Ambiance- 3.5 stars Service - 5 stars I took a C2 Flow class today at Core Power Yoga in Kailua and was reminded of hectic, congested and chaotic Kailua town is. I try to stay away from this area for this reason and also because parking isn't convenient. However, I love the studio. I think this studio seems to be the one with the highest level of cleanliness and the showers don't look grungy. The shower curtains are also long enough to touch the floor so you're not stepping in a puddle after your shower! I took Robin's class at 3:30 and she put me to work! My traps and glutes are on fire. totally understand that only 1 person was working at the time and keeping the doors locked, but there was no notice on the door and the teacher was rude about it. I apologized for being in there and was addressed with a harsh tone. I was only in there to purchase a towel and inquire more but thankfully it wasn't meant for me. read more

I have been coming sporadically but really enjoy when I pop in for a class. I try to do one class a week to get in a good stretch.

This review is based on the free event they held at Kualoa Ranch with Blue Zone Project on Saturday, June 8, 2019 in the morning. Valentina and the CPY Kailua team were personable, warm, and caring. They shared the importance of connecting with each other and our community. The yoga poses that followed were challenging but fun, too. Several of the instructors walked around and assisted some of us with our poses to make sure we didn't injure ourselves or helped us experience the full benefits of that particular pose. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and made new friends, too. Should they have another community event, I'll definitely make sure I'm able to attend. One thing that i love about being a CorePower member is that i get to use any of heir locations (including mainland) and since today i had to work in the Kailua side and i didnt want to skip my work out o the day i came here! This studio is smaller than the one in Ward or Kahala but still nice and clean. The teachers seem to be as friendly as the ones I always go to so i am still happy i've been a member for 2+ years I am still waiting for my six pack to show up though lol read more

Kailua corepower is my go to place for yoga. Small studio but it doesn't get crazy crowded like ward can be. There are some instructors that are popular and you need to be waiting before the last class ends to get a spot, but other wise there enough space in class if you come 5-10 minutes before. I recommend to always go at least 10 minutes earlier. There's ample parking by Whole Foods or in front of Long's. There's many other classes such as hot power fusion, sculpt (similar to a hitt class with weights), core restore, and different levels of yoga c1-c3. If you want a workout go to sculpt but any class with make you sweat and give a good workout! Bring a towel, mat, and water or else they will charge you for each. You can sign up for a week free if you haven't been to corepower before and you get an unlimited week of yoga at any studio. Everyone here is very friendly and studio is cleaned frequently. read more

If we could give it 0 stars we would ! Do not sign up for a Core Power membership, they will keep charging your credit card and you will have no way to stop them as they do not take phone calls or respond to email request on their system. We suspended our account in early March due to the Covid situation. Then in June they started charging our account without any notification and have not responded to our MANY requests that our account was suspended and to credit the account and stop charging us. We have filed a BBB complaint and are trying to stop them from charging our account. They apparently have no "customer service" dept and once they get your credit card info its off the races. read more

Yoga fun! Sculpt yoga was a productive way to get a full body workout in. They have knowledgeable instructors who rev up energies for the class as we are working out in the heat. Must say this is the first time I actually sweat (my metabolism is so high I have a hard time sweating) so it worked me today. Facility in Kailua is just as nice as Ward but it's cleaner and not as crowded which I love! Will be back again very soon! read more

I'm conflicted on this review. I want to give a 1 star and 5 star so I'll settle on a 3. Here's why: I like corepower. Im not a fanatic but as far as yoga goes, it's one of the better options. I was visiting my cousin in Honolulu and so excited to find this corepower not too far from her house. I looked at the schedule and there was a C2 class with live music that afternoon. I grabbed my stuff and drove over. Now, here's where things go wonky. Class was supposed to start at 5. I arrived to the studio at 4:40. There were about 10 people waiting outside. The studio had yet to open. Over the next 15 minutes, about 20+ more people arrived. Still no one to open the studio. By 5pm, with an entirely full class of people standing outside the locked doors, I was frustrated, assuming I had to go home and miss my class (annoying after driving all the at out). Had I left then, I would have given this studio 1 star. BUT one of the women waiting, went to the lock box, opened it and announced that she was a former corepower teacher and, even though she had come to take a class herself, she didn't want everyone to go home without their yoga moment. So she opened the studio and taught the class herself. Talk about paying it forward! Everyone was so grateful, they applauded multiple times. To top it off, her flow was one of the better corepower classes I've taken. I can't remember her name, but the class was the day before Xmas eve. 1 star for the no-show, 5 stars to this incredible woman. read more

