My mom and I recently visited the winery since learning of their closing next month. This made me really sad , so I definitely wanted to support them. I was excited to see the crowded parking lot when we arrived. Still ample parking was available. It's been 2 years since my last review so I had forgotten the setup. Basically you find a table (inside or outside) and they come take your order. We opted to sit inside. Our server, Madison was sooooo good! I really enjoyed interacting with her and she made this experience fantastic! She was very efficient and had a great personality. All of the staff were amazing & hardworking! I ordered a wine flight. I did good picking out 4 delicious wines. My fav was the Grenache Rose! So refreshing, crisp and just down right very satisfying! For food we kept it light. We split the Brie cranberry and almond app and I just had to try that hot honey peach cheesecake. We enjoyed both selections so much! Unfortunately, August 10th is their last day of operation. I definitely recommend supporting this local business if you can. I plan to go back to purchase some wines and also to attend events they have planned. read more

Stopped to stay in area. Staff is awesome and so friendly! We had 2 flights trying 8 different wines, and all were very good! We had Brie with cranberries and spinach artichoke dip. Both were tasty. And they even had gluten free crackers available for those of us who have to eat gluten free. If we lived more local, we'd be here a lot. Great atmosphere and location! read more

I've been living in the area too long not to have visited Corbin before now. I follow them on Facebook and they do an excellent job with updates. Today, 07/10/2020, I saw a post about their Bellini pound cake and I had to have it. It's not too far from my home, so I arrived with minutes, walked right in and was greeted immediately. I placed my order for the pound cake but had been eyeing the "Just Peachy" wine which is also in the glaze on the pound cake. Yep, I ordered a bottle. This place is so inviting and very clean. I have to go back later and enjoy the other food items and some music. The young lady that took my order told me about an event this weekend and she gave me the food menu for the week and the wine list and prices. This was such a complete visit, I felt very informed. Great setting and friendly staff but disappointed with the wine selections. Didn't have high expectations given how far we are from any actual wine country -where we lived for many years. But even so, my mom and I both got flights so tried 8 different wines and agreed that they all tasted watered down and not very much like wine at all. So for any Californians passing through - don't go for the wine but do enjoy a nice outdoor setting and friendly staff. Might be worth another visit to try the food - menu looked appetizing but we only had the grazing board which was decent. read more

If you want a relaxing afternoon with great entertainment on a weekend, this is your place to go! We drove 45 minutes and came to visit on a Saturday shortly after opening. We had 2 wine tastings with glasses of 4-2 oz pours. We ordered the sampler that had chicken salad, hummus and pasta salad with crackers, it was a perfectly put together plate with different consistencies and flavors. There was a great band playing outside. We ended up leaving with a case of wine so that wasn't a bad end to the day at all. read more

