We attempted to have dinner at Sgt. Peppers last night and were the second table of customers in…read moreour section. We ordered soon after being seated. We ordered potato skins and a small chili cup for our appetizers. For our meals, we got the kids Mac n cheese, and a cheese burger from the kids menu. My husband ordered a simple salad with no meat/protein, and I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap. Quickly after, the room filled up with customers. We received our appetizers then never heard from our waitress again. We watched everyone else that came after us receive their food and get checked on but never once did our waitress check on us or refill our waters. We were annoyed by this point because the service was horrible. We couldn't find our waitress so when a different waitress walked past us, we asked her to get us our check because we just wanted to leave. She went to grab our check and when she returned, instead of apologizing to us, she informed us it had "only been 20 mins" since we ordered. My husband pointed out that everyone else got their food first even though they came after us, and she tried to excuse it claiming it was because they ordered grilled dishes. WE LITERALLY GOT A KIDS CHEESE BURGER, KIDS MAC N CHEESE, A FRICKEN SALAD AND A WRAP. No apology from her still whatsoever. It was as if we were an inconvenience to them. Our waitress came back to grab our payment, never once apologized for the inconvenience either. How pathetic and unprofessional. Thank goodness we left when we did. Would never return even if you paid me to.

Took a trip out to the White Rock Lounge to actually see a show. This was my first show here and…read morethe vibe was amazing. I have honestly never heard of these bands because I am not in the metal scene and was most likely the odd one. I did however meet some very cool people and had some amazing conversations. I got a chance to speak to some band members and a chance to purchase some of the Merch. The merchandise was very good quality in my opinion and priced decently for the work put into creating it. The bands Ulkum, Wilbur, and Lungs were incredible. When people who don't understand metal hear the word metal they think a group of people playing very loud then head banging followed by loud screaming and smashing things. All metal is not like that these bands had harmony and played gracefully as well and some of the parts had a romantic melody to them. The bands were very enthusiastic and I learned a lot from some of them and that it was not only metal music that inspired them to play metal. The sound at the white rock lounge was perfect it was not like going to some places where it's so loud that it will rupture your eardrums and the sound technician they had was right on point with making sure things ran smoothly. The metal people are not as unfriendly are people would think and you should not be afraid of them if you take the time to speak to them then you will learn a lot about travel, adventure and music from them. I had an amazing night and the white rock staff was amazing as well as Steve the owner who was all over the place running his business. It's rare these days to have a hands-on owner running around getting his hands dirty and mingling with the people. I plan to check out another show there and try metal karaoke lol. If you have not been here and you live in the area give it a try and come with an open mind. #stpaul #saintpaul #lowertownstpaul #Lowertown #thewhiterocklounge #twrl #yelp #yelpelitesquad #yelpelitesquad #metalmusic #ülküm #lungs #metal #wilbur #heavymetalmusic

The venue is a bit outdated, but it's fine for a small town local eatery. The Christmas decor was still on display in February. The staff was friendly. The pastries seemed hard and stale. For advertising Prime Rib, the cuts that were served were disappointing. We were looking around for a carving station with au jus and horseradish. We found what seemed to be a stack of cold precut pieces with grill marks like a Salisbury steak from a tv dinner. I wish I'd taken a pic. We've always had good restaurant food there so we also suggested it to another family with a large group. They rated it a 3/10 so I was embarrassed I'd recommended it at the price we paid. It was also my brothers 50th birthday to we agreed to spend more than we normally do on Easter brunch/person. Unfortunate double occasion choice. The dessert choices were lacking with cookies and what seemed like an all whipped cream pie. I wish I'd bought a cake. We were told our reservation was later as we got mixed in with the other family and the desk wasn't understanding that I had my own reservation confirmed three times. Server and staff were somewhat attentive (hard to get 2nd drink) but it just was disappointing. Sadly won't return for holidays but we've loved the French onion soup, fried cauliflower, and old style supper club vibe when visiting the restaurant in the past and ordering from the menu. I tried emailing them, but I've had no response.
