You Need a Team of Pros"... Their statement couldn't be truer! This is a very hands-on company that you get expertise & recommendation not just from the Owner but all the team members including an interior designer! They are a 1 stop shop for your residential, soft story, and waterproofing needs. No project is too small or big and their attention to detail and workmanship is TOP NOTCH! Don't waste time comparing bids and just make an appointment with Alex and the team! read more

$50 bucks to come and provide an estimate on some termite damage. Crazy had 4 people come out for free. Understand not wanting to waste time but why pay when others are free. Just made me think the estimate would be foolishly high and not worth the time or effort. read more

Bryan was great in the initial phone conversation, Alex came out, gave a quote that included additional "veneer" needed for the slope of my house for a brace and bolt earthquake retrofit....assured me that he would get me an official estimate by the end of the week..... I made at least three attempts to get the estimate over the period of the next two weeks with Bryan assuring me Alex would follow up... he never did! I finally resigned myself this wasn't going to happen and got another quote for a third of the price, albeit without the "veneer" ... makes me wonder if asking if they would do financing (they said they do) gave them second thoughts....disappointing experience! read more

Where do I start? Master bath remodel. This team was phenomenal !! In short, and then I'll go into detail; *Professional, clean *Communicative *On time *On budget (unless I wanted to upgrade something ) *Excellent work, could not be more p!eased. I had my master bathroom completely remodeled, (it was a big job!) down to the studs; relocated plumbing, demoed and relocated a closet in the bedroom to the bathroom and a shower to the previous hallway for greater space in both rooms. (Check out those pics!) *(That's me in my robe ) I was recommended from a client of mine that used them on multiple home projects and could not be happier with my decision, they were all fantastic - the whole team was spot on. What do you get? Peace of mind. You have a team that cares. Highly recommend - I will happily work with them again, and continue to recommend. read more

I approached Alex Rodriguez with a remodeling project. He said he needed plans to bid from and offered under contract to draw up a set of plans. I paid, thinking the contract would protect me then he walked off the job. I complained to the CSLB who said they were limited to actual construction, not planning. I took him to court and the judge said the same, contracts for plans are not legally enforceable since plans are not real things and dismissed the case. At court Rodriguez showed the judge someone else's plans as evidence. When I objected to the false evidence the judge said it was not his role to evaluate plans and said the defendant's plans were a legal defense, whatever they were. An expensive lesson for me but of course Mr. Rodriguez knew all along what he was doing. read more

Bay Cities is the first and last company I will call for any of my general construction needs. They are very efficient and friendly and get the work done in a timely manner. I highly recommend them. read more

This is actually my first negative Yelp review that I have ever given, but I feel it is important to share my experience with others. Does anyone think that it is fair for a contractor to charge $450 to get an estimate on a small local project? Now that I I have had the opportunity to meet with a handful of local contractors regarding my project, I can say with certainty that the protocol of this company is way out of line. In short, I was charged $450 for a 20 minute consultation in order to receive an estimate for my simple deck replacement project. To top it off, the estimate came in at over six-times the average estimate of three other local professional/licensed contractors. Yes, I was told in advance about the $450 charge for the estimate, and that it would be applied to the project should I move forward. However I feel that the extremely overpriced estimate was intentional because my project was small by comparison to others. In summary, I just paid this contractor $1,000/hour to receive an estimate that was vastly over priced (6X more than the average of three other local contractors for the same amount of work). I always look for the "silver lining"...and in this case I would say that they were courteous and professional, but that does not take away the sting of the $450 charge for an estimate, when all others are giving free estimates and going above and beyond to earn my business. read more

I first used Bay Cities for an earthquake retrofit grant and later some foundation work involving our floor joist and support beams on adobe soil. It is certainly not easy working in a crawl space under a house let alone digging, drilling and performing construction work. Casey, project manager, and Adrian, site supervisor, did a fantastic job of not only finding affordable and dependable solutions, but making sure the job was completed as professionally as possible. In the end, they cleaned up our property and checked to make certain we were satisfied with the results. I originally got a number of estimates on the retrofit and was impressed with Alex and the Bay Cities team. In the end, I am very please with my choice and their work! read more

