I remember visiting Fork Lift like 10 years ago and really liking it - it is a sister store of Nugget Market I believe. The inside was massive, clean and well organized. My husband and I wanted to buy one of everything! Their produce section had every fruit and vegetable imaginable - it was also very visually aesthetically pleasing! I loved seeing their bulk spices, nuts, teas and candy options! Their butcher shop and fish section looked very fresh and can we talk about their massive cheese selections!? I was very impressed and they even had my favorite coffee for sale which is hard to find - the Blue Bottle Nola milk cartons. Overall, this would be my grocer of choice if we lived in the area - check out staff was also very friendly! Check them out!

Brought to you by the family-owned, upscale and very successful, Nugget chain of grocery stores. I became very well acquainted with the Nugget markets living in Davis. There were two stores not far from each other and they were always packed. I shopped at the smaller one as it was closer to my home. It is literally the only place I ever shopped for food.I cannot imagine shopping anywhere else. When I moved to El Dorado Hills 5 years ago... thank goodness there was a big and beautiful Nugget a mile and half away. My point is all Nugget markets are quite incredible. Nothing compares to them. Excellent quality, in-house prepared food, bakery... TDF, floral, meat department, liquor, and fabulous fresh produce section. Fork Lift is to me like the Nugget markets on steroids! I was astonished at the size of the store and cool inside architectural design. Yes it is hip! Super clean, well stocked in everything. Organized. Quite impressive. And the same great departments as I mentioned above that are available in the Nugget stores are right here too! The chatter is that the Fork Lift offers many discounted prices but honestly, I never see them. Then I heard the lower priced items are strategically placed in and around the store. Who knows. I enjoy taking the drive up the hill to Cameron Park occasionally just to wander around and marvel at this shopping mecca! Easy exit off the freeway and fast to find. Plenty of parking. Worth checking out if you are in the area or on the way to or returning from Tahoe. Did I mention super duper customer service!?! And weekly specials! Geez... a girl cannot remember everything.:) Here is to good eating!

We would order it again in a heartbeat! The strawberry pie tasted like it was just strawberry jam as the filling and we didn't really like it much. Their burgers were so delicious and the sauce they offered were so good!! They had a chipotle and BBQ sauce that was so good that we regretted not asking if they sold it there to bring home with us! We finally made it out on Sunday morning and it's a really cute orchard! Hooverville Orchards offers so many fruit pies, cobblers, cookies, sourdough bread, tiramisu, fruit juices, jams and jellies and fresh baked gluten free pies. We grabbed a large peach blackberry pie and a sourdough bread to go. The sourdough is sooo good! It's perfectly the right chewy texture and taste! I wished we would have grabbed 2! My kids felt like the perfect description for this bread was if sourdough & ciabatta had a baby bread. OoOo haha. I read that they occasionally have garlic loaves, rosemary flavored and even Olive ones too! I'd have to come back one of those weekends! They are taking Thanksgiving Pie orders through this week. The pie was really good too! The crust was flaky and good. The fruit was not overly sweet or tart and best of all served warm if you go early enough. This past weekend, they also had satsuma mandarins available for $3/lb. We grabbed a bag and grabbed a little over 3lbs for the kiddos lunch snack for school this week. It's a tad tart but oh so juicy bursting tart mandarins! It's a bit of a windy road getting there so try to take it easy and try not missing the left turn to the Orchard as you'd be stuck for a few minutes up the hill trying to make a U-turn to make a sharp right turn. We didn't spend a ton of time there but read that they have a huge rose garden where you can pick your own roses for $1/stem! We'll have to roam around next time! We'll be back soon.

This is everything grocery shopping should be. The employees are super friendly, there are enough…read moreemployees there that you're not waiting around for anything, there's always someone bagging while the checker works, there are NO self checkout lines (I can't stand self checkout), and you don't have to enter your phone number into anything in order to get the sale prices. In the rare occasions when I'm not able to find something I wanted, it's because it's something so obscure I wind up having to either ordering it online or making a trip to some hidden specialty store in the Bay Area to get it. I've been shopping here for a couple of years. There's another grocery store that's five minutes from my house, but I drive the 20 minutes to shop here because the overall experience is so much better. Today's trip really stood out to me because of a couple things... while I was at the deli waiting for the clerk to work on my order, at least three other employees came up to me and asked if I was being helped. I've been to other stores where I've stood at a counter for literally 5 minutes, watching employees going out of their way to not acknowledge me. That never happens here. Then I was really taken aback by how the peppers and mushrooms were displayed. The fact that whoever stocked these mushrooms took the time to turn every mushroom cap side up and arranged all the portobellos the way they are speaks to a dedication to quality work. You can tell that in this store, nobody half-asses anything, and the employees take pride in what they do.

Nugget Markets is basically the bougiest grocery store chain in the greater Sacramento area…read more All of the packaged deli foods perpetually look like they were chopped within the past thirty minutes, the bakery section looks like an actual high end European bakery, the floors are clean enough to eat off of, and the associates all seem happy with their jobs. This particular Nugget has a fairly large upstairs patio area with tables, chairs, restrooms, water bottle refilling station, microwave, etc. Lots of grocery stores in this area have a downstairs lounge area, but being upstairs (but still accessible via a ramp and elevators) gives it an extra edge. Plus you can't beat that view of the Mercedes dealership. The salad selection is some of the best I've seen anywhere, although they are very pricey at about $10/8oz (which is why I haven't actually tried one). I came here in search of some tampons that I couldn't find at Target, and was thrilled that this store carried small boxes of single sizes, versus the huge multipacks they had at Target. Thank you Nugget for doing a better job at procuring feminine health items than Target. As a bonus this store (like many others) is within walking distance of the wetland preserve.

Blue Goose Produce is open the whole calendar year. It's located on Taylor Rd in downtown Loomis,…read moreso it's one of the most convenient locations to sample and buy seasonal Mandarin Oranges. As of 11/19/25, which is early season, you can buy a 4 lb bag for $10. While I was there, one farmer was sorting the oranges out by size. Apparently, the medium ones are the most popular. You could buy small ones for $1.50 per pound. Mandarins were attractive and juicy. Update: It's the sweetest and easiest to peel of the three different bags I bought on 11/19/25. Blue Goose Produce is associated with Westview Growers. If I remember correctly, there are 1500 mandarin orange trees in their orchards, so you can buy mandarins there until April! Farmers are friendly and informative to chat with. In October 2025, I believe I spoke with the owner Mark about the Blue Goose decor. One antiquities specialist soon found him a large metallic goose after he requested it. He painted it dark blue himself. This goose gets outfit changes to match the holiday! His family has been collecting blue goose decor over many years, which you can find throughout the store. I learned that a female goose can just be called a goose. A male goose is a gander, and Gander Taphouse is in the same plaza. Yesterday I learned that mandarin oranges taste better a day or longer after they have been picked. It takes time for them to sweeten. You can find a variety of local farm goods here, such as honey, scented candles, Earth & Vine products, local Newcastle Mandarin Ranch products, and Petaluma Creamery cheeses. You can buy pies here. I might call ahead to ask about available flavors. You can find limited produce here. I've bought a large tomato, finger grapes, and a ruby grapefruit here. Fuyu and Hachiya Persimmons are currently in season and look beautiful. Prices resemble that of a farmers market. If you like to support local farms, please stop by Blue Goose Produce.
