The Tasting Room offers a variety Gruet wines (flights, glasses, and bottles) and lite food offerings. I had the Vinters Flight, a sample of full bodied reds. There was a great aroma when they were delivered to the table. I paired that with small Charcuterie plate that had a combination of meat, chese, fruit, veg, nuts and more. A good value when compared to others locations. The tasting room is situated inside a beautiful building with an inviting entrance. The service was friendly and attentive. There is a lot of seating. Starting with bar area tables, a more formal area, a 'barrel room', and also a small private table that can be reserved. Outdoor seating includes a nice cozy patio as well as natural area w/ trees and umbrellas and a rock fountains. Too bad it's next to the freeway, however it was still very enjoyable to dine outside.

Bottom line: Gruet is still a star and wow have they stepped it up. Eat, drink and be merry here! Service: All the staff have always been pleasant and we really enjoy the events they host. If you aren't on their email list, you should be! Ambiance: I love this place because there are times it's quiet and others there's lots of people. Oh and don't forget to check out the outside seating if that's your thing. There are some wonderful spaces. I like being at the bar or in the back near the wine barrels. On this occasion we had a very special treat and rejoined the wine club because of it. They had an amazing offering of caviar and still + sparkling wine. Check out the pictures below. We really enjoyed ourselves and we can't wait to do it again

A delightful evening on the patio! Fire pit kept us warm, service was AMAZING (thanks, Sam!) and wine was lovely. I enjoy the Brut and Blanc de noir bubbly. Both solid, straightforward and very drinkable. My guest enjoyed the premium bubbly flight & an additional Sauvage. The way to go is ordering by the glass. There is a required corkage fee when purchasing a bottle to enjoy on site. It changed my approach to the evening, but nonetheless, a delightful experience. A perfectly peaceful Friday night, stars above, family and good wine. I highly recommend.

We have always had a wonderful experience at this tasting room. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. Our most recent visit acquainted us with Skye, a fabulous server who spent time talking with us both as well as provide outstanding service. The sparkling wines are our favorites and we always come away with a bottle or two. We are also fans of their charcuterie board. If you are in the area, this is a must visit! Make a reservation as they can get busy.

Love this spot for some wine tasting in the NE heights! They've got a great charcuterie board to pair with the wine options, and staff are friendly and welcoming. The whole environment is casual and chill, and it doesn't tend to get overly packed or noisy.

I recommend doing their sparkling wine flight, as this is what they are known for. We had a reservation to taste at the "cave" room. When we got there there service was a bit lacking, having to wait to even be greeted and to get someone to take our order after being seated. The girl who served us did not seem too friendly at the time but then realized she just had a dry personality and as we engaged her in conversation, we got to see her trying, smiling more and more pleasant. I really enjoyed the flight, which included a sparkling rose. The pours are generous, and after we enjoyed a glass of the one we liked most. The tasting rooms and outside are very nice, clean, and would love to go back to try some other of their wines and have another glass of their bubbly.

    Gruet Winery dinner

Went to a dinner at Gruet with a friend. They bring in a chef to create and serve the dinner . Your alcohol is a glass of their brut champagne ... it was delicious. Ms Martinez is a private chef. The dinner of posole, salad, bread and dessert (mini pumpkin donuts) was absolutely delicious. They listed the time from 6 to 8M. The seating area is small as is the parking lot. Not being a Member of the Gruet Wine Club we didn't know the setup. Turned out OK. Shared a table in the bar with a gal and her boyfriend. Meagan is a Club Member at Gruet and a residential realtor as was her friend. Had a delightful dinner with great conversation. My disappointment was that there was only one glass of champagne. The cost of the event was $45 plus tax... essentially $50. Thought it was a bit pricey. Did share a gless of the Rose wine with my friend. We paid for it. The Staff at Gruet was exceptional. We agreed to go back for a tasting in the near future.

Loved this cute wine tasting room! The servers were so nice and the flights of champagne were a great price!

This is two separate reviews: one of the winery itself on any given day and one of their brunch that requires a pre-purchased ticket. A gf and I went to Gruet on a random Saturday for wine flights and nibbles. The staff was friendly and informative. They have a membership available that gives you a set amount of bottles per season and a free glass for you and a friend. My friend ended up signing up. We got a couple flights and a couple glasses as well as a charcuterie board. Don't go there expecting real food like I did. I should also mention that there's not a lot of seating and the side room we sat in got very loud when a boisterous group sat down close to us. All in all, I'd give this place a 3/5. The same gf and I decided to try this place on a Sunday brunch which required buying tickets a month in advance. We had heard good things and since the tickets sell out, we had high expectations. The same nice staff were there and the same wine selections of course. We heard the food was catered by M'Tucci's which is supposed to be a good Italian restaurant (but I've never been). The food was just sad. For $50/person I was expecting a decent spread buffet style or a small a la cart menu with bottomless mimosas. What we got was one plate of cold food served on a plastic plate with plasticware and a 4 glass limit. The eggs Benedict sat on tough super chewy English muffins that were so hard my friend broke a tine off her plastic fork trying to cut through it. It was accompanied by a reheated danish that could've come from Costco (no shade to Costco but it didn't taste fresh). The bubbly did come with an assortment of freshly squeezed juices to make your own mimosas. I would/will absolutely never come back for brunch. The only saving grace was how nice the staff are. Overall 3/5 for brunch.