We used Bay Cities Construction to help us fix an aging, termite damaged balcony, and to replace a sliding glass door and window that were original installations from the 1980s. All of the Bay Cities crew knew the timeline, what was planned next, and were able to communicate clearly what was planned for any given work day. Their work was high quality and should last for the remainder of the time in our townhouse. They were very easy to work with, I can't recommend them enough. read more

I understand COVID and the holidays may slow businesses down, however, after speaking with Brian, it was very clear to me that this was not the company I would hire for any project. I called a few days before Xmas and spoke to Brian who seemed nice and mostly knowledgeable. I let him know I would be purchasing a property using a Home Renovation Loan. We spoke for about 30 minutes. I'm in the interviewing stage and he was able to answer some questions, but felt it would be best for me to speak with the owner, whom he stated would return the first week of January. Understandable. He took my email address and offered to email me the schedule to consult with the owner. I was grateful and confirmed that he would email me the schedule after our phone call. He stated yes. I did not receive that email and followed up a week later with a phone call. No response/call back. Again, if I can't get a simple email or phone call back, for something that Brian offered and promised, then that becomes my signal to stay away because this company showed their true colors. In essence, first impressions are everything and whatever the reason, this company did not deliver as promised. read more

Excellent work!! Did multiple kitchens, bathrooms for me already and there pricing, workmanship and communication are on point! Very attentive to my various requests for additions and modifications and worked hard to make sure I was satisfied with the work! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for great work at a great cost!! Thanks again! read more

Bunch of prim maddonas here. I saw they do counter top replacements on Instagram so I reached out to get a quote on getting mine done, I first inquired about concrete counters they refuse to do them, so I reached back out about gettting quartz they only want to do full kitchen and bath remodels they're not looking to help with smaller projects. Seems pretty shady. At least recommended someone but just don't say thanks for clarifying we don't do that. read more

I met with Alex at a house that my family was in escrow with to purchase. We did a walk through and Alex pointed out some major foundation issues with the home that we had overlooked. He was brutally honest and let us know that it would most likely push our budget over our limit and that we needed to take that into account. We ended up pulling out of escrow as a result of our conversation. Alex talked himself out of a job which to us shows his integrity. He could have glossed over the issue but he didn't. We appreciated his honest expertise. We never did actually work with Alex as a result, but will certainly consider him and his team in the future. read more

Hired these guys to do a bathroom remodel and all I can say is, WOW! Highly professional, always on time and always communicated with me when any issues arose. I would recommend these guys to anyone who needs any work done on their home: no matter how big or small the job! read more

I had lots of damage from a leaking roof ...the water went down my walls and it was a total mess! I called Bay Cities Construction for an estimate and hired them on the spot! From the beginning of the entire repair issue, Alex (Bay Cities Construction) was an absolute delight. He was on time and seemed to really care about my issues. He took the time to explain exactly what he was planning to do and how long it would take. The work took 3 days. At the end of each work day, my home was spotless...like they were never here. The finished product is perfect. I would recommend Bay Cities Construction to all my friends and neighbors and would certainly use them again! Thanks Alex, for a job well done! read more

I like giving good reviews but unfortunately, I cannot give this company a better review. But I want to give an honest review based on my experience. I initially contacted Bay Cities to discuss an ADU project and was treated very professionally by Bryan. A consult was set up with Alex for the following week via Zoom and we were off to a promising start. I felt Alex was helpful and willing to take on our project. We wrapped up the meeting and he said he was going to review our plans and get back to us with an estimate - great! Then, crickets. Despite messages and emails to Bryan and Alex, no response. I guess this is what it feels like when a nice potential friend you have been texting completely ghosts you. After almost a month, I had to stop kidding myself with "They're probably very busy" (I'm sure they are, everyone is). The simple fact is that we were ignored. Maybe they decided our project was too small, not profitable enough, or maybe they didn't like our ugly faces (ha ha) but ANY communication at all would have been appreciated. Even taking one minute to take reverse course and write us a rejection email would have been decent. It's just not a nice or fair way to treat someone wanting to do business with you. It should not take a Yelp review of a negative experience to get a response. I will give one star for the initial contact (friendly) and another star for the informational YT videos. read more

