This has been a great library that I often go to because it has a nice old fashion feel to it yet is also able to adapt to the modern sensibilities of today's generation. There's a bookstore inside, programs that you can get involved with, resources you can access, and a good staff. A sizable amount of my childhood was spent at the libraries in my schools and city. Henceforth, I've always been partial to visiting these institutions, which led to me selecting this location to collect vote-by-mail (VBM) ballots for the Riverside Registrar of Voters leading up to the Presidential Primary Election in early 2024. I spent many hours observing the patrons and employees, as well as wandering the facility, and these are the results. First, the location is excellent. Not far from the municipal buildings, fairly close to the 91 Freeway, and on the lower edge of the sloping foothills that makes Corona one of the least efficient cities to travel around. Fortunately, the library doesn't share that flaw. Inside is a long hallway lined with the circulation desk and many displays of artwork and Lego models. These are rotating decor, but it's fun to watch kids casting votes for the best item. Another grand hallway joins perpendicular to the main one and this leads to the extensive children's section, and also has passport services and a sizeable Friends of the Library bookstore (separate review for that). Computers, conference rooms, instructional classrooms, and study rooms are available. A couple other favorite areas Include the large boardgame section and Teens area with its impressive selection of Manga anime and studyhall. Even if the same bad middleschool kids got kicked out almost daily for being loud and obnoxious, it was entertaining. A co-worker commented one day after the second or third incident: "There's the instigator, the girl with the red sneakers." Good times. I truly appreciate having a local library in our community. They offer a variety of programs, including storytimes for different age groups, which is wonderful to see. However, I wanted to share an experience in hopes that it might encourage more inclusive practices. When my son was 5, I brought him to the preschool storytime. We were told that the program was only for children who could sit in their spot for the duration. Because my son has special needs and cannot always sit for long periods, we were advised to attend the baby/toddler storytime instead. While I understand the desire for structure, it was heartbreaking that he couldn't participate with other children his own age. Inclusion matters, and children with special needs deserve opportunities to learn and socialize alongside their peers whenever possible. I hope the library will consider offering more flexible or sensory-friendly options in the future so that all children can feel welcome and included. Our community is stronger when every child has a place to belong. read more

I grew up in the Corona Library decades ago. This is not a library other than it's a building that holds books. This library is basically a hangout for Sevita Caregivers, to come and gather and visit, CHAT and disrespect the patrons that are here to study or work, Quietly on projects. And this is just from the Caseworkers. The Caseworkers have no idea that a library is sacred to silence. They sit at tables while now watching their clients, and talk to each other. Some are worse than others. If you want to hang out together to chat, go to starbucks. Unfortunately, I've had the displeasure of being in the restroom while two males where masturbating, one at the urinal and one in the stall. If you want what the sanctity of a Library historically has been, Don't Come to The Corona Public Library. It has the ambience of a social gathering, not a place to study or learning. They recently started renovations inside, walling off a good portion of the facility, which sadly removed so many of the electrical outlets that the Public needs for their studies, for laptops and such. What the Library failed to do is supply additional outlets in other areas of the now condensed building. Oh and this project is supposed to last until June of this summer. This is based on the interaction I had with their social media team on instagram. Whoever is running it should really seek employment elsewhere they have no customer service skills and are a disgrace to the library. If you promote your bookshop so much maybe have an accurate link for it and if I ask for a link don't tell me to go to your website because that doesn't help. Also your book shop doesn't exist it takes us to a blank Amazon screen but I really hope you train that associate and didn't hire them to meet certain demographics! I came here to renew my Passport. It was my first time here but it was easy to follow. There were signs directing you to the check-in location (which is the very first window to the left of the entrance) where they will verify you have all the documents needed. Then you're directed to their waiting area at the passport office which is a short walk. I was given a pager, like the ones from restaurants. There was only one bench that was occupied but I found additional seating further down. I didn't wait long. Lisa was friendly and greeted me and made this process easy and smooth. read more

