I wouldn't recommend this builder for any remodel or ADU build. I'll take the time to break down why and help you understand my experience. Perhaps this will help you make a educated choice when it comes to any possible work you're hoping to achieve with your property when considering this contractor service. After meeting with several contractors I decided to use Cornejo Builders for updates to the backside of my house including working 1200 squ feet of pavers, updates to garage including putting in a toilet, drywalling, windows, and new floor, and also pool plans. Also a new slab front porch in-front of house. I paid his 350 dollar consulting fee which was promised to be takin out of cost of job (gimmick). It was spoken that I wanted to wait a few months to save some money for the job. So months after now that I've saved money I reach out and he asked me to send me a detailed email. I gathered photos and detailed drawings with measurements for him to see. I also spent a few hours writing out the detailed email with drawings to simplify and make the easiest understanding. After spending all that prep I sent email and got radio silence. I sent a few follow up text asking if he received email and asking if he was still perhaps interested in job = more radio silence. Finally I get a text back that he was on vacation. Then we talk some more, then again radio silence. This process going on for weeks and weeks.... Hearing every excuse in the book from food poisoning, another vacation, his venders where on vacation. List goes on with excuses. Finally he comes over AGAIN but this time with his father and they look at the scope of the project. All while telling me they want this project and are "motivated" which ofcourse at this point I was feeling doubtful. Then I get a proposal price for 1/3 the project and with things that where not spoken about. At this time I also discover he never looked at the email he asked me to put together. He says he will go back and look at email now. Radio silence again..... vender is somehow on vacation again. Then date of agreed project start time comes up. I asked if we are still on time and he responds yes. Then again radio silence for a week passing the agreed date of Project. I finally send my last text asking if he could please send the updated proposal and if we could include a time stipulation in contract because I have put a lot of my time in project trying to get it going and that we are past the agreed start time.. I get the response.... "Good morning sterling Unfortunately at this time we won't be able to help you and move forward with the project. I do apologize for the inconvenience. Good luck " So for those who took the time to read the detailed experience I had... this is what you could expect. Perhaps you may get lucky and catch Cornejo builders on a good day. You're gamble. I believe I deserve my consultation fee back out of good faith and being dragged through the mud with they're time being the only thing considered here.. Doubt they'd ever consider that. This type of ethos is what gives the view of contractors a bad taste in the general population of home owners mouths. Low bar, terrible communication, and not catering to the home owners experience and time. PS - Also, I am an economist for a living working in consumer indexes for market analytics. 2 weeks ago - They tried to lie and tell me the lumber prices and materials where still at pandemic highs regarding the pricing..... I'm here to tell you this is far from true. An absolute lie and attempt to gauge prices. Lumber is continuing to fall and is expect to be at 380.00/1000 board feet in 12 months time. Be careful out there! I chose not to give just one star because I believe if they worked in they're time management skills/ communication they could achieve better results and happier customers. The opportunity is there. The man is personable when present and could harness that in better ways. Thanks, Sterling

Cornejos Builders Inc did excellent work for my kitchen remodel project. I really appreciate Alex efforts in fulfilling my goals, not to mention I had fun working with the team who gave me excellent quality service and ideas for my project. I am extremely satisfied; not to mention the reasonable timeline to finish the job with no hassles. I wish Cornejos Builders Inc great success! I highly recommend Cornejos Builders Inc to anyone who is looking to get construction work done.

The best part of working with Josh and his team is the great and consistent communication. Our project to replace a 2nd story sliding glass door met a slight issue with damage beyond what could be originally assessed. Josh, Homero and the team were able to fix and continue their work. They even finished before the original timeline with the extra damage to fix! While this was the higher of the original quotes we received, the product and service we received was worth every penny. The team addressed our family's concern of keeping the carpet clean and they did an amazing job cleaning up. Sustainable Home Construction's work is one I'm excited to show off to family and friends.

We also went with a company that would not shy away from new construction windows since we knew we had termite damage around one of the windows. They did a great job and the extra cost for new construction was well worth it. The window company they use is located in Anaheim and has a showroom and is very comparable with Milgard and Anlin windows. Communication with Josh was super easy and fast through text and I'd highly recommend him.

