My last visit to Copa Cabana for a friend's birthday reminded me of the reasons why I don't frequent this place often. For $70 (tax & tip included) + flat fee of $25 cake cutting fee for the table, I expected better food and faster service. I've been to all three Copa Cabana locations and I find this one to be the most crowded, as the tables were very close to each other and I could hear the conversations happening at the table beside me. In terms of notable food mentions, my favourites were the bacon wrapped filet mignon & the grilled pineapple; other meats including the garlic sirloin, lamb, parmesan sirloin, and chicken were either too salty or dry. The buffet table was nicely set up with two distinct sections - one with soup, rice, pita & dip (guac & hummus), and some pasta options. The larger section had bread (my favourite was the cranberry cheese!), cheese & meats, and a variety of salad options. As others have mentioned, the pita and guacamole was my favourite! The person who was serving us the meats and grilled pineapple was very friendly and tried to accommodate our requests the best he could. Our actual server was also friendly but slow - we needed to remind her multiple times of our requests (e.g., more napkins, refiling water). During our last call, she asked us what our table would still like to try and we mentioned a couple of things, but only the grilled pineapple came. Overall an okay dining experience. read more

It's been years since I've been to a Brazilian steakhouse, over a decade if I had think about it. Because of that this was going to be a whole new experience as far as my memory served. My wife and I as well as our neighbors received gift cards for Copacabana back in December of '16 and only until now did we finally get to use them. While there were several locations to visit such as the core, Yonge and Eg, we agreed to go to the one in Vaughan simply because the parking would be easier. I had noticed weeks before that Saturdays on Open Table were blocked off from making reservations. I had called the reservations number (toll free number for all the locations) and had inquired for an early table at 5pm on a Saturday on the Tuesday of that week and was able to get a table for 4 no problem. They had called me back before noon on Saturday to confirm our reservation and arrival. As for being in Vaughan this location is not near the Colossus on 7 or near the busy area of Vaughan Mills. It's rather in a quieter part west of the 7/400 megacomplex in a stripmall on Marycroft east of Pine Valley. Upon arriving there was plenty of parking mind you we were an early bunch arriving just before 5pm. The interior has some pretty nice décor and while they weren't set up for the outdoor seating yet the outdoor area is visible from the bar area near the main entrance and it looks like a really nice space. The way this place works is that each person pays a flat rate of 50 dollars as it's all you can eat. While there's a buffet for both cold and hot items, the meat is brought to your table by individuals who will shave it off spits and with your tongs (each person has a mini tong) you are to get the shavings and use your small side plate to collect it. This concept has been around for a while. There are a wide variety of almost all beef dishes (it is a steak place after all) whether cuts, how it's prepared or what it's placed with. There are too many to mention. In addition to the beef they also have lamb and for an extra special treat they have grilled pineapple as well this is so tasty. It's very hard as a Yelper to take in the photos of this place. It's a buffet for the cold and hot items as sides but I found myself preoccupied with obtaining meat instead of taking photos so the gist is many people will come to your table and continuously bring you meat and it's all very good. If you are not partial to medium cooked they will do well done requests which may take a bit longer but they don't forget and seemingly are constantly bringing you more morsels to try in a nonstop meat fest. The cold buffet included a variety of salads, cold cuts such as salami and prosciutto, cheeses such as shaved Padano, blue and cheddar, a variety of breads, pastas and vegetables. The hot buffet had several pasta dishes, potatoes, and other hot sides. The meat here is obviously the main reason for coming however while the sides are just that, sides. If you can eat a lot of meat and enjoy that sort of thing, this place would be worth it for you as an individual. If you can't eat a lot and don't enjoy a wide variety of beef cuts and constant having to interact with servers then this place isn't for you. If you have to think about it for those that really can't eat much 50 dollars for the all you can eat "Rodizio" is a lot if you can't make it worth your while. Still, this place is also an experience and it's a nice treat and change from your everyday dining. The service and hospitality here seemed better than just good and the servers aren't leaving you wondering when they'll be back again. They are borderline incessant. With drinks, tax and tip expect to pay about 75 dollars a person on average. read more

Recently went here for a friend's birthday dinner. This restaurant is like similar to a high class all-you-can-eat sushi place, except with Brazilian meat, and instead of ice cream for dessert, you have grilled pineapple. But the one downside is that it's pretty pricey! The food was pretty good, but it was a lot of meat. The restaurant also had a salad bar and other various side dishes available for you to choose from, but really, who goes to this place for salad? It's all about the grilled meats! There are about 6 or 7 different kinds of meats to try and boy, are they ever delicious. I've heard there are dancers at the downtown location during the weekend but there weren't any at the Vaughan location when I went. However they did have 2 very talented musicians playing that night. They were playing all of the classic love songs on guitar (which my friends and I sang along to). The musicians also added their own latin flair to the songs they played - I thought this really suited the environment. Although I enjoyed the food at Copacabana, I don't think I would go back because it was expensive and in order to get your money's worth, you gotta eat a lot. That being said, I do think that it should be experienced at least once. read more

