READ THIS if you are thinking about Dr. Anger as your new OBGYN Doctor. She almost KILLED me. NO JOKE!!! First off: Whenever my husband and I went to see her she hardly even acknowledge my husband was even there. This was always something that bothered us. Also, it always felt like she was in a rush to get out of there and get on to her next patient. But my BIG ISSUE (Here's where she ALMOST KILLED ME): My husband and I had been planning on trying to get pregnant and when we did we had the misfortune to have a miscarriage. While I know that miscarriages are very common, what happened to me next was NOT. I had the choice to do the vaginal pills or having a D&C (to help complete the miscarriage) and chose to do the vaginal pills because she said both were equal in pros and cons. So, I went home, did the vaginal pills myself and waited for it to happen but nothing did. The next day I called their office and she said she wanted to try the vaginal pills one more time. Again, this time she put the vaginal pills in and then I again went home and waited for something to happen, but NOTHING did. I have worked in the medical field for 13+ years and know what should happen and what to expect. Dr. Anger also knows this. I saw her the next day, and first they do a ultrasound to see if its till there. Well, me and the ultrasound tech both saw it was still there. I also then TOLD Dr. Anger that it didn't worked, but she insisted it was just some left over blood and it had in fact actually worked. I told her NOTHING came out, but again she felt that it was complete. WELL, 4 WEEKS later.... I had a stabbing throbbing pain in my abdomen at around 10 at night. That whole night I was basically in the fetal position in absolute intense pain. I called Dr. Angers office the next morning and asked if this could be at all related to the pain and was told NO, but to call my primary care physician if it continued. Thank God my husband wasn't happy with that answer and we went to see my primary doctors office. Well, they saw me and thought maybe it could be my appendix, but were unsure and wanted me to have some more testing done so they sent me to a small urgent care clinic. At the urgent care clinic they did a pelvic exam and a Ct scan. By around 6 that evening, I was told i had a fever of around 103 and my uterus was inflamed. I had SEPSIS of my UTERUS. I was then sent to Round Rock hospital were, 4 WEEKS after my miscarriage, I had to again go the the emotional and physical pain of THE SAME miscarriage. They then did a D&C on me and I was in the hospital on IV antibiotics for 5 DAYS!!!!! Not only did this make me have to relive having the miscarriage again, but my husband and I now have THOUSANDS of DOLLARS in HOSPITAL BILLS BECAUSE OF THIS. ALL of which could have be AVOIDED if DR. ANGER had LISTENED TO ME! One of the worst parts was she never even apologized. I don't normally write reviews, but I am writing this in hopes that this never happens to you. This was a very traumatizing event and REALLY REALLY SHOULD NEVER HAVE HAPPENED. Doctor need to be accountable for their actions. Update: I now have a new doctor, whom I LOVE. She takes time to talk to me and MY HUSBAND, takes time to really explain and listen to any concerns we have, and goes the extra mile in trying to put our mind at ease. SHORT VERSION: Rude Staff. Doctor not really interested in your opinion. Will not offer IUDs to most women. Constantly incorrect billing and poor organization. LONG wait times. Why oh WHY did I even give them a second chance? I saw Dr. Anger last year on my first visit, and while she was friendly, I didn't feel that she listened to me at all. I was very set on getting some NON-hormonal birth control in addition to my yearly exam, and in spite of my bad history with hormones, she disregarded my opinions, spent very little time with me, and then wrote me a prescription for Yaz (a HORMONAL pill that has been once again ripped off the market). She was also adamant that I had an ultrasound completed when it was completely unnecessary. The staff is RUDE! Rude, rude, rude. I cannot emphasize this enough. Long wait times, bad attitudes, poor organization. They mi scheduled me twice, so I never did get my ultrasound. They never released the results of my exam either. The second time I was stupid enough to try again, I was given the run around about an IUD and all the myriad of reasons I couldn't have one. They wanted me to come in for ANOTHER exam and another ultrasound. Surprise! I make an appointment to get it out of the way (really want that non-hormonal IUD) even though they were very resistant to even talk about it with me. It should be noted that Gynos do not make hardly any $$$ off IUDs because the product itself is so expensive. I firmly believe this was part of the reason Dr. Anger and her staff were resistant to discuss this with me. I made an appointment friday afternoon, they send me FOUR text message reminders ALL WITH DIFFERENT TIMES!! Naturally, when I call to confirm what time out of the four they sent they wanted me in, no one picks up. I call the MINUTE their office opens on Monday morning, and guess what? They said I should have been there already. Although I was really frustrated at missing my ultrasound thanks to the lack of organization and communication (completely their fault), I said I could still make the other appointment with the doctor no problem. They said NOPE and asked that I reschedule. AGAIN. THEN THEY SENT ME A BILL WITH A NO SHOW FEE! So now I have to pay $25 for a f%#^ing no show fee because of their lack or organization, to see a doctor who doesn't listen to me, them pay another $25 to get MY OWN RECORDS released to me. Fat chance. STAY AWAY. read more

