I stayed at this wonderful hotel for one night. My partner and I had a brilliant top floor room with a balcony overlooking the loch- it was absolutely stunning! The room was spacious, comfortable and had all the necessary facilities. We particularly liked the quirky idea of having the bath and the shower in the same room as the bed- it made for an interesting experience! We dined in the restaurant and it was fantastic! The variety of food and wine was great and the quality was second to none.

The Lodge on Loch Lomond is a truly unique hotel. It is situated in Luss which is about 30 minutes from Glasgow city centre. The scenery surrounding this four star hotel is truly breathtaking and makes you feel proud to be Scottish. The hotel sits right on the edge of the loch with nothing but beautiful hills for as far as the eye can see. Even on a typically drizzly Scottish day it looks stunning. It's hard to believe all of this is so close to the hustle and bustle of the city. All the rooms and suites in the hotel have a different theme and when I have visited this hotel I have always stayed in one of the Munro rooms. I found them to be a perfect blend of the traditional and the modern, good woolen Scottish blankets on the beds, paintings of the local surroundings on the walls, stuffed bears sitting beside your pillows but also a plasma TV, DVD player, leather couches and immaculate wet room style bathrooms. The dining room is terrific. It has huge floor to ceiling windows giving panoramic views of the Loch which give the impression that the room is floating on the water. The food is delicious and modern European in style. If you can't push to a stay in the hotel it is worth taking a drive up just to pop in for some lunch or dinner. I have been to a wedding in this hotel and the couple got some stunning pictures due to the fabulous surroundings. The hotel is also very flexible and willing to meet most requests to make your wedding day special and personal. The Lodge on the Loch has an awarding spa which unfortunately I have never had a treatment in. However some facilities are open to all hotel guests as a matter of course and they are fantastic and immaculate. I have used the laconium, Turkish hamman and the Finnish sauna, absolute bliss!

Relatively new and quite fancy resort on the shores of Loch Lomond, near the village of Luss. I was there for a friend's wedding, and it was very nice. They have rooms to stay, multipurpose halls for celebratory events like receptions and meals and dances, and all overlooking the beautiful Loch and Ben Lomond. The food they served at the wedding was very good: traditional Scottish, but done quite fancily. First course of smoked salmon was superb; next was haggis and neeps and tatties in a little haute-cuisine stack; and the main was a brilliant lamb cutlet. Like many in Scotland, it's a big resort for golfers. They also cater to all sorts of famous guests (Bill Clinton, for example, as the night manager kept reminding us). Another minor diversion: the Lodge, like many hotels, has umbrellas for use by guests. When I was there, people - even non-Lodge guests - were nabbing these left and right as the rain came and went over the course of the weekend. We noticed these words written on the bright yellow canvas: This umbrella stolen from Loch Lomond Lodge.

Will never come back or recommend this place.

We stopped in on a rainy afternoon for some lunch in October of last year…read more We checked in and then were seated by the fireplace and brought menus. We opted for a burger for Morgan, and a steak and haggis pie for me, with sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Service was polite, and pretty quick. The only minor complaint we had was when Morgan ordered a whisky that he could clearly see on their bar, they had no clue what he was asking for. The food was phenomenal. The burger was really tasty and cooked well, and the steak and haggis pie...I could eat that every day of my life, it was that good. If you're in the area and looking for a good spot to enjoy some really tasty food, I highly recommend the Loch Lomond Arms. If we find ourselves back in Scotland, I will absolutely eat here again.

Stayed in Luss for four nights. After having dinner here the first night we decided to dine here…read morethe other nights as well. Staff is friendly and helpful. There's plenty of tables - but be sure to make a reservation, on weekend it's full. Menu has some really good options on it. And then there are daily specials. Inside it's a nice pub/restaurant. Very comfy and cosy. Our English Bulldog was welcome as well. Then they got a nice selection of drinks at the bar with lots of different and also local whisky. We very much enjoyed the Loch Lomond brand. Here's what we had: Pot of Mussels - very nice and very fresh Cheese plate - nice selection of scottish cheeses Haggis with sides - the BEST haggis I've had so far; fantastic 1/2 dozen Oysters - amazingly great oyster; really a must-order homemade terrine - very enjoyable, but not the best starter on the menu Sunday Roast set menu (once with ham, once with lamb) - quite good, but the meat a bit dry Haggis balls - my favorite starter, could eat these all day every day Cured salmon - sadly not that great Steak Pie - a good choice; hot, crispy and creamy Burger and fries - a very nice, fresh burger; good quality meat Fish'n'Chips - very nicely done, fresh and crispy...and stays crispy to the end All in all they got a really good menu. What's standing out seafood-wise are the amazing oysters and wonderful mussels. Meat-wise it's definitely the delicious Haggis - as a starter or main. Equally great. Surely a place to come back to one day. We enjoyed it.