Michael Crooks was very responsive as a company rep and everything he quoted was delivered just as he said. The quality of the shower is excellent and we love the Koehler fixtures. The demolition andinstallation team of Jose, Gabriel and Jairo could not have done a better job! They were timely, efficient and professional. They demolished the shower and tub one day and took away all the debris. Then, the next day, they built the frame and installed the new walk in shower exactly as we requested. (This review includes a response to the business owner's reply)…read more I had a deeply disappointing experience with Paul's Windows, and I want to share it so that other homeowners know what to expect before working with this company. I reached out for a small bedroom window replacement and had one key requirement: that the new window, once installed, provide a minimum clear opening height of 13 inches. The sales associate, Art, confirmed via text that the manufacturer (Crystal Pacific) said it would: 13.1875", in fact. That was fine by me. But when I asked for that specification to be confirmed in the contract, in writing, Art refused. Let me be clear: I wasn't asking for a personal warranty on the product. I simply wanted confirmation that the installed window, as ordered and managed by Paul's Windows, would meet the functional requirement I had clearly communicated. Art repeatedly deflected, referring to "what the manufacturer said," but was unwilling to take responsibility for the result. When I asked for accountability, he became dismissive and eventually walked away from the job. I contacted Paul directly, hoping for a more professional response. Instead, I received a generic brush-off and a claim that the window wouldn't meet the specs, which contradicts what their own sales associate had already confirmed. Worse, Paul didn't acknowledge or engage with any of the valid concerns I raised around basic customer service, transparency, or professional responsibility. Ultimately, I wasn't asking for anything unreasonable. I was hiring a company to manage a job and deliver a specific result. If something went wrong, say, the manufacturer provided a window that didn't meet the spec, it would be on the contractor to resolve it, not on me to go chase down the supplier. That's what any responsible company would do. But Paul's Windows made it clear they don't see it that way. If you're okay with vague communication, contractors who won't stand behind their own work, and potentially being left to deal with problems on your own, maybe this company is fine. But if you want clarity, professionalism, and accountability in writing, then look elsewhere. § Paul's response below is a classic damage control move -- polite on the surface, but full of deflection and quiet rewriting of events. To clarify: the window in question would have met the required 13" clear opening. That wasn't in dispute. Art, their sales associate, confirmed that in writing and was fully prepared to proceed with the job -- until I asked for a simple written accountability. That's the moment everything fell apart. Paul's follow-up misrepresents the timeline and sidesteps the core issue -- not whether the window would fit, but whether the company was willing to stand behind the result they were being paid to deliver.

After signing the contract the windows were ordered and arrived in about 3 weeks. The installation team worked quickly and Art was there to see it complete. Retrofitted the windows to fit in my existing frames to avoid having to work on the wall. Added the grids to match the style of the old windows since I have a condo and HOA would probably have an issue if not everyone's windows matched since it's a shared building.

So I went looking for local company that was both manufacturer and installer of replacement windows. Pacific Vinyl Windows met the criteria. It's a local family run company in Whittier that manufactures their own windows. They stood above the others I had found in the area. They had the windows I wanted at a fair price. They installed 7 windows and 2 sliding glass doors in my home. They replaced a large window in the bedroom with a sliding glass door, an upgrade I wanted for a very long time and I didn't have to get another contractor to get it done (huge positive). They were also very helpful in suggesting a different design that worked much better. My large sliding glass door was 3 panels with middle panel slider, and Rick suggested making it 2 large panels instead with opening on one side. This worked out to a much improved design and flow, gave more room for my dining area. They manufactured the windows on time and installation went as planned. Importantly they didn't cause a mess in the home, put down floor drop cloths and cleaned up everything after. I'm very satisfied with their windows and installation. I've had the new windows for a few months now and they all work well without any issues. These windows have made a big difference in heating and cooling my home and I anticipate a big savings in my utilities (specially in the summer). I highly recommend Pacific Vinyl Windows to my neighbors and have already referred some friends.

We met with Mike (the owner) at his showroom who went through every option and provided clear details for the products we had to choose as well as the process from start to finish. We went with Mike's product recommdation, Anlin Windows, based on those details which was clearly the right choice. Mitch (the ops manager/job forman) came to our home at the appointed time, took the measurements and advised what we needed to do to assist in the installation process which was basically moving any large objects away from the windows, both inside and out. In fact, we were contacted every step of the way from the owners, office staff and field staff and advised of the progress of our order. We were notified of the windows arrival at thier warehouse 6 weeks later and set up an installation date. JC and Willy arrived on time and got started right away after thanking me for clearing thier work areas as thoroughly as I did after the intial walk through. They did an amazing job. They were courteous, clean, respectul, and completely professional in every way. They had every window plus a very large slider installed before the end of the day and once again complimented and thanked me making their work areas accessible and easy to work in. They also left every area they worked in cleaned up as if they were never there. A rarety these days! JC then provided me with some tips specfic to any potential screen door squeeks and advised me to apply something on the screen to prevent any accicdents in the form of me or anyone else walking through that screen. I used a couple of thin strips of duct tape. The windows/screens are obviously new and almost transparent. Especially after living with the previous extruded metal OG windows for as long as we did. He showed me the features of each window and door, explained how the locks worked on each and answered any questions I had. There was minor 1 hiccup. During the unpacking process of the windows, JC pointed out to me that 1 of windows would not be able to be installed as it arrived broken. Not the window itself but the top right corner of the exterior vinyl overlap. The damage was not seen at the warehouse as it was under the protective card board/plastic and must have happened during the shipping process from the factory. I know from experience these things happen and it is how they are reacted to that seperates the good companies from the bad. OCWE took care of it without hesitation and insisted I deduct $500 from the intial installation balance until the replacment was installed and the job completely finished. The replacement was rush ordered. I was told it would take 2 weeks to get it. I got a call extactly 2 weeks later and we set up the installation appointment. The final window was just installed in under 30 minutes by JC and Willy as I had requested they come back for the aformentioned reasons. My wife and I could not be more pleased and satisfied with the choices we made specific to the company, product, pricing and professionalism of every team, top down from sales, ops and installation. We would do it again in a heartbeat! I highly recommend OCWE for window/slider upgrades in every way and when you do, make sure you specifically request JC and Willy to install them. You will not be sorry!
