Chicken Pesto
HsiaoCheng W.

Had boxed sandwich catering. I 'll start in reverse order. I don't usually like sugar cookies, but these were so soft and delicious. Bravo. The lays potato chips came packaged so not much to say there. But the two boxes I had both had the same lays chips. The sandwiches were my biggest grips. They had so little filling that the bread was just too overwhelming. And their bread, at least on the roast beef and blue sandwich as well as the chicken pesto sandwich, were both of the thick bread variety. The boxes didn't have any condiments either like mayo or something to make the sandwich less dry. But even then I actually don't know that I'd eat much more because the carb to non-carb ratio is just unsatisfying for someone my age. I'd rather save my carbs for another cookie.

It's simply good food and options with sides that are healthy and great service. I can't wait to go back!!

Jamil was a great person who helped me place my first order at Corner Cafe & Bakery and was super chill, didn't rush me, helped me choose a side, and tempted me with the delicious cookies. I have driven by this location many times, but hadn't stopped in until now. I walked in to place the order with Jamil and was out of there in about 7 minutes. I didn't get a a drink this time, but the drink machine area looked clean and tidy. There was plenty of places to sit inside and on the patio. Will be back!

Service and ambiance was pleasant as usual. My steel cut oats were cold, so was my daughters pastry. Im not sure if they meant to bake the bread this hard.

I feel cornered into reviewing this place. I've never been a fan of Corner Bakery Cafe, but it's nice having one this close to the house in case we want something along these lines, and it's a nice little pit stop - although I don't find their goods to be much better than Panera, and they remind me of Panera. In fact sometimes I think this place was designed to be along Panera lines. Pretty average according to Barbie too, who has lived next to it for ages.

Probably best Iced cafe Americano and pound cake at any casual morning bakery cafe so far. This place was very packed when we visited but the ladies behind the registers were calm and understanding with all the customers. When I asked if they made iced coffee, because I did not see it on the menu, I was told of course they could make me one. This place was between breakfast and lunch and was really cranking out the food. They take your order and then you have a seat unless your just getting coffee. We got our coffee and then went to the coffee bar to fix our coffee. Then off to the table to wait for the pound cake. A few seconds after sitting down, a server came out with our pound cake. A bite late and the yummy tastiness begins. We watched as servers brought out soups and salads and they also looked so good. Playing I-spy with other peoples food just makes you want to go back thru the line but we had things to do. This is definitely a return to spot in Houston.

Bacon Breakfast Wrap

This place is one of my favorite weekday breakfast spots. The bacon wrap is filled with scrambled eggs, sun dried tomatoes, spinach and a delicious sauce. The coffee is great too

I asked a question and the girl responded to me without turning around or making eye contact - gave me the impression she was annoyed that I was asking a question. There were only two baristas working on a Saturday morning so perhaps they were stressed because it was busy. Coffee was delicious and served with a small chocolate mint. They also serve beer. Variety of pastries. Small parking lot that fills up quickly! There was a line of people outside waiting to get in a few minutes before they opened. They don't open until 9 am which is late for a coffee shop. Highly recommend if you're looking for a cute destination for a casual date or out with a friend.

I love the upper level deck and snagging a cute table overlooking a window. It's definitely a 'one size fits all' that is great for morning work/studying, light afternoon catch up, or a cozy late night vibe. Traditionally, I've seen a lot of people studying during the week while a bit more of a lively feel on weekend evenings. People are very polite but do follow the courtesy of waiting to find a table until after they order, since it can get a little busy. Overall, they are quick with coffee orders with a variety of pastries. Parking is difficult (but it is Montrose!), so anticipate adding a little time to your drive to find a spot. Worth checking out!

Pro-Tips for the Budget-Conscious: - If you time your visit between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM, all pastries are 50% off. It's easily the best deal in the neighborhood and the perfect excuse to clear out the display case. - Student Discount: Don't forget to flash your ID! They offer a student discount, which makes this a prime "study treat" spot. The Vibe: Seating is quite limited indoors, so don't bank on a large group table. However, they have a small outdoor patio that is lovely when the weather is behaving. It's a great spot to people-watch while you get your sugar fix. Friendly staff, aesthetic treats, and a massive discount if you play your cards right. I'll be back (probably tomorrow at 4:01 PM?).

We went with the Sambusak and once again, I was not disappointed! The pastry was hearty and well baked, with a yummy filling consisting of eggplant and other veggies and a semi cooked egg. I also had an iced mocha, which though a classic, was refreshingly well made and luxurious, with a balanced sweetness. A great spot to spend some time!

This place could be amazing…read more 1. The pricing is good value and the coffee is good. Here's the improvements. 1. Don't assume everyone is a regular. I recently moved to Houston so saw this and thought to check them out. By not asking if ive been here before they messed up. 1st, no one told me the food comes with a complimentary banana. Not on the menu. No signs. Nothing. I'm allergic. They had to remake my food which is a waste for them too and embarrassing for me. 2. Comes with toast. Great. Amazing. Thanks. Again. Not asked what bread I wanted, did I want jam and butter. 3. No water given. No water stations. No jugs. Nothing. 4. Dirty tables not cleaned quickly. If they did the simple things right id give them 5 out of 5. The food is excellent. Ill be back and next time ill specifically say please no banana and please sourdough toast.

Perhaps it was our batch but I don't remember the cake layers being so thin and sparse.
