Where do I even begin with Corrie Glen Bed and Breakfast? This place was a treat! I couldn't recommend this place more if I tried.
My boyfriend and I went on a weekend canoeing/cliff jumping adventure and wanted to book a place near by so we wouldn't feel like we needed to rush back home after spending the day on/in the loch. I researched some near by places, and came across this little gym. They have reviews galore on Trip Advisor, and their website gave information on who they are and what sort of rooms they have. Let me tell you, the pictures on their website, and even mine, don't do this place justice, really.
When we arrived, the owners Pauline and Stephen came out to welcome us to their bed and breakfast. Such nice people, very friendly and welcoming. Pauline showed us around the place, let us know where we could hang out, eat, etc. and then showed us to our room. A lovely double bedroom with a bathroom outside the room, all to ourselves. There are three rooms total, the other rooms have en-suites. When we got settled, Pauline and Stephen asked us if we wanted a tea out on the deck, and we agreed. By the time we got out there, not only was their tea and water, but biscuits as well. Such a nice touch, really added to the experience. The table where we were sat looked out on to their land, which had horses and birds galore. In the distance, you could see mountains and wee houses. What a magical place Corrie Glen is.
We hung out for a bit before heading in to town to explore. The room was super cozy, with amazingly soft duvets and pillows. There was a wee TV there, which had basic channels, which came in handy after we went out exploring, we were exhausted and barely turned on the TV before we were asleep. The room came with bath robes, a hair dryer and a coffee/tea making station. In the morning, before breakfast, we made ourselves a wee cup of coffee in bed, it was great.
Breakfast comes with the room, so we showered and made our way in to the eating area of the b&b where Pauline came out to let us know how everything worked. There was a dry goods breakfast bar with cereals, porridge and juice. There was also a nice spread of fresh fruits and grapefruit, both of which we ate. When we got seated, we had the option of a fry up among other things. My boyfriend and I both went for the fry up. It came with three pieces of toast (cut in half), jams and butter. It was a really delicious way to start our day.
Checkout was at 10am, but we decided to leave a little early as it had started to rain and we were looking forward to heading back to Glasgow to have a full sunday ahead of us. We packed up our things and went into the entry way, where Pauline met us out there, took payment (cash or cheque only) and we were on our way.
Honestly, I will come back to this small town, just to get out of Glasgow and to stay at Corrie Glen again. It really made our weekend away that much more special. Thank you Pauline and Stephen! read more
