and set up the rentals with a partner rental company. I trusted Mina's judgment on which items needed to be rented and which things we could use from the museum in order to save some money (we ended up only renting the sweetheart table, cross back chairs for bride and groom, linens, and the plates/silverware. All other furniture came from the museum). Mina was great at suggesting which linens to rent, such as cream linens vs. white because white may be too harsh in photographs. I also trusted her and my event coordinator JL Events, who also worked events at LAHM before, to set up the floor plan and decide where the dinner and cocktail tables should go. She also worked with Chef Eric to customize the menu for us, such as including sushi rolls in our cocktail hour as appetizers and adjusting some dishes to account for allergies and dietary restrictions (we had some vegetarians and a diabetic on our guest list). Before the pandemic, we were lucky enough to already have a tasting set up in February 2020. We asked LAHM's coordinator on any recommendations for a caterer that did Asian fusion food and he enthusiastically recommended Greenfish. At the tasting we loved all the seafood dishes, from the sushi rolls to the baked salmon! As we left we knew we wanted to book Greenfish. After our reception ended, all our guests raved about the food and how much they loved it! Everyone loved the unique dishes and how good everything tasted. Some standout dishes were the sushi rolls, japchae, and Thai basil chicken and tofu. Mina's team thoughtfully packed up all the leftovers for us to take home after the reception (I still have some Thai basil chicken in our freezer to eat!). We were so happy to have Greenfish cater our reception and hope to work with them again for future events!

    Professionalism 5/5 Food Quality 5/5 Service 5/5 Responsiveness 4/5 Value 5/5 Flexibility 5/5 Greenfish Catering was a preferred vendor of our wedding venue, Hakone Gardens, and it is understandable why. When my husband and I attended the menu tasting, it was initially for the buffet-style menu. But upon request from the mother-of-the-bride, we blindly opted for the plated menu with total trust that it would turn out fine based on our tastebuds. Greenfish did not disappoint with the food quality and service. Our guests enjoyed a cocktail hour of passed hors d'oeuvres: caprese skewers, vegetarian Japanese dumplings, Mediterranean chicken kebabs, and beef-stuffed mushrooms. To accompany this, we opted for their sushi bar which provided an array of fresh and flavorful sushi rolls and nigiri. There were overwhelming comments from our guests about the quality of sushi, which echoed the same opinions my husband and I had during the menu tasting. The entire sushi bar was wiped clean by the end of the night (something I personally recommend splurging on)! Our guests were served a 1st course meal of roasted beet arugula salad paired with bread and butter. Their main entrée was a choice among grilled eggplant, filet mignon or steamed sea bass. My husband and I ordered the steak and fish to share, and both dishes were absolutely delicious. The sea bass was moist, the meat buttery and flaky on the fork; the filet mignon a medium rare inside while soft, well-seasoned and tender! The servers, of which there were many since it was a plated dinner, were also noted to be very friendly and accommodating. I notice this myself with my interactions with them, but also our guests made it a point to communicate this to us. At one point in the evening, my father expressed that he was cold, and the staff promptly wheeled in an outdoor heater that I had rented to warm him up! During the wedding planning process, the event manager, Jean Martinez, corresponded with me closely by email, phonecall and text. I do notice that GreenFish is especially in demand, and the staff can be bum-rushed. Sometimes I would have to email Jean a second time to prompt her response because I believe she is so busy managing multiple events, and remind her of some key changes in our plans that were previously discussed. This certainly does not detract from the quality of their service, however, as Jean solidified everything with me multiple times before the big day. Because Jean was my greatest contact within the catering company, I have to put her on blast. When touring the venue with her, she gave invaluable recommendations on set-up for a wedding in this space. We went to the rental warehouse together, and she staged the reception guest table with the inventory they had available. Jean was the one who prompted me for all the key rentals down to the style of eating utensils and plates, and even the amount and type of linens needed for the event. I didn't need to think too much, but any ideas I had, Jean would entertain while providing novel insight. Some unique things Jean did for me that I appreciate for our wedding was renting out a half-round sweetheart table, securing the outdoor patio heaters (it was an outdoor event), suggesting the square-shaped modern plates, and supplying high-low cylindrical vases which I used as centerpiece decorations with floating candles. Even though Jean has a lot on her plate, she always brought positivity to our interactions, exuding a maternal warmth that made me feel like I could place my trust in her for this hefty task. I never felt like I had to worry during the entire planning process. Thanks so much, Jean, for all the positive energy you brought to our planning process. You made things easy for us! The staff were amazing, professional and friendly! And thank you to the chef who expertly provided such wonderfully delicious food that everyone enjoyed! If you're planning a wedding, I strongly recommend GreenFish Catering!

