We spent some time in West Palm, and decided to head down to the keys. Went on line and booked a trip for the Gulf Stream to go fishing. Booked it on line and the kids were pumped. Arrived at the dock early and found out that they can celled the trip. There were only 10 people and they said they needed 15. I offered to pay the difference because these kids wanted to get out on the water, but they they said the owner did not feel like taking the boat out. Strange to me, but it is her boat! Any way we headed over to Hurricane hole marina and ran into Skip on Neptuna fishing Charters. He is a great guy, with a awesome 34 Fountain boat. All the gear was in perfect condition and after we stopped at his hidden pin fish honey hole, the bait wells were full to overflowing. Off we went. On a 34 fountain with twin 275 verado fourstrokes, he was gettin it on.... Since we had a half day charter, we started hitting the patch reefs and the action was good. Lots of short groupers, a big Goliath on a small spinning rod, along with mangoroves, yellowtails, a strawberry and 3 sweet muttons. Everyone had a great time, and two kids from colorado, had a trip of a lifetime!!

The lady manning the desk and taking payments was not very friendly but that only takes 5 minutes. We left the dock right on time and headed out to the reef to bottom fish. The best part about the day was how well Rich took care of everyone around us. You can tell he genuinely cares for people, loves seeing guests catching fish and is good at his job. Jessie was also friendly and helpful, and so was the captain...who surprisingly was also helping on deck. A couple of people on board caught a handful of decent sized fish but many others...including the three people in or party didn't catch anything of significant size. Most of the fish were just bait stealers. We did move a couple of times and a couple of nice size sharks were reeled in, but that was about it. Not the fault of the crew, just a bad day. They do sell snacks, water, beer and soda and that prices are reasonable. There is not much shade anywhere on the boat and several people had to go inside to cool down. Overall it wasn't a bad day but not the best boat I've ever been on.

We were visiting the Keys and booked with Captain…read moreTorre based on a recommendation from a local tackle shop ("good kid, works hard", they said) and I'm glad I listened to them!! We booked a morning four hour reef/wreck charter for four people - me, my wife, and our 2 kids (college and high school aged). Torre was waiting for us at the dock when we arrived and we were quickly on our way. We stopped on flats looking to net some live bait (pilchard?). Torre said live bait will make all the difference. So after a little bit of stalking, we found some bait and after Torre threw a few cast nets, we were off to the fishing ground a few miles from shore. Once we got out to the fishing grounds, it didn't take long to start catching cero mackerel. All four of us enjoy fishing, so we had a couple of flat lines out with live bait and once we started hitting the flat lines, it was game on!!! With all of the lines in the water, we were catching fast enough where there were times we were re-tying and rebaiting our rods, because Torre was busy bringing fish in or re-tying lost/tangled rods. Because we all fish, we didn't mind at all helping out, because the more time your line is in the water, the better your chances of catching fish. And we were definitely catching fish!! Our final total at the dock were 17 cero mackerel and one yellow tail snapper. We lost a few others before we could land them, released 4-5 more and lost one to a shark, since we ended up reeling in just a mackerel head. And thanks to that mackerel head, we even lost what might've been a goliath grouper with a bottom rig we baited with it... ahhh... the one that got away... And Torre was right... Once we ran out of live bait towards the end of our time and switched to cut bait, the action definitely died down. We had such a great time, Torre was able to squeeze us in for an afternoon charter the next day. It took us longer to find bait (checked three different spots) but we were willing to do the work to improve our chances of catching. And we did great for a second day in a row!! This time we were further out in ~300 feet of water 8-9 miles from shore looking for tuna. Our count for day two was... 3 huge mutton snapper, one blackfin tuna, and one bonito tuna all off bottom rigs. The numbers were lower, but the action was just as good. Reeling in from 300' deep is no joke!! When we are back in the Keys, we'll definitely call Torre to book a fishing charter again!!! I know fishing can be hit or miss, so we might've just been lucky two days in a row, but Torre was a great captain and great to fishing with!! Tight Lines!!!

He seems young, but has over 20 years experience. If you're fishing in Key West, this IS the best charter! We've done 25 charters on the east coast and have usually had good luck with the crew, but Jason takes it to a whole new level. We will definitely be fishing with Jason again.

We hope to do this every year. We caught the trifecta of fish,sailfish, dolphin,and tuna....with a barracuda thrown in for fun! and my husband caught a plastic bag just to help the environment! The…read morecharter trip will hold 4-6 people with 2-man Crew, and tHe only items we needed to bring were sunscreen, food we were to eat in the 4 hours, if anY, and beverages. All else was included with the charter. We caught a Sailfish (6-footer), a Barracuda, 2 Bonito fish, and a 24 pound Mackerel which we took for food. There were many other charters fishing around us, who weren't catching anything. We lost a few big fish as well (the fish broke the line). We had such a great time we're planning on another charter next year! There are many charters in Key West, but we chose the Eva Marie because it was a larger boat, it has Air Conditioning & a Head (bathroom). Thanks Captain John-- We'll be back!

Great time on the water with Captain Alie! This is a very personal trip, not a crowded boat at all…read more She is very knowledgeable about the water in KW, which made us all feel safe. There is no set destination, the captain visits s bunch of spots depending on the time of day and weather conditions, so every trip is unique and customized. Boating with this charter is a true local experience. I highly recommend going with this charter over one of the larger companies.
