I wish to thank Cornerstone Restoration, their crews and specifically Bill Jew for their recently completed restoration project on my home. After a derecho, I could see widespread physical hail damage. Knowing there are numerous scam operators in the home restoration industry, I contacted a trusted friend who was actually in the business before relocating out of the area. She facilitated a meeting with Bill Jew, whom she had worked with. After the initial meeting with Bill, I immediately felt at ease. After introducing himself, he showed me all the certificates, licensing and insurance documents and assured me they had been doing business locally for decades. After my insurance gave the go ahead, Bill sat with me and explained the entire process. Bill Jew is extremely knowledgeable and professional. He explained what code upgrades would be required and the reasons for them. Bill was present thorough the entire process, even power washing an awning so it wouldn't sit like a wart on the new exterior. The Cornerstone construction crews were all professional and very efficient. They completed their work so quickly, I would have thought that timeframe to be impossible. We had to sell our house because a tree hit it, Cornerstone Originally in April 2023 the claim was made, the house was Flooding from the roof by the gallons, they sent a non employee drug addict to try and tarp the roof, The house kept flooding worse and worse. Everything in the house got damaged. State Farm said to deal with the roof first then to deal with the interior damage, Everyone dropped the ball. Our dogs got sick. My wife got chest infections from mold, One year later, we're living in black mold, floods insects, electrical boxes blowing out, after Jason, the owner and Cynthia the manager received $32,000 from Allstate insurance, they decided to jack up the estimate to 74,000 the day of the job, because of this, we could not get the certificate for warranty and sell our house accordingly, they are the biggest scammers I've ever met, once they receive their money, they jacked the estimate to 74,000 and had no contact with us months and months after, once they realize that there was fraud involved, they lowered the price to 43,000, but all this time we sold the house and cannot receive our funds because cornerstones adjuster and State Farm adjuster can't get it right for months and months because there's so much fraud involved, we suffered worse than any people I could imagine when it comes to this, Im Mikie Da Poet, very reputable and honest, avoid cornerstone in Schaumburg, Illinois at all cost! Poor communication and service from Cornerstone Restoration. This company replaced our roof in 2020. We called to request service due to the roof leaking and after 3 weeks of voicemails, a contractor was scheduled for inspection. Upon arrival, contractor attempted to fix the issue with no explanation of work done or contact from the company after the inspection. The leaking roof was not fixed. We have now attempted to contact the company via voicemail, email and Facebook messenger in an attempt to have the home inspected for a 2nd time. After 2+ weeks, we have not received a call back. While we understand they are busy and need to respond to multiple requests, it is difficult to have a leaking roof for over a month without any solutions offered. read more

This is going to be a two part review, one on their customer service and one on the actual work. Work: 5 Stars We had our roof and siding replaced by Cornerstone. The work had to be done on two separate days - oh well. The work itself was fantastic. The siding looks great and they took down our shutters and put them back up after I painted them. I love how the house turned out. Customer Service: 1 Star So our saga began in July 2017. After a hail storm we decided to get our siding and roof replaced through our home insurance. We had Cornerstone come out and look at the damage. We ended up getting a new roof, siding, storm door, gutters and some window wrappings replaced. We signed in the contract around labor day and since I was due to have our first child around the time the work would be done we asked for it to be delayed two weeks. Mid-October came and we hadn't heard anything (except when they came for the large check from our insurance company). So we called - nothing. Called again - nothing. We finally heard back after we threatened to sue them for fraud. So we were finally put on the schedule to get our roof done in the second week of November. After that, we heard nothing about our siding. Called and said they would call us back - nothing. I finally called and laid into the poor woman that answered the phone and all of a sudden - they had an opening! Funny how those things work. Then due to weather, it was delayed but it was finally getting done. The siding took two days - fine. Clean Up: 1 Star So the two days came and went and when I came home on the second day there were nails, screws, garbage EVERYWHERE in our lawn. We have a dog so this was NOT okay. Then the sales guy came back a few days later to clean it up and left our gate open and our dog got out of the yard because he left the gate open after leaving. Our home was damaged during the Memorial Day hail storm. I contacted my insurance company and then on the recommendation of a neighbor, contacted Cornerstone. Radu Perkulek was the representative they assigned. Work done: - Replaced roof - Replaced skylight - Replaced gutters - Coordinated with the painter I chose to complete the work. Radu was there every step of the way, taking pictures of the work in progress and finished product. He worked with the contractors so I did not need to get involved. The materials seem to be high quality and the finished product looks great. I believe it will last for several years. read more