We gave them two chances, go elsewhere! First off, they get the lab results and do not contact us when they told us they would and refuse to gives us the results and then the second time we went back, they told my wife they would send her prescription in and didn't but were more worried about getting our insurance to pay them than my wifes health... and the lab they sent us to, practically stabbed my wife when they drew blood and not sure what happend, but now she has some alergic reaction to whatever they did. Avoid going here. We are going back to the OBGYN that we had with our first child even though it's on the other side of Austin, it's worth sticking with someone you trust. read more

I could not agree more w/ other reviewers on how rude the nurse assistants and front desk staff are at this place. I left a few years ago and haven't looked back since. I moved to Austin Area OBGYN and could not be happier! I actually get a call back when I leave a message for my doctor's nurse! What a weird thing! Dr. Choudhry is a nice lady, but she really needs help on how to hire an effective, smart, and responsive assistant. The one that was there three years ago was about as bad as it gets. I finally got so fed up from her nurse not calling me back that I wouldn't get off the phone with the front desk until she put her nurse on the phone. The nurse then proceeded to give me attitude when SHE was the one that wasn't doing her job! All in all, visiting an OBGYN and getting call back really shouldn't be this difficult. This is Austin, TX - hiring a wonderful nurse should not be hard! Oh, another review reminded me... they CHARGE you $$$ to get your patient records forwarded. Pretty sure that's illegal. THEY ARE MY RECORDS!!!! I told them to forget it. They clearly need the $25 more than I needed the records. I started from scratch at my new place. I REFUSED to pay them for MY records. Such rude, pretentious staff. The doctors may be the best on the planet, but I'll never know. I couldn't get past their snobby staff. They refused to make me an appointment because I needed to call my secondary insurance, to sort some things out. Ok. They then tell me I can make an appointment if I'm self pay. I opt for that. Then she acts surprised that I actually said yes. She then back pedals, and continues to hem and haw about me needing to sort out my insurance. I understood her the first time around. I don't need lectured. I need an appointment. Apparently I'm not good enough to grace them with my presence. My money must not be good there. Who knew! I came here for Dr. Irvin on a recommendation from a friend. The first time I saw her, she seemed very nice and even asked me personal questions making me feel good about being there. My only complaint was, when the ultrasound didn't go exactly the way I was hoping, she was a bit cold and just said "This might not be a viable pregnancy. You have a 50/50 chance here". Gee thanks, but, I understand after years of being in this profession, its hard to personalize everything. I came back a week and a half later and luckily, the ultrasound went as I had hoped. However, when I got into my exam room, I could hear her and her nurse discussing my information loudly in the hall with people around. Also, when it came to calling in a prescription for me, I called the pharmacy a few hours later and it was never done, however, they made sure I talked to billing instead. Also, the doctor referred to women not wanting 1st trimester screenings but wanting a happy pregnancy as "ignorant" which I felt was a bit harsh. All in all, perhaps she's a good doctor for some women, but she's not for me and I'll never go back here. The staff were friendly though, so I can't complain about them. I'm in the process of going back to my original OB I used to deliver my daughter and trying to get my medical records transferred from this place is costing me $25 even though my new OB requested them. They say they only do this for free when THEY refer you to someone new. But honestly, $25 is worth it to be done with these people. read more