They don't give it away. Get over it. I go with 18 1/2 linear feet and 250# of 3 sons every time we get an excuse and we get our money's worth. Only argument is, who's gonna drive home? Smokin' hot meat, and the food is great too. Wink. I just hope they survive the plague. Better than the Cha... place in Sao Paulo. read more

bad experience, it says all you can eat but you won't be offered any meat for 45minute during dinner hours, i had to wait 30min for a drink as well. I hated the entire experience. Please don't go here. read more

The food was very delicious, but the service was slow and every time I had to wait more than 8 minutes for someone to came and give us food.

I dare to call this experience 'holy war'; the servers bringing the steaks look like angels descended from the sky, even after the tag was placed to Nao. Server was super friendly and detailed even during the Friday dinner rush. I just wish there was better way to appreciate for their hard work and smile! read more

When you come here, you're paying for the variety. The service was good and all wait staff were friendly. However, I feel the waiters that bring the meat all come at once to load your small plate the first time and then don't come back as frequently or they don't bring the same variety as before (they kept coming back with sirloin and pineapple - the cheaper cuts). I was a guest so didn't pay myself, but I don't feel compelled to come back with my family. read more

This rating is for vegetarians or those who won't be eating the meat. The selection is very scarce if you're not going to eat the meat. They have a number of shredded salads, few veggies and some fruit and a selection of cheeses. They also had some sweet potato fries and a cheese penne pasta. Free water. No drinks included, not even soda and no dessert. It was all cold side dishes aside from ONE cheese pasta dish. You're basically paying two times what you would pay at another restaurant that offers more filling hot options and you will likely walk away feeling like you had appetizers. Better off going to Mandarin!!! At least they include drinks and desserts. Also, the show is 10-15 mins and no capoeira. The women dancing is absolutely spectacular tho. I'll give them that. They strictly adhere to the 2hr rule and dont care if you were late for your reservation, even if you're spending over $600 with them. Even if youre invited for a special celebration with family and friends, don't come here. You'll be pissed when you see your bill and they automatically add an 18% tip and you feel like you only had appetizers. It's super cheap of them to not even offer juice and sodas n ice cream. Skip this place if you won't be eating the meat. read more

Great place to go if you're looking for something different. We didn't go on a weekend but I heard the entertainment is great. We went for my moms birthday and she ate free! The food is amazing. Everything was so good. First you go up and get starters. Theres a wide variety of Salads and pastas to choose from. As you're eating those, servers come around with meat. All different kinds of meats. Which were all so good. If you really liked one you can ask them to keep bring you that one or ask for others. They slice the meat for you and you take as much as you want. As we were eating they came around with fried pieces of banana!! Those were to die for. Definitely look out for those when you go. Near the end they came around with fried pineapple, which was amazing too. Everything was so good. I really want to go back and check out the entertainment on the weekend. read more

Was there on Saturday. Sat there for an hour and only one guy came around with the skewered meat. I had to tell him the second time he came around that this is definitely not worth 70 bucks I'm about to pay. Needless to say I didn't get to try any of the seafood, lamb, or essentially anything except the sirloin cause that's the only one who came around. I told our waitress as we were sitting at a table of 10 and I'm like my pod is facing up saying I would like food but no one comes this way. She said oh I thought you guys were finished. No, they were but I arrived late so I essentially paid $70 for a salad and four pieces of meat and two slices of pineapple. So I left hungry due to timing restrictions from the group I was with. Keep in mind I was there for 1.5 hours and that's all the meat that I was given. Nice dance show tho. read more

I visited this location for my birthday dinner on a Saturday and had a fairly decent dining experience. Upon first impression from the outside I was completely thrown off. The exterior is kit up in neon blue lights with little to no direction as to where the front door is. After making an awkward nightclub like entrance, we were quickly seated with your reservations (Saturday ressos - heck ya!). Drinks were prompt and the salad bar was fully loaded. I didn't think they were lacking anything and the food laid out was fresh. I especially liked the mashed potatoes and garlic cheese bread. My fave cut of meat was the ribeye followed closely behind by the sirloin. Delish! I've had a better picana (spelling?) Steak elsewhere in Richmond Hill. I also felt their cinnamon pineapple could've used some cinnamon coating. The cornbread muffin was wicked good. I wish the shrimp came by more often; seemed like they went to every table but ours. When they visited ours a measly piece was left leaving me wanting many, many more. The atmosphere is loud and not the best place if you like to have conversations. I may sound like I didn't enjoy myself and although I really did, the nightclub feel didn't leave me during the entire experience. The belly dancing was cool tho! Would I go back? Yeah, probably... But it wouldn't be my first suggestion for a night out. Still giving a four star because the food was great. They do make a mean Manhattan though. read more