Bill and his crew deserve a 5 star rating for the work done to contain and repair the storm damage done to my building. Starting with an emergency temporary roof, which stopped the water penetration to the final repairs, these guys have been on top of it. Following their advice I also retained AEGIS Adjusters to assist in the communication with my insurance company. I believe that even though the holidays slowed down our process, we were able to reach settlement amounts that allowed us to repair the damage using qualified subcontractors. The end result is that I find myself with an apartment that shows no traces of the damage we experienced. Bill always returned my calls in a timely fashion and was always up to speed on progress. He personally went above and beyond to assure that I received everything that was detailed in the repair report. It made a truly dramatic event into a rather lengthy, but satisfying experience. Working with insurance companies and trying to get them to pay isn't always the easiest, Cornerstone did an outstanding job with this and did all the "behind the scenes" work and got everything done in a timely manner. Radu P. was my initial contact with Cornerstone and made me feel comfortable from Day 1, never was there an issue that he couldn't take care of. Two years ago I gave two properties to Cornerstone needing new roofs, one was my home the other an apartment building with a 6 car garage and a value around 30k in work. Up until earlier this summer I thought they did a good job until I got a call from one of my tenants stating he thought there were animals in the attic. I contacted a company and discovered we had a squirrel that had gotten in thorough an extremely rusted out chimney. I then contacted Cornerstone after I saw the condition of the chimney because it should have been replaced when the roof was done 2 years ago. I don't know about you but I don't often go up on an almost 3 story building and count on my roofing professional to tell me these things. If I would have been told my insurance company would have paid for it but since I wasn't that was another $700+ to replace it. I talked to Amanda and asked if there was any way they could do any better on the price she said she had to check and call me back....I never heard a thing.. I called numerous times and left messages only to not ever get a call back. I was to the point of calling another company however was told by the one I called they would not do the work since they didn't do the original roof. I finally get this guy named Jared who said he was a manager. He was extremely defensive. He promised me he would have Amanda call me back and he would check back to make sure I heard from her. Guess what... didn't hear from either of them... I was sitting at home eating dinner and I got a call from Cornerstone wanted to know if they could give me an estimate on a new roof because of storm damage in my area... I lost it...I told her they would not see one red cent out of me and they needed to solve my issue with my chimney first. She connected me with Jared he made not excuse for not calling me back but no apology either, he said he didn't know Amanda never got back to me (he should have called me back like he said he would to find out). He also proceeded to tell me he would take this matter over even though he already had a full plate (which I don't really care) He also told me it was the salesman's fault that the chimney wasn't included in the quote so not his fault... (I think they work for the same company, duh it is your fault). He also told me they would not adjust the price. He was very argumentative for a manager, and lacked any compassion for my situation as a customer. He supposedly talked to the owner about the price and they were not flexible after us giving them two properties with a value over 30K. In the end I had to pay over $700 for the chimney and another $300 to have the squirrel removed, all of which I wouldn't have had to pay if the job was done correctly in the first place. He listened to my concerns, and I never had a rep take pictures of the damaged areas of my roof and siding. Please do not use this company. When we had a hailstone damage on our roof we used this company. Big mistake! They were suppose to fix our roof, siding, paint interiors and fix the window water damage. They used up all payments on roofing. They said that there was not enough money to paint the house. We waited for almost 6 months and they sent us painters who came 2x in a week to our house and took forever to paint the ceiling. They still have to paint the walls of the hallway. I'm guessing "Shannon" is somebody's girlfriend. No one else here wants to see Jason again. Also he seems to be playing the address game, moving from 1228 Remington Road. Disaster. Unmitigated disaster. I hired Cornerstone to replace