I've been through more than a few doctors who didn't listen to me, and received more than one misdiagnosis as a result. So when I got pregnant, I was nervous about finding a good doctor. I visited Cornerstone on a recommendation, and have not once regretted it. From the moment you walk in, the place feels comforting and kind. The receptionists are friendly, and they remembered me each time I went in. The ultrasound tech was clearly fantastic at her job, and walked me through everything she was doing. Dr. Irvin was thorough, professional, and caring, making sure I knew what to expect from each visit. However, I suppose a true test of the quality of a doctor & staff is when things take a turn for the worse. I suffered a miscarriage early in my pregnancy. That day, everyone I interacted with at Cornerstone was unfailing in their kindness and compassion. Dr. Irvin must deal with this particular flavor of heartbreak fairly often, but she still got a little teary when explaining the situation to me. She offered me tissues and empathy, and she remained professional and strong despite clearly being sad for me. To whomever mentioned that Dr. Irvin seemed cold to her in an earlier review: I think that it is easy to see coldness or detachment where there is actually professionalism and . While it meant the world to me to see that Dr. Irvin was sad *with* me instead of just sad *for* me, I think if she had been any less professional I would not have trusted her to care for me. She made time to answer all of my questions and explain all of the details to me. I have visited Cornerstone many times since then, and each time everyone remembers me by name. My lab appointments are always quick and punctual. One time I had to call them because I didn't receive a call with my blood work results, but frankly, I chalk that up to the occasional human error. The nurse was very friendly and apologetic when I called, and nothing like that has happened since. Overall: I highly recommend Cornerstone OBGyn, and Dr. Irvin in particular. I will continue there if/when I get pregnant again for sure. read more

I have been going here two years. I have felt they are attentive and thorough. Some people have complained in other reviews about their office policies, but they have resulted in an efficient office where I have never had to wait more than a few minutes for my scheduled appointment. I just moved to the area and actually found this office through Yelp. You fill out all of your new patient forms online through their website, which is so convenient. You can even update this information through your profile so that everything is up to date on your next visit. The office decor is "rustic Texas chic." Wooden and purple velvet chairs. The waiting room is nice with a lot of seating and windows. They were playing country music which is not my favorite, but it is Texas... I saw Dr. Anger for my yearly and was in and out of the office in about half an hour. She was very friendly and happily answered all of my questions. Lastly, do take the time to read the filtered reviews. Some of the reviews on the main page are rather harsh. An OBGyn's office can be an emotional place and it can be easy to get frustrated with the doctors or staff. However, my experience was great and I plan to go back again for my next yearly. read more

I have been coming to Cornerstone for 4 months now, as soon as we moved into this area. I have had no negative experiences and found all the staff to be very friendly, competent, and helpful! The front desk employees are super sweet, know what they are talking about, and send text/email reminders about appointments. They also were very helpful about my insurance, which other clinics had not heard of. I was seeing Dr. Irvin who retired and am now seeing Dr. Anger- both of which have been great, take time to ask me questions and listen to my answers, and most of all really seem to care. The office itself is beautiful, the bathrooms and public areas are clean and well decorated. I have never had to wait for an appointment and often get in earlier than my appointment was scheduled for. I'm very surprised by all of the 1-star reviews. I became pregnant over the summer of 2013. They did the routine pap and blood work. I told them that I had an abnormal pap 12 months prior but it was followed up with a normal pap 6 months later. I explained that I had a cervical biopsy in recent years and cryosurgery, and that my mother also had a hysterectomy due to her cervical cancer. Just a two days after my perfect ultrasound and check up, I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks. I know they did not cause my miscarriage. This is my 3rd pregnancy and am very well aware that things can happen and no one may be responsible for a lost pregnancy. However, that Monday, they said they didn't want to see me immediately but in a few days. They didn't provide my husband, who called, a list of warning signs that will require immediate attention, and didn't inquire how I was doing - physically or emotionally. On my check up, I was sad and concerned and confused, but I held it together. I inquired about the results of my pap - ALL GOOD, Dr. Irvin said. Blood work? ALL GOOD, she said. The only thing she saw was that I had Strep B, but that would not have caused the miscarriage. Ok... so perhaps this was just chromosomal abnormality that cause a miscarriage. I can accept that as my answer. Moving on.... right? Except FOUR WEEKS after my pap, the office calls me and tells me that my pap came back abnormal and they need to do a colposcopy and biopsy soon. My husband could not believe that they were just now giving me this information. Dr. Irvin's medical assistant left a message on my phone that said, "I made the choice to not tell you about your condition because I wanted to allow your body to heal before telling you news that might upset you." You CANNOT trust that they will give you medical information about yourself. I felt like I had been violated of my basic rights to know medical information about myself. Dr. Irvin could have just said, "Your pap came back abnormal. This is our plan of attack and we'll start quickly so we can get your body back to normal in order to conceive again." My heart is broken that I trusted a woman to take care of me and she didn't. She made the choice for me what I should and should not know. I have filed a complaint with the Texas Medical Board. If you are looking for a new ob/gyn, whether you are expecting, or not, please look elsewhere. This is not something that should have to happen to any woman. read more