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of our hike of the West Highland Way, and had the best time here! The staff was wonderful (although it's obvious that they were all horse thieves, pirates and highway men in an earlier life, they were so friendly and helpful, they made us feel very welcome). The food was great (I'm still dreaming about that delicious steak and Guinness pie). The atmosphere made you feel like you'd stepped back in time-- lamp light and muskets and stuffed puffins and a bear in a Drovers t-shirt and kilt. OK, maybe not TOTALLY historically accurate, but history mixed with wit and a sense of fun. They tell me this inn is haunted. It must be by friendly, fun-loving spirits. On our first night there was live music at the bar. We enjoyed the singer/ guitar & harmonica player very much, but it all kicked up a notch when he got the whole room to join in on the singing. Everyone was clapping, stomping and pounding the table, while belting out a rousing rendition of "The Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond". I can't remember enjoying a meal more. On our second night there, the power went out (thank you, Hurricane Amy). The staff showed that although they are retired horse thieves and pirates, they take their current jobs in hospitality very seriously. They could not complete cooking of the evening meals, so it was a quick pivot to sandwiches for all. They handled it with professionalism and grace that made the inconvenience part of the adventure (as one staff member quipped, it was all part of the haunted experience). Breakfast, too, was pulled together with what was available and ingenuity, as they made instant coffee and tea with water heated on the wood stove, and we feasted on cold cereal and granola bars. But as the staff met the challenges with good humor and made the best effort to make it a good experience for the guests, we walked away with an abundance of good memories and an enduring fondness for the Drovers Inn (and its resident horse thieves, pirates and highway men).

A good place to stay if you fancy a short break on the banks of Loch Lomond, and not too far North…read moreis travelling from the South. If you can, stay in the Beach Hose rooms - located a short walk from the main hotel. They are on the banks of Loch Lomond itself with great views. Large size suites with all mod cons and fairly well furnished. The restaurant / bar in the main hotel is called Mr C's Fish and Whisky bar. 200 odd whiskies, usual beers and lagers, plus lots of fresh fish. It was awarded AA pub of the year for Scotland 2009 - 2010. I spoilt my time there by eating deep fried haggis in batter - gave me full-on food poisining for a week! Not a pleasant experience. Avoid this and stick to the fish / meat and you should be OK. Overall I wont downgrade it too much as a result of this, because of its great location and loads of good hikes around the area.

A beautifully styled boutique hotel on the banks of Loch Lomond…read more My favorite think about this hotel was the really nice boutique lodge styling. The hotel has recently been refurbished and looks fantastic. The food was superb. We had fish and chips, calamari and chowder, all very good. Unfortunately they had run out of oysters and langoustine which was disappointing. But never mind, the food was excellent. They also had a really well stocked bar with real ale and a great selection of whisky. The bar man seemed very knowledgeable about the whisky too which is great. The room was nice, the only problem was that we had no heating for the whole night. It was a very cold night and we were freezing. However, I mentioned this to the manager and he was fantastic at sorting it out and asked us to come back to the hotel another night. So all in all, I was very satisfied with our stay. Very romantic and relaxing. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking for somewhere to stay in Loch Lomond.

Afternoon Tea Experience…read more Came here to have a nice Afternoon Tea. We did stay just half an hour away for a couple of days and the Afternoon Tea looked excellent when we checked online. Made a reservation (a must) a few days before. Our Bulldog was welcome here as well which was great! There are several parking lots on the grounds, so we took one a bit further away from the building to enjoy a bit of a walk on the grounds before heading in. The Afternoon Tea is served in The Lobby Bar. Which might not sound exciting, but actually has a very comfy and classy setting. Some tables (which were taken already) with wonderful views. Got our table and got the Afternoon Tea explained. Then ordered some pots of tea - there's more complimentary tea in case one or two aren't enough. You even can switch to other flavours. Dilma tea is served here and has some excellent flavours. "Italian Almond", "Blueberry/Pomegranate" and "Rose, Marzipan & Mint" were all great. First served was Leak & Potatoe Soup, Haggis Bonbons, Vol-au-Vent, Quiche and various Finger Sandwiches (Scottish Smoked Salmon with Dill Butter | Roast Chicken & Cranberry | Cream Cheese & Cucumber | Brioche with Egg Mayo & Cress). All fantastic items. Nothing store-bought, really tasted housemade and homemade. Then Strawberry Pavlova, Chocolat Religieuse, Victoria Cake and Lemon Poppy Seed Cake. Third and last then the Scones with clotted cream and jam were served. This really is an experience and you won't go home hungry. Don't plan on any big meals later on....or before arriving. The quality is really high, it really rises above any other Afternoon Teas we've had in various places. Even a big name in London wasn't as good as this one. But not just taste-wise it was excellent, but also the presentation. All pieces of art. As great in taste as they look. Amazing. Service was nice and friendly and working hard. Just at the start there was a bit of confusion. First the tea didn't arrive. And when it did, there weren't any cups yet on the table until we've called. But that was a very minor issue that didn't bother our great experience here. And really: at 50$ pp it is fair priced. You get a lot of wonderful dishes and items here. You can also upgrade to an Afternoon Tea with Champagne or Sparkling Wine if you'd like to. Surely the best Afternoon Tea we've had so far. Highly recommended. The Cameron House itself is a beauty and the location stunning.