We absolutely loved our visit to Corbin Farms today, and will be back! We came here on a rainy Saturday, but the staff was very welcoming, music was being played live, and the venue is beautiful with the cool trucks out front. Our server was very pleasant and made sure we always had what we needed! The Wine: I tried the white blend, peachy, blueberry, and the tux. I really loved the white blend which had hints of apricot and pear. The peachy and blueberry were both very good and tasted just like their names suggest. The tux definitely had notes of chocolate which although a little weird, I really enjoyed! The Food: We split a Margarita pizza and the spinach artichoke dip. We were just as impressed with the food as we were with the wine. The flatbread pizza was loaded with cheese, and Im normally not even a pizza fan. I just love Corbin Farms! It's one of my favorite wineries in the Birmingham area. Formerly Vizzini Winery, it was purchased several years ago and you can still find vizzini favorites like Tuxedo Junction (a red chocolate dessert wine!!) plus new options. The building doesn't look much from the outside, but inside is warm and inviting. On one wall is a fireplace, kept going on cold and rainy days. Opposite this is a long bar, where you can choose to do tastings for a fee. You also have the option to tour the winery, and knowledgeable staff walk you through the steps to winemaking, from grapes to bottling and labeling. The wines are delicious. My favorites are the Viognier and the Merlot, but the strawberry white wine is delicious as well! I don't think I've tried a wine there yet I didn't enjoy. You can enjoy them on site by the glass or bottle, or purchase bottles to take home. They also offer a tasty lunch menu. My friend and I went recently. She had the house salad and a bowl of chicken tortilla soup, and I had the Sicilian flatbread, with Italian meats and different kinds of olives...delish! The facility frequently hosts events, from Murder Mystery dinners to Mardi Gras festivities. I haven't been to one yet, but I hope to in the future! They also host private events. I came here with friends this past weekend, and it was a great time. We sat outside on their patio since it was dog friendly and brought a pup. My friends got flights which is a super good deal and probably what I would do next time. You get four 2 oz. portions of wine for only $10. I tried some of theirs all of which I liked, and I usually hate wine! These were all much sweeter like fruit juices almost. I tried two reds, their watermelon flavored one, and another one that I can't remember. I ordered The Sampler to eat which consisted of crackers, pita chips, chicken salad, hummus, pasta salad, and pimento cheese. The pita chips and hummus were my favorite, but it was nice to try it all! To drink I had a Tropical slushie. It was alright. It had riesling and some other fruity flavors. I found Corbin Farms Winery on groupon and really only went by chance because they were the first of a few wineries to answer the phone. The $29 groupon included a wine tasting, tour, and $20 worth of food for 2 people...can you say GREAT DEAL?! The staff was all very kind and attentive. There's a wide selection of wines both dry and sweet. I primarily drink dry wine, but surprisingly, some of my favorites were their sweet wines. Ended up buying a bottle of the cabernet sauvignon & the peach wine. For food we had the margherita pizza and spinach & artichoke dip. Both were very tasty. The only thing this place is missing is an actual vineyard. Once that's up and going, they'll have it all. They currently import the grapes but ferment them in house. read more

Nice winery - not so great as an event provider. Attended a wedding here recently and while they tried and succeeded on some things, they failed on several levels: Pros: 1) Good wine and great bartenders. 2) Nice setting Cons: 1) Absolutely no coordination or help with the wedding process. A relative of the bride jumped in and organized every detail with zero notice or planning in order to make the ceremony flow smoothly with correct music, at the right times, cues to everyone involved when it was their time to speak/walk/etc., placement of gifts, cakes for the cutting, etc. This would never have happened without her assistance because the venue folks were totally oblivious to what was going on. 2) It was freezing cold - and even with lots of older attendees, they refused to light the outdoor heaters. 3) the food was not great. Absolutely the dryest, dustiest, overcooked chick parm I've ever had. Awful, tasteless sauce couldn't save it. Raw bacon on some of the bacon-wrapped asparagus. read more