    We chose Greenfish as the caterer for our wedding at Hakone Garden in May. Jean, our coordinator, did such a great job helping us pick out our linens, silverware and went above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect. She made the whole process so easy and seamless and helped walk us through everything. The food, especially the sushi station, was so amazing our guests loved it!!

    Between the great service, excellent food, friendly staff, beautiful decor & plating, I honestly don't know where to begin. My company's 10-year anniversary was coming up, and I compared quite a few places throughout the bay that had 4.5-5 star ratings on Yelp. Greenfish not only cost less for what we got (a carving station, sushi station, 2 bartenders, 2 servers and passed hors d'eouvres for 60 guests), but also gave me way more attention than the other catering companies I had contacted. Once we began communicating via email, within days Mina and another employee was at our office to see our general setup so we could plan the party layout, decorations, and what they would need to bring. NO ONE else did that. Every single member of their staff was courteous, friendly, and very good at what they do. The servers were attentive and helpful. They helped me string up lights or stock our fridge with beer 2 hours prior to the party and kept clearing plates throughout the night. The chef, Eric rolled sushi and kept the sushi coming nonstop for hours. He also plated all hors d'oeuvres himself - beautiful work and everyone loved the food. The bartender and I worked together to create a list of cocktails, beers, etc. so I knew ahead of time what to provide. They even arrived with a framed drink menu that was custom made for us - Sazze's Drink Menu with all the drinks I had mentioned serving. It was so awesome! We ended up hanging out with the staff because they're so cool. We even gave them some beers from our very limited stash of Pliny the Elder, which we enjoyed together as they thanked me for working with them and making their jobs easier. I seriously think they made MY job easier. I'm not a full-time party planner...I'm in marketing at a small tech company. I just happened to get stuck with this event-planning role. All in all, everything went exactly as planned throughout the night and everyone had such a blast. I'm already thinking about contacting Greenfish again for our next event!

    I had absolutely no idea this amazing establishment even existed. Lucky for me, my office was having an open house event and needed a caterer. My manager did some research and stumbled upon GreenFish through yelp. We honestly couldn't be happier with the whole experience. I didn't deal with the whole planning and menu selecting aspect, my review is solely based on the food and the customer service that was given on the day of our event. Three employees arrived and set up the tables and beverage station. From the moment they walked in, it was all business yet they were very approachable and friendly. SCORE! Food started getting prepared and before we knew it, the tables were filled with edible food art. Set up was very clean, elegant, and dare I say... MOUTHWATERING. check out my photos!! ALL night, we received compliments on the food. Chef Eric and his team makes magic happen! Hopefully I'll be able to work with their team again- preferably sooner than later- if wedding planning for myself ever goes underway. I would totally recommend this establishment to my friends and family.

We ordered 2 sushi platters, veggies, fried rice, katsu and noodles. We will definitely use Greenfish Catering again.

