So I was hanging out on the Lower East Side and after a fun night I was ready for a nice Cheeseburger and I remembered that I read about a Corner Bistro location in the LES, so I figured why not? The scene was pretty much like the original Westside location.. IYKYK. Has that pub/Bistro feel. Dim lights, lowkey type. Few people in there at the time (1:30am). Bartender was cool, took my order and that was pretty much it. So I ordered my burger and some fries.. and it was pretty much the same as the original location.. It's a good burger, tasty.. Fries nice and crispy as I requested.. I've been going to Corner Bistro for about 30 years.. the original Westside location.. Way back those things used to really hit. Somewhere along the way I'm not sure what happened.. Maybe new owners? the burgers are a bit different.. But they still work. If you're down in the LES check this spot out.. Perhaps this Corner Bistro location is still finding its groove. In comparison with its West Village sibling, they don't quite have their shit as together. I suspect the contrast wouldn't have been quite so stark if we hadn't just dined at their other location a few months ago and had a flawless experience. In terms of ambiance, the first thing we noticed was the music volume. It's blaring. A bouncer checked our IDs at the door before ushering us into a raucous bar area. Toward the back of the bar, we were greeted by a host and informed it'd be about a ten-minute wait for a table in the dining room. When a space opened up, we inquired if it would be possible to be seated at one of the empty outdoor tables we passed on our way in. Fortunately, it was a temperate late-spring evening; the sidewalk din and engaging people-watching were far superior to the cramped, noisy indoor seating options. We quickly placed our orders (after I ran inside to consult the menu posted there) for two bistro burgers and a side of fries. When our food arrived, we were a little baffled that only one of the burgers had bacon on it. No huge deal, there's plenty of pork to share, so we just divved the rashers up. Upon requesting some mayo for our fries, our server also realized that we were missing silverware and ketchup as well, which he remedied. Broadly, the food was pretty good. I think the burger was comparable to ones we've had at the West Village location, and I had no complaints about the fries. Upon obtaining our check, I validated that we had, in fact, ordered two bistro burgers and were charged for both. I was mildly irritated about it, but couldn't be bothered to ask for a correction, so we just paid and left. I hope that some of the operational hiccups we experienced are just a matter of staff inexperience and that, given time, this location will run as smoothly as its predecessor. The only good thing about the Corner Bistro on Avenue A is that when every other place in the East Village is crowded for brunch, they were virtually empty. There were six of us, and we agreed, the fact it was empty and we could hear each other was the only plus. We all agreed that the coffee was horrid and overpriced. We ordered brunch, which apparently doesn't come with anything other than the entree. Coffee, lousy coffee is $4, there is no milk, only cream. There are no sugar substitutes, only sugar, so I guess the hell with any diabetics that might wander in. The only bread available for toast is white. The pancakes were dry, and came with strawberries after I was told there was no fruit. I had to ask for butter twice before getting two pats of frozen butter when we were almost finished. We had to ask for glasses for water, they only supplied disposable plastic glasses unless you specified. The food (eggs of varying requests from scrambled to over easy) was terrible. How do you screw up eggs? or pancakes. The sides of bacon was cold and old. The dishes that were supposed to come with avocado didn't, we had to ask. Never. Again. read more

The service was friendly and fast. I thought the burger was juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right. The tots were super crispy and tender inside. The space has a clean and cozy vibe somewhere between trendy and dive. read more

The place is decent, with a friendly dive-bar vibe, but I found the burger overrated. It was cooked to a nice medium-rare just like I ordered, but everything else was right out of a supermarket. The roll, the lettuce, tomato, and onion all tasted like someone had made a run to Food Town. American cheese is the only cheese available for a cheeseburger, and French's mustard is the only mustard. There was nothing wrong with the place, so if you like burgers just the way you had them when you were six years old, you might love this place. Also, be aware that the burgers are quite tall, so it's hard to bite into one. read more

Love the burgers here! Probably my favorite affordable thicker style burger. The ambiance is very chill with dimmer lighting. To the owners- Can you guys add a lunch special for the burgers? I don't see too many people come in around lunchtime and I think this would drive many more through the door. Also, can you add a mushroom Swiss burger? My girlfriend is on the hunt for the best mushroom Swiss and I feel like you guys got potential to be the best! read more

Don't really get the hype. Wasn't a fan of my burger. The scene is fun though so that was a nice time.

Food was great and came out fresh, service was quick and the staff were on point. Easy 5 stars.

Been waiting for this to open in the neighborhood!! Went during the soft opening and couldn't say nicer things about the staff. The environment was so welcoming and the food was amazing, per usual!! Will absolutely be going back and cant recommend especially for a saturday to watch the games (there's TVs inside this room)! Also this location serves you on glassware instead of paper plates - sort of different but felt super elevated and clean. 12/10 experience overall read more

Burgers and fries as good as the original west village location. We sat at the woodsy bar with the lovely bartender who splits his time between here and west. Will come back. In time, the bar area will probably have a bit more character as they acquire art work and the quirky little objects that make east village places more colorful for return visits. read more