The receptionists are rude and unknowledgeable. I tried to make an appointment on 7/18/14 for my 70 year-old wife who has Alzheimer's. The receptionist said she had to have a referral from her primary care physician. I knew that was wrong and politely questioned this. She also said Medicare Part B wouldn't pay for an annual visit. I told her we have secondary insurance (Blue Cross) that would pay. She put me on hold and another person answered. She was very cold and said "We are not taking new patients." I took this sequence of responses to mean we are lying to you about not taking new patients because we don't want to see older females with Alzheimer's, or we don't want to deal with husbands who question what receptionists say. I believe my demeanor was nonthreatening and appropriate and that their treatment was not only unprofessional but unkind. To the physicians at Cornerstone--please train your receptionists because they are your patients' first contact. read more

I had Dr. Anger and after reading other reviews, I had a similar issue. After her asking about me being on birth control. I told her I had never been because of my age and I had smoked. She insisted it will be fine so I trusted her and got on a prescription. 2 months later, I had blood clots in my lungs from the birth control. She seemed not to care about my concerns and insisted it would be fine. I will not be back and I felt my health was not in their best interests. read more

I started going there in 2012. In late 2012, I became pregnant and loved my ob. However, she moved during my second trimester. After trying another physician which was ok, I decided to move to another location that was easier to reach. I am still receiving invoices for my care that ended in January 2013 and I have great insurance. When I was told I had a final balance this week of $2.35, I asked where that came from. After repeatedly asking for a statement from their "Billing Department" I was informed that I now owe $15. I'm very thankful that I did not have my child with that practice as I can't imagine how they would have screwed up the billing with a larger expense. Bottom Line: Not trustworthy, even though it was a small expense, their "fluctuation in balance" over a year after the initial charge is poorly done. read more

Do NOT go here! My wife and I both had a horrible experience with these doctors. My wife's ob/gyn visits found the doctors rude and demeaning towards her. For myself I went there for Biote hormone replacement therapy. During the process they seemed nice but shortly afterwards they stopped having males as patients which was annoying but then they want $25 dollars to get your medical records. I paid for my medical records over a month ago and they still haven't sent them to my new doctor. I would call them inefficient, unorganized, unprofessional and rude to patients. Dr. Bookout is amazing - however, it is near impossible to connect with anyone on the phone. Very impossible to maintain a provider/patient relationship very difficult. Messaging through the patient portal is not the same as being able to connect with someone over the phone, and leaving a message will never get you a return call. read more