    Greenfish totally rocked my wedding on May 23! They did full service catering and managed all the rentals for my wedding at Hakone Gardens in Saratoga. Mina is not just a total sweetheart, she is also a great coordinator. She made sure that our wedding was perfect AND on budget. During the last week before the wedding, she kept in touch with me almost daily just to make sure that all the details were in place. On the day of, the reception area was set up beautifully and the sushi bar looked amazing: Piles of fresh sushi made on-site by Chef Eric who is not just a good chef but a super nice guy. The sushi bar was beautifully decorated with vegetables carved into flowers. The fish was fresh and the sushi itself was fantastic. The vegetarians were happy too because the chef would make vegetarian rolls for them on the spot. We had bacon wrapped scallops and teriyaki chicken skewers for hors d'oeuvres. I only had small bites of each before having to run off to take pictures and I REALLY WANTED MORE!!! Especially the scallops! D: The kalbi, salmon, and vegetable dishes were really good too, but I did not see how the other buffet setting looked though I'm sure it was great. The only reason I didn't get to see it was because Mina made sure that my husband and I got served our own plates once we sat down during the reception. So unlike a lot of brides, I actually had time to eat my own wedding food! The only thing I regret is being too busy and anxious to have a full appetite! In short, all the food was AWESOME, but don't really have to take my word for it, I'll let the following fact speak for itself: We ordered plenty of food for our 110 guests and we were completely cleared out by the end of the night. We received so many compliments on the food and personally I had never seen people eat so much at a wedding. :) If you want great Asian food at your event, go with Greenfish. The staff is simply amazing and the prices are very reasonable for what you get.

    I needed to throw a birthday party for my second boy who just turned one, and I chose Greenfish catering, which turns out to be one of my best decisions that I ever made recently. I learned about them from one of my friend's party a year ago. Dishes and presentation were great. I thought that factors are already good enough to earn many stars. One culmination of that party was from the Chef Eric's polished integration into the party itself; Close to the end of the party when people started to feel drained, he started a Sushi-making competition for the people in the party. I am sure that was organized with the party host, but it was a stunningly pleasant moment. That experience did not escape me, so I called them for my party this time. To be honest, I don't know how to organize a party. I don't know what dishes I should order, what 'kind' of plates and utensils I should use, etc.. I am simple enough to be just happy with good food and good people. That's all I wanted. To be honest further, I am an economical person and planned a less than a reasonable budget. And that was my one concern before calling them. The manager Mina and Eric were very kind and extremely flexible. They maintained congenial attitudes till the last moment. Mina mainly discussed the presentation, display, and decorations of the site. Chef Eric mainly discussed the choice of dishes. This was what I did. Since I had no idea which sushi names are out there and what is what, I just told them my budget, the number of guests, and I asked their discretion and advice on everything. Then Eric asked me my guest's cultural background and nationality. Then he recommended me a very focused set of high quality sushi dishes instead of spreading varieties of food, taking into considerations my budget and the party size. His strategy was, since many people cannot enjoy high quality sushi sufficiently much in daily life, they would enjoy this particular line of food combination. To reveal the results first, it worked very much. My guests were very satisfied with the quality AND the amount, although I did not order varieties of non-sushi dishes. Mina called me about three times over two weeks before the party, and she carefully explained the presentation and decoration to me, in the level of 'parties to dummies'. She checked out the site in advance (the site was not my place) and she explained me how she will prepare the site. I felt very thankful about it. Though I should be responsible for the decoration as a host, she was voluntarily willing to do it for me. This is my heartfelt recommendation: Tiramisu cake. The last item was the birthday cake. Originally I was going to bring a nice cake available at my favorite local store. Then chef Eric told me he could bring a nice Tiramisu cake. So again I freerode on him. It turned out a great decision too. The cake is slightly cheesy cocoa topped ice-cream like soft and cold cake. Yummy and I loved it. Oh, I did not bring the cake out right after the main food. I let the guests play for a while and then Tiramisu became the last punchline of the day. It is not common to feel thankful to chefs of the restaurants. One may feel satisfied, but not thankful usually. I felt thankful to them, and it feels good.

