Horrible office people but amazing technician. We had to cancel our service. I have been constantly emailing and leaving messages for sales guy Cale, just to get quote and start service. At the end of whole ordeal that started june 6th, they came out to do service june 27th. Technician Usman was great- knowledgeable and friendly. However July 1st we get charged 277 for June service of 2 DAYS! AND ANOTHER 277 FOR JULY-total of 554. Are you kidding me. read more

I have been a Cooper customer for over 20 years with their Home Traditional quarterly service. Their "wow" service and expertise is well known in NJ and Richard Cooper's leadership in the pest control field has been recognized for years. My current tech, Rudy, is always punctual, courteous and knowledgeable. Most pest problems (e.g. infrequent mice in basement or insects inside home) have been routine and well-controlled thanks to Cooper's good preventative maintenance. Over the years an occasional more urgent matter (e.g. attic wasp nest) was handled promptly including having a manager come out quickly. I strongly recommend Cooper. read more

The most dishonest firm I have ever dealt with!! We have had them do work for us two years in a row. One day last week, their guy shows up to do our "annual service". We never signed up for annual service and told them that when they called. A day later they called to say we have been rescheduled for Friday. My wife called and asked that a supervisor call her on her cell #. He called our home #, not the cell, she returned his call and left him a message making it very clear that we had not decided on service and to not send someone. Here's the kicker, today my wife gets an email that her credit card had been declined!!!! They had attempted to run a charge on a card that they had retained from last year; which we didn't know. if there is an option to give no stars, this company should get it. we took the service of cooper pest control for mice. they came inspected and found no cracks from where the mice would enter our house. so they placed those black bait boxes. as per contract, inspections were every quarter, which happened once and never. mice is happily enjoying their space in our basement, and laundry. nothing much has changed to control these rodents out of our house. I am really frustrated with their service. please stay away of this company. read more

I don't know why this company has such high ratings. I would give them a zero if I could. I called, explained our situation and was told a tech would come out. We were told that he would inspect our house and if he couldn't do anything, he would tell us what we needed to do and point us in the right direction. He came out, inspected and I gave him a check. He said if we had any problems, to call and he would come back. Well, our problem was not fixed, I called, and they said they would send him again, AT NO CHARGE. By the time he came again my check still was not cashed and the tech that came out said that the last time he was here he forgot to treat an area, which is why we might still have problems. He treated it at the second visit, told me he would locate my check, (that may be lost in his truck) and that he would come back out in a week. As soon as he left I received a call that they had to bill us at half price, after being told it was at no cost to us. FINE! Well needless to say, my check has never been cashed, the tech never came back and I have now received 2 invoices that are incorrect as we were charged FULL PRICE after being told the second visit was at half price. I reached out to the guy that scheduled us and he said he would look into it. As of today, my check has never been cashed, I have been over charged for my second visit, I never heard back from the guy that was 'looking into it' and we still have pest problems. This is not my first review and likely will not be my last. I am a corporate concierge for the Princeton area and often use Cooper for my clients. Each and every time the service is satisfactory. No complaints there. My complaint has always been their customer support. As I am on the road most of the day, I need drive time to arrive at appointments. Each and every time I make an appointment I ask them to update their files to reflect that their tech must phone me prior to arrival. I truly need an ETA at some point thru out the day in order to schedule other appointments. A five hour window just won't work for me. I called this morning to once again confirm my situation. I was assured by Sally that either she or the technician would reach out to me at some point during the day with an ETA. Today for possibly the fourth or fifth time? I decided to cut them off at the pass. I went to the clients home without hearing from the tech at all. As I suspected the technician just showed and no phone call was ever received. It is sad that something so simple continues to be overlooked. My time is as valuable as any technicians. I simply cannot understand the disconnect? read more

Their technician, Joel, was very nice, explained the entire process thoroughly and gave us advice for the future to prevent other issues. Fast, friendly service. When no other company would take care of our yellow jacket problem on the 3rd floor between the roof and stucco they did. They showed up on time and since the first treatment didn't work they came out, free of charge, the next week and sprayed again. For the price of the service and the 90 day guarantee they were worth it. I would highly recommend them for service as they deal with all different types of pests. read more

They were helpful in the beginning but when I wasn't able to send a picture because I killed the bug the guy wouldn't give me an appointment. Early this year, my entire neighborhood suffered a strong invasion of odorous house ants. We began working with Cooper Pest Control in March and have gotten good results. They've been out twice since at our request to follow up (these tiny ants are challenging to deal with). Very well-trained, safe, courteous, and thorough folks. Highly recommend them. I read all the reviews below. It seems one person has attempted to "poison" the ratings on here. He even submitted two separate reviews complaining specifically about odorous house ants, which I know first-hand Cooper can handle gracefully (and I also know from my entire life experience that ridding a house of any kind of ant is never exactly easy or instant--it takes patience and follow-through). Another irate person from Brooklyn appears to have the wrong company altogether--I don't think they would go all the way there to treat a house. I had an issue with carpenter bees. The technician showed up on time (called to confirm 20 min before) and asked me to show him any key areas he had not already identified ( got them all ) . After we walked around one more time to double check for any other areas. He explained what was done, what to expect (wait a week) and to call back if they are not gone. We bought a house last year that had multiple pest problems. We had mice in basement, spiders, bees nests, ants, etc. Cooper convinced us to do their quarterly charge of $113 stating they would be there monthly and clean up the problem. Here we are almost a year later and we got a few mice traps out of the deal. We've been charged a total of $568.85!! For this price I'd expect the red carpet given that everything done so far I could have bought at Home Depot for half the price. They have fought with us to cancel, have provided little to no service and charged an outrageous price. I do NOT recommend signing up with them as cancelling their services and/or getting them to your house after you sign in blood is next to impossible. GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK YOU CROOKS! read more

They tout "WOW" service but recently I waited at home through the 8am to 1pm window and the guy did not show. It was a Saturday so naturally their office was closed and could not contact anyone. Their website was also down so could not contact anyone via email. When I was eventually able to reach someone there was no explanation, concern or apology. Hopefully the guy will show this time. I wrote to the president (email address on the web site) as he is the one touting "WOW" service, but the silence has been deafening. WOW service looks great on mission statements and web sites, but you have to deliver for it to be meaningful. These guys do NOT deliver WOW service. When I moved into my new and first home I had an unknown to me hornet problem. With 2 babies under 2 I was concerned for their safety. After calling orkin and being thoroughly disappointed at the lack of results and professionalism I tried cooper and was wowed by their customer service. James and another fellow