What a wonderful find this winery is! Several of us traveled in from other states to celebrate a family birthday. We went here on a whim, and it was delightful! Karen greeted us (all EIGHT of us!), got us seated, and told us the story of the winery. Meanwhile, the scenery was breathtaking and the wines were delicious! We bought a half case and the weekend wasn't half over before we realized we should have bought twice as much. Thank you for an absolutely wonderful time. Biking the acequia to this winery makes the trip (almost) worth your time. The Corrales bike & wine tour includes a venture to this wide, eloquent estate, and you'll feel the pain in your hamstrings the next day. Bring a mountain bike, the sand along the acequia will make you dig. And it's (almost) worth the ride. Generally, I don't dog on a business for service issues when I know they're buried, as was the case during the tour. Lines for wines were somewhat tasking, they certainly could've used another server or two, but I wasn't complaining. Rather, my group noted a peculiar attitude issue that one of the owners dealt out toward one of person in our group, totally unexplained, while the rest of us were served. It didn't blow up into anything and when we all sat down on the patio following the incident we only discussed it in passing, but it still tugs at me. Of the wineries I visited during the tour, this one had the most elitist vibe. The wine was good, some of it very good, the Cabernet was probably the standout, and they really dodged the sugary sweet inclinations of neighboring vineyards. I thought the dessert wines measured up. The interior, a wide serving bar with a view of the mountains, managed to capture what I'd imagine a Napa Valley winery would seek to frame; the comparatively lush valley to the east was very pretty. But I'm guessing, and this is only a guess, that the business protocol in general reflected what our friend experienced. They're looking for high-end customers. In New Mexico. So I've never been kicked out of a bar or winery...let alone when I haven't had a drop of alcohol...until today. I'm in town working on a film and simultaneously house sitting for some friends that are off to Europe. Since this little town is adorbs, I decided to go for a Sunday stroll and explore when I found this beautiful winery. As my friends know, jack pot for me!! I didn't have my ID but I walked in anyway. I wanted to see what they had on their wine list so that I could return and purchase a few bottles for myself, my boss, and my friends that are off traveling. I was literally kicked out and she couldn't get rid of me fast enough. I know I was out walking and it was warm, but there is no way I had BO, the winery is literally down the road from where I'm staying, so what gives?! She said something about strict New Mexico laws...lady, I'm a wino. I know the law. I was looking for a dry Cab for my boss and I noticed she had a Muscat on her list, and as I was asking she literally yanked the menu out of my hand. I've never been treated so poorly. Maybe the wine tours bring in enough business that she didn't need me to straggle in and take up her time with my questions. I'm giving this one star because it's a beautiful place and she had a sweet German Shepherd hanging out, but I'd never come back to try their wine. I'm here for three more weeks so I'll go buy a case of wine at one of the other 4 local wineries. And so will my friends. read more

My husband and I came here for the Memorial Weekend picnic. It was perfect! The place was so serene in the lil town of Corrales. We were greeted by a very friendly staff and with a complementary wine tasting for 2 of their wines, Reisling and Cab. Their Reisling is my favorite of all the Reisling wines I have ever tried from all around the country. We had 1 glass each of our wine of choice then we proceeded to the lawn for the luncheon picnic. The paella was great, the fruit salads were all fresh and sweet, the german hotdog was very tasty and we also got icecream! But aside from the food, we mostly enjoyed the atmosphere, it wasnt too crowded and not loud. Just what we needed this weekend! There was also a perfect view of the Sandia mountains and their orchard and winery. I will be posting pictures for proof. The owners were very pleasant and they made sure that we got all that we wanted. We highly recommend this place and we are definitely going back! read more

I was really considering whether or not to leave this review. My boyfriend and I have been here a few times and have had a lovely time, but that was when we were the only customers in the room on slow days. Today, my friend and I, who are both in our thirties, stopped in to try wines for her to purchase for her wedding. We were in great spirits and very much looking forward to tasting some wine together. It was very awkward that we stood there, however, without anyone's attention for many minutes, the two servers glancing at us but never asking to help us. We both were noticing the odd looks in our direction, and started whispering to each other that we should leave soon if it doesn't turn around. Right when we were about to leave, they finally asked if they could see my ID--and they inspected it like it was a foreign document, rather than a normal in-state license of a 31-year-old. Already feeling weird, I told them I was 31 as they kept looking at it, and one of the two women said 'no way.' I told them never mind and that we were going to leave, and my friend decided she had to speak up and let them know how unwelcoming it was for us. The responses the two women gave were strange and cold, ranging from accusing us of not actually knowing what we wanted (we both knew immediately...) to telling us the reason we hadn't been helped sooner was that one of them had to go and her glasses from the back to look at our IDs (why only us?!). Again, we are in our thirties, so whatever complex they have about young people in their tasting room is unfounded. The only silver lining is that, when we finally left in really horrible moods, we saw a sign for Pasando Tiempo and had a lovely time there instead. Other customers in the tasting room confirmed that Corrales Winery is rude to "younger" clientele. Be warned. read more

