This company should not be in business. I hired Patrice who seemed to be profesional and have allot of experience. I was wowed by the menu she provided. It felt odd that she asked for full payment upfront, and that was the start of my nightmare with Splendid Feast Catering. My contract was to feed 29 people for a company party and have appetizers start at 5pm. The staff arrived 1 hour late and the apps were frozen and tasted horrid. To make matters worse, when I saw the amount of food she brought, I mentioned that it didn't look like enough. She said I always make more than what's needed, which is the case with every caterer I've ever hired. However, she came up short, she only made enough for 24 people. I didn't eat and a few others didn't eat, so I had to go across the street and order food for us. I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO EMBARRASSED IN MY ADULT LIFE! She breached her contract with me in multiple ways, see below. 1- Decorations - didn't even use a table cloth 2- Event Start, 5pm- didn't show till 6pm 3- Food for 29- made only enough food for 24 and I had to purchase food for the others including myself 4- Silverware and plates- didn't bring enough forks and plates. I had to run to the nearest store to buy them. 5- Carving station- charged me but decided to just throw it in one of two serving dishes and didn't tell anyone when they were done. 6- Charged me for team members to serve- No team, they left and told no one including Patrice. 7- Clean up- they left me a horrid mess and stained my carpet with oil. It's 3 days later and they are ignoring my phone calls and will not pick up their mess or serving platters or garbage. In conclusion, please take the time to read this and do not hire her. She is now avoiding my calls and reimbursement. I'm not one to leave horrible reviews, but because I was cheated/scammed into paying allot of money and the company not making it right, I feel it's my duty for others to know and not get scammed like me. read more

Where to start? If I could leave negative stars for this vendor, Patrice Ventresca, and her lack of professionalism for the company event we were invited to this last Friday, I would. Had to give a star to write the review but caterer is NOT up to par. The menu looked amazing so we had high expectations, and were completely let down, and hard, as if slammed face first into a dirty gutter. The main issues being: 1) lack of punctuality, 2) lack of items promised in contract, 3) lack of professional service, 4) lack of accountability for what actually WAS provided. We arrived about 30+ minutes early to help our host with cocktail hour set-up. The caterer was not there early as promised, to set up with linens and appetizers, before all the guests arrived. Our host called her and we overheard her say her employee had left 40 minutes prior. Sorry, but that was plenty of time for his arrival to the venue from Mtn. View! Upon his 6pm arrival (1.5 hrs late), what he set up was cold appetizers of fish and shrimp ceviches, tortilla chips, plantain chips and a platter of beef carpaccio with capers...table linens were nowhere to be seen. The chips and ceviches were not seasoned and did not taste like anything! There were no condiments provided to add to them either - no salt, salsa, chili flakes or anything. About 20-25 minutes later, Patrice arrived (now almost 2hrs late) with one other female employee and was clearly scattered. They brought in several bags of items, one of which was a turkey, uncovered it and started cutting it into pieces to put in a chafing dish. In the process, they were spilling the oil and juices all over the counter, lower cabinets and all over the floor, staining it, without noticing nor offering to clean it up until it was brought to their attention by the co-host. The catering team disappeared one by one and while I thought they were bringing in more food because the meal looked incomplete, come to find out they were all gone because they had finished putting out what they brought!! The entire set up for dinner and dessert was done hastily and quite sloppy. We ended up with another disappointment at dessert as the pies were either not fully cooked (banana) or overdone (pumpkin). There was supposed to be a nice set-up with linens for appetizers, a carving station with turkey and rib roast and two types of delicious pies for dessert, utensils and plates...but instead we were served everything in a combined dish of turkey with gravy, stuffing, cranberry relish, carrots, and beef roast. There was a second chafing dish full of some kind of flavorless rice pilaf thing...once again, letting us down because we could not even say it tasted good or was a saving grace to this pathetic attempt at serving a meal for a party of 30. Do not waste your money nor put your trust in Patrice Ventresca and Splendid Feast Catering & Events....this has been the worst experience with catering for quite a few of us familiar with coordinating and working all types of events. She brought the most bland food I've ever tasted. Was very late and made a mess all over that I myself cleaned. The boy that came to help smelled bad. We recently had a horrible experience with this caterer. I'm not sure how she has received good reviews previously when she fell so short with our company event. We were supposed to have a nice event for the company and her and her team arrived over 1hr late. The setup was not what was promised. The work was sloppy, the food was horrible