(Tip: if you are a first time parent, please book a spot for your kid ahead of time). In our case, we got one last spot for our 2 month old daughter (then) and she started the school the following week. I remember first walking into the school and taking the tour appreciating its beautiful building, playground and classes. During our tour, an older kid walked into the office and gave a hug to one of the directors. It was such a great sign. Not only that kid loved the school, teachers but also directors in the front office. Since 2017, Goddard school in Herndon has been a part of our life. My older one graduated from Goddard school in 2022. She always had amazing teachers around her who not only cared for her but also loved her. Even today when we go to pick up our younger daughter, our older daughter still hugs those teachers (many of them are still here which is so unique for the school). I should mention my daughter had Ms. Padmini as a teacher who is a Computer Engineer turned to educator. One morning, when I was dropping my daughter off, I heard Ms. Padmini teaching signs using alpha, beta, delta. Now, Ms. Padmini designs the curriculum for the entire school. The kids are in great hands with her. They are truly getting STEAM focused education. Ms. Marilynn has been a caring, energetic and wonderful administrator. Last winter, one evening my car just would not start because of battery issues. Ms. Marilynn stayed with us until my husband arrived to make sure we were okay. I don't know a whole lot of people who would do this but having her in this school has given me comfort that my daughters are in a caring place. Ms. Abha has been excellent owner of this school. As a former preschool teacher herself, she brings a wealth of experience. She has brought very practical changes/enhancements to the school. It is no wonder that school gets voted to be the one of the best schools in this area. I would highly recommend this school. Thanks to the amazing education at this school, my kids turned social, friendly, and confident. They look forward to going to their respective schools and are progressing by leaps and bounds. What else can one parent ask for!

We started our nearly 2 year old in January. The owner is wonderful, a former educator who has…read moredemonstrated to me that she puts quality of care above profit. There are also two directors who are actively engaged in my child's experience. This administration team has also demonstrated they apply a high standard to their teachers in hiring, as I observe new trial-period classroom aides either growing into a permanent position or being asked to depart ways because the person was not the right fit. The result is a team of incredible teachers! When my daughter had a difficult time transitioning to her new 2 year old classroom, it felt as if every teacher in the building was aware and working to help her through the emotional journey - teachers from other classrooms stopping me in the hallway to ask how she's been doing. For me, it is a difficult decision to not be the primary caretaker for my daughter. The Goddard School of Herndon team understands that and seems to me that they operate knowing they are taking care of the most important thing to me - my kid.

Not to mention, the staff, the headmaster and his family, are all so incredibly kind and an excellent reflection of core Christian values that I want my son to be influenced by. Ms. Weathers pours her heart into these children and my son adores her! She is incredibly sweet and my son always comes home talking about nothing but positive experiences with this teacher. I recommend this school to all my fellow Christians who want a solid Christian education for their children. They are doing it right here

My husband and I enrolled my son in this school. We thought it would be a good experience, a small…read moreschool that is Christian based. Sadly it was a terrible for our entire family. Everyday when my husband picked up my son, he was notified of some behavior that my son did that was wrong. Wrongs committed included: being reminded to tuck in his shirt, having a messy locker, messy backpack, asking to many questions, writing in an assignment that he thought women could be pastors (he was alone in that thought), and using the word stupid. During his time there a student threw a ball in his groin area, that same student threw rocks at him and almost hit him in the head, and was told by a student he would go to hell because of his, religion, A member of staff told us he thought a student was autistic, not our son. and our son heard a members of staff use racist and homophobic language. My husband and I had a meeting with member of staff. We were criticized for buying my extra copies of his textbooks to leave at home. He questioned why my son wrote math problems in the front of his textbook. When I explained I paid for the book, and that my son could write in the book. We were told our son was rude and disrespectful because we are rude and disrespectful. Not the first time a member of my family was called rude and disrespectful. My husband was yelled at by a staff member when he asked "if our son could do anything right." After I talked about the math book, the member of staff tried to keep it. I politely retrieved the book and explained, we would keep the book as we paid for it. We were also chastised for hiring a tutor for my son and told we were to involved in his education. We were told to move out of the way so the school could do what they needed to do. When we asked about the qualifications of one of our son's teachers, we were told that was of no importance and none of our business. The next day after that meeting, thirty minutes prior to my husband leaving to drive our son to school, we were notified by email the school was not a good fit for my family. And that my son did not need to attend school that day. I am not upset that my son is no longer a student but I think thirty minutes notice is not appropriate or professional. Had my husband not seen the email he would have driven our son to school as usual. The school at no point tried to work with us. He was constantly criticized and bullied by both students and staff. For a five (5) figure tuition we found this unacceptable. My husband wrote a review of the school. We were contacted by a staff member and told that if our reviews were not removed from Yelp, our places of employment would be contacted about the reviews. I am not sure what the person hoped to accomplish with that statement. I do not believe that type of statement is/was a very Christian response.

