My son got the kids chicken noodle soup which he didn't eat at the restaurant cuz what 2 year old sits still to do that? But once we got home he devoured it with his brother! And they were full with some left over so a really big portion size! I almost forgot to mention the juice! I had the lemon honey ginger and it was so tasty and not too sweet which is super important! The location is convenient for me and over all their food is really good. I have ordered a rice bowl twice now and each time there are hard pieces throughout my bowl. Doesn't feel great on the teeth and takes away from the meal when you have to chew extra careful. This previous time I went was not the best experience. I wasn't asked if I wanted my meal for here or to go. I was asked if I wanted any sauce, but clearly my meal indicated bbq sauce. I was told my order price before being offered a drink. I am hooked on the Mediterrean Green Bowl, so I may be biased - but it's probably one of the best salads I've ever had!!! Their produce is fresh, the falafel (although a bit dry) is great with the cucumber basil dressing and hummus. The drinks and bread are great as well, and you get a healthy meal for lunch. You also pay for a healthy meal for lunch - usually in the neighborhood of $15 for a regular sized green bowl and drink. One other reason for the four start review - I ordered the Bigger Green Bowl last time, which was supposed to have more protein...it was exactly the same size as the regular size. I asked the counter person how it differs from the regular, and she didn't really have an answer. Each time I've gone I've had a broth bowl with beef and spicy ginger. It is absolutely delicious and they put Sarot chat on top to kick it up. You can add almost any fresh ingredients you want, and you know it's fresh because you see them prepping in the open kitchen. It's helpful to review the menu before you get in line, it's a little overwhelming unless you know exactly what you're doing. I love the options of fresh juices and teas at the end as well. The location we visited is in the Target Plaza on Niagara Falls Blvd. The property is clean, the staff efficient as well as friendly, they help you with every step in the lineup. The menu is great, you can choose from many preplanned bowls and plates, hot or cold, green and protein. You also have the option to build your own. I usually ask to come here anytime we go out to eat. This used to be my favorite place to eat. I will never come here again. I walked in and I was rudely addressed And told that usually when you order ahead to step aside to the other side of the dining room which I usually eat in so I did not know. I received a large salad that was not even halfway full. I received a cup of brussels sprouts with one brussels sprout that actually looks like a brussels sprout the rest were just burnt pieces. When I asked and showed the girl the brussels sprouts she told me it was supposed to look like that which I've had the brussels sprouts there before and they were actually Brussel sprouts in the order when you order brussels sprouts. Loved the beet lemonade, thought that was delicious, but the food was disappointing. We both thought that the quantity for the price was not worth it even if it is super healthy. I ate my meal and was still hungry afterwards. As for the taste of it, it was okay but I would much rather go to a vietnamese place and get pho instead. My son ordered a small cobb salad while my husband, daughter and myself ordered a small spicy thai chicken & rice noodles. I love how fresh everything is. Corelife is the type of place I've been waiting for - healthy fast food. You can easily customize your orders, and it has an amazing app that makes it really easy to order online. The only downside is that sometimes I find myself wishing they had more options. A sandwich would be nice, those can still be healthy. Even a wrap would be nice, and could be made with the ingredients they already have. And a healthy dessert option would be nice to have. Most things I've tried from CoreLife have been delicious, but I wouldn't recommend the falafel. It was hard as a rock when I got it, so I gave it a second try at a different location, but it was hard there, too. But for the most part, the quality of the food is pretty great. Core life should be a great business model for others to get into the market with better intentions. The need for hospitals would diminish and don't get me started on corruption of hospitals propaganda on how they help people they're as much to blame as the food industry. If everyone took a healthier approach to life and ate foods like what Core life offers hospitals would slowly lose their patients. As my mom told me "we are what we eat" , eat garbage and you'll feel & look like garbage . It's simple if we change our conditioning of thought to what's considered acceptable practice. Don't get me started on their phenomenal juices sooooo much less swet than every other franchise, except the lemonade that they need a bit more restraint . Recently i used about 2 ounces in the usual blend juices I do and found it to be intensely sweet. Won't be doing that again any time soon. The only thing that concerns me with having so much lettuce, leafy greens out in the open bins is temperature and the growth of food borne illnesses. I hope they're monitoring it within acceptable temperature time tables. I've witnessed NO food handling violations , as I have owned food businesses and I watch for those. Would like to see face covers as they use in other countries for food handlers. It prevents spit, facial hair , dead skin from making contact with patrons food. Not sure why a food progressive country like ours hasn't adopted that practice. I'm assuming it might put people off seeing everyone with masks as one would see in a hospital with contagion. I personally have never eaten there and never will. Food borne illnesses is on the rise, it's responsible for more visits to hospitals than any other issue. We all eat minimum 3 times a day and some of us eat out 3 times a day increasing our exposure to a virus, bacteria etc...that will reek havoc on our bodies and can sometimes cause death. One little thing each one of us can do while eating out is to use an acidic addition to a PH neutral selection like a salad so if they ask if u want the cranberry , orange or whatever acidic dressing always exclaim "yes". Not all contain enough vinegar so the addition of an acidic food like citrus never hurts. Anyway I'm rambling, Core Life meets my seriously paranoid approval! Very glad I tried this place. Though the name is a bit lame, the concept is a welcome addition to the area. At first the amount of choices was a bit overwhelming but after a hard days work it was great to be eating real food. Had the greens, hummus and falafel, and root veggies over the course of three visits. On my first visit I found the food very fresh, unique, and filling. I love core life! I love all the healthy options they have. However, what I don't love is their service. Time and time again they have screwed up my to go order with no apologies. Forgotten my avocado (which is extra), forgot to give my dressings only to find out when I'm already back home. I'm currently sitting at core life waiting for my online to go order that is now 30 minutes behind. No apologies, nothing. (Chipotle gives a bogo coupon for being 3 minutes late on your order!) Its like a terrible relationship that won't end. I'm not sure how long this love hate relationship will last but I'm feeling kind of hurt by the way you've been treating me core life, but I keep going back for more. Sigh. Was teetering on a two and a half, but bumped it to a three because I like the concept of the place. I went with my boyfriend for lunch and told the girl what our orders were. (I'd gone for a Mediterranean green bowl, he a grilled chicken tortilla broth bowl.) The man that she was passing sheets off to never made it clear who he was talking to, which dish he was preparing or what incredients were. He asked if I wanted cucumber, which I assumed meant the vegetable and then slathered cucumber sauce on my salad instead. He ended up mixing up our orders, so both my boyfriend and I got what the other wanted, leaving my man to fish tomatoes out of his undersalted broth bowl. The falafel were dry, and tiny, but were good enough (for my first taste of it ever, that is.) The girl at the register was fantastic, noticing my coupon and offering water when we didn't opt into fancy drinks. We've been going to this one since it opened, and can say it has gone downhill. Every time we go now our order is wrong, not made correctly and the portions seem to have been cut in half. This is one of our favorite places to eat. The food is fresh and loaded color, texture, and flavor. The unique drink choices are great, and not loaded with added sugar.
