I signed up for the September 7, 2024 Retreat. All ten of us met as strangers and left bonded because of similar interests for mind, body, and soul.
This event was back in Ko'olina. I have always treasured the Four Seasons Spa Retreat that we did in 2019. I was going through an especially challenging situation and the Spa Retreat really turned things around :)
On Saturday morning, we met up as instructed and entered a luxurious home in a gated community. Everything was set up in the kitchen with smooth coffee from NOLA and tasty breakfast items.
Kimberly, Kim, and Brooke gave quick introductions. Then we signed waivers for the video and photo release. Shout out to Brittney for capturing the highlights of this Retreat! The video wouldn't upload to Yelp but you can at least see how we did the beach portion of the Retreat in the photos.
After the 4th "prescription" and breathing exercises on shore, we were invited to a safe spot on the beach to write our worry. I know what's been heavy on my heart and why I signed up for this in July...Over dinner with Kimberly and Kim, I told them my frustration with the tenants from hell.
I shared with them how I felt betrayed by the tenant. They signed a lease. They agreed to the terms. Then they stopped paying rent. Then they had to be court evicted. Then they trashed my home. The BETRAYAL! If they were responsible mature adults, who followed the terms of the lease, we wouldn't be in this situation.
Well, that learning lesson didn't break me. I am standing here, watching renovation progress, as my house returns to my HOME.
So I wrote, "Betrayal" in the sand. I closed my eyes, listened to the ocean, and prayed to God. I don't want to be bitter. I don't want to carry hate. I especially don't want to think about the former tenants and what they did to my house.
And just like that, the sea took it.
Have you ever sat on the beach and listened intently? The wave coming in, sounds different when it goes back out. There's strength and power behind the wave crashing in. But there's gentleness and calmness as it returns to the ocean. And look! Clean sand. Fresh start. New beginning :) voila!
We did a meditative quiet walk back to the house. We circled in the shade for a little reflection. Then we did some yoga stretches before lunch was served.
Thank you Kim for cooking up a healthy and tasty meal! Instead of meat, she made Taco filling out of ground walnuts. Great texture and taste, this was really good. Then she juiced the watermelon and pineapple for us, such a treat!
Great job ladies. This was a fantastic Retreat and I look forward to the next one. read more