I've been looking for and putting offers on homes in the South Bay. Unfortunately I've been outbid by investors time and time again, but every time I call Brian at BCC to ask for information on potential build outs, he's been more than helpful. For example, on a lomita prop, he did some research by looking at the lot and looking at lomita ordinance. With questions he could answer, he provided. With information he couldn't he recommended who to contact. Recently, he helped me with a potential prop discussing build out potential. I've been treated like a favorite client but have not given them a single project or any business. I highly recommend this company from what I've experienced upfront. If they're willing to treat people who aren't clients this well, I can only imagine how they treat their actual client. Hopefully I can post on my experience working with them soon. Thanks, Brian and Bcc for all of your guys help this far! read more

Bay Cities Construction did a complete bathroom remodel, a large staircase reconstruction, as well as intensive refurbishment inside our new home (paint entire interior, wall/ceiling skimming, installed all new recessed lighting throughout home, etc). The work was clean, on budget, and on time. Working with Alex and his team from planning to completion was professional and responsive. Very glad to have found Bay Cities Construction and already saving for our next project with Alex! read more

Outstanding work! Worth every penny! I hired this company to turn my ugly kitchen into my dream made my decision to hire them even though their bid came in a bit higher than the other bids. This contractor gave me a detailed bid on labor and materials, leaving no room for surprise or unexplained fees. Bay Cities Construction is one of the few companies out there that still has honesty, integrity and genuinely care about their clients needs and cares. Always professional and always courteous I would recommend this company to anyone. I love my new kitchen and am always excited to show it off to my friends and family. EXCELLENT WORK! Bay Cities Construction is the very best in my opinion. They came highly recommended by many other highly satisfied Yelpers, so I hired them to completely remodel my hall bathroom. I was so impressed with their work that I had them remodel my master bathroom and then build a roof extension over my front porch. All this was done this year & I LOVE everything they have done. Alex, the company's owner, is a delight to work with. He gave me a schedule of what would be done & when it would be done & there were no surprises. I have found Alex to be very honest and reliable. He was always easy to reach by phone and showed up when he said he would. He is very knowledgeable & had great ideas and suggestions when I didn't know exactly what I wanted to do in certain areas. I know I'm not the easiest customer he's ever had & I'm very particular and demanding about every little detail. Alex addressed any concerns I had with a great attitude. His motto was "whatever makes you happy, I'll do it." He and his crew are really good at what they do as well as being neat and clean. They made sure everything was cleaned up when they left every day. Alex's number is permanently in my cell phone & he will be the one I call for any future projects. read more

Alex was delightful and awesome to work with. He was fast, efficient, and very clean! He is very friendly and was able to do everything that we asked in a very short amount of time. Right from the start, Alex was great! He came to give us an estimate on ceiling damage caused by a leak. While he was at our home, we asked him about several other projects we were interested in. Within a few days, we had estimates for at least three projects. We ended up doing the repair on the ceiling and it turned out wonderfully. We also had recesses lighting, closet lighting and wireless cable for our LCD tv done in our bedroom. All of the subcontractors he used were excellent. We had such a terrible time with all of our past contractors, we were dreading this work being done at our home. But Alex was efficient, friendly and trustworthy. Thanks again Alex for all the fantastic work! read more

I worked with Alex and Bay Cities Construction for the remodel of my bathroom. From the initial visit Alex did a fantastic job of guiding me through the project. He quickly got of sense of the design I wanted, and came up with some great suggestions (both in the design and layout). When we realized that my ideal bathroom was over my budget, Alex didn't loose enthusiasm. He made design suggestions, and got us on track, and within budget. I'm VERY happy with the results. Great input, clear communication throughout the project, and to top it off they took one less week to finish the project than expected. I'll be working with Bay Cities again! read more

We had 2 decks installed in our backyard. Alex was extremely professional, kind, and a pleasure to work with. We had 3 different quotes, and Alex came in at the best price.