I like these classes, I like that they are reliable and you can build on your technique and fine tune it. The music is usually pretty good too, but what really bugs me is the instructor stands at the back of the class by the door, I'm not sure if they are trying to stay cool in the hot class but idk about you, but I need to see my instructor, and I really don't understand this technique. read more

I went to the Kailua facility. It was great I did a C2 class. It was warmed. I am doing the 1st week free so everyday I will be taking a new class. Housekeeping: Check in was easy, they give you a card to check in, they also gave me a towel (first time free) other than that it costs $1.00 for the rental. They also have mats there, but you can bring your own. The reception desk was very welcoming and the facility is clean and they provide lockers and they have locks for you to use. The bathrooms are clean and the studio was also clean. I went to a 7:30 pm class and there was about 8-10 of us. Parking is in the Whole foods lot. I felt amazing walking out of there, it was definitely a place I want go to again. Namaste read more

I love yoga and I have been doing yoga for years. Tried this center for a week and I was so disappointed. For a $120 monthly membership, they don't limit the class capacity at all. All the classes I attended were packed. I couldn't extend my arms during some poses without touching another person. The instructors did not give specific instructions on alignments which increased students risk of injury. It is too bad that there aren't any quality yoga studios in Kailua. read more

In Kailua and there are a TON of yoga studios. I was hesitant on going to CoreYoga do to its "Westernization" look/feel, but they had advanced classes so I said "what the heck." I gave them a call because I couldn't figure out how to sign up online. I was told by the not so friendly person on the phone that there is no sign up online and it's more of a first come first serve. The lady hung up without even saying "Goodbye." Gotta say that this place is top notch. It's the people, especially the manager that make this place so inviting. Who doesn't like to be greeted by name when you check in? So great to have a place like this home in Kailua. I've been to a lot of the top resorts and they just don't hold a candle to this place as far as the yoga practice and the facility. I don't know about you, but I have a difficult time remembering to breathe when I'm running alongside traffic in the congested Honolulu streets since I'm struggling not to breathe in the toxic exhaust fumes! That's why I enjoy getting my stretch on at CorePowerYoga, because the instructors here guide you through your breathing as they guide you through each and every pose of traditional Vinyasa Flow yoga. The heated rooms are as intense as relaxing in a sauna or a hot tub, but the deep stretches are what really make the heated workouts healthy and worth every hour, dollar, and droplet of sweat you put in. And if you find the CPY black tag membership unaffordable, then join the SET team! That way, you can get paid to work out just by cleaning up after yourself and your fellow yogis, and helping to maintain the studio to keep it spotless and from smelling like all those other gyms... The Kailua and Kahala studios only have one primary workout room, so the workouts can get crowded, but even the Ward studio rooms get busy too and it is the largest studio of the three so far on the island. I usually go to the Kahala studio but I have taken a few classes here over the last 2 weeks. While the studio is small, the space is nice and the locker room is beautiful. It is very clean too. There was one issue that was out of their control yet distracting. On a Friday night a bunch of teenagers were smoking and being loud outside of our CPY2 class and it took a long time for security to come and remove them, but they came nonetheless. I've taken a sculpt, CPY1 and CPY2 class here. Hopefully the classes remain intimate and not too crowded. I've brought 3 new people with me and they all loved their experience. read more

