Large craft brew selection and a staff that always has great suggestions. I've been up sold quite a few times but never disappointed. I'm a fan of the mix and match six packs for $9.99. Plus they're open to til midnight! read more

An hour late to opening! This is like the 4th time these bozos have been late to open in very nearly as many days. If I am planning a beer kick session with friends this is CRAZY unacceptable. I know there are other places but this one's close and even though their selection is half ass at best, it's convenient that they are down the street from me. I sat here waiting cause I had the time and watched as 8 people drove up parked for a moment then left in disgust. A loud fuck you yelled out by one guy driving off said it all. This shoppe can not be long for this world at this rate. You piss off enough people enough times and they will dump your ass like a shitty bottle of beer. So let's see how long they can tell their customers to fuck off before the customers say it right back at them. Lame ass idiots! Holy shit gotta clarify, 14 customers not 8 have showed up and left so far. Can anyone believe this shit. WOW!!!! 3 frigg'n more in the last few minutes. How do these sots stay in business. This is absolutely epic, I am gonna stick it out just to see the final tally. Hey guys, feel that? It's the tingle of impending financial doom. You have too much excelent competition to keep this up! Okay finally opening, grand total.....19 customers come and gone! AMAZING!! read more

Beer haven/heaven! A little bit pricier than some other stores but always a great selection of brews, whiskey, tequilas, asian liquors, and wines I'd highly recommend Stearns to any beer advocate or those seeking to refine their liquor palate read more

Went in looking for a hard to find beer, but walked out with three recommendations. What does a green curb mean? Is that 2 hour parking, loading zone, green means Go ahead and park there? The curb in front of Stearn's Liquor is green. I parked on the street and was inside about 15 minutes. I was approached and asked if I needed help. I asked for the hard to find beer with no luck but asked about recommendations. The employee was happy to offer some beers I should try. I walked out with three craft beers I have never tasted, new to me, ready for my enjoyment. You could buy one craft beer a day here and not make a dent in the numerous beers they have if you did it for 3 months. Beer, beer, and more beer. Some I have seen and some I have never set my eyes upon. One freezer wall of nothing but craft brews or micro-brews. No, there is no icee machine, they don't sell stale donuts, nothing but beer, wine, and some top shelf liquor. And the inside is so clean and open. No dusty beer here. One thing I noticed is the beer from the freezer is not as cold as it could or should be, should you feel the need to drink your beer within 5 minutes of buying it. Overlooking the not so cold beer, I think I will be coming here very often. read more

Corked - I'll give 'em a try. - Beer, Wine & Spirits Near Me - Long Beach, California

Awesome selection in craft beer and amazing wine cooler with so many options! Danny is super helpful and friendly! I'll be making this liquor store my go to! read more

I've got to take a couple seconds to review Stearn's Liquor. Thanks to my good friend Derrick, I've become quite interested in the craft brew scene. Sorry Coors Light...we had some good times. This is quite possibly the best hidden jem in Long Beach. One of the co-owners named Danny knows his beer. He's stocking one of the best selections of hard to find brews that I've ever come across. Many beers here you can't find at BevMo. He also posts Beer Advocate ratings for some of his best beers. It keeps you from guessing whether a $10 bottle of beer is going to be a drain pour or not. If the store isn't busy, he takes the time to stand there and chat about his favorites and the different styles. It's nice to see someone who has some knowledge rather than just pointing you to an expensive random bottle. Store is clean and well taken care of. You can tell they put some effort into this place when they took over. Good to see. Two thumbs up to Stearns Liquor. My business will continue. Cheers! read more

This is not your "average" liquor store. I am giving them three stars for- booze selection, beer selection (many craft beers) and wine selection. Best of all, they carry SKINNYGIRL margaritas. It is on the pricier side at $15.99 (Costco $11.99) but I can walk here so sometimes the extra $4 is worth not having to drive. I don't know much about the rest of their selection- snacks, etc. It looks pretty skimpy so that's why I won't give it the 4 or 5 stars. The employees are knowledgeable and friendly. They also sell individual beers in 6-packs. read more

Just discovered the place and I like everyone who's lived In LBC feel like a fool. Stopped by last week after a week of recovering from foot surgery and needed a great IPA to celebrate and met cool dude Danny. He is not only knowledgeable but very friendly and personable. Loved the place and know that after a long run in Signal Hill I will be enjoying a great beer that am sure Danny will recommend. thanks and see you soon!! read more

My go to for craft beer! They get a lot of the new releases and the guys make themselves available to point out what is new. And it is on the way home from fitness!!! read more

I went in for IPAs and wasn't disappointed. They have an amazing selection of beers and a bad-ass walk-in fridge. I actually didn't walk the entire store because I found what I wanted so quickly. The dude at the checkout was cool. I'll definitely be back. read more

