I have taken every class that this facility has offered and participated in almost all of their special events, including an extreme long range shoot where we took 50 BMG and 338 Lapua rifles out beyond 3,000 yards. This is a training facility that places a strong emphasis and learning basic shooting fundamentals to the point where they are reflexive. Furthermore, the curriculum is constantly evolving, which emphasizes the value of retaking specific courses for further learning. I couldn't imagine training anywhere else. As a bonus, the membership program offers discounts on training, some free special events, and even some opportunities for private land hunting. The bottom line is that training at this facility is not cheap, but you are getting a very high quality product. Training with firearms at VX Marksmanship is comparable to taking swim lessons with Michael Phelps or boxing lessons from Floyd Mayweather: You won't find a better experience anywhere else.

Everyone who works there is professional with safety as the literal top priority. I taught my kids to shoot there. In past ~5 years or so, builders have built homes about a mile away. Northwest ISD has built a school. Country acreage and fields still surround on all sides. Two bullets were found at the new school, and the assumption is that it was bullets from the public range which has tall berms and does not directly have line of aim to the school. This range's presence is not a safety issue. For folks are concerned about this, consider having NISD foot the bill to build bigger berms or indoor shooting range for Quail Creek. Why not? NISD is already spending our tax money like water.

I live in a neighboring city and thought it was worth the try. I wanted to sell one of my handguns and online info was they paid fair value for used guns? I went in on 9/23 about 1 or 1:15pm and waited at the Gunsmith counter. In about 5 minutes I was waved over to the counter. The first thing I noticed was the employee did not look like ex military so I thought maybe there were other staff in different jobs. I explained why I was there and handed the employee my S&W box my gun was still in, never fired and in the same box and contents from when I bought it. The employee pulled out the Semi Auto .40 caber and took a quick look and told me what my gun was?? He then said there is no demand for these and the best I could do is $50! I was shocked naturally by not only the offer but his less than friendly/or professional his approach was. I smiled and said wow the pawn shop in Lewisville offered me $150 and I thought they were getting to me? He responded we can't sell these on GunBroker because we can't get our money out of them! I told him that I had been on GunBroker that morning to see what they were selling for and there were NONE for sale as used, and there were 2 sellers with new ones at $299 each in other states. He closed out by saying we can't resell those??? Just for the record my gun is a S&W .40 CALIBER SD MODEL 4". It was purchased new for $329 in April and was never used or fired. I purchased a used .45 S&W about 6 weeks later because that is the gun I wanted but new they were very expensive in the metroplex. I paid half what a new one would cost. I was only hoping to get a fair price for the .40 since I had replaced it but I made a mistake of coming to your store! FYI I had two older brothers serv in the military years ago and have a strong respect for the military! I chose to go into Law Enforcement after school instead. I would like to say the facility is beautiful but is more expensive than 3 other DFW gun stores/ranges. At this time I can't say if I would go back to your store due to pricing but mainly due to the employee I dealt with. He was not professional and actually was almost rude! He dealt with me and dismissed me in under 2 minutes and no one was in line behind me. He had NO desire to keep me as a customer for your store! If you are looking for a high class gun store and range this may be your place. Hopefully you are not trying to sell a firearm and you don't get this employee that I got! The really bad part is I made 2 prior trips to TGE before yesterday only to be told the "buyer" was not there? The first time he was at a late lunch and to come back in an hour. I was very disappointed with my recent experience at Shoot Smart West Freeway…read more Since the range was remodeled, they have removed the flat shooting bench or countertop that used to be in each lane. That surface gave you a safe, convenient place to lay your firearm between loads while keeping it pointed downrange. The only surface available to us was a small Rubbermaid-style cart about three and a half feet tall. This made working with and sighting in long guns extremely awkward and nearly impossible. The range was also uncomfortably hot. An employee explained that the air conditioning was running on high, but the exhaust system that removes gun smoke and fumes also pulls the cooled air out almost as quickly as it enters. I understand the importance of proper ventilation, but the temperature made shooting very uncomfortable. The retail inventory was also ridiculously understocked. I was looking for tinted shooting glasses, magazines for several firearms, speed loaders, and a barrel-cooling fan so I could safely cool my rifle before returning it to its case. They had none of these items. When I asked about the lack of merchandise, an employee told me their inventory manager was not doing a very good job. On the positive side, all the employees were friendly and courteous. The gunsmith was especially helpful and was able to sight in the rifle I had been struggling with very quickly. Unfortunately, friendly employees and a capable gunsmith were not enough to overcome the poor range setup, excessive heat, and severely limited inventory. I will be trying a different shooting range the next time I go shooting.

If you need to rent a weapon, they have several there to choose from. They also have all kinds of ammo in case you left yours at home. Just in case you have to wait for a lane, there's plenty to do in the store. They've got a wide selection of sportsman's equipment available throughout the store. Both the service and the value are excellent. This is definitely my favorite place to go in Fort Worth!