I have been going here for a few years! The office is always clean and looks very kept and neat. The staff has always been very sweet and understanding and they know who I am when I walk in. I recommend them to anyone that is looking for a new OB office. I have never had to wait very long and I am usually in within 5-10 minutes of my appointment time, and sometimes I have gone in early if everyone is ready! Dr. Choudhry is my doctor and I absolutely love her!! I have always felt like she cared about me, rather than just being her next appointment. When I found out I was pregnant with twins I was so happy I already had an OB that I trusted. She explained everything perfectly and again, was so patient with my extra questions and concerns (and trust me, i had a lot). I had tests done and she called me, personally, to ask how I was doing and to make sure I was feeling okay. I was overwhelmed, I really couldn't believe I got an actual call from her. The next day, on a Saturday, she called me again to give me the results of the tests. I always felt that she genuinely cared about me and the babies! Dr. C's nurse and tech, Amanda and Angelique, were always so sweet! I really enjoyed talking to them and they also answered all of my questions They always seemed like they enjoyed their jobs and were easy to talk to! I have been to many doctors that didn't seem to care, gave me text book answers, and were not all that personable - not here - and that's comforting to know you can talk to them and trust them. Both ultra sound techs, Melanie and Gretchen, were awesome! They were so kind and knowledgeable; they always had stories to tell us and made each appointment so much fun, on top of getting to see our babies! Gretchen actually helped us with our gender reveal surprise! I needed to make a last minute appointment and I saw Dr. Anger, she was very kind also. I would be confident to see any doctor at this practice based on the two I have seen! Clearly Cornerstone cares about their clients and who they hire! =D read more

I had bad experience with this place too. I got miscarriage then I had to go to emergency. My doctor was on vacation at that day, so my ER doctor could not reach her. They let me go home without any prescription until I call when I had crazy cramping later on the way. Then, no one called me to set another schedule to check up after my miscarriage. I am been going to Cornerstone OBGyn since 2009. I see Dr. Choudhry. She is wonderful, but I have to say that the other staff I have come in contact with have also been amazing. Everyone is always friendly. The longest wait time I have had was 20 minutes because Dr. Choudhry was dealing with an emergency at the hospital. Normally I am able to attend my appointment and not take any longer than my 1 hour lunch. I love that I can schedule my appointment and fill out all of my paperwork online. I have recommended Cornerstone OBGyn to several of my friends, and they all seem very happy with the service they have experienced also. read more

I am a gynecology patient of Cornerstone, so I cannot attest to the OB side of things. That being said, Dr. Anger is awesome. She makes you feel comfortable, answers all your questions thoroughly, and really is just down to earth. I've never waited too long either. The office is very accommodating - I called today with a question about my birth control and Dr. Anger was not in. They offered her nurse, and she called me back within a couple hours with an informed answer, but wanted to set an appt for Monday with Dr. Anger. I could not have been more pleased! I found this clinic, and my doctor, through Agape. This is the nicest staff in the world! Near the end of my pregnancy the staff knew me by name, greeted me kindly and made me feel welcome. My doctor, Michelle Irvin, was fantastic! She answered all of my questions, no matter how dumb I thought they were. During labor she was calm and collected while encouraging me, which in turn kept me calm. I definitely recommend her to any new to-be mothers! read more

I would say my experience with Cornerstone OBGyn was the bad and would not recommend them as an ethical practice. I went for my annual exam in Dec 2017. I got charged for my annual exam AND a "hormone consultant" exam (same visiting time) even though we never discussed any recommendations for hormone therapy. Because I asked the question "What hormone therapy options are available", I was billed for an additional visit of a hormone consultation. WTH? Note, Dr. Duncan indicated she needed blood work done before we could discuss hormone therapy options. She ordered a gamut of blood tests ($800 by the way). The only medical discussion I had on "hormones" was post blood work via email with the nurse. And even then that was me pro-actively asking them what the blood work said. I never got a follow-up from Dr. Duncan on the blood work. Nor a recommendation of next steps except to come back in for another visit (cha ching... another office billing visit). It took several calls to the office to finally get a conversation to discuss the double billing. I was told that Dr. Duncan logged my visit this way and that's why I got billed for 2 visits. When I tried to reach my nurse practitioner about the billing visits, she never called me back. I have left this OB/GYN. I told the receptionist that this was really bad of them charging me for 2 visits and the worst of it, I never got any help for my hormone imbalance (which I have by the way). I switched a different OB/GYN which isn't just trying to make a dollar off of me. read more