The director of this school is truly passionate about making this school the very best it can be. Any issues or feedback I have had in the past were always welcomed and resolved almost immediately. The director is engaged in your child's progress and wants to help each child meet their full potential. The teachers are wonderful, providing feedback on your child's progress regularly. I had some issues with my child at home and not only did they give me suggestions, they were willing to come and observe at my house. This is not your typical school. I am grateful that my daughter has such a wonderful environment to grow and learn.

Public Schools are free so parents have to put up with it, but we pay a hefty tuition for a private school, we expect better. In addition to that, they close on many other occasions such as two weeks on Christmas, one week for Spring Break, teacher's service day, and more. My daughter is currently going there and I'm considering other options because of this. In terms of staff and curriculum, it's just okay. The teacher - student ratio there is quite high for the 3-6 year-old class (10 to 1). Considering how high the tuition is, the ratio should be lower. Overall the school is quite inflexible. If you want to cancel the contract, you have to notify them 3 MONTHS IN ADVANCE, which is an awefully long time to wait if you are not happy with the arrangements there.

5 Stars speak for itself how happy I am as a parent with this school…read more I have 2 boys who attended this school. One will be graduating this year and older son graduated about 5 years back. I cannot thank enough to all the teachers who work so hard to create confidence and desire to learn in a fun way. The school values the importance of many aspect of learning and growing at young age. The teachers understand the needs, personality and style of each student. They will work according to that child needs and wants. Biggest thing that attracted us as a parent to this school in 2003 was low turn over of teachers. And it still stays true after almost of decade knowing the teachers and Mrs. Khan at the school. The facility is not a fancy place that will try to sell parents but a happy place to bring out the best of your child.

Oh Montessori School of Herndon - how do I love thee? Let me count the ways…read more My husband came across MSH after my youngest daughter was knocked off another pre-k's wait list. And I'm glad that happened. What started off as a lukewarm feeling with MSH soon developed into a deep appreciation and respect for the teachers and staff. Tirelessly and patiently they encourage kids to challenge themselves, foster a love of learning, and treat each other with mutual kindness and respect. MSH isn't the fanciest Montessori nor the newest. As parents we're driven to believe there is some sort of correlation between a child's education and a fancy school facade. The MSH location is in a house-like structure with a lot of space to learn and play. It's cleanliness and tidiness is exemplary. The head Director's views on education and teaching philosophy clinched the deal for me. The Campus Director/teacher is the reason I will continue sending my daughter to MSH. She is firm but fair, has a great sense of humor, and caters her approach to children based on their unique personalities. My daughter's morning teacher is a gem. We couldn't have asked for a better pre-k teacher. Evidence of the fact is during parent teacher conferences when she goes over a detailed explanation of your child's progress instead of glossing over the semester and dismissing your concerns. I'd also like to recognize all the other wonderful staff at MSH who teach, protect, and care for our kids. Finally and most importantly - my daughter loves to go to MSH each and every morning (well almost every morning -- toddlers don't like Monday's either.)