By far my favorite winery in Alabama. They have a huge selection of both sweet and dry wines. They were all so great that I had a tough time deciding which glass of wine to pick from. Reasonable prices and the service is beyond exceptional. Miss Tara and Matt Corbin were extremely friendly and have excellent knowledge of the wine making process. As for taste, if you're into sweet wine I would recommend The Tuxedo Junction. My personal favorite is the Merlot reserve. It's not overly dry like what you think most merlot would be. If I'm in the mood for sweet wine I would pick the Peach Chardonnay. Not only do they have a great selection of wine but they also have a bistro offering food like salads, wraps, and cheese plates. Perfect atmosphere for all weather conditions, they have an outdoor patio area which is dog-friendly and also an indoor patio area to enjoy the outside view. I also love that they have a fireplace in their dining area. They also host events like weddings and art classes. Look up their Facebook page to see what they have to offer. Came here last night for the Corbin Winery Idol Karaoke Contest and had such fun. Our reservation was lost, so at first I panicked and wasn't my best self, but the manager Heather handled the situation with such grace and kindness and soon we found ourselves eating delicious Brie with Blacberry jam, a charcuterie board and some artichoke dip along with their very yummy wines. If you go, be sure to try the wine slushes & the baked pimento cheese. The food is homemade here & very fresh. My husband and I visited Corbin Farms Winery for a Yelp Elite Event a few months ago. It was a lot of fun and many thanks to Will and Matt for organizing this event for our Elite team members. Matt Corbin and his partner did a good job serving the Flight, fixing the Flat Breads, arranging the Caprese Tomato and Mozzarella and then serving the Fruit, Cheese and Crackers. Corbin Farms is a relatively new winery in Calera, AL, opening October 2017. Matt Corbin and his family took over Vizzini Farms and then changed the name to Corbin Farms. Vizzini Farms won awards - and Corbin Farms has also medaled in competition. The Yelp Elite flight served included: * Cabernet Sauvignon - with a hint of cherries * Merlot - more tannins, hint of oak and melon * Chardonnay - hint of oak, vanilla and butter * Riesling - hints of lemon and green apple * Red Blend - 2 merlots mixed with raspberry syrup. This was light, easy going down. One would have to be careful of this one. It goes down way too easy. * Tuxedo junction - hints of chocolate, Carmel, raspberry - this is a very good dessert wine. * Muscadine Blend - hint of raspberry, blackberry and peach. After the flight, we were given the choice of another sample from their many other wines - and I chose the Pinot Noir, which was balanced and enjoyable. The only drawback for me was that at this point in the year, they had not thought about those who follow a special diet - whether from food allergies or medical issues, and that's why this is only a 4 star review. At this point, having been open for almost a year, I felt they hadn't considered special needs for their guests. I eat gluten free, so I could drink the wine, but most of the dishes had been contaminated with wheat products, so I was unable to enjoy the food that day. If you like vineyards and wine, then this place is right for you. I came here for a wine tasting/food event and it did not disappoint. They have the best pimento Mac n cheese. I'm not sure if it's a regular menu item or if it was special for this event. We started off with a few flights to try the different varieties of wine before settling on a bottle. All of the wine is so good, but we decided on Pinot Grigio. The peach Chardonnay was a very close second. We were able to sit outside and enjoy the views of the vineyard. Love this place! I've been here two times now and I feel like it just keeps getting better. The first time I came with a group of friends for my birthday. We did the wine tasting for about $10 which was a lot of fun. Also, the wine bottles are discounted if you do the wine tasting. Which makes the price pretty nice considering the quality of the wine. They also give you cute little wine glasses when you purchase a bottle of wine. Overall, I just really like the vibe this place gives off. Corbin Farms became a new favorite for me yesterday. I brought my gf here for part of her bday celebration after eating brunch at Galley & Garden. The inside is adorable and the staff is as sweet and as cheerful as can be. Everyone we spoke to had high energy, great recommendations and didn't miss a beat with service. This was our first time here so we naturally ordered wine flights to try a few different wines. You can get a flight of 4 2oz pours for around $10. As a collective, we tried a total of 12 wines. Mix and match to fit your own taste. There was not one that we did not like. The white blend, blackberry and tuxedo were a few of our favs - but again they all were great. We also had a couple of wine slushies. One of the young ladies suggested getting the two flavors (white blend and cranberry) mixed. We did and it did not disappoint. Cannot wait to visit again. I visited this winery on Saturday the 15th and the appearance is much nicer than when it was Vizzini. I love that they have events like the murder mystery dinner, that's cool. I tasted Corbin's wines at a Yelp event and they were all pretty good. I went to the winery to get a few bottles for gifts because of the sale they advertised online. However, when I got there Matt would not honor the online price and pretty much just brushed me off. Online there were a few that were $7.50 each on a half off sale. When I got ready to purchase two bottles of one of the advertised selections, I was then told that I had to buy three to get that price. He told me that it was an error and the way that it was set up did not allow the correct pricing or something to that effect. I felt that regardless, the advertised price should have been honored. Its not my fault that their advertising or whatever was incorrect. It's not likely that I'll return. It's not close as is and this experience ruined it for me. They should have at the very least stated somewhere that this was the ONLINE ONLY price. read more

I prefer the dry wines, but couldn't resist sampling the Tuxedo Junction, which is a delicious sweet wine with strong notes of chocolate and raspberry.
