this place has become worst place I've been in Houston for many many years! i am part of a very large church, we have for many years gone to fellowship and eat at west u location. usually arriving after the normal rush time because there are usually between 6 to 20 of us. we had birthdays,other celebrations there! now most all will not eat there again because the manager is so rude! they refused to honor their online coupon . now when i ask for hot water i was told they charge for it! when i said they never ha, i was told in again a rude voice " things have changed " i asked for a empty cup and wo not give me one! no wonder their are now only 5 people today! i do you not think we will be here and then the longer. What are the other cafés has the old manager from here we may try to go over there not sure why me that but the food is not very well presented. I cannot believe I have lived in this area for many many years and not tried this place. We met some friends here for breakfast and so glad we tried it. It has more than a coffee shop feel - more of a restaurant and there is plenty of space. The food is really good - I had the farmer's scrambler and the eggs were cooked just right with the right amount of cheese and veggies. The price was great for the amount of food and the area of town:) We ended up being there for quite a while because we were having such a good conversation and by the time we got up to leave, it was pretty packed. Because we've eaten everywhere in the West U. and Med Center area, we ventured to CBC. After scoring the parking spot of a lifetime during lunch rush, we had a decent lunch. I was disappointed in how few low-calorie options they've got for a place serving salads and sandwiches, but I did enjoy the flatbread egg white sandwich I ordered. I have been hearing alot of good things about this place finally went by today to check it out. I got the Uptown Turkey on Harvest Toast with chips and a pickle. The sandwich was really good but the chips were hard and not very good. I wished I had tried there pasta salads they look really yummy! Overall I would definitely go back! read more

This location is a bit busier than the westheimer location. The food is still good and the service is decent. Still love to go but must admit the line on the weekend is busy. The French Toast is delicious but the proportion of the dish is smaller than I like. Still Yummy and a great place to go. Refills on coffee free. read more

I always made sure to get the pesto cavatappi pasta or tomato basil soup in bread bowl whenever I came here. Too bad it doesn't have a combo for pasta + soup, so I always end up paying a bit extra to get the combo. The coffee and tea are pretty good too. Firstly, I never write reviews, but I thought this place deserved one from me! I came here for a quick lunch and the food took a little longer than I expected. I was a little disappointed, but I asked for a to-go box when the lady brought me my food. She was very nice and apologized that I did not have time to dine in anymore. She came back a few minutes later and asked if I would like a free dessert to take with me since I had to go. That little gesture definitely made my day that she cared about the customers! I work right up the street from this place, so I'm thankful that they can make top of my list! I love that I can go to this place and get a delicious meal for under $8 bucks. If you happen to go here after reading my review, try the Chicken Pesto Cavatappi, or their Paninis. I usually just come here sometimes on my way to work to get a bagel and coffee. Bagel is good and coffee is decent. The only problem is that sometimes I have to wait a very long time just to get my bagel toasted. I understand its busy, but really? I had to wait 20 minuets once! I had to start getting my bagel untoasted. All in all, its a good place and they have pretty good sandwiches and panini's. Nice staff too. read more

I have used this place as a good location to get business tasks done. It is never too crowded, and usually has areas that are good for quiet and to focus. I consistently see people having business meetings, and interviews here as well. The food is terrific as well is the management. The Chicken Carbonara here is one of my favorite pasta dishes anywhere. Their breakfast is also very good, try a croissant. Terrific place to relax and do work, while eating great food. read more

I really enjoy these cafes, especially for breakfast. Their power paninis are delicious and pretty healthy and they always have good tasting coffee. Their service is top notch. I came here to have a healthy meal so I asked the cashier which salad he recommended that was healthy but delicious & he recommended to have the chipped salad. I had their chopped chicken salad with a 1/4 of the dressing, no cheese nor bacon and it was wonderful. I will definitely be back here. read more

Friendly staff ! Ordered a cup of chili. It was ok. Also had the Harvest Salad. All of the ingredients were fresh! However, they were separated instead of tossed together. I guess that's ok since it was easy to remove the bleu cheese that I didn't want. There wasn't enough chicken and the balsamic dressing is too tangy. I frequently stop here to pick up breakfast on my way to work. I used to come in to order my food before I realized that I could call it in and have it ready and waiting for me when I arrived. They don't have a drive-thru but do have a few to-go parking spots right in front of the doors. While I enjoy coming here for lunch, their breakfast is my absolute favorite. read more

I love this place! I've been coming here for a couple years and I always leave satisfied. Corner Bakery is similar to a Panera, but way better. It's quick service ,you order at a counter get a number and they bring you your food. I often times get food Togo here, they are very quick and They've never messed up my order. I usually always get the same thing the salad trio (which is my fav), but I ventured out last time and got a sandwich/soup combo and it was yummy! Also, don't miss out on the baked goods here, they are TDF (to die for)! I used to always come here during my lunch hour and use their free wifi and sip coffee while getting work done. We enjoyed the atmosphere here and the panini was good. The bad- I ordered the breakfast potatoes and they came stone cold so we took them back up to the counter and a few minutes later someone brought me more saying these are hot, NOPE. Took the new ones back and got our money back. It was my b-day so hubby goes to bring back a tasty treat (cream cheese brownie) this thing was so hard we could barley cut it and tasted like freezer burn, took it back for a refund too. Someone then came and apologized and offered to bring another desert but we declined. I may consider giving this place another shot but I doubt it. read more

This was my second time enjoying a wonderful brunch. Calm quiet environment to talk without having screaming kids as you indulge into a scrumptious meal. Finally got to try Corner Bakery today on a rainy evening. It is quite noticeable for those who pass by the city often, you cant miss it. The atmosphere of the cafe is spacious and comfortable. I enjoyed my time here at night, since it was raining and the interior of the cafe has a nice dim lighting at night. The food itself is standard, and the portion is a bit small. I ordered a half soup and half panini combination. I felt as if the half panini sandwich was a bit small for its size. Nonetheless the sandwich was good, but could have had more filling. I decided to try the coffee to see it would be any good, and it was. I ordered a small mocha coffee and it was sweet and intense. I haven't tried any of their desserts, but I do feel more variety could be added in their bakery selection. The cinnamon pound cake looks yummy, and I will definitely try that next time I visit. I also like the fact that free wifi is provided. All in all, its a nice place to relax and grab a simple bite to eat. I am sure I will be back soon enough, as it is on the way to my campus. read more