Food was excellent, but hostess service could be better. We arrived for our 7:30PM reservation at about 7:38PM. Upon arrival, after advising we had booked a reservation, with a special note that it was for a Birthday celebration, they took zero acknowledgement of that, and greeted with "Your delay will be taken into factor of your 2 hour seating limit". NOTE -- last time I made reservations to have dinner here, they made us wait for over 40 minutes to be seated. I had no issue with losing a bit of our dining time based on our arrival time, but really? It was a Friday and the restaurant is busy, I can acknowledge that, but I guess that's their type of customer service as if they don't value whether you'll be a returning customer or not. The meat was brought to our table very quickly, and our server checked on us frequently. Food was very fresh, and tons of options at the salad bar. What I would've appreciated was to be offered the same shrimp and braised beef that the table next to us was offered. We ended up getting it but we had to special request for it. (They didn't provide a menu showing what was offered on weekends, I've seen it at the Eglinton location before.) Noticed a bartender/manager come to the table to have shots with them, so maybe they were priority clients since they were a friend. ‍ Overall an average experience, nothing special, definitely will not be returning for a special occasion next time. read more

We had a work meeting so we made a reservation for early dinner for at least 25 of us at this location. First impression was great as we entered we were greeted and taken to our tables. Then came our server who explained on how it all works and took our drinks order. Its all a buffet style spot with grilled meat coming to your table. They had plenty of choices on the cheese and salad bar. Then came the sides bar which had all sorts of things like various dips, three types of rices, potatoes and it went on. The thing I liked was as soon as the first meat server came and found out; me and one other co-worker could only eat salmon, he made a note so we get more of that salmon stops at our table. The salmon was grilled to perfection. The restaurant had ample space and was equipped with comfortable seating. The also had plenty of parking. Overall, very good experience. read more

I'm surprised at some of the other reviews here. The service has always been great anytime I've gone here. At times it's been jam packed, and at times it's been almost empty. The meat is incredible. So delicious. Usually so many servers come by it's hard for me to keep up with all the meat choices. Drinks are good - love the blue abacaxi. Dancers are fun if you go on a weekend. The salad bar and other food from the buffet are also very delicious. Not a cheap place. Just over $50 a person. But this has become one of my favourite restaurants. read more

1 star for service 4 stars for food (the little we got to try) We had a dinner for 11 on July 22 at 7:30 PM and it was arguably some of the worst service I have received at a restaurant. While our waitress Lenor (I believe that is her name) was great, the servers circling with the meats where neglectful, rude, and stingy. We had to ask, repeatedly, for meats, and when they arrived only half the table would receive some because they had to go back and cook more. It was hectic, confusing, and frustrating. We were not told what cut was what, and when we asked, we were ignored - and not because they couldn't hear us, they just didn't care to answer. At one point we had asked multiple, like 6+ in my recollection, servers for pineapple and only received it (30 minutes later) because I physically hunted down the manager and asked him for some. We also did not receive any lamb or salmon, and were only offered corn bread once. Additionally, there was a clear show of favoritism being exhibited by servers. The second level of the restaurant received extra attention and food, even though their party size was similar to ours. It was apparent the servers had some type of relationship with them that ensured they received all the food types, and constantly. Having come here after having heard such wonderful things, I am so disappointed in my experience and I will be sharing this with friends and family. This is not the type of service I expected and I genuinely regret coming to this establishment. read more

Fresh meat for the meat eaters. I liked one in particular because it tasted like a mcdonalds quarter pounder with cheese. I was apprehensive about coming here due to the bad reviews. But I decided to take my chances, and I'm so glad I did. Both the food and service were absolutely phenomenal! The staff was super attentive - everyone from the floor managers, our server, to the carvers. We were bombarded with food the moment we sat down (loved that lol), and all the appetizers we ordered through our server arrived really quickly. We were asked multiple times if there was anything we wanted to try that hadn't come around yet. Some standout dishes were the Brussels sprouts, cassava fries, fried pita with hummus, mac 'n cheese, cornbread, pao de queijo (cheese bread), picanha, prime rib, garlic shrimp, and beef ribs. Honestly, ALL the food we had was freaking amazing. The meats were all cooked perfectly! I'm writing this review the day after, and I'm still in a food coma, but I would still go back in a heartbeat. read more