So it was my first time coming to this library with my husband and daughter and when we signed up for the library card the girl who was wearing glasses was kinda rude to us not only did we not feel welcomed but she was annoyed by issuing out a library card to me and my husband told my husband that she can only do one library card cause they close soon and my husband was like no we have time since your cut off time was 7:45 pm and it was barely 7:35 and she just didn't look like she was very friendly to us. I hope next time we go we don't encounter her again. Super rude and no customer service :/ read more

I don't know that I full appreciated the Corona Public Library until I moved away from the city and saw other local equivalents in other suburbs. The space is absolutely massive, with a wide selection of books catering to kids, adults and teenagers. It's kept wonderfully clean and the staff is always friendly. Beyond the books, there's even more to love. When you consider things like the desks and quiet-room offices, the second floor which is devoted to art installations, and the new Maker Room, this is a library that truly punches above it's weight. Not to mention all the programs to take advantage of and volunteer opportunities. It's one of my favorite places in Corona and a library that puts many branches in bigger cities like LA to shame in terms of its quality. read more

I am blown away by the kind souls at this library. We had an appointment at the passport center but couldn't make it in time. The lady at the entrance told us they will try to fit us in if there was a cancellation. We didn't have much hope but after a few minutes of wait she guided us to the passport center . A very kind man, patiently helped us with the forms and we were on our way. The sweet lady at the entrance office and the kind man (Aaron), at the passport service center made us feel very happy that day considering how we came in rushing and worried about missing the appointment time. The library is huge and well maintained. I love the children's section. They have a play area and some toys too which my toddler loves. read more

Hands-down, one of the best/largest public library book stores in the area. They have a huge selection at great prices. Side-note...Just make sure you add up the cost of your books prior to checking out. I've been over charged (more that $10) twice. I have 4 young kids. And only one of them can go to story time. The other ones literally have to win the lottery to go. They only allow 22 kids in the community to go to the story time for 4 and older. And you have to stand in line outside the library before it opens in hopes to get a "number" to attend . Why don't they just have the Storytime after the baby story time idk. Also the childrens books are organized in a strange way. It's arranged by topic then by author. So weird. Also a majority of the children's books are old very old. Which is fine but maybe it's time to start thinking about getting rid of the old and investing in some newer books. read more

This library is awesome!! 5 stars!! The friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness of the place, organization and ambience are excellent! I could stay here all day long. In fact, when I come here and visit, I stay as much as I can. If you're a parent and looking for a place to bring and entertain your kiddos-this is the place to take them. Learning and reading will be so much for them. They have study rooms that you can use and reserve ahead of time- which I love and prefer to use when I come here. (I suggest to bring your own ear plugs if you really want it to be quiet. It gets loud sometimes. Kids are mostly passing by this area going to children's section) They offer a variety of services including passport processing and renewal. They have monthly activities for kids. They have an area for teens to hang out and do their School homework. This library is very spacious. They also have a second floor. Overall, it's pretty good! Make sure to get your own library card. The Corona Public Library is a go-to place for more than just books. Around the holidays, they feature local talent doing Xmas concerts. And it's free. My latest experience here was last night. They featured world renowned Paraguayan harpist, Alfredo Ortiz. He is a long-time resident of this bedroom community, Corona. Once a year he does a Xmas concert at the library and half of it is devoted just for the kids in the audience. It is a hands on experience, and wonderful to watch. Several of the smaller children were dancing and twirling, and totally moved by the music. Oh, that we could be so uninhibited! And how often do we see children with long attention spans? Music, ala Alfredo, does wonders. Alfredo is a stellar artist, easy to talk to, and a wealth of information. His concerts (I have been to many) are informative as well as entertaining. He will stop in between pieces and talk about his folk harp, it's history, his education. The music is South American, syncopated, folksy. Fascinating. Usually his concerts cost. And always well worth the price. So, if you ever get a chance, this is a small but wonderful concert around the holidays. Keep your eyes open and enjoy him for free. read more

