Global Auto Repair in Tolleson is, in my experience, the best auto repair shop in the area. I say…read morethis having been to five different shops over the years. They don't have a fancy website, or even a dedicated email address and texting system. Nor do they provide elaborate diagnostic spreadsheets to customers electronically. It's old school all the way. No frills. Dial their phone number, tell them your problem and drop-off your vehicle. They don't do appointments. Despite these 21st century shortcomings I've had nothing but positive experiences at Global and that's saying a lot considering the charlatans that exist in the auto repair industry. I've taken three cars there over the years and while there has always been a lengthy turn-around, I've never been nickeled and dimed with bill-bloating diagnostics or exorbitant shop supply fees. You bring it in, they give you a quote, they solve the issue and deliver the vehicle for the price agreed upon. I can't say enough good things about Global. I only wish they were closer.

I now trust Champs Family Auto to work on any of my vehicles or RVs. If you're looking for knowledgeable, honest, and professional mechanics, I highly recommend them.

I brought my 2021 VW Tiguan to Champs Automotive because it was overheating, going into limp mode,…read moreand displaying a check engine light related to low coolant flow (P00B7). Like most customers, I'm not a technician. I brought my vehicle to a professional repair shop expecting an accurate diagnosis and honest communication. Champs diagnosed the issue as a failed thermostat and water pump and recommended replacing both. I approved the repair because I trusted they had identified the root cause. That trust turned out to be misplaced. After paying for the repairs and being told my vehicle was fixed, I picked it up. Within approximately an hour, the exact same symptoms returned: overheating, limp mode, and the check engine light. The problem I paid to have fixed was still there. I brought the vehicle back, expecting a deeper investigation. Instead, the process dragged on with inconsistent communication. Days would pass without meaningful updates, forcing me to repeatedly contact them about my own vehicle. The vehicle was returned to me again. The same problem returned. This cycle repeated multiple times. Eventually, you stop feeling like your vehicle is being diagnosed and start feeling like you're participating in a guessing game. What bothers me most isn't the money. I understand automotive repairs are expensive and complex problems exist. What bothers me is that the original diagnosis did absolutely nothing to resolve the issue that brought me there. Had they told me, "We believe it's the thermostat and water pump, but there may be deeper electrical or ECU-related issues requiring additional diagnosis," I would have respected that honesty. Instead, I repeatedly received a vehicle exhibiting the exact same symptoms. Another red flag was when complimentary services started being offered. While some customers might appreciate that, it didn't inspire confidence. I wasn't looking for free services. I wanted my vehicle properly diagnosed and repaired. Eventually, I was informed that the vehicle might need an ECU repair costing thousands more. That raises a simple question: If the ECU was a possible cause, why wasn't that discussed before replacing major components and repeatedly returning my vehicle as repaired? I understand vehicles can be difficult to diagnose and technicians are human. What I don't understand is how a customer can pay for repairs, experience the exact same failure within an hour, repeat that cycle multiple times, and still have no resolution. The outcome was simple: I brought them a vehicle with overheating issues and a check engine light. I paid for repairs intended to fix those issues. The same problems repeatedly returned, and I ultimately took my vehicle home with the check engine light still on. Everyone can draw their own conclusions. I would not trust Champs Automotive with another vehicle. I strongly encourage anyone considering major repairs to ask detailed questions, demand clear communication, and consider a second opinion before authorizing expensive work. UPDATE: I took my vehicle to a reputable European vehicle mechanic who determined there was nothing wrong with the ECU. The actual issue was my battery. Once I replaced it, all the problems went away. I'm not sure why Champs decided to respond to my review when, at the end of the day, they failed to properly diagnose my vehicle and left me with an unresolved problem. After multiple visits, unnecessary frustration, and being told I might need another $2,000 repair, a simple battery replacement resolved everything. Instead of acknowledging their failure to diagnose the issue, they chose to respond publicly. The fact remains that I paid for repairs that didn't solve my problem, and another mechanic identified the actual issue. If you own a European vehicle, avoid Champs Automotive at all costs.

The team took the time to inspect the vehicle thoroughly, explain their findings, and discuss my options before any work was performed. I asked them to inspect my tires because a well-known chain repair shop had told me I needed new tires, but Litchfield Auto confirmed my current tires were well within specifications, saving me nearly $1,000 on an unnecessary replacement set. The work I authorized included a cooling system service, oil change, repair of the windshield washer system, diagnosis of an inoperative cigarette lighter, and replacement of the battery. Although replacement parts for my windshield washer system were no longer available, they took the time to develop a workaround that resulted in a system that works better than the original did. What stood out most was their professionalism, communication, and attention to detail, especially from Jenny, my service advisor. It can be challenging to find a shop willing to work carefully on a 26-year-old vehicle, but the team treated my Cavalier with respect and kept me informed throughout the process. The repairs were completed as discussed, and the vehicle was returned in excellent operating condition. I appreciate the quality of the work and the customer service I received. Based on this experience, as well as a previous visit where they performed major repairs on my Cavalier, I would not hesitate to return to Litchfield Auto Repair for future maintenance and repairs. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for an honest, knowledgeable, and professional automotive repair shop.

When I could not pass emissions, the dealership just told me that it was the drive cycle and I had to "drive it out." Champs took my car, drove it around for me, then they could not get the drive cycle to register and pass like myself... then they started looking at the sensors. BY THE WAY, they didn't charge me for the hours of shop time they actually spent since they could not get the car to finish the drive cycle! They changed out all 4 O2 sensors at a much lower price than the dealer (I called and got a quote), and still didn't rack up my shop-time portion of the bill last second. It was very fair! I also got 4 new tires here, that I KNOW were almost half the price of Discount Tire (same thing, I called and got a quote). Lastly, I had my A/C switch replaced, which was melted. Same thing again... fair price on the part, one hour of shop time, and I walked out happy again! I am a picky consumer, and I also shop around to ensure I get a good deal and don't overpay... so for me to go back not twice, but a third time, I'd say this is a fair car shop to deal with!!