Excellent selection of craft beer and the owner, Danny, is a straight shooter. He isn't one to keep gems in the back and you have to do a secret handshake or know the uncle of a friend's cousin's girlfriend's neighbor to get it. Even better, they have an instagram account and they actively post new arrivals. Keep up the great work! read more

My boyfriend and I went to Stearns liquor to star filling out our bar at home. I'd been by once before- but in between that time they added a ton of product as well as snappy looking product racks. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and answered our questions about a wide range of alcohol, and we went home happy with several different types of scotch, a bottle a root beer liqueur, and some wine. Two thumbs up! read more

This is the best liquor store in Long Beach, hands down. Their beer selection is on point and the staff is always very helpful. I've never felt rushed or awkward when asking for beer recommendations. Pricing is what you would expect for beer. There are some gem $10 6 packs since they have a huge selection. read more

I live in Costa Mesa but have been in this area a few times this month. I herd from a buddy they had Pliny the Elder so I came here just to get Pliny 1st attempt: Sold out. Second attempt: Success! Third attempt: No delivery that week. :( Why don't I just go to Crowbar in Newps for this delish brew? I'd like to enjoy it in the comfort of my home. They'll limit you to 1 bottle, which is cool I guess. They have a ton of other microbrews you'd find one you'll like. I'll be back read more

Excellent selection of whiskeys, knowledgable staff happy to talk to you about John Barleycorn and spirits in general. If you are staying local, it's a good stop. read more

These guys have improved a lot. I'm going to write off the earlier customer service as them going through a business change. The top shelf whiskey is still gouging, but everything else seems to be within reason. read more

The place has a great selection of alcohol but the prices on cigars are expensive. I bought a Nub cigar that goes for 10 buck at total wine and more but got charged 16 bucks. I am going to total wine and more for my sticks from now on. read more

Wow! Incredible selection of craft brews. This place has a better selection of Imperial Stouts than any place I've ever been in. Impressive!!! The guy behind the counter was super helpful and a pleasure to speak "craft beer" with. read more

This guy saved me a ton of looking around. I had tried a craft brew by New Belgium over Christmas called "Sahti." It's amazing, but unfortunately not a regular beer in their line-up. So I have my local BevMo and chance since that's where I bought the first couple of bottles, but no dice. They can't get anymore until they brewery makes it again. (Probably in another 10-11 months.) SO, I check the New Belgium website and the closest place to me that carries "SAHTI" is Stearns Liquor, in an area I'm am quite familiar with. I call, the owner says he has some left, boom! I'm in my car to clean him out. Fair market price, nice clean, well stocked store, I could even smell the sweet perfume of cigars when I walked in the door. While it may be true that he may not *exactly* have LB's largest assortment of beers, he can get just about anything you can think of so I will be back to order some special brews from time to time. read more

Dude was ready to close ten minutes before the store hours. Very rudely and sarcastically said he should have left half an hour ago. Open light still brightly shinning yet the store was caged up with the glass door open. I guess This is a great spot to work if you like to do whatever you want. Unbelievable. Literally drove 10 minutes to the sister store, they let us in right at 10, and got a 5 star review. Thanks for nothing kid. read more

We went in on a weekend afternoon and it was mostly empty inside which was nice because it made for easy street parking outside. Good selection of whisky and scotches and we quickly found what we were looking for: a pricey (correctly priced that is) Japanese whisky which was a birthday present. The guy at the counter brought it out of the case quickly and rang us up without a wait. He was friendly and amicable. We were in and out in maybe 5-10 mins. read more

The new management team reached out and invited me to come back. This place has definitely turned around from the last time I was there. The staff was actually friendly and helpful, unlike before. If you had a bad experience with this place in the past, I suggest giving it another shot now. read more

This is a little neighborhood liquor store with a sign out front that says biggest beer selection in Long Beach. The sign was probably true until BevMo went in on PCH and 2nd St. Despite that, you will find a lot here. You will also find some things you won't find at BevMo. We've also wandered in when they are having a sale on one of our favorite beers and snatched up a case, so there are good deals to be had here. This place is a bit out of the way for us, and they do seem to run out of some things. However, it's a great little liquor store well worth stopping by if you're in the neighborhood. read more

This is a great liquor store to grab a bottle of wine, a fancy taquela and a nice craft beer. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. I have been to this store on several occasions and have never been disappointed. If your lucky enough you may even be able to find an Easter egg or two of some hard to find craft brews. The prices are on point and the selection is solid. Needless to say, I will be back. read more

