Yesterday (February 28, 2025) while I was in Winona I started craving a pizza, and I knew exactly where I want to stop for pizza. On the way home to Hesper, IA, we stopped at Corky's Pizza in La Crescent, MN. I am a fan of their wines. I started off with a glass of Barefoot Riesling and it challenged all my tastebuds and had a pleasant nose. We ordered a 8" veggie pizza, and a regular hamburger with kettle fries. The 8" pizza was the perfect size for one person. The kettle chips were just as expected, delicious. The burger was 'damn good'. I love the atmosphere and the staff was super helpful. We ventured over to La Crescent, Minnesota, after a UW-La Crosse graduation this past weekend, as we felt La Crosse would be to congested. Corky's Pizza, is a small establishment with one side being quaint and the other side being a bit, well, boring, with no atmosphere. Not that the other side had much atmosphere. There was a lack of any ambience or any decoration in this establishment. The right side of the restaurant had a few tables, but could be quite loud, with music, and people talking and you could barely hear yourself conversing with each other. All of our party did not arrive at once, so we ordered, cheese bread, and bread sticks. The cheese bread states that it was garlic bread covered with mozzarella cheese. There was very little garlic taste in the cheese bread. It barely had any flavor, and was extremely soft, almost mushy. I cannot account for the breadsticks, because I did not partake of them. The waitress was very inattentive. We ordered water and soda. The soda was supposed to be free refills. The waitress barely showed up while we were waiting for our other party. We ran out of beverages for a long time, after finally receiving the cheese bread and breadsticks, even though we asked for refills. It was a very long wait! Three more of our party arrived, and it took forever to get the waitress back to us, before more cheese bread was ordered. The water, again, lasted forever to arrive, even though we had asked for refills prior. She finally brought out a pitcher, but one picture of water for ten people was just not enough. We ordered four pizzas, cheese, everything, BBQ chicken and a pepperoni. They slowly arrived one by one. They pizzas arrived very hot, but it took awhile before we were all able to eat together. The everything pizza was good, although you could not use a fork to cut the crust, as it was stiff, though the pizza topping had good flavor. Again, the waitress was absent for a very long time. Eating food, with not much to have to drink, is not satisfactory. Obviously, since we do not live in the area, we won't be back there, but there is a big lack in attentiveness, albeit being a very small establishment. Plus, the fact, besides the tip, it cost $138 dollars for pizza for ten people, and water, with only two people having soda. The pizza flavor was good, but crust very stiff. Corky's Pizza is amazing! Never had a bad pizza. Haven't tried their other menu items but have heard is very good as well. Would definitely recommend ordering out or dining in. read more

Amazing!!!!! My boyfriend and I ended up there today after riding our bikes towards Devil's Lake, taking the most perfect wrong turn onto HWY 16 in the Dells and just decided to keep going. (180mi+ from where we live). Spotted Corky's and I'd been craving a good pizza, we were both hungry. Great atmosphere, EXCELLENT, friendly service (as a former waitress, I'm probably more tuned into this than most, and the service was EXCELLENT-perfectly timed, attentive, not overly intrusive, friendly). I ordered a 10" pizza, BF ordered a BLT. His BLT wasn't anything you couldn't make at home, toast with a lot of lettuce, slivers of tomato, bacon and mayo. I took a small bite of his, meh. I could see him drooling at my pizza, he helped me eat the 10" pizza and it was AMAZING!!!! The pizza was made from a real, freshly formed dough and had amazingly good, super crispy texture AND flavor (NOT a frozen crust, they were rolling it out in front of us). The wait was only like 15 minutes. The sauce was delicious (lava hot!) did not taste like any canned variety, the cheese was ample and chewy/squeaky. We devoured it and are sad there aren't any places like this near us. My boyfriend and have already put this place on our "map" as a place we will DEFINITELY make the very scenic ride back to the beautiful town, amazing pizza whenever we can!!!! That's over places we have pegged within 50 miles of where we live that serve delicious food (no place has pizza like this!!!!) It's sincerely that good. (Plus the town is super cute, nestled in the bluffs along the Mississippi River. If we didn't have a time crunch to get back home before dusk, we would've loved to spend the day there). read more