What I ordered: * Small Soúp Măng Cua/Bong Bóng Cá Asparagus Crab Meat soup - $120 * Small Gỏi Sứa Tôm Thịt Ngó Sen- $50 * Small Mì Xào / Chow Mein - $50 * Chả Giò / Egg Rolls- $1.50 each * Small Bò Mông Cổ / Mongolian Beef- $60 for 3 lbs of meat * Small Cơm Chiên Cá Măn / Salted Fish Fried Rice - $55 REVIEW FOOD- Overall the food was delicious and not overly salty, so it's great for the older people's taste.     Food, Service = 5 Another 5 star catering service delivery…read more What started as a repeat extremely satisfied customer order journeyed into uncertainty closed out with validation why Athena Grill Catering will always be one of my go to catering companies, especially for Greek, Mediterranean food. Went to their website to order catered buffet lunch for a board retreat happening the next day in Los Altos. As before site easy to navigate with a variety of options to tailor. The first clue that there might be issues was I wasn't able to see or select my ideal delivery time for later in the day. I thought they were already booked for the time. Then when I confirmed & paid for my order, the interface provided a message at bottom of my receipt that catering orders must be made 48 hours in advance. I did it the night before our retreat. (Made note to self to order 48 hours in advance in future) I was disappointed that the website did not clearly note must be made 48 hours in advance or message before I paid that I was ordering less than 48 hours. After making a decent size order for 9, I went in mode hoping to salvage this order. I sent email to restaurant and left a voicemail that night with intention to call in morning to ensure they can fulfill order or provide a refund if they cannot. I called in morning to leave another message in hopes they check messages before their Saturday opening time of 11am which would not allow enough time to cook & deliver. So while setting up for our retreat and searching for a plan B for lunch the hour before retreat starts at 9:30am, I discovered several missed calls. To my delight it was Lorena confirming that they can complete the order, to call back & that would need to pay $20 to deliverer (lunch delivery is complimentary during weekdays near to their restaurant). She left voicemail and text. When I called back, I thank her and Athena grill for coming through. Fast forward, food delivered in mobile hot boxes as expected on time by a couple, quietly arranged in the back of room, generous serving for 9, and very hot for traveling from Santa Clara to Los Altos. I confirmed with Lorena via text and expressed my gratitude who again was responsive. The food was enjoyed by all. We had salad (crisp w/dressing on side), grilled veggies (chunky cut that were firm not mushy), spanakopita (crisp phylo w/good size filling), vegetarian moussaka (would not miss the meat), rice (loose and more than enough for 9 of us), grilled skewered chicken (always moist), grilled salmon (first time and was good portion), and baklava (tasted home made). One of my colleagues asked if food was Halal, which I think they confirmed. Unsure if correct, so suggest contact restaurant directly. Brought leftovers for Hubby & Dad to enjoy. We had two tastings, one upon signing the contract and a final one closer to the date where we were able to bring along family and a close friend. They served us full plates of every dish so we even left with plenty of leftovers, which was such a fun bonus for us! Throughout the planning process, they were very easy to communicate with and were highly responsive via email. It was super convenient having them coordinate the table design at their warehouse, including the linens, plateware, and glassware. While the design meeting isn't a "boutique" curated experience, their warehouse has plenty of options to choose from if you already have a general color palette and vibe in mind. On the wedding day, the staff was extremely attentive and brought us hand rolls before cocktail hour even started to ensure we actually got to eat. The live hand roll station was a massive hit with our guests and absolutely delicious. I also appreciated how open they were to our custom cocktails; I provided my own recipe and li hing powder for a pineapple li hing margarita, which they executed perfectly. Cost-wise, this is not a budget vendor and is on the more expensive side. However, the full-service, high-touch planning and day-of experience, from the tastings to the seamless coordination of all design elements, completely justified the price. You truly get what you pay for, and we have no regrets. If food is a top priority for your wedding, we highly recommend Michi's. The wedding went extremely smooth with Michi's team taking care of table setup, cocktail hour appetizers and stations, as well as full dinner service. They also went out of their way to check in with us and our vendors to make sure we were all well fed. Everything was cooked perfectly and was delicious. They were so accommodating with my request, had everything ready right when I needed it, and the food was chef's kiss delicious. We're talking perfectly marinated, juicy kalbi that disappeared faster than I could put down the platter. One minute I walked in with the star of the show... the next minute, gone. Every single person asked where I got it from -- and I proudly said: Kitchen Woori! The staff were warm and friendly, and you can tell they really care about quality and customers.