This studio transformed my life! I have been to so many yoga studios in the community- all of which are amazing as well- but Core power Kailua has a magical energy circulating through their walls which leave me feeling happier, healthier, and lighter on and off the mat! The staff is friendly and inviting and they really take the time to address any questions or comments you have before or after classes. The C1 sequence is beginner friendly but still challenging, and if you want to turn up the heat, check out the C2, sculpt (yoga with weights), or the hot power fusion class. They're only an hour long but they'll kick your asana into shape! I can see the benefits of my yoga practice altering with each class through mind and body! The studio is always clean and I love that they have locker rooms! This makes it easier for those busy days when you are trying to squeeze in a workout but don't have time to drive home to take a shower! I definitely recommend Core Power Kailua! You won't be disappointed and you'll tap into a power within yourself that you might not have known was there all along :) So much love to all the yogis involved with this studio! Namaste read more

I've been coming here for a good while now and can't get enough, and for someone who detests all things fitness, that's saying something! I love how personable all the instructors are, and that they all put a unique twist on their classes. My personal favorites are Jaz, Kayleigh, and Valentina, but seriously I've never taken a bad class with anyone. My 2 favorite classes are Sculpt and HPF where I feel completely rejuvenated after I finish. The studio is clean, organized, and always stocked with great retail. I've been to a few yoga studios... but CorePower Yoga works best for me! I've learned so much about myself mentally & physically with my practice each day thanks to our wonderful instructors. CorePower offers yoga sculpt -- which I fell in love with being I mostly work out at 24's... I can now do yoga, cardio, lean muscle toning w/ weights all in one. Music, heat, and fellow yogi's keep the positive vibe flowing. Jenn C. & Stephanie really pump up the heart beat, they're both great! I'm addicted :) The studio gives a relaxing ambience w/ a clean locker room with a spa like feeling. It is also great for beginners or anyone wanting to try yoga for the first time. I always loved practicing at CorePower and had a membership for a couple of years. When COVID hit I realized I could not practice awhile. I spent 2 hours on the phone to suspend my membership only to be disconnected. My emails have been ignored. I was charged twice on my credit card and it has never been resolved. read more

This is the third location to open up on Oahu and is located in Kailua next to Whole Foods, where Executive Chef used to be. They open the doors 30min before each class. There is only one studio for this location. Classes are usually an hour long. The atmosphere is clean and they maintain the cleanliness there. Maybe because it's still kind of new. But, that's what I look for whenever I go to any gym or yoga facilities. As long as it doesn't wreak of sweaty feet or worst. If you've never been here and want to try it, they do have a one week free trial. It's great to feel it out and see if this is for you. That way you can see if it's something you see yourself practicing regularly. The staff is super friendly and welcoming, too. Let them know what type of classes you're into and they'll help you out with what you might like best. Try it out and bring someone with you! read more