Their tasting room is amazing. It is a relatively small winery and we were here as a part of a group tour of the winery. The owner Keith is a very eloquent vintner and he went through the length and explained to us how their wine is made. I am absolutely amazed at his operation and the white wine that came from his winery is just sweet enough for me. I learned so much about his winery and the wine room tasting manager is very friendly and accommodating. We are ready to come back to this winery to buy a whole box of their Reisling white wine. For a sweet wine drinker like me, their white wine is just perfect. read more

Don't go here if you're having a good day. The staff judges how sober you are by your mood and "looking into your eyes". Being overly happy and having a good day means you're completely wasted. Our group was completely sober. Oh and when they deem you to be "intoxicated" it apparently also gives them a license to be rude as hell to you. Pretty hypocritical even if it was true. Comparable to a window installer telling his client how ugly their new windows are after they pay you to install them. Go here if you enjoy an untrained DWI checkpoint experience right when you show up instead of a lovely day at the winery. read more

My husband and I are from Illinois and had the pleasure of visiting this beautiful winery twice while in New Mexico (on our way from/to Albuquerque/Santa Fe). We prefer dry wine, and we really liked their wines. The hostess was lovely and allowed us to sit in their vast back yard and enjoy the scenery. Please do yourself a favor and visit this place. We did not feel like we were being scrutinized like the guy who said he was stared down for "having a good day". read more

I wish I had more hands... I'd give this place four thumbs down. The Crypt Keeper that serves the "wine" was rude and smelled like a fart, but the worst part was, what they tried to sell as wine. I have been here a few times and found it mediocre at best, but this last and final time was the nail in the coffin. David Lee Roth's ghost gave me a sample of Cabernet that tasted like unclean bûtt hole with sugar on top. (Don't judge me). They also served wine from pitchers which did not seem legitimate. If you like antifreeze then this is your spot. If you like your kidneys, I would stay away. read more

I wish that I could give zero stars on this one. Our experience there was so off-putting, it is resulting in my first review on Yelp because I feel like others need to know how they treat guests before heading over. While the views from the winery are absolutely beautiful, the service leaves much to be desired. We went there excited to try new wines as we are having our wedding, we need wine for it and we love supporting local businesses. After standing at the bar area (mind you, only 5 guests were seated there), the two bartenders completely ignored us. Not once asking if needed help, until we spoke up and mentioned (7 minutes later of awkwardly standing at the bar area while the two bartenders stared at us). Only then after mentioning 7 minutes later we had not been helped, one bartender abruptly walked away while the other STILL did not assist us. Bartender 2 came back and claimed she left to get her glasses to read out ID's (but came back with no glasses). Long story short, after 15 years working in hospitality and fine dining restaurants, I know people get busy, but there is never an excuse to be rude to/and ignore your customers. There is no way with 5 guests (with full glasses of wine) were causing the bartenders to be too "busy" to assist us, or even say a simple hello. I am truly grateful though that they were rude, because my fiancé and I will not be purchasing wine for our wedding from Corrales Winery. Food for thought, a simple hello and a smile goes a long way in the hospitality industry ...and in life. read more

We visited with some friends on Saturday June 24th. The staff member was rude when she greeted us and rude for the duration of our visit. I don't know if she was having a bad day or what but none of us will ever go back and I will tell my friends to skip it. We came here on our bike and wine tour. Completely shocked by their customer service. The lady was so rude and had attitude problem. Instead of welcome us, she greeted us with " were you here yesterday?" We paid to taste their wine, not getting samples for free. We expected friendly service with people explaining how they make their wine like at other winery. Nothing happened here except the rudeness. We bought 1 bottle to share between 6 of us. We couldn't take our bottle with us to sit outside. Instead, we had to line up with our glasses for her to serve our wine. No one could touch their glasses until she was done pouring even amount to each glass??!!? My friends actually liked their Riesling, so they came back for another glass and were denied the service because they already got their 2 glasses. They only had one, and she was the one served us with attitude 30 minutes ago. My friends, then left the winery after a little argument with her, and before they could pass the door she said "hope you don't get hit by a car on your bike". That was the worst thing I ever heard a person say to other people. Waste of our time visiting here. read more

This place is horrible! We went on the bike and wine tour and the lady was extremely rude. Although we had been here before we always thought the location was stunning but the wine was mediocre. The lady with the attitude serving the wine made a horrible comment to me and followed it up by saying "I just wanted to make someone feel bad today." Needless to say we left without trying the two wines they had because everything else was out. Customer service can make or break a place and for us we'll never go back. The wine owner and tasting room manager were around and very helpful when talking with me about their wines and how they produce them. The woman who works thete, Carol is very friendly very cordial I enjoy chatting with her and I must say that this is the best wine I've ever tasted regardless whether you like white or sweet or dry every one of their wines are superb! read more
