After all the rain we had earlier this Spring, we knew it was time to get some French Drains…read moreinstalled due to lots of standing water around our foundation. I contacted Water Drainage Innovations by sending a message through Yelp asking for a quote. We set up an appointment with Dennis and he came out to measure and see what was needed. He gave us a brief verbal overview in person and then sent a written proposal. After we collected all of our bids, we really liked the plan Dennis came up with. It was comprehensive and would solve our needs and the price was fair. We signed and returned the proposal. We then set up a date to start the work. It was a 2 day job to install French Drains that run along both sides of our property. They ran PVC pipe, tying in from the gutter downspouts and going under the sidewalk and out to the street. It involved cutting holes in the curb so the water could drain out. Dennis and his team did a great job throughout the entire project. They showed up when they said they would. They were professional and polite, respectful of our property, even cleaning up at the end of day one knowing they would be back the next day. We sent half the money owed at the end of day one via Zelle, and the balance after the job was complete. We are very happy with how the entire project went and highly recommend Dennis and Water Drainage Innovations. Now we just need everyone to wash their cars and windows and do a rain dance so we can watch the water drain into the street!

It was so bad, in fact, that we submitted a service request online with Rain Leak Solutions in the middle of the night immediately after the rain stopped. In a matter of hours Randy showed up to our house, diagnosed the problems and completed the repairs. Plus, it didn't cost us an arm and a leg. We thought he was a real hero! So, we didn't hesitate to ask him to come back and do a whole house inspection. He said he was very very busy and it would be a while before he could schedule a time. We completely understood and waited patiently. Months and months went by, yet there was no communication from Randy despite us leaving him several messages. Just when we thought our calls would never be returned, he got back to us and assured us that he hadn't forgotten about the inspection. But again, he was too busy to commit to an appointment. Then a little over a year after his last visit, one of the windows started leaking again just as badly as before. At this point we desperately tried to get in touch with Randy to come back out to (re)fix the problem. Only once did we manage to get a call back and he said he would come over as soon as he could. He never called back or showed up though. We realize now that we should have moved on to a different company long ago because the continual leaking has caused a lot of damage to the whole area around the window. Although Randy may be quite knowledgeable and capable, he is also extremely unreliable.

Called to request a foundation inspection, as the home is 30 years old, we have some very minor…read moretile cracks, and do see some seasonal movement in door openings (mostly one upstairs one). Some brickwork is cracked around suspended arches and cornerstone decorative pieces (e.g. above garage doors) but obviously has been for decades. I specifically called Cornerstone because I wanted a serious contractor who does actual poured footings, not that stacked cylinder mess that could actually crack your foundation worse as they use your house for the jack leverage. Dave was on time, courteous and (given that our appointment was in the middle of the Viral Apocalypse) understanding that I was working from home instead of 'off' for the day of our appointment. We spoke for a bit, he outlined everything well and asked pertinent questions about my reasons for calling, then got down to work inspecting...and recommended no work be done at this time. I offered to pay a service charge but he said that wasn't necessary. We did follow up on the phone briefly (I was busy when he was finished) and I am strongly considering coming back to them for some drainage improvements here and there as precautionary measures.
