I stopped in for breakfast last Saturday, but I didn't know that it wasn't open to the public. It was what is known as a "play date" (practice for invited guests). When I got to the door, there was people milling about the entrance and I didn't see the signs that read, "closed, invited guests only". Well, I walked in and there was a bunch of staff members in black tee shirts having breakfast and others in the dining room. I selected the breakfast I wanted and ordered at the counter. When I tried to pay, the girl said "we are not taking money, today is a practice day". I was like "ooops" I didn't know. The cool thing was they let me have breakfast at no charge, so happy day for me. My breakfast was served in just a few minutes and it was very good. The best part was the pancakes, which were very light and airy. They reminded me of the now defunct Country Kitchen restaurants that served the best pancakes in town. The "Corner Cafe" version is exactly the same, pancakes cooked at low heat so that when the syrup is poured on it absorbs into it and not like other places where they have a tough outer crust which makes for a poor breakfast experience. The scrambled eggs and bacon was good too. Excellent service, although the paper sleeve that held the silverware was missing my fork and just had a knife in it. Then menu is extensive and there are many choices for lunch and dinner. Well even though I was a party crasher and ate for free that day, I will be back for sure because the food and service was great. I don't know what is going on at Stephanie street in Henderson, but it is turning into restaurant and junk food rowe of the southeast! Restaurant will see some competition here, but "Corner Bakery Cafe" should have no trouble from what I've experienced. read more

I was highly disappointed in my service and food my first time visiting this establishment. My cheddar broccoli soup was watery and tasteless, The sourdough bread was what I would expect from a cheap brand at a grocery store, and my mixed green salad came with a house vinaigrette dressing that I did not realize was on it so I politely asked for them to make me a new salad with ranch, my order was brought back and very obviously just had ranch mixed in with the original salad meaning I then had ranch and vinaigrette it was a bad taste. The disregard to what I asked for and the laziness is shocking to me. I returned all my food almost untouched and got my money back. The employee who took my order is the same guy that brought me my food and handled the first portion of the refund and I will say he was pleasant and professional, hence why I did not give a one star rating. However when the cook realized I was returning my food and knew that he had purposely Mixed the two dressings together he started to laugh while looking at me. The kind employee had to have the manager do the second half of the refund for me and the manager did not speak one word to me until she handed my money back and said "here you go." There was no apology or offer to rectify the situation. Like I said this is my first time here and I will not be returning. The outdoor seating and cleanliness is inviting, but do not be fooled as the food and customer service mostly leaves MUCH to be desired. read more

This is a brand new location and my first visit here. Overall I was quite impressed with the delicious turkey/bacon panini, roast beef/cheddar sandwich, and chopped salad we ordered. The Chicken Noodle soup was served to me lukewarm and when I complained they offered to microwave it for me...not sure that meets health code standards, but hey...I guess they'll get the temperature setting on their soup heater correct in the future. The service was fast, the staff was friendly. There was one error that I did not complain about, that being I ordered a small chopped salad and was given (and charged for) the entre large version. But hey...good help is hard to find and the kid operating the register looked like it was her first job, so I did not sweat her about the $2 difference. In short, the food was quite good and I'm looking forward to trying their drive-thru. It reminded me of Panera Bread, but not quite as good or as large of selection on the menu. read more

