Ask the Community - CorePower Yoga - Old Town Scottsdale

It's April 2021, Are masks being required in class understanding AZ no longer has a mask mandate? Are mats appropriately spaced out during a class?…

Masks are required outside of class. Mats are still spaced out and once you a situated for class you may remove your mask to practice. I have no idea about the HVAC system.

Review Highlights - CorePower Yoga - Old Town Scottsdale

I prefer this Corepower studio to the one in Tempe, mainly for the free/easy parking situation and less of the ASU crowd.

Post Yogabox Update:…read more Calves? Too sore to function. Legs? Don't exist. Glutes? BBL. Lower back? Gone. 10/10 will go again Thank you, Instructor Morgan!

I think this place was maybe 3 stars for me but I bumped it up to 4 as the instructor I had today…read morewas excellent. I like a nice sweaty hot vinyasa to get me out of my head and came for a class today and really enjoyed it. This studio is in Arcadia where a lot of things are but the studio itself is one room, a changing room outside the studio and a bathroom tucked in the back. Lockers available to store your items. No shower available. Yoga Box offers 3 free classes so I decided to take them up on the deal. I've been practicing yoga for about 25 years and have often tried different studios in this way. The first class was so so, but the teacher was nice and even gave me a new student welcome gift. She was a bit too eager to talk to me and I just wanted to practice and flow. The other issue was that I couldn't understand the instructions clearly as our teacher had an accent where I couldn't quite make out the instructions. But, she had a very nice playlist. What makes this place a bit annoying is that once they get your phone number, they have someone by the name of Emma that won't stop bugging you about signing up for a monthly membership. I don't mind actually buying some classes here and occasionally taking a class here and there but I was firm about not wanting a monthly membership (i already belong to 2 gyms) and this person couldn't take a hint, so that was a turn off. The thing that saves this place is I took a very good class with Debbie today. She gave excellent instruction, got us all sweaty and loved her Hawaii playlist. Ukulele is the way to my heart. Overall, it was an ok studio, give a try as they do give you 3 free classes and decide for yourself if you want to keep coming here.

I booked a private session for a group of 7 after calling multiple studios in the area. CA Yoga…read moreBarre had great reviews, offered plenty of amenities, and easy parking (free lot in the back), plus the cost of a private session was very reasonable, so I thought, "let's do it!" There was also mats and all equipment provided, which made it easy for a group traveling from all out of town. There are also showers (unheard of for boutique barre studios I learned) and a large locker room. However, no towels, so we ended up not using the showers. Courtney (the owner) was very friendly upon meeting her. She was kind and allowed us to semi decorate the studio for our occasion (simple balloons). We chose the barre option when asked to choose between yoga or barre. She first assessed the average experience of the group and I believe the modified the exercises to fit the needs of the group. There was adequate stretch between each series. Maybe one piece of constructive feedback is for hands-on adjustments (or verbal cues) since not everyone in the group knew what they were doing the entire time, but that's one small point out of what was a very wonderful experience. Everyone had a good time and said the workout was enjoyable. Would recommend CA Yoga Barre, at least for the private session, for those looking for an extra something for their programming!

I've been doing yoga classes at CA Yoga Barre for over 2 years now and I honestly love it there…read more The staff and instructors are so kind friendly and personable. The location is nice and I really like that it isn't in some busy shopping plaza like so many studios are. There is a small parking lot behind the studio and lots of in street and culdesac parking as well. It's quite there and thus greatly adds to my experience. So many studios are in busy chaotic areas and that can affect the yoga experience for me. CA Yoga's parking situation is calm and that quietness greatly enhances my overall yoga experience. Like I mentioned, the staff and instructors are so kind and chill, if you are in the know, then you are already acquainted with the sweetest staff member....Scotchie, literally the most calm and gentle lil dog ever!! I have only good things to say and will continue to go to this studio!!

Nice yoga studio inside the day spa! They have their own parking lot, which is very convenient. The…read moreyoga classes are great and sometime (if I get lucky) I was the only student in the class. All teachers always help the students to understand the pose and adjust the student pose to get most out of the benefit of the correct pose. Most people are regular but a few are day spa customer. All props are available to use. The studio is clean and the restroom is clean. I like the the studio has one side that we can see outside through the huge glass window.

I had high expectations after reading the other reviews but sad to say that Yoga Lamar didn't meet them. While I should have known that this wouldn't be an authentic yoga experience because it is located inside the salon, I was still disappointed. The yoga studio is located inside Spa Lamar, next to the hair stylist area. The doors to the yoga room are thin so you can hear the hair stylists and their clients throughout your yoga class. This is distracting and doesn't make for a very "zen" experience. The room itself is clean and bright. The room isn't very big but thankfully the classes I went to were small. It would be uncomfortable to have more than 10 or 15 people in there at one time. The AC was broken during one of the classes I attended, so we were really sweaty about halfway through the class. Someone asked the instructor to turn on the AC, but it was broken, so we opened the doors to the room. It felt much better temperature-wise, but the noise level from the salon increased, making it harder to meditate. Being that this is a Scottsdale yoga studio, the other students were mainly older, stay-at-home housewives. The women didn't give off friendly vibes, so I felt out of place not knowing anyone else. The atmosphere felt a little gossipy and cliquey, which is an unfortunate vibe for a yoga studio. On more than one occasion, some students in the class were chatty throughout the practice, making meditation difficult. One comment I heard during class was, "My butt will look so good after this position! I am so fat." UGH. I like yoga studios where students don't speak throughout class, unless they need help from the instructor. This is not a gym hour with your girlfriends; it's a meditative yoga class. The instructor for one of my classes was wearing a very thin, white tank-top without anything underneath. Needless to say, some of her body parts were poppin' out of the tank-top - very unprofessional and distracting during the class. While I'm not asking for 100% modesty, at a minimum you should have your nips covered! I was not happy about that and felt uncomfortable during the class. I made it a point to avoid her classes after that experience with her. I am disappointed to report that I haven't received any contact from the studio after my month-long membership ended. I didn't feel like a valued client when I was there, and I still don't feel valued as there has been no follow-up communication. Why not call me and see how my experience was, and try to get me back in on a regular membership? Don't you want your Yelp-deal clients to become regular clients?