Stearns Liquor has a large sign in front boasting, "We have the largest beer selection in Long Beach." I've driven by any number of times and snickered to myself, thinking, yeah right. Well we finally stopped in the other day, and it turns out, much to my pleasant surprise, they really do have an excellent beer selection. A full line of Stone, including the 11th anniversary and Vertical Epic 070707, the full line of Unibroue, the full line of Moylan's, obscure seasonal brews from New Belgium and Sam Adams, and a good variety of organic beers, to name a few. Not quite as much as you'd find at The Wine Country or Bristol Farms or perhaps Morry's, especially for foreign brews, but for microbrews this was pretty good, of course better than any regular grocery store, and pretty amazing for a liquor store. Besides all that, the owner actually came out from behind the counter and talked to us and asked if we had any questions or needed any recommendations. When's the last time that happened at a liquor store? I talked to him for a little bit and he passed the test, he really does know his beers quite well. I think it's incredible that he is actually able to stock this kind of selection - I wish I had known about this back in my CSULB days. Beer enthusiasts should definitely check it out. We ended up leaving with 3 or 4 bags worth, including some Peak Organic nut brown ale, New Belgium Mothership Wit, and some Sam Adams Honey Porter. Good stuff, I will definitely be back. read more

My husband and I have been coming here for years and have never once been treated so disrespectful as we were today. The new kid with a man bun is so rude! My husband and I were in here yesterday and he had attitude , we come back the next day and he proceeded to ask for my Id and my husbands who left his in the car but who cares as I was the one buying. This jerk clerk told him to leave as it was a liability for him to be in their. I'm sorry how is it a liability for a 40 year old to be in a liquor store where u sell candy and chips. So kids are not allowed in your place because it is a liability?!?!? I will never give my business here again ever! I will go to the wine country as their customer service is on point! read more

within the last month or so, they have installed a walk-in fridge for the bulk of their craft beer selection. It took me by surprise when I first saw it...smack dab in the middle of the store! They are also in the process of putting in a walk-in humididor for cigars. read more

We've been looking for a place to get good beers since moving to LB from Costa Mesa 2 years ago. We used to frequent High Times in CM and were stoked to find a place as good so close to home. A very good selection and the staff was friendlier and more knowledgeable than High Times, BevMo, etc. The beer recommendations they made were solid and I'll definitely be stopping by this place in the future. read more

This place is now called "Corked". Great selection of beer and even Mead! Prices are kinda high and one of the guys here with a man bun is very rude, who actually overcharged me on a sale item. But other than that, haven't found a better place with this variety of beer. I think once they get down customer service, they will get a better reviews. read more

Back in the old days, we used to call this place Stir Fry liquor, because the dude behind the counter was always eating something that smelled kinda funky and you could barter on the price of hard liquor, but that's neither here nor there. And thus stir fry liquor remained your typical run-down, dirty liquor store full of cheap booze and three aisles full of out of date beef jerky and Chinese made crap. That was until a couple of months ago when I noticed the 'south central' metal bars on the front of the store were being replaced by nice big windows that weren't full of ads for six packs of Natty light. I went in a few weeks ago and was blown away. Danny is one of the new owners, and he knows how to stock good beers. They have many of the best California and west coast microbrews- the stuff you don't see at Bevmo and guess what, they actually know something about the products they sell! I like to support people who take pride in their establishment and the products they sell. Go see Danny, buy some good beer and be happy that once again in Long Beach there is a liqour store that knows about booze. read more

Large bottle shop with almost all beer in fridges. Good organization. Staff was friendly and did offer to help me 2-3 times. The problem here is the pricing was just jaw dropping for some stuff. Random +$2 on just about every bottle I saw. Didn't see anything I had to have so scrolled past. read more

Huge beer & liquor selection, the store is extremely clean and very well lite. The cashier is always nice, and very knowledgeable on their selection. Prices are fair. read more

Little confused about all the "price gouging" comments on here. I spent well over an hour browsing and shopping for beers I can't find where I live and actually noticed a lot of stuff was priced LOWER than most places. Eh, you get what you pay for friends. You want a great craft beer or a good bottle of whiskey, you're not going to pay Budweiser prices. Decent selection, friendly staff and a few hard to find crafts are always a plus in my book. read more

Yeay! Customer Service. 4 stars because they don't deliver and didn't have the beer I was looking for. BUT, they were extremely nice, helpful and I would totally just go and check out their selection based on theirs customer service! I suggest you check them out too! read more

You can't go wrong with this place. The beer selection is always on point. They carry a variety of beer as well as liquor. The guys here know there stuff about beers. Yea... I am doing a review on a liquor store... but seeing as they have quite an impressive selection of beer, I had to say something about them. Not only do they have a great selection of tasty beer, but the owner (aside from being a hell of a nice guy) also knows a lot about the beers he sells.... they even have the beer advocate rating for each beer on the shelf. Gotta love a place like this! read more

This place has a decent beer selection, but carries the bare minimum for liquor variety. Want whisky? Your choices are about 4-5, same with everything else. Good prices on what they have though. read more

Danny and his crew know what they are doing. Plenty of temperature controlled fridges so all the beers are nice and fresh, in addition to one of the best selections you will ever find. They even have vintage releases occasionally, so you knever know what you might find. In addition, they have a great inventory of liquor and cigars and a knowledgable staff. If you've never been here, give it a shot and if you're not sure what to get based on their huge selection, don't hesitate to ask them for recommendations. They won't steer you wrong. read more