Just had my first experience with Corner Bakery Cafe! I ordered the Harvest Salad (added chicken) and it was so good- i love the flavor combinations! The portion was HUGE- being that I have never eating here before I got the entree size and I think next time I'll go with the Cafe size, but that's a good complaint! My wife and I went here for the first time for breakfast. The staff was friendly and enthusiastic. There was plenty of seating despite the large number of people eating. The manager, Diana, came around to tables to check on the satisfaction of the the customers. Which we thought was a great idea. We did explain to her that our potatoes were cold. Not really complaining, just providing her some feedback. She offered us a fresh portion, which we declined because we were full. .She did bring my wife a cookie to compensate! I'm glad to see one has opened up in Henderson. They have great healthy choices. If you are on a diet, training for a sport or competition, or just simply need to grab a bite, just drop in. Make sure anything you order you request for dressing and sauces on the side. Better way to control your calories. One of the pasta dishes has loads of sauce...a bowl full of sauce. After one visit, the different between this location and the ones we have been to in SoCal are tremendous. For pomodori sandwich, you just get two slices of bread with something smeared on it. This great little spot just opened yesterday so a few friends and I decided to give it a try. Bright, well decorated and very comfortable. The menu is on a board and easy to read. Lots of salads, sandwiches pastas and baked goods. Ohhh the baked goods. While we were eating, one of the staff passed around little squares of their poundcake. I could have made an entire meal out of their poundcake. Absolutely the best I've ever had. I wish I had been more creative, and if I have thought about it I would have ordered something with more imagination but I did order a roast beef sandwich with cheddar cheese on a sesame bun along with a cup of tomato basil soup. It was absolutely delicious, fresh bun and the beef tender and very flavorful. The tomato soup also tasted like it had just been made fresh and had great flavor. My friends ordered salads and soups and said they were excellent. Service here is outstanding -they can't seem to do enough for you. By the time we were leaving every seat has been taken so this place may just be a winner and we will return. Oh and be sure to pick up a package of their raisin pecan crisps. So good. I have come to the Corner Bakery many times both for breakfast and lunch. Until recently if it's always been satisfactory or better. The last two times I had breakfast here the breakfast was and had obviously been sitting. Since prices have gone up the quality becomes all that much more important again, my eggs were cold. The toast was burnt and they bacon very greasy from sitting. I sent the eggs back and they redid them. They returned very undercooked scrambled eggs to me. They were not edible. Needless to say, I gave up! I will not be returning to Corner Bakery for breakfast. They definitely need better quality control and an onsite manager. read more

I hate posting negative reviews but the service here needs to addressed. I came in to buy a whole coffee cake for a presentation I'm doing . I've bought coffee cakes from other Corner bakeries and have never had to wait. Upon ordering I was told it would take 10 minutes. I asked why since they're already made. They said it was because they have a lot of orders a head of me - ok, no problem....until I see people who ordered after me get their orders. More than 10 minutes goes buy and still my order is not ready, again - for a coffee cake that is already made. I went to front, spoke to the manager, then she quickly bagged it. Now the for the cherry on top, I asked for small plates- she said we don't to that but you can go to the dollar store and buy some! Terrible customer service...never even apologized for the wait. I buy baked goods all the time for meetings that I have - I will never come to this location, they will never get my business again. read more

Whatever) they have a combo where you can order two items and I love that!! This place is near us, so some friends and I decided to try it out last night at 6:30. Really disappointing when there are so many great restaurants in Henderson! All 3 of us ordered soup and sandwich combos with broccoli cheddar soup. I received my food 10 minutes before anyone else. One friend received her order with the wrong soup. She was told they were out of broccoli cheddar, so she had to substitute with a different soup because she'd ordered the soup and sandwich combo. If she'd known this, she would have chosen something else. She ordered first, so the broccoli cheddar should have gone to her. Service was slow, so my friend told us to start eating so our food wouldn't get any colder. The soup tasted like it came straight from a can. Clumpy broccoli and cheddar. The panini I wanted was pre made, so I wasn't able to order it without peppers. That should have been enough to warn me that food would not be fresh. I ordered a sandwich and the bread was soggy. Very mediocre sandwich overall. The chips were basic potato chips. The other friend in our group received her food after the rest of us had finished eating. Mysteriously, the cheddar broccoli soup which previously was out, was in her bowl, although she was the last to order. Service was slow. The servers seemed like they were brand new and had difficulty balancing the bowls of soup on the trays. One of the soups spilled from the bowl onto the plate, so when my friend received her order, her bag of chips was sitting in soup. Everyone was polite and apologetic about the mistake with our order, but did not correct anything. "I'm sorry." "Thanks for your patience." "Sorry for the wait." There are signs everywhere stating that you will receive an instant $5 off coupon for signing up for the Rewards Club. I received a coupon for a free treat. My other friend flamed up and did not receive anything I told the cashier I had not received the $5 coupon, like he didn't care nor try to resolve the situation or out for help at all. This will be my new go to spot, I love it. It's very cute inside and I'm a fan of good bakeries but the food is good too. I've had their breakfast- pancakes, bacon, eggs and coffee. We've come for dinner too- I had their Santa Fe salad (one of the servers said it was very spicy but it was just right to me. My husband had the panini meatball sandwich and chicken noodle soup. Perfect place to take the kids or grab breakfast and have a chat. The prices are reasonable and there is always a coupon online. We used to go to Pananra but their prices have gotten out of hand.