Libraries are a national treasure, my parents were always at the library and passed that gift along to me. I didn't want to move to Corona, but the city sure got it right with this library. Came here to get my passport because I didn't feel like going to a post office where it's always rushed. You have to make an appointment and fill out your paperwork ahead of time. Once you get there you check in and the employees at the front check your forms, and help you fix any mistakes. Once inside the passport room the employees are extremely helpful and patient. My family has been going to this library for nearly 20 years and it holds a special place in our hearts. Besides the sentimental value, it truly is a great library. Very spacious with extra perks like study rooms, a mini museum display upstairs, the fact that there is an upstairs, a large meeting room, a book store, and even passport service though I think that's paused for COVID. The bookstore is full of treasures. I'd check their website for updates but I believe the bookstore is only open on certain days during certain hours and they limit capacity and provide gloves. The ladies who work there are super sweet. The only reason I can't give 5 stars is because of this one particular lady I keep running into at the information desk towards the back. She's in charge of the computers and whatnot and is the most unhelpful, non customer service minded person I've encountered. Their online system to send docs to their printer stinks. It always seems to glitch and each time I've approached this lady, she seems annoyed that I'm asking for help and then just shrugs and says idk the system isn't working. No offer to help with anything, no providing other options. I've learned to bring my flash drive and just use one of the computers to print my stuff. It's been such a pain that I probably won't ever use their printing service again. But that lady, man oh man, that special little lady with the glasses and the IDGAF look plastered on her face needs to find a new job where she doesn't have to work with the public because she clearly doesn't like it and can't even fake liking it. read more

One thing I miss from childhood are books and libraries. Pretty soon the way I see it, books will be nonexistent and all the ebooks and audiobooks are going to take over as far as convenience and saving trees go. Still it's nice to come to a library where you can sit, read a book, study, whatever your heart desires (except breaking a certain noise barrier) After getting my library card, I had my own agendas but got distracted by the second floor. I was curious so I went up the stairs and found a couple of paintings, mixed media, photographs, and watercolors put out by the local highschool, elementary, and junior high kids. While hanging out on the second floor, I had a bird's eye view of where I could hang out. I decided to go to the Northern most part of the library and took note of the office where you can apply for a passport....really? (Wow, nice!) While finding a nice little alcove, I overheard some people check out a laptop...really? Didn't know you can even do that. Obviously I've not been in the library for a long while. I got so distracted from everything around me that I figured I should come back the next day. They had so much tables, study cubicles, and rooms where you can do study groups. There was so many things to see and it was nice and clean. The people who worked there were nice as well. Man I wish I was a librarian. read more

When I was studying for the LSAT, I checked out a study room and was told I could only reserve it for a limited amount of time (like 2 hours?) but despite other patrons popping in and out of the neighboring rooms, the librarian allowed me to use the room for the entire day. I feel very appreciative to her for allowing me that time because I was able to really collect my thoughts and focus on the test materials thoroughly, more so than if I had set up shop in one of the study carrels. However, there are some prime spots for studying towards the back of the library by the Teens section, I believe, and on the upper floor in the art gallery - if they aren't already taken, that is. After college, it is surprisingly difficult finding a decent place to study quietly but this library worked for me when I needed it. I like this library not only because it hosts a decent study venue but it has a well-segregated children's section to the left, a passport service, cafe, art gallery showcasing local artists, a heritage room of local artifacts, and a cool zen fountain near the entrance. Not bad for Corona. Not bad indeed. ;) read more

