a view of the bar and dining area - The image shows the interior of a brewery and cocktail bar with wooden flooring and decor. There are several tables and chairs, including a large dark table in the foreground and white chairs along the wall. Wall art depicts mountains, hot air balloons, and a sun, with the phrase "La Tierra del Encanto." The bar area has a patterned counter, hanging lights, and patrons interacting with staff. A large wooden chandelier with exposed bulbs hangs from the ceiling.

Great place to relax and take a break from shopping in Old Town. Downshift has tasty and refreshing beers, and fantastic folks serving it. We really enjoyed the beers and the vibe here. Service was fantastic.

Beautiful location--upstairs so there is a great wrap around porch on that level where you can sit with your drink and watch everything going on in Old Town. The bartender was up-beat and friendly. It was daytime so we ordered inside then picked a table on the porch/deck. Self-service water was helpful :) We tried a flight of 4 so we could decide what we wanted for a full pour. I absolutely loved the watermelon cider--light, refreshing, not too sweet and not to heavy on the watermelon. Perfect! My husband enjoyed the IPA's...but I do want to note that there were other choices besides IPAs. Upon arrival we were hoping to get some light food to share. Then we saw the snack choices were limited and almost passed completely. BUT we decided to try the NM Sunset Popcorn...so glad we did! It was delicious and the perfect accompaniment. We finished the container :) All in all a great place to stop for a little refreshment on a beautiful Spring day.

This was my first time trying Downshift and it was.....ok. I'm not too sure how I feel about it yet so I think I need another visit or 2 to decide if I like it or not. PROS- *Beautiful space with lots of seating. *People of all ages were hanging out getting drinks *So many local products! I appreciated seeing Leaf&Hive, Tellers, Nickel, etc. *Not just beer so anyone could find something to drink CONS- *Service . Sat at the bar and it took 20 minutes to get a drink order in then we were never checked on again. Once we saw our bartender leave without saying anything (about an hour after we were served our drinks) we had to stand in line to close our tab. * House beer was just ok. Got a flight and nothing was memorable. *Pricey. The location is great (and probably costly) but a flight of 4 2oz pours and one non-downshift beer on tap was $18. Overall, this place is ok. It's beautiful and a nice place to hang out but the beer itself was lackluster.

old fashioned - A glass of old fashioned cocktail with a cinnamon stick inside is placed on a wooden bar counter. Behind it, there are bottles of bitters and other ingredients, along with a container holding dried lemon slices. The background shows a person and a dimly lit bar setting, indicating a social drinking environment.

So happy to visit downshift again. i've been here 3 times and this time with a live band. What a great time! I had the pickletini which is a fun addition and a must try for pickle lovers!

Me oh my!!! I'm instantly in love with this place. How did I not know about this brewery?? The ambiance is that out of a movie, Old Town scenery- chile ristras galore, beautiful blue New Mexico skies, and shades of adobe make me instantly fall in love with this place. Exceptional beers are available for all newcomers from around the world, also craft cocktail's including a pickle martini ladies and gentlemen!! I can't wait to come back!

Prickly pear margarita and cervesa! - A man with gray hair and a beard is sitting at a round wooden table outdoors, smiling at the camera. He is wearing a navy blue T-shirt with a logo and sunglasses on his head. On the table, there are two drinks: a pink cocktail with a slice of dried citrus and a straw, and a yellow beverage with a lemon wedge. The background shows a patio railing, a building with a red roof, and a clear blue sky, indicating a sunny day.

We were in Old Town on a weekday and decided to stop at Downshift for some "refreshment" The beer selection is decent. I had a prickly pear margarita and it was delicious! No food here. We sat out on the balcony and watched the people in the area. There were two guys playing music in the courtyard (live music is always a plus for us!) We enjoyed the visit here.

Tamarind Margarita & Blackberry Sour - Two cocktails with lemon slices and ice are shown on a light-colored wooden table. One drink has a salted rim and a light color, while the other is darker with visible bubbles and black peppercorns. The drinks are served in short glasses, and the setting appears to be in a bar or restaurant environment.

Cute spot to get a drink in Old Town after shopping. Has very limited food options so if you're hungry would suggest otherwise. I had the blackberry sour and my mom had Tamarindo Margarita which were ok and overpriced. There was live music playing which was nice and plenty of seating.

:Downshift Brewing Co - The image shows a group of people seated around a dark wooden table inside a brewery or restaurant. There are drinks, including glasses of red wine and other beverages, on the table along with potted plants as decoration. In the background, a bar area with a bartender working on a laptop is visible, with a wooden wall and shelves holding various items. A large light fixture with exposed bulbs hangs above the table, and a sign reading 'ORDER HERE' is mounted on the wall behind the bar.

Enjoyed our free drinks from our Elite Yelp Event. They serve craft beers from our area as well as Sheehan wine. I was most appreciative because I am b Not a beer enthusiast. Comfortable setting above Sheehan Tasting Room. Nice for 2 or a larger group. Enjoyed the waite staff and the ambiance. Great place to take friends. Like the Old Town revitalization that has been taking place!

This is hands down my favorite brewery and cocktail bar in Albuquerque. I absolutely love the location because Old Town is my favorite place in the entire city. It's absolutely beautiful and I love that you can sit on the balcony patio and get great views of the plaza. The service is always good and friendly. I love that they change the menu around during the different seasons. I also love that they host trivia night.

Elephants of parade - A transparent glass containing amber-colored beer is positioned on a dark, reflective table surface. The background shows other drinks, including a glass of beer and a glass of water, indicating a social or bar setting. The lighting highlights the clarity and color of the beverage.

We were here for trivia night on Thursday. It's a very cute place right in old town. Love the atmosphere. I didn't quite like my beer but I'm sure there will be something I like. I'll try another drink next time. The trivia was a lot of fun so we may come back again for that! The staff were great!

    Nice

Great beer on tap here. Wow! Never been inside and it is great. Couches, tables, etc have to check the place out Lots of room staff is great

Cute indoor outdoor bar off the Square - A vertical signboard mounted on a beige exterior wall of a building features the logo and name of Downshift Brewing. The sign indicates that the brewery is now open and serves craft beer, wine, and spirits. The sign also includes social media handles and contact information. A window with a white frame is visible nearby, showing part of the interior with chairs and tables. The setting appears to be in a commercial or retail area.

We needed to escape the searing sun of the day while browsing around Old Albuquerque and decided to stop in for an afternoon cocktail. It was a great choice, served quickly and we sat out in the balcony which has terrific views out over the Plaza and old Basilica. Perfect location to sit relax & people watch. They have a great selection of cocktails and a super relaxed vibe here.

I am so glad I happened upon Downshift while wandering Old Town! The vibes here are so cute. I would love to come here with friends. The staff was super kind and the beer (I tried two) was amazing. I would recommend to anyone in the area!

Outside view - A street scene featuring a two-story building with a balcony on the left, parked cars along the street, and a tent with a BBQ sign in the foreground. The sky is cloudy with some patches of blue, and there are people visible on the balcony and walking on the sidewalk.
