We came in, and were welcomed by a tall gentleman at the entrance with, "Pick up?" I said no and he walked over to the cashier's side as he saw me perusing the menu; he asked if this was my first time. I confirmed and he went over the menu; which I appreciated. I opted for the broccoli cheddar baked potato bowl with steak and shrimp, while my son went for the spaghetti and meatballs. The gentleman was kind enough to offer us samples of the beverages. I really liked the orange drink, while my son loved the berry drink. I paid the check and then the guy asked if we were dining in or taking out; and I confirmed we would be dining in. This is where things went sideways. I completed my order at 12:03 but we didn't get our food until 12:25; then when we got our food, there were no drinks. I had to get up and line up to remind the cashier about the drinks. 22 minutes for these two dishes and then another three minute wait to get the drinks I ordered 25 minutes ago; that is overkill in my opinion. The whole process was confusing. I'm assuming the cashier was supposed to give us our drinks when I paid but he forgot. There was no explanation on how the process works. I assumed we would be called out by name, since he asked for my name while ringing up my order. The overall ambiance of the restaurant is nice. This was my first impression and though the lengthy delay and confusing experience didn't leave a great impression on me; the food was still tasty and if I do return, I will likely stick to take out.

Ingredients/supplies that hopefully all come from the US. If not it's extra tariff prices. Thanks to minimum wage increases even fast food workers make $20/hr. Also a smaller pool of workers thanks to ICE. If you're going to complain about restaurant pricing, stay home and cook. Cuz if someone else is doing it for you, it costs.

The green sauce is incredibly fresh and flavorful -- the kind that makes you realize how much you've been settling for elsewhere. And the refried black beans? I had never had refried black beans before in my life, and these were hands-down the best beans I've ever eaten. I didn't know beans could hit like that. I cannot wait to order from here again. Catrina's is the real deal.