Wow, the corona public library is 3 stories of greatness. Who ever thought a public library would be so cool? Well I'm a big fan now and love to come here for some quite time while reading and educated myself on history amongst other things. The facility is huge and super clean and makes you feel like you never want to leave. Seems like all of the corona high school kids come here after school, well at least the smart ones come to study and knock out their homework. Awesome! I feel if more people knew about this place it would make reading cool for the kids that don't really like to read. The only issues I have with this place is some of the people that come here. I mean there are some legit crazos that come here. I'm in the middle of a story and I hear this lady on the phone from across the room complaining someone about here job. C'mon man! The worst part about it was she was disturbing us for about 20min with not one employee telling here to shut up. That's when I took matters in my own hands and handled the situation with class. I just love this library!! I've been coming here primarily for the Itty Bitty Time which is every Wednesday, and that is a 20-minute story telling, singing and dancing for infants to 3 year-olds. I love it when Ms. Dani is there for the Itty Bitty time, my daughter just loves her! Another thing I love about this library is the study rooms. One can reserve a study room 1 week ahead thru phone or in person. I will definitely keep coming back here for their activities and for the books! read more

I've gone to the Corona Public Library for many years. It's always been a great place to find books and do projects or research things. My last visit a couple months ago, it has changed a bit. The library was a lot louder than I remembered. With teenagers running around and playing in the library. So might not be the best for a quiet place to read anymore. But I came here because they have passport services. When you enter the library, turn left after you pass the reception desk and you will find an office on the left. That is the passport services office. I would suggest making an appointment online at the Corona Public Library website to avoid long lines. The lady that does passports has odd hours and isn't always there during the library hours. That being said, when she is there- expect a long line and wait time! People are excited to get traveling lol Make sure you check the website ahead of time and bring the required documents (ID, social, birth certificate) as she will need all of that to process your request. read more

I come to this library pretty frequently to use the computer or print a couple things. It has a convenient location and the computers work pretty well. It is usually pretty quiet and I like that the work areas are spread out so I can sit somewhere quiet and work or use the computer. I have also been to several events here and they do a good job with that as well. This is probably one of the better libraries in the Inland Empire, as I have visited several and none measure up to this one. It was very easy to obtain a library card and use the computer. The workers are all very friendly and helpful! My only concern is the antiquated machine that takes quarters to print. You'd think that by now, they would have some automated cards or something!!! read more

Can't recommend enough! Great selection and the staff are so friendly and helpful! I went to get a card after moving back to corona and the lady at the desk helped me get my card and also helped me find several very specified books! They have a great e-book reader program that I love. Their YouTube page is great, too, the maker videos are so cool and relaxing to watch and listen to! I love their little library store as they have the dollar bag program and they have study rooms you can use! They also have several social programs, you can get your bus pass and sign up for WIC here, too! AMAZING! This is by far my favorite building, architecturally speaking, in Corona. I think it's remodel was nearly almost two decades ago. This is such a great place and I wish more people utilized it. The Library has changed immensely since I was a little toddler coming for story time in the Children's reading room. Rest assured, story time is still a thing but a lot has changed. First of all, they have an entire young adult/teen reading room that is really decked out technologically for group studying. It does not get utilized enough, which is a shame! I am going to place blame on society dragging kids away from the library after they have turned twelve years old. They always do summer reading programs that encourage you to keep reading over summer. They have programs for adults and kids- all ages welcome to participate. Everyone working in the library is typically friendly, knows what they're talking about, and surprisingly patient. Every time I ask for help, they always do their best to answer all my questions. Computers have a two hour limit to ensure there is always one available if you need to look up a book or check your email. There's also computers in multiple locations, so that's helpful. Books are organized by age groups and then within the age groups. If you have ever learned a library system before, this one is pretty straightforward. They also have Passport services on the second floor of the library, just make sure you make an appointment first to expedite the process. They used to have a cafe, I think it's closed down. Which is too bad because it was a fun place to hang out with my friends, from what I remember. I bet half of it has to do with the fact it got kind of noisy next to the cafe because of kids hanging out. They still sell secondhand books at the library though, so woot woot. And I am pretty sure tutoring still occurs during the weekdays after school for your kids (targeted age group is definitely elementary school kids, with middle school kids welcome but not really high schoolers since it's high schoolers tutoring). Now you get emails about when your books are due and reminders when the date is approaching. Yay, technology. Cheers to the Corona Public Library. read more