and the dessert wasn't fully cooked. The only thing that was tasteful was the salad. Now Patrice Ventresca is not answering her calls or wanting to refund any of the money. What a shame. I've used great caterers before for our events who are willing to own up to their mistakes and keep the customer happy and work to resolve the unpleasant experience, this is bad business etiquette. I went through her responses in her reviews and she blames it on a disgruntled customer, of course you would be disgruntled if you spend money on what you feel will be a great event and the service is NOT what was expected. This is my first review and after reading the recent reviews on this business I agree with them on the rating. I attended a bridal shower and she too was late. Event started at 1:30 but she did not arrive till around 2:30ish. The agreement had 2:30. There was communication on the time change to 1:30. She texted she would be there at 12:45. As it was she got there at the original time and had to rush to get the dishes plated. Luckily the hosts had drinks on hand as she was to supply them. In my opinion she lacks organizational skills. If catering an event the caterer should arrive about an hour before to get food and drinks set up. Another thing I heard was that she requested the second half of payment before services were rendered. That is unprofessional! Do not recommend! Words cannot describe how bland the food was when it finally arrived! It was how I imagine prison food tasting like even if I did 20- life the federal system would have more mercy on me than serving what Patrice did. The rice was so confusing it was trying to be middle eastern with the spices but was burned and did not go with the turkey that was prepared. I was looking forward to dessert, but those were either undercooked or overcooked pies I mean who messes that up? At that point buy them from Marie Calendars and serve them. I could start with how she set candles such that they would be a fire hazard. I could continue with how she made my friends dig through trash to find her precious sea shells which she put in a container even a moron would assume was a garbage can. I could proceed with describing how she did next to nothing, but I'll leave it simply at this: I have never met a caterer who gets drunk* at the event they are "catering." *-- if not drunk, then severely tipsy. I did extensive research before I chose a caterer for my wedding in May 2006, and couldn't be more pleased with what Splendid Feast produced. I would wholeheartedly recommend Patrice of Splendid Feast for your reception without reservation. First, she's an artist, and will create a deliciously memorable and ascetically pleasing menu for your wedding feast. Next, there's her attention to detail. She has a loyal staff and dedicates a lot of energy to making sure the details are well executed. Finally, her pricing is reasonable, especially given the quality and quantity of food and its presentation. Instead of putting reception on our wedding invitation, we put "Wedding Feast to Follow," and Patrice truly delivered a feast. She even made sure we had a beautifully packed "picnic" of food from our reception that we enjoyed on our wedding night. I'd like to elaborate on her attention to detail. We had several elements of our wedding that were customized -- the menu, the room layout (with rented tables, chiavari chairs, full table top spread, etc.), the ahi tuna grilled onsite, and also our table runners. Splendid Feast catered a party that my wife held at our house for her management team of ~20 from work. Despite the fact that the arrangements and number of guests weren't finalized until the day before, Patrice and her staff handled everything in stride and the food was wonderful. Several guests asked me to pass along my compliments to the chefs. Some accommodations had to be made at the last minute, but it was more a matter of Splendid Feast accommodating to our changing needs. Patrice asked all the right questions and had everything set up on her end; we simply didn't have all the answers for her until the day of. I recently hired Patrice of Splendid Feast to cater an intimated wedding for my sister and it was nothing short of Perfect. The whole experience working with Patrice and the delicious menu exceeded the value and my expectation. Patrice is a chef and artist who put her heart into our event and it showed. I had three weeks to plan an intimated outdoor wedding on a budget and called several catering companies. Patrice was prompt at returning my phone call and working within my budget and time frame. She had an extensive menu and was flexible in customizing the menu to fit our needs. What sold me was how passionate she talked about the food, the ingredients, and how she envisions the event. I choose Patrice Ventresca, because she is professional, creative , and knowledgeable. I have worked with her in the past, and I hope to cross paths in the near future. Yet, there is something amiss, I did a little research that there is a lot of negative chatter about this entrepreneur, and the way she conducts business. My brother contacted Patrice couple weeks before my wedding and had worked with her to come up an extraordinary menu. Patrice worked with our budget, short time frame and made wonderful food recommendations based on our needs. Overall all dishes were good. The Grilled Salmon with Avocado Cream Sauce with Tobiko Caviar was exceptional. My guests couldn't stop taking about it. The