ALL the wood trim on my house. Mike came out, and we were very clear about the work to be done. I signed the contract, and have regretted it ever since. From grade school carpentry to "the material doesn't come in that size", it took A YEAR to get this job completed. During that time three different crews were sent out with words like "yeah, that last crew isn't our best, when we have a problem I send out this crew, they're the pros". Really? What the hell was that first crew? And why were they here? Joints on fascia board were open by AN INCH. Caulking was not even attempted (can't caulk a gap like that anyway). Complained that they couldn't replace the wood trim over the garage door because the material didn't come in that form factor. Same for the dentils on the frieze board across the front of the house. They tried to put up some crap screw together plastic dentil that wouldn't be appropriate on a backyard dollhouse. It took me five full minutes of reviewing the LP catalog to pick out all the pieces they needed to complete my house. First crew only did half the job (screwing that up), Mike neglected to properly define the work, and they forgot to replace ALL the wood trim, doing only frieze and fascia. They forgot ALL of the corner pieces. Finally, they send the "A" team. A real carpenter with a real assistant. They clean up all the mess left behind by the two previous crews, know how to cut dentils from 2x4 stock. Unfortunately, they caulk and paint about 1/3 of the soffit joints, caulk another 1/3, and just leave the last third butt jointed. I can understand their getting tired of the job, having to come to me for clear instructions on what work is to be done because Jason could not manage a cub scout picnic. I understand that his brother has left the business, and that the "A" crew has quit working for Jason due to his lack of ability to run the company. Stay away from this company. Lousy carpenters, no supervision, do not understand the material they are selling or how to install it. read more

I had to go out and purchase the correct material for the roofing job because my sales man can't do his job right, and on top of that never once got a return email or phone call. thank goodness I came home when I did because the were putting a tarp on the roof because of the weather and sealed in the chiminy in November. I signed a contract with Cornerstone back in November of 2017. The roof was approved by insurance. Then winter hit and their crews were done for the winter. No problem I understand that. Then come spring I had to constantly call my salesman when he would answer he would say I'll get you an answer and call you back. He never called back, the people in the office will lie to you and say anything to get you off the phone. I asked numerous times to speak to the owner and was promised he would call me back. Then in March my salesman finally showed back up, we picked colors, and I gave him the checks for the project. Then I had to fight back and forth with them to get a installation date. The office said well we have over 200 roofs to do so...... Then they had another inspection scheduled with my insurance which i did not know about. They were trying to get more money out of them because they realized the original quote was not enough for them. The inspection was rescheduled due to weather, I finally demanded an install date and the woman in the office called me back and said sorry but we are sending your money back. WTF? Are you kidding me? I just spent all that time over the last 6 months dealing with you and you end up dropping me. Today I just got a call from their sales department asking if I wanted to get a quote to have my roof done. Seriously?! Update your records. read more

So, here's the story....I just happened to run across an ad that had an Ugly Window Contest. I joined and WON 7 free windows. I thought "this has to be too good to be true...there is no way I am this lucky, or a company is going to just hand over 7 free windows plus installation and any other fees. Well, Cornerstone Exteriors did JUST THAT. Not only did they call me the day I won to congratulate me, they scheduled an appointment the next day to come out and measure. Now, I'm thinking "what's the catch?"....Not only was there NO catch...they gave me top of the line windows and other extras at absolutely no additional cost. Everything was included. But that isn't why I'm writing this review. I am writing this because their customer service, products, and labor guys were TOP NOTCH. I've never seen two installers come to my home, respect my furniture, dogs, and other items while getting the entire job done in one day - completely flawless! They took a few minutes for lunch and outside of that, they didn't stop for a second. 9 hours straight with no interruption whatsoever. Roy and his partner were the installers and I can't say enough good comments about their work. Horrible warranty service. I have a very bad experience with these guys. This is the second time I have had problems with my roof. You call the company number first thing they say is to send pictures and after sending pictures no response. I have been trying to get the problem fixed for the past three weeks and the response I get is that they are busy on other major works and no time to take up small warranty repair jobs.
