Came by once before but their hours start at 6:30 AM. I don't understand this but I suppose that's small town life. OK, I can adapt. I came in for a gluten free breakfast sandwich today, 12/3/25. I don't normally do sandwiches but I was craving a little something and was excited they had this option. Learned no, they don't have any and the way it was asked makes me wonder if this isn't a common occurrence and having gluten free bread isn't a rarity but is in fact, the norm.

My pancakes with European style coffee one of their choices.

I was craving pancakes for a long time with a nice cup of coffee so I went to Corner Bakery. I just ordered a two stack instead of four. Simple delicious and great coffee for only $9.99. Loved it so I will be back soon!

Grilled cheese sandwich

Food was not great. My husband got the grilled cheese and it was rather sad. Small, overcooked without much cheese. The accompanying Caesar salad was wilted and looked old. I got the caparese sandwich ( I think that's what it was called, tomato and mozzarella) filling was good but bread was stale. The accompanying fruit salad looked old and stale.

*** The definition of insanity is ... - Counter and waitstaff great as usual - location is convenient Food is worse than ever before. Potatoes left cooking for three days, food tasteless (scramble). You "win" Corner Bakery, you're right, I'm wasting my time and money re-visiting. You win - I'm done looking for change.

A Choose Two with Chicken Pesto and Bacon Tomato Mac & Cheese along with a Caesar Salad, in the patio area.

The employees were very nice but I found a hair in my coffee cup and the pancakes didn't taste right.

My $5 chicken noodle soup tasted worse than Campbell's in a can. This place is the pits, eat somewhere else!

The historic restaurant really shines where it counts -- fantastic food, reasonable prices, and excellent service. The host was warm and welcoming from the moment we walked in for lunch, and our server offered great suggestions from the menu -- which features a wide variety of Mexican, New Mexican, and breakfast fare. I decided to get the Sopaipilla Compuesta ($15), a pair of sopaipillas topped with red and green chile. It was packed with authentic, rich flavor and made for an incredibly delicious and filling dish. My dining companion enjoyed the Veggie Omelette ($14), which was equally well-prepared, fresh, and portioned generously. If you are looking for authentic homestyle New Mexican cooking steeped in local history, La Nueva Casita Cafe is an absolute must-visit in Las Cruces!

The flavor was amazing tad on the spicy side but perfect for us, the waitress was very cordial and engaging. My wife and I had a wonderful breakfast and we would definitely come back. If you're in Las Cruces and looking for a good meal, this is the place. Just a note they stopped serving regular breakfast at 11 AM, but the rest of the food is great lots of locals, ordering hamburgers and steak and eggs.

I ordered the Huevos Rancheros that comes with a side refried beans and a flour tortilla. To drink, I ordered coffee. There were two servers that day. Ours was the younger lady, who was not really engaged with the clientele except with some guy eating at the counter. When she delivered our food, she never offered to refill my friend's iced tea or my coffee. For almost 5 minutes I tried to get her attention without success. I got up to the counter where she continued chatting with the guy eating at the counter. I mentioned that I wanted more coffee, I was told that they had ran out and if I wanted decaf. She shook the thermos and she said that she still had some coffee left. I also told her that on the menu my meal included a tortilla. She never apologized for the lousy service. Very disappointing.
