This Cora is located in the strip mall at the south east corner of Boul Saint-Charles and Boul Hymus in Kirkland just south of the 40 (West Island). I knew them as Cora's and in Quebec and even in Leduc, AB they were Chez Cora (Cora's en Francais) and now it's just called Cora...? Either way they were always a good standard place for breakfast. Their menu has changed a bit that is there's some new things but for the most part all the old staples are all there. My go to back in the day has been the gargantuan since it's one of the larger breakfast platters but this time I ended up getting the Construction Joe which had 3 of each bacon and sausage. I felt like having more meat today and wasn't in the mood for cretons (a pate like spread). My wife wanted a bowl of oatmeal but also wanted more so she ended up ordering the brunch burger as well. It's a burger with bacon and a cheese omelette on top. Not bad I have to say. This breakfast was filling but I don't know if Cora/Cora's/Chez Cora had more appeal back in the day or what. I know they are much more commonly found than back when they were only in Quebec but they're still popular it seems. Today the food is still good but not necessarily special. I'd still go to Cora as an option for a decent sit down breakfast.

Large portion. Good taste. Good service. To avoid wasting food and get obese, I'd suggest two people share one order. Tip is included in the bill. The restroom (for men) was a bit smelly this morning.

Once done, head over to Studio 77 and sit on their terrace with a nice combo of coffee and pastry. They even offer salad and an assortment of sandwiches. Salads, however, are only served during the summer. The staff is courteous and quick with their service! The cafe is a bit small and is always packed with customers but with patience, you can find a nice table, either indoor or outdoor. You can even order some alcoholic drinks if you're in the mood, from wine to spirits. The decor is also quite modern and rustic, adds a nice touch to the overall atmosphere. All in all, this is a nice and cozy place and I love returning for fresh food, coffee followed by a nice stroll by the water. A must try!

I was told more than once that I was welcome to bring my dog in during the winter to stand in line for take out only. All was fine until one day on what had a become routine I was met by I assume the owner who loudly and rudely shouted NO DOGS. When I tried to explain that I had previously been invited in. he repeated AND DON'T DO IT AGAIN. Of course I would never have entered a place without such permission. So, of course I have never been back. Lovely , friendly welcoming cafe across to street and better fresh pastry . it's not the rule it's the attitude that's the problem.

Bought 2, one Apple Crumble Caramel Cheesecake which I preferred than the other. I wish it had more of the crumble though, at least it would have felt like I was eating something, this was just like a mouth full of nothing icing, sadly. Even the graham crust at the bottom wasn't a crust, it was loose powder which felt really weird to eat with all this soft texture. I normally really like soft cheesecake but this was just all over the place. The apple pieces inside was not enough to balance, very stingy. This isn't good by itself, if I were stuck with it again, I'd have it with fruit or ontop of a real cake or something lol The other was their fudge raspberry cheesecake, which was the preferred one by the rest of my family, but again, none of them were happy and told me to give up on this restaurant, sad as we use to be excited for this place years ago. Anyways! I didn't like this one because the fudge just stuck to my teeth and I had to fight it off my fork lol, was like a very sticky pudding. My dad said that it feels like they've done a lot of cost reduction and that I should just do homemade instead @,@ I found it incredibly overpriced. I paid around 75$ for both together. Not worth it, I don't recommend. I don't even think they care at this point because the market is good for giving people cheap tricks.