Initially when we got here there was little meat roaming around. We waited for a while because we were only interested in chicken, lamb and shrimps. Beef was frequent but for people who don't eat it, be prepared to wait 30 mins as the chicken and lamb take longer to cook. After requesting chicken and lamb and expressing our disappointment in lack of any, our waitress and servers made up for it by bringing us a variety of chicken and lamb once it was ready. The chicken and lamb were very good. I understand that sometimes things may not start off perfectly but the staff did a very good job of ensuring we enjoyed our meal going forward. read more

Love going here for steak. My favourite is their house signature sirloin steak. Second favourite is Parmesan filet mignon. Also love their grilled pineapple - make sure you save room for that! I also find their salad and pasta bar to be really great so even if you're a vegetarian or not in the mood to eat so much red meat this place has enough variety to cater to all tastes. I was very pleased with their service. Waiters always ask if you've gotten everything you've wanted and if there's a particular meat you're waiting on or want and they'll bring it over to you. On weekends, belly dancers perform at 6:30pm and 8:30pm. Tip: if you want faster service, come early (eg 5pm) when it's less busy. read more

The food was great. Some of the best I've had in a long while. They offer 90 minutes which is perfectly fine, otherwise I'd likely stay for days. The only drawback was, after about 60 minutes, the servers rarely stopped at our table. We needed to actually call them down to receive food and most of them blew by us without any acknowledgement. For the price I would expect full service for the entire 90 minutes. I would likely return but will try Touro first. read more

Came here for my brother's birthday and it was great! Tip for everyone, you unfortunately have to go on the day of your birthday - not 24 hours ahead, not 24 hours later because they would not honour my brother's birthday (despite the fact that it was literally hours later). The variety of meats were great (similar to the DT Copa) but for some reason, the servers kept skipping our table until we started at them intently - and YES, we had our "let them eat meat" sign on. One waitress was actually particularly nice and she took the time and effort to get whatever we wanted, including those fried banana dessert bites! Overall, I would visit this place again. I just really wished they honoured that birthday thing because literally, it was a day away and they really easily could devise a system where people can't cheat it. read more

awesome, delicious, friendly, delicious (did i already say that). my favorite restaurant on the planet.

I always love copacabana but this one is definitley a step down from the Niagara and Yonge locations Service is as bad as the jam packed Niagara location on a weekend when your stuck on the patio. We did have one meat guy who was attentive but the rest including our waitress were horrible, they are lucky I was not paying as I would have gave the meat guy cash in hand and left zero tip for anyone else All in all though it is still copacabana in a much more friendly location so I am sure I will still end up here a couple times a year. Pondered a 2.5 review because I definitely have experienced better but it was not bad enough that I will never go back so I will leave it a 3/5. read more

We went on Friday evening to have dinner for a birthday. This was my second time going during COVID and for those that haven't been in a while there are a few changes from what you're used to. Firstly, there is no more Buffett for apps, salads and sides. They have these carts that waiters push around to bring out these items. Even though buffets have now opened, I was surprised they Buffett was still closed. Normally I wouldn't mind this, but this time when we got seated, we didn't have a chance to get any salad, apps or sides and they started bringing around the meats. Then the salad came and we were just having salad and steak. After asking a few times the brought the sides cart. I noticed this time, there were no more cheeses, olives, dried meats or different breads. It didn't hugely impact our experience but it was a change from the experience you're used to. I personally like to start off my meal with some wine and apps. The selection of steaks were all great and what you were used to- I'm glad this part of the experience wasn't changed too much. They now offer dessert as a part of the meal but it was really nothing impressive. Cookies, brownies, icecream, and orange flavoured flaan. All tased store bought, again nothing impressive. Pricing is $65 per person plus an %18 tip already included on the bill. This was totally fine with us because everything is served right at the table and the servers were all great. With tax, tip and drink you're looking at likely $100-$120 a person. Aside from a few hiccups in the order the food came out, we all enjoyed the experience. Would recommend if you're ok with the changes! read more

Our waitress was amazing, took my son here for a special occasion. First time being here since covid. Food was amazing, I highly recommend for the food. The service was ok, staff was ok but the manager was very nice

Ive been to Copacabana in Niagara falls as well as toronto, this location is in no way the best of the three locations but it it is till a great buffet as well as steakhouse. The flavours of all of food is mouth watering. Food such as Bacon wrapped fillet minion are and option as well as roasted pinapple with cinnamon and sugar. The atmosphere of the restaurant is great with classic Brazilian dancers. The food option is slightly different depending on what day of the week you attend the restaurant. Food such as shrimp and lamb chops are only available won the weekend yet thing like top sirloin and prime rib with cheese can be served any day of the week. The price of food is decent for a steakhouse. For everything that the restaurant offers its about 50$ on the weekend or 45$ on the weekday. The small buffet not including the meat is also a great choice but for the price its not worth it. Things like olives and pickles, cheese and stuff are an option. read more