food arrived on time and Patrice and her team set up every thing and even decorated the buffet tables with our theme. I didn't have to stress at all. At first we thought Splendid Feast was going to be an amazing company to have cater our wedding. Upon meeting with Patrice, and after signing and putting down a very large deposit we started feeling uncomfortable. She was confusing us with other "customers" and we just felt like she wouldn't be able to deliver. In the contract it stated that we were able to cancel and back out 45 days before the event, well we did just that on day 47....she refuses to give our deposit back until she receives another deposit from another party! WHO DOES THAT? WHAT PROFESSIONAL CATERER DOES THAT? She's not professional whatsoever. She has currently been served papers and we will see if she appears in court or not. Patrice if you read this, you should know that you broke the law and breached your own contract, don't you think it's time to grow up and face the music and handle things responsibly? This is intended to be an objective review, as no hard feelings exist following delivery of services. However it should be noted that delivery of services was not only below expectations in quality, but less than in contracted scope. The services in question included catering a wedding ceremony and providing table linens. The vendor was two hours late for a meeting at the venue to plan for the reception, and even at that time the vendor did not have a complete record of the details that had been previously provided. The vendor was then one hour and fifteen minutes late to setup the day of the wedding. The ceremony was delayed, as the vendor was late in bringing the linens necessary to prepare the various ceremony and reception tables. Early arriving guests, along with the groom and groomsmen, assisted in the placement of the linens on behalf of the vendor so as to complete preparations (including table centerpieces). The "linens" themselves were unhemmed fabric rolls cut to length. The hole for the linens used on tables with umbrellas were cut with scissors onsite, by the early arriving guests. The tableware provided was not to specification, and is consistent with the themes of poor planning and complete minimalism. The food was not ready in time, even though the wedding pictures following the ceremony (itself delayed) took longer than planned. Food prepared offsite was not properly placed in heated warming trays, and was cold by the time the bride and groom were served. The bride assisted in the placement of the food labels while at the buffet line. The beverage table was rarely attended and was depleted upon arrival of the bride and groom. The vendor's staff was in street clothes, and while very polite and apologetic, did not appear to be trained professionals (but rather appeared to be personal friends of the business owner). No comments from guests were received on the taste of the food; it is assumed that the consensus is consistent with the thoughts of the bride and groom--the food itself was unimpressive and cold. The venue staff manager stated that this was the worst catering service he had observed in his time at the venue. Please consider these facts before entering into a 50% down agreement with Splendid Feast Catering. read more

Patrice and her team catered a birthday party for my mother. They were terrific. They worked outdoors in nearly 100 degree heat and were always pleasant and helpful. The entire team did all they could to make sure the party was a success. Patrice's menu suggestions were terrific and they tasted better than I could have imagined. Clean up was impeccable. As a former restaurant owner and caterer, with a lot of weddings under my belt, I was very particular with whom I would trust with my own special day. I had previously attended several events catered by Splendid Feast and knew that the food was always prepared with the extra touches and attention to detail that most people don't really notice. The owner, Patrice, took a lot of time with us to go over menu ideas to come up with our own Splendid Feast that we knew would be attended by our own "foodie friends." The set up was gorgeous, the staff was attentive and very present, but also unobtrusive, making sure the event went off with out a hitch. The food was fantastic, and I know for a fact that most people can't say that about their wedding day, because they are too busy, too distracted, or too overwhelmed to eat. It was a last minute event and I found Splendid Feast through an online website. The owner, Patrice Ventresca, replied immediately with a telephone call. The event was a memorial celebration and I didn't have a lot of time to spend on discussing the particulars nor did I have a lot of information to give. Patrice immediately caught onto what I had in mind and delivered, even the minor details. My menu was eclectic, there was a dish she had not prepared before, and there were some dishes that were brought that she had not anticipated being included. In spite of all of this, Splendid Catering prevailed. With only an hour to set up, Patrice and her staff were efficient, accomodating, and very personable. The decor and food were indeed splendid and the signature dishes were exceptional. Not only did Splendid Feast prevail before and during, but also afterward. The Splendid Feast Staff were attentive to family and guests, the tables were kept clean, and when the event was over, the venue could not have looked better.