I have used Dr Anger as an ob for my entire pregnancy with my son, and am using her again. I have always found her to be very nice, and answer all my questions.I was badly hemorrhaging after I delivered my son (my third child so I have had other OB's) , and she had to act fast and reach into my cervix. (not pleasant) I love that she was cool, and calm. This wasn't smooth either. He started coming out, and they were paging medical staff it was Dr Anger, and one pediatric nurse that were there in time to deliver him, and she wasn't phased by the chaos. She was calm, and made sure that I and my son were safe, and healthy. I would strongly recommend her. read more

Absolute worst experience I have ever had at a doctors office. The nurses were talking about my miscarriage out loud in the back area (not in the waiting room) where other patients could easily hear. When my husband and I confronted the nurse practitioner she responded by saying "Oh they were talking about another patient with a bad pap result"... Hmm last time I checked you weren't suppose to talk about other patients medical issues. When I was getting my sonogram I knew something was wrong the baby was measuring small and had a low heartbeat I was devastated and the sono tech told me in a rude tone I needed to calm down... REALLY how can you not be sensitive to someone who just found out shes losing her baby... HORRIBLE HORRIBLE PLACE! read more

Horrible service!!! I found the staff to be unprofessional and catty. They DO talk about patients in a childish gossip type of way. I had a miscarriage while in their care. Then, after a while, The doctor gave me the birth control implant to help me out with my hormones. The implant was a nightmare. I bled nonstop for months. The pain was unimaginable!! Let's just say that it didn't do very well in me. Anyway, the doctor refused to take it out because she thought I should give it more time. I'm sorry, but what part of "take this thing out right now" don't you understand? I told her if she didn't take it out right away that I would yank it out myself. Did she care at all? Was it her who had the crazy heavy bleeding and out of this world pain in HER uterus? Nah. Anyway, I made an appointment with another doctor that very day who did take it out and all of my problems were over. Don't trust these incompetent careless people to your health. I have been a patient of Dr. Irvins for 12 years. I first started seeing her for Gynelogical exams only and when I discussed the problems my husband and I were having trying to concieve she discussed different fertility methods that I could try under her care. Luckily I got pregnant with my first child after only one month of clomid. She had me come right in a do labs to check HCG and progesterone. When she found out the progesterone levels was lower than what is considered viable she supplemented me anyways and had me come in a week later for an ultra sound. She told me before the ultra sound that it may not be viable just to pre-warn me, but the ultra sound turned out great and we were both so happy. When I developed gestational diabetes she took great care with helping me change my diet, showed me how to do blood sticks and monitor all that. She watched everything. She delivered me two weeks early via induction that was spot on with no complications. We started trying again a year after my son was born, again fertility issues. We tried clomid, but it didn't work so she referred me to the Texas Fertility Center. When I did become pregnant again she monitored me closely due to having gestational diabetes previously. When I went to be induced she had to put off a C-section to deliver me because my boy was coming faster than they realized. She was in a great mood, not rushed at all, caught my second son, told me she could deliver babies like that all day long, hugged me and my husband and went off to do the C-section. My third child was a surprise and again I had gestational diabetes. She referred me to a high risk perinatal doctor and I saw them both every week. When there was a mix up at the hospital with scheduling my induction she made sure that it got straightened out. She called in a special favor with her favorite labor nurse just to induce me. Of course I go pretty fast so she wasn't there long. Again Dr. Irvin was just wonderful. With each delivery she came in the next day to sit with me and talk to me, hold my new baby, take pictures and congratulate me. So, she's delivered three children, been with me through one miscarriage, performed a colposcopy for pre-cancer cells on my cervix and never once has she acted as if I was bothering her or that she didn't have time for me or my problems. I will be forever grateful to her for bring my children safely into the world and taking the best care of me. read more

Tryed to get an appointment with a Dr that was recommended by a previous physician. I could not get into the Dr that was recommended so took an appointment with another Dr at Cornerstone. A few month later I tried again to get in the the Dr that was recommended and was told that I could not see another Dr since I had 1st seen someone else. I was told I would receive a call back to see if my request could be accommodated. 3 hours later the office is closed and no return phone call. read more