I was hesitating to write a review since I've only been to CPY1 classes thus far, but then I thought -- what the heck? I'll just update later when I've been fully indoctrinated (ha). Toward the end of 2015, I had a lot of changes happening in my life: new job, new baby on the way. I needed some centering and had an inkling that a regular yoga practice might do the trick -- at least, that was the intent! When I found out that a CorePower studio was opening in Kailua, I contacted them to find out more and ended up signing on as a founding member. (Very smooth.) My preggo situation left me with more than a few doubts, however, about my own physical ability (status: abysmal) and anxiety about harming my baby (status: crazy pants). That's when corporate yoga really does have it benefits. Pros: -- Due to my pregnancy and childbirth, I was able to freeze my account for months AND they locked in the founding membership rate. I basically signed up in September 2015 and only started ponying up as of March 2016. Needless to say, customer service is A+++! -- No need to sign up beforehand for any class. After years of being a slave to the MindBody Connect app, I can't tell you how freeing it is to just show up. (Although, I don't know if it's just been a happy coincidence that none of the classes I've attended have been chock full.) -- Consistent CPY1 classes. No matter the instructor (all of whom I've found to be friendly), each one is solid across the board. And they really are 60 minutes! While I love the free-wheeling nature of other studios, I've often had 90 minute classes that turn into 120 minute classes. That sort of time commitment simply isn't feasible for me. -- Convenience. Tons of classes, free parking by Whole Foods and Longs, and near a major bus stop. I've made it a (potentially) bad habit of cutting through Whole Foods and grabbing a drink from their coffee bar. -- It has to be said: the digs are noice! A gorgeous and spacious studio. Separate men's and women's locker rooms (with locks and keys to use if you forget your own). An actual entry space that makes for a smooth check-in/fill up water bottle/store slippers time, without tripping up your fellow yogis. My ultimate goal is to eventually get in to a morning routine to try out the showers. Now, if only my infant son could get on board with the plan! Cons: -- The CPY1 class does have that yoga-by-the-numbers aspect, with little variety. While it's nice to know what you're getting into, I can see it getting a bit too routine. (I guess that's why one should branch out to other classes.) (One hopes.) -- That aforementioned major bus stop is right outside the studio. It's not terrible, but it can harsh on your mellow some. -- Pricing. As others have already said, it is steep (even at the founding member rate), but it's actually not far off the going rate of other yoga studios in Kailua. Granted, those other studios are locally-owned... I'll admit, there is a swankiness to CorePower Yoga that is intimidating. I'm glad that, as far from chic that I am, there's still a place for me here. I mean, there's definitely a place for the svelte and beautifully attired. But there's also a place for the unfashionable, unfit misfits among us -- and it's gratefully not shoved into a corner. read more

I've always wanted to try yoga so I stopped by CorePower Yoga in Kailua on my way to Whole Foods. I was pleasantly greeted by instructors at the front desk who explained what CorePower Yoga was and the different level classes they offer. I was surprised that they offer a FREE 1 Week Trial (other yoga studios that I've called only offer 1 Free class); and they encouraged me to come every day to try different classes. Towel and yoga mat was also included at no charge in the 1 Week trial. The yoga classes are mostly hot yoga except the Y1 class which is their beginner level. Since this was my first time taking yoga, they highly recommended that I take Y1. The Y1 class introduces the CorePower flow and yoga positions. You never feel lost in the class since the instructor provides demonstrations of each pose as well as alternative poses that are less stressful on a beginner's body. I was shown how to use the yoga blocks since I have weak wrists. Breaks are taken in between so you can towel off and rehydrate with water. Returning to the child pose, which is their resting position, is recommended if you should feel the need to rest throughout the 60 minute class. Although, this is not meant to be a hot yoga class the room is kept at about 80 degrees and you do work up a good sweat from the flow movements. I struggled through my first class but the positive reinforcement that I received from the instructor made me want to come back. I ended up taking the Y1 class for the full week and then signed up for 10 more classes. Each instructor is absolutely awesome, knowledgeable, and patience with newbies like myself. You leave the class feeling relaxed, rejuvenated and a little lighter. The facilities are clean, there changing rooms with lockers, a small boutique to purchase yoga wear, and parking is located on backside of the building near WholeFoods. One thing to keep in mind when taking a class is to arrive a little early because they lock the front door during class for security purposes. read more

You can do unlimited yoga classes for a week if you haven't been to CorePower before. During my free week, I went to 3 classes: a C1 at 8:45pm with Sara Be (LOVED it, great instructor), a C2 (also a great class), and a YogaSculpt (So hard, but so good!). In the past, I have had unlimited memberships to Bikram's yoga and have done many yoga classes at other studios. I was completely impressed with the Kailua CorePower yoga experience. Great clean facility, friendly and knowledgeable instructors and such unique classes. I signed up for the unlimited membership the day after the free week expired. The Live Music C2 class on Friday nights is AMAZING! I highly recommend the Kailua CorePower yoga experience. read more

Love the class times, every hour. And all day. As well as being able to drop in, no sign up. I Like my card, swipe & done, Very efficient. Many teachers call me by name, which makes it feel like Cheers. I like the diversity of teachers. Love the core work in every class. And love the option of Yoga sculpt on days I need a bit more.
