We came with big expectations to the IatBO due to favorable review on TA. It is well located and…read morethe staff really go out of their way to accommodate you. The rooms (at least ours) was HUGE, probably almost 1000 sqft, with a large BR, LR, kitchenette, and bath, There are problems, however. The highly touted geothermal heating, really didn't work that well, with blowing cold air, and the hot water never was that hot or plentiful. The fancy net-based house phone didn't work either, nor did the coffee maker. Although located on a quiet street, it is opposite a construction site that it quite noisy, and the street does get a surprising amount of traffic. The staff, though helpful, are a bit too "laid back" for my taste, just seem like some "slouchers" hanging around the front desk more than service professionals. For my money, I'll stay next time at a big chain and leave the autoclaved gypsum walls, hypoallergenic concrete floors, organically grown linens, and geothermal heating for someone else to enjoy.

Omg it's like wow I just ate but all of a sudden I'm hungry :)..our room was spacious and very cozy. They have a nice size jacuzzi in the bathroom area and they also give you a complimentary bottle of wine. Be sure to ask for it as we did when we checked in. The only reason i can't give this hotel 5 stars is because i could not get with the fact that they didn't have a microwave in the room. They had a frig but that was it. Maybe it's just me but if i had to stay there more than one night i would have preferred to have one. The organic very very healthy breakfast was super delicious. I enjoyed every bite.. also kudos to the comfortable bed. Overall it was a great stay :) And definitely nicer for couples..

And the venue is all about Baltimore. It's on the site of one of the Carroll mansions and close to the flag house. Lots of history to consume. There is also lodging on site. And a courtyard for weddings right off S Front St. This is where the ceremony was held. The catering venue consists of four floors. Elevators are available for those needing it. The cocktail hour was held on the second floor under the City Lights. Dinner on the fourth. Wall murals all about Baltimore! Easy access via elevator or stairs. The food and beverage business at 1840's Plaza is exclusive to Rouge Catering of Hunt Valley. Exceptional team of professionals and food! Many shy away from evenings in town. Most of the time I can't blame them. But 1840's Plaza is well worth considering if you're planning a family or business event. Even if the fire alarm mysteriously goes off!

What a lovely venue! I attended a Friday evening wedding in May 2022. The wedding was initially…read moresupposed to be outside but the rain spared no mercy that evening so everything had to be moved inside. The staff and crew executed everything perfectly!! The transition was smooth! The ballrooms are spacious, vaulted ceilings, nice drapery but a bit outdated for my taste. I'm sure that's the theme of the place but I think even if vintage or retro is the theme/look, they could still use a facelift. It's wheelchair accessible! The courtyard is also love and spacious. Huge dance floors. 4 stars instead of 5 because of the food. It was bland, dry and bare served room temperature. For dinner we had dry stuffed chicken with some sort of flavorless sauce, green beans that were sautéed lightly, also flavorless and truffle mashed potatoes with caramelized onions. A rather bland seafood creole dish was on the menu as well. I took one bite and couldn't finish. They were absolute my delicious! I had two servings to make up for the rest of the food. We also had a seafood creole dish that tasted like canned tomato soup with with frozen shrimp and scallops. Others enjoyed. ‍

I but the food was great! Between us we got a chicken sandwich topped with crab imperial which my husband loved, crab cakes which were meaty and delicious. The kids got a burger that they loved and fried shrimp which was not greasy and big and my daughter loved that. I also got an orange crush to drink and it was so good! We sat outside on a nice day and it really turned itself around. The food took a while to come out is my only complaint and with kids it got a bit iffy. They got my sons burger wrong and the fix had him eating way after everyone else. They comped a drink so that was nice but like I said the kids were melting down at that point.

Baltimore City Restaurant week, I love you!…read more I picked this restaurant for Winter Restaurant Week Lunch and I was very happy I did. Overall I had a very very good visit. I walked in and I was greeted immediately by Kelsey. I was informed I could sit where ever I wanted to sit and on which ever level floor I chose to and they would find me and take care of me. They did just that. I chose to sit on the 2nd level because it was a little warmer up there and I was able to have time to myself to catch up on my Yelp. I was given menus immediately although I already knew what I wanted. I ordered immediately and was informed that I made great selections and great selections indeed. I ordered their Firecracker Shrimp appetizer and B.A.L.T. Sandwich as my entree. The appetizer was plated lovely! It was so tasty and good. The B.A.L.T. is where we ran into some problems, but before I get to that let me finish out the greatness. The French Fries that I received with my sandwich was so good that I stop eating my Shrimp Appetizer because I had to eat each and every one of those curly seasoned fries. They were so so so good! They didn't even need ketchup! Now, this B.A.L.T. Sandwich was so sad I think I saw it crying on my plate. I got 1 scrawny piece of bacon for each half. They gave me the entire head of lettuce and I opted not to get the avocado and mayo but 1 miserable piece of bacon on each half... heartbreaking. For that reason this place gets a 4. Only reason I didn't give them a 3 is because the young lady that assisted (Kelsey) was fantastic! She was so sweet and kind. She came at the right time all the time and each time she needs to see me she had to run upstairs to check on little old me and appeared to have no problem with it. I would definitely eat there again but no way in hell would I order that B.A.L.T. sandwich. Ultimately worth a visit Yelpers !!

** 5 Year Review Update **…read more Fells Point continues to be great for the most part. Quality restaurants and boutiques, gorge water views, some of the coolest folks you'd ever meet. Some establishments have left, some have joined. The crowds stay heavy. Sadly lately, the crime has increased making it sometimes difficult to enjoy. Parking is gawd awful, but worth the hustle. I pray this area improves as Baltimore City deserves this.

Historic waterfront neighborhood [Baltimore MD]…read more Did some research while looking for places to visit in Baltimore and bookmarked this neighborhood. Fell's Point is located along the north shore of the Baltimore Harbor and just less than 10 miles from our hotel... we made our way here on MLK Day. Surprisingly, not all the businesses were closed on a holiday. We arrived around 10:30a and found parking. There are a few options for parking including metered parking and convenient lots and garages. We found an open spot on Thames Street. Fell's Point is beautiful as it was once a bustling shipbuilding port. We walked the snowy sidewalks and enjoyed the views of the wharf. Fell's Point is a historic waterfront and one of the oldest neighborhoods in Baltimore. It has served as the home to jazz singer Billie Holiday and abolitionist Frederick Douglass. I loved the cobblestone streets with many waterfront restaurants and bars and the local cute boutiques shops. We had brunch at Barcocina and did some window shopping at the cozy shops. We also shared a pastry purchased from Pitango Bakery Cafe located right there at the waterfront. Review #3664
