Amazing local place in Chelsea located right off 280 and Chesser. They make their own wine and locally source their beer. Parking is across the street and on the same side of the winery. The winery is much more than just wine; it's a wedding venue, hosts multiple events like cookie and ornament decorating with free drinks included, has food trucks, and usually hosts someone local to support their business. This weekend was the Oktoberfest with pretzels and beer cheese, one local food truck, and local permanent jewelry maker. They had stein holding and keg throwing contests! All the workers were dressed in their best German attire. Music and decor were on point. You can pet their horses as the winery is also where the owners live. 2 restrooms located inside along with 2 inside bars and 1 outside bar. The seating area is covered with fans. There is a cornhole area and multiple different uncovered seating areas for you and your family to hang out. $0 admission. Great way to celebrate the start of fall.

Amazing service Wonderful atmosphere. Food truck typically every Saturday during warmer months. Keep an eye out for their media pages as they have cookie classes, movie night, ladies night. It really is a cute place to hangout. The owners are very friendly

Hubby and i stopped by this sweet little winery tucked away in Chelsea. Board in Birmingham was hosting the food, hence the charcuterie board to go in the pictures. We had our first slushy wine, which was so much fun to drink. They hold different event all the time. Definitely check out their website and stop by to enjoy some wine and feel like you are in the Napa valley.

Yelp! My Goddaughter's mother got married this Saturday at Cat N Bird. What a beautifully rustic event venue! Everything about you is inviting. People are everywhere laughing and fellowshipping. The blue and peach colors are everywhere but not over zealous. Hats off to the decorators. Nice people are passing thru offering drinks as we wait to move to the ceremony area. You have so much indoor space, but every thing screams outside, please. From the wedding scene planted with the train backdrop, to the swing set in the middle of the open barn that's designated with reception flare. I love it. Farm animals can be seen wondering around the property. But, You can tell they are accustomed to having guest. Wedding was gorgeous. Food from Bright Star was good too. I had a blast and thanks for the popcorn favors. Cat N Bird is a sure plus. Y'all already know, somebody needs to get married and I'll be back.

I purchased a Groupon for a wine tasting at Cat-n-Bird Winery and made a reservation to go on a Saturday afternoon at 3:30. First off, the staff is super friendly. They were very busy but the staff was efficient and seemed happy to be there. Emily was awesome! The tasting consisted of 3 white and 3 red wine selections. I love wine and enjoyed them all. The Groupon also included a cheese plate. I highly recommend this place for a wine tasting or just to hang out and a Saturday afternoon. They also do special events.

We used a Groupon on a Saturday afternoon for a red and white wine flight. The winery is in the bottom floor of a beautiful farm house. We sat outside where they had fans and lovely music. I also enjoyed watching the horses in the yard nearby. The patio was covered so not too hot. The staff was VERY friendly. There had been a baby shower so they brought my boyfriend and I out some of the left over food including a pesto pasta and lemon cake. They also were busy when we first got there and weren't able to start our sampling right away, so they sent our complimentary glasses of wine for us to enjoy while we waited (which was really only like 5 minutes) The wine itself was also great. I will say I am not a wine connoisseur but I really did enjoy them all. I loved all the wine pairings as well. We did buy a bottle of red, and look forward to trying it again at home!

Ran across this place by accident and came to check it out the following day. Although they are only open on Saturdays, the place is a gem! The owner was there when we arrived along with a sweet woman named Karen who was conducting the flight tastings. After chatting with the owner a bit, I discovered that you can bring in your own food, and grub hub delivers. They will show football games in the fall but still plan to close at 6. They are a house divided so both games will be shown. The wine was great! Not muscadine wine and there is an abundance of information about where they import from on a scrolling screen in the tasting room. It has a rustic vibe that is great for porch sitting as well as more intimate events. Run, don't walk to this venue!

We visited Cat n Bird Winery as a group for our annual Christmas wine tasting tour. Matt the owner is super nice and a great host/pourer - so much fun! This winery was the first stop on our wine trail/tour. They have a variety of dry wines to taste and the Moscato is really good! Our group purchased a couple of bottles and left satisfied and happy. Definitely try the port - it was my fav! Thanks for having us Matt! -The Winettes!