Best summary: tasty pizza, complete disregard for customer safety Corky's is a staple in La Crescent. After closure of Pizza Amore in La Crosse, Corky's could have been regarded as a good second choice. We enjoyed treating ourselves to pizza about every other week, but alas, this came to an end last Friday. After ordering take-out, I was utterly disappointed in the complete disregard of customer safety in this time of the pandemic. Both people working did not wear masks, social distancing was clearly something, the staff did not have a concept of. Food and drinks were handed out to seating customers, who obviously did not mind the young waiter to be close and personal. Would not recommend going there unless you feel immune to the virus and like gambling (more like Russian roulette with a fully loaded chamber). We will return when the pandemic has passed, but not until then. read more

I highly recommend their deep dish pizzas. I order mine with everything - fresh mushrooms and green olives - and I've never been disappointed. However, they only serve them on the weekends and after 5pm. I'm not really a fan of their normal pies and, despite being only 5minutes from home, I tend to order from other establishments on weekdays. As other reviews have commented, they are cash/check only. Also note, they do not serve frosty beverages. I'm not sure if they'd allow byob from the liquor store next door. I've never asked, because we always get take out. read more

It seemed like for many years we just took Corky's for granted. Good pizza, lovely staff, surprisingly good ice cream ! After living here for 20 years let me say this is a gem! Really great pizza every time, the upgrades I the space are terrific, and the staff are still the same friendly, helpful people! Great think style pizza, they have a thicker version but I have never tried it. The taco pizza is good, as is their special, but my favorite is a plain old Pepperoni pizza. Soooo yummy covered in yum sauce! Grab a Ben and Jerry's Ice cream for dessert or order a milkshake. Fun little restaurant--you should try it! read more

Feel kinda bad because we love to give our money to local businesses. Our third time ordering from Corky's during this virus crises, and might be our last time. Have ordered pizzas from them, and as their name suggests, pizza is their prize item to order. For us, WAY TO MUCH CHEESE on the pizza. We like cheese, but not so much that it's all you get......it covers everything. We like the bacon cheeseburger pizza, and both times we've ordered it, even when we suggested HALF the cheese it has been just covered with way to much cheese. So, this last time we ordered something different, we thought we'd try burgers. Wife got the jalapeño cheese burger, and husband got a bacon burger, no cheese. The jalapeño cheese burger was just bad. The burger was a frozen thing and all the fixings were bottom of the barrel. One tomato slice, which looked like it was salvaged from last years harvest, lettuce from, well, not real sure where it came from, and a measly piece of jalapeño bacon that was so small you really couldn't even see it. The jalapeño peppers were plentiful, and I did pick off a lot of them. The bacon burger was ok, but not happy at all.......gonna be awhile before we give Corky's our business again. read more

When we first moved to la crescent everyone said how awesome this place was. We have tried it and have been disappointed every time. They did revamp the inside but apparently nothing has changed with the taste of their food. Pizza was terrible, the burger was over priced and I could have made a better one at home. My family lives a couple blocks from Corky's. We order frequently on Friday nights and walk down the street for pick up. Last night I called and ordered. Their prices went up big time,! I ordered two medium pizzas, taco pizza and another with pepperoni and sausage. Total cost without tip $47. Are you kidding me? Over $20 for a 2 topping pizza? Yeah, I can buy a frozen pizza which is just as good for $7 and that's a "gourmet " pizza, not one of the cheap ones. See ya Corky's! No more read more

My favorite place to eat when I head back home. I absolutely love there Mushroom and Swiss Burger with potatoe chips. Yummy!!! I'm not a big fan of there pizza, but only because I Love Pizza King the most. read more

Ate here three nights ago. Pleasant, clean place. Service was fine. Ordered Pizza. No so good. The sauce is really bland, if there is basil or oregano in it, you couldn't tell. White onions, tasteless sausage. Soft, unremarkable crust. Leftovers sat in fridge until today when they were thrown out. read more

Price is way to high for the food quality you get the manager seemed to be a slave driver just by over hearing the way that they treated the workers, not to friendly tone and environment set by them but workers seemed to have a positive attitude never the less. read more