This winery has also been on my list for quite some time, since my parents moved to ABQ 4-ish years ago. It seems my most recent visit to the city was basically a ticking-things-off-the-wishlist kind of trip. We stopped in on a weekend, after a long hike and having already sampled some local hard cider. We were greeted and given a quick run down of how tastings work. We sat ourselves at a high top table in the center of the tasting area and perused the menu. From there, table service for tasting is offered. There is also a bar that you can stand and do a tasting at, but you are not left high and dry if you opt to sit at a table. Daniel was a great tasting host! Knowledgeable and friendly, quick with the tasting notes and ready to answer any dumb question we threw his way. Again, as I was there with family, we decided to get different flights to maximize our sampling options. My mom and sister got the daily tasting flight, and I opted for the Vintage Sparkling Flight. They specialize in dry sparkling wines. So if you are all about the sweets...you may not love the offerings here. I tend to prefer sweeter wines, but I am always ALWAYS down to try new things. And I was very happy with everything I got to sample! I didn't buy anything to take with me, as it would be difficult to transport home to another state. But we had such an enjoyable experience and a great time here, I would absolutely return in a future visit. Absolutely worth stopping in if you are in the ABQ!

    Flagship flight, delish!

We loved our visit here! Being so close to Napa and Sonoma wine country, I've had my fair share of wine tasting experiences. Gruet not only tasted great, but the experience was exactly like it is in Napa. It was a beautiful venue with tasteful decor throughout. The staff was very engaging and friendly and the prices were totally reasonable. It's super random that such a great winery is off the freeway by itself in Albuquerque, but will absolutely come back any time I'm in town!

    I'm so ready for this.
    Renata H.

I'm flew into ABQ to visit my friend. She is a member and wanted to bring me to the winery. It was amazing. The Brut Rose was amazing and the team members weee very friendly and knowledgeable. I would definitely go back. A must stop when visit Albuquerque.

    Custom flight option

Loved the wines, more than I was expecting. Excellent bubblies (and stills too!) at reasonable prices. Nice little outdoor space and the interior was lovely too. The building exterior could use updating, but don't let that stop you from visiting.

We had a reservation for 11:30am and arrived on time, but ended up waiting outside for about 10 minutes with no staff in sight. We called multiple times for assistance before anyone came out. To make matters worse, the friend who made the reservation was never informed that brunch is held in the private club and not the e restaurant, which caused unnecessary confusion right from the start. Once a waiter finally found us, we were taken to the private club where we were told they only had three brunch menu items available that day. We ordered immediately, along with waters and mimosas. Keep in mind, there were only two tables total--our group of three and another group of seven--so it wasn't busy. Despite that, service was extremely slow. It took 20 minutes just to get our mimosas, and our waters were forgotten and didn't come out until another 10 minutes later. Our food took about 40 minutes, which felt excessive given how few people were there. Even more frustrating, my friends' meals came out about 10 minutes before mine. There's really no reason meals at the same table shouldn't be served together. The food itself was just okay. The only standout was the French toast, which was actually really good--and honestly the only reason this review isn't one star. I also ordered coffee and was told they don't carry creamer, which is surprising for a place offering brunch. Our waitress rarely checked on us throughout the meal, which added to the overall lack of service. Between the confusion, long wait times, and lack of attention, this experience didn't meet expectations. I won't be returning.

The Corrales…read moreBike & Wine Tour could (and should) be a defining celebration of this antiquated, lovely little town north of Albuquerque. I've lived here nearly 20 years, and this tour opened my eyes to the breadth of Corrales I'd never previously known. It's a great bike ride and a smart way to taste some craft wineries. A twelve mile loop, you can plan to spend an afternoon leisurely sipping some tasty pours and exploring this territory. My basic perceptions: Corrales needs to get behind this, support it, and provide a safe cycling lane, a big one, for the entirety of the event. From the get-go, the loop didn't feel safe for cyclists. The Duke City Marathon, for example, allows runners an avenue (the bosque trail) to run free. The same should be true for this tour, moreso because the riders have sipped a few glasses. On the day of the Tour there should be a well regulated and carefully policed lane for cyclists. Some idiot honked at me when I attempted to pass another biker on the road. I didn't tell him/her then, but I'll say it now: fuck off, asshat. We own the road as much as you do. The wineries that represent are typical of New Mexican vino, a smattering of sweet stuff and a few adventurous pours. TAKE A MOUNTAIN BIKE, the ride to Corrales Winery will not support your street bike. Come for the adventure. I never knew this tiny town had a flourishing suburban heart, and I was thrilled to discover the outskirts, even if they looked precisely like Rio Rancho proper. Good wine, good ride, good times. First of my friends and I are in no means "great shape" I would say we are your average moms. If you're not an expert bike rider like us, here are some tips if you decide to try it in August or next year. First, if you're not familiar with area, check out the map and take a quick cruise to see if it's something you can do. Pack plenty of water and some snacks to enjoy while you rest at each stop. My friends and I packed some fruit, cheese and crackers and it kept us energized. My last piece of advice would be to definitely wear a helmet. It's not mandatory, but the ride is mostly along a busy road. Better to be safe than sorry right? It was a great experience, friends and I had a blast and it was great to try the different wines. At the end of the tour, they had a Jazz band and food for everyone so that made the experience even better. Oh and if you buy a bottle at one of the wineries, you don't have to worry about how you're going to carry it because they have this great service that picks up your bottle(s) from the wineries with your name on them and you can claim them at the end. I recommend this event for any wine lover. My friends and I will be doing it again next year.