This was my first visit to the winery but for sure won't be my last. The atmosphere is laid back and relaxed. The view is of trees and a barnyard, very beautiful in fall with the outdoor seating. Indoor is plenty of seating at the bar, and tables in the back. And plenty of t.v.s; you won't miss your favorite game at all. We used a Groupon for the wine tasting and I was a guest of a birthday party...great idea. I am not sure how much it costs. The host of the party brought more food after our wine taste. So bring some treats. The cheese and crackers are good with the wine, and they have a chart so you can pair the right cheese with the wine. The guy needed some help with his guest because he was alone. He probably wasn't expecting the large group but he was very knowledgeable and gave me some etiquette tips on sipping and tasting. This would be good for a first date, girls afternoon, couples date, get together place. Wear comfy shoes because the parking lot is rocky and very small. There is additional parking across the street. Get there early and enjoy.

We really enjoyed the staff & live music here. It had such a friendly neighborhood vibe and they offered cheese & wine pairings. We did the sample of 6 for $10 but found a favorite brut and ended up just sticking with that! Worth a trip! 7 min from 119 & 280 intersection.

We loved this experience! This is a lovely winery that competes with some of my favs in Colorado! The owners are friendly and have great stories. Their wines change throughout the seasons. They have Saturday tastings and special events during the week.

The table arrangements of tables, booth seating, and cocktail tables were great so you could have a cocktail hour, as well as a seated dinner. The food was from the Gianmarco's menu and it was absolutely delicious. We had three appetizers in the cocktail hour. One was a mushroom bruschetta, one was a fried oyster bruschetta, and a small Caprese appetizer. The fried oyster and Caprese appetizer were the only two I tried and they were so fresh and delicious. I really liked that the fried oyster crostini and the mushroom bruschetta were served on small slate square plates. It was a really unique way to serve the hors d'oeuvres and the presentation was beautiful. Everybody's main meals looked so delicious and I was very pleased with my lamb. It was cooked absolutely perfectly and so flavorful and tender. I will say that the chicken Parmesan looked phenomenal and we had one friend order the veal Parmesan and it was an insane amount of food. He had never tried veal before and he really enjoyed it! The servers and team there were so hospitable and friendly. I would definitely keep this place in mind in the future for private events.

The main point of our trip to Birmingham was to see an exhibit at the art museum. However, we are…read moreearly rises (especially with the 1-hour time difference from home), so we had some time in the morning to fill. My wife determined that the local botanical garden opened by 7 a.m. (!) and was also free, so we opted to stop here before the museum opened later at 10 a.m. We made it here by around 7:30 a.m. A word of caution - the highway interchange nearby was nightmarish. We missed 2 turns (even with a navigation app running). I don't think it was just me. So be careful and add a few extra minutes to get lost. Once finally off they highway and through the final roundabout, we proceeded along a road bordering the gardens. On the other side appeared to be an expensive hotel and an upscale shopping / dining plaza. The garden was having some sort of plant sale, and crowds were apparently expected. They had traffic control cones in place, but we arrived early enough so that parking was still plentiful. When we left, it seemed like the lot had mostly filled up. The gardens are quite large. They are divided up into sub-areas and there is a large map posted about 100 yards inside the main gate. No paper maps were on offer, so I guess you can take a photo of theirs and use that. We first strolled to the Japanese Garden. We had this to ourselves until almost when we left. This area is quite large by itself. They have koi ponds, a tea house, etc. It was nice. We took an alternate path back to the map pavilion. From there, we explored other areas (mostly dedicated to specific flowers). Some of the terrain is hilly. We routed through the vegetable garden and eventually ended up back at the central formal rose garden. This was being watered periodically that morning and some of the brick paths in it were flooded. They seemed to have some satellite restrooms in remote areas, in addition to the main set near the gate. We spent almost 2 hours here and probably could have spent even more time, but we wanted to drive to our prime stop. If you have any interest in botanical gardens, this is a very worthwhile stop.

One of the first things I appreciated was free parking and free entrance, which is always an…read moreattractive feature. From there, it just kept getting better. You can easily spend hours exploring the many trails that wind through beautiful flowers and plants, the serene Japanese Gardens, and even an active beehive community--which was my favorite part! We were on a bit of a time limit and didn't get to walk the entire property, but we still managed to spend about two hours covering roughly three miles, and it never felt rushed. While it's still a little early in spring for everything to be in full bloom, there were still plenty of gorgeous floral displays to enjoy. Some of the trail directions can be a bit confusing at times, and we did end up wandering off course once or twice. That said, it was never difficult to find our way back to the main trail and continue exploring. If you're looking for a place to meander, slow down, and truly enjoy nature, this is absolutely the place to do it. A peaceful and rewarding experience overall.