But checking in at the front desk, we encountered a woman too busy to give us much information about the hotel or whether we needed reservations for any of the restaurants or activities. She rushed us through checkin and told us to read about it on the tv from our room. When we found our room, there was a lovely welcome platter of chocolate on the table that I had pre-ordered to surprise my daughter for Christmas. But next to it was a half-empty small bottle of milk. And in the fridge was a half drunk bottle of water. Then we tried to pull up the dining options on the tv as the woman told us to do. We scanned the QR code which took us to options. We clicked on room service and tried to access the menus, but we received error messages after trying multiple times. We dialed the extension "2414" it gave us to call room service. That line was dead. Again, we tried multiple times to no avail. We then called the front desk and asked if we could have unopened bottles of water and milk and if someone could take away the half-drunk bottles. We had to call twice to remind them since nobody came after the first call. The front desk then connected us to room service and the guy said he could try to walk us through the menu over the phone. I asked if we could have a physical menu to look at. He said he'd send one when he had time as he was working on five orders ahead of us. I told him we just wanted to know what was on the menu so we could decide if we were going to go to the pub, try the traditional Christmas dinner or room service. He said it might be awhile. I expressed my unhappiness about not being able to get information about our dining options and he was rude but said he'd send a menu when he could. The woman who brought us water and milk for the chocolates was friendly and tried to get the menu on the tv to work, but it didn't work for her either and she said the number they listed was wrong and suggested we try another number "2411" I think. By then my daughter was upset with me because I was becoming frustrated by feeling like the hotel staff was too busy on Christmas to provide information or service to us. With that, my daughter went to the pub alone to find food and I'm going to sleep. Christmas night is ruined after us being so excited to finally get here. It's too bad they don't have working QR codes or enough staff to help their paying guests. Seems like other people come just for dinner and maybe they are getting good service but as a paying hotel guest, this was perhaps the worst checkin experience I've ever had. Probably what we should've expected for traveling at a busy time of year like Christmas.

The table was booked, meaning that they did not lose any money in me having to cancel. Shocked at their unprofessional behaviour. Very disappointed, as we have regulars for many years now because of their gluten free menu. We booked a table for next week and had to pay the £10 deposit each. When telephoned I was clearly told that if I cancel 24 hours before I will get a refund on my deposit. I've now been told that you do not get your deposit back! So annoyed at this. Taking advantage of people. I won't be returning or recommending Duck Bay. When you pay your deposit, do not expect to get it back! Shocking service! Update, Duck Bay have removed their Facebook page with my reviews. Shame on them. This is my email to head office. I had a booking made for 4 people on the 31st December 2025. Unfortunately, due to unforseen circumstances, this had to be cancelled. I gave 6 days notice, giving you plenty of time to rebook the table. I have in the past cancelled and not been charged. The deposit is to be taken on the day of the booking, and not taken in advance as it had been on this occasion. There is no clear cancellation policy online. On your policy, nowhere does it state a cancellation charges or time limits on cancellation? I did call Duck Bay and was informed that a deposit would be returned if cancelled 24 hours prior. Friends and neighbours have also always had their deposits returned if cancelled before 24 hours. I did ask to rebook and was told that I would need to pay another £40 deposit? I have checked online and there is no availability for a table at 5pm today. You have made no loss and are legally obliged to return my deposit of £40. I am deeply disappointed at the way this matter has been handled. Me and my family are local and regularly visit Duck Bay. After this experience I will not be returning. You clearly do not care much about your existing customers. I will also be writing reviews on our poor experience. Under the Consumer Rights Act you can only withhold a deposit to the extent that it is fair compensation for any losses or inconvenience they incur due to the cancellation. If you easily rebook the table, you're likely owed most or all of it back, as UK consumer law requires fair terms, and keeping a deposit for a minor loss is unfair. Fair Terms: A business can only keep a deposit if it's a fair term, covering their actual losses, not just to make a profit. A week's notice is usually enough time for a popular restaurant to rebook, meaning actual loss might be minimal, making it unfair for you to keep the whole deposit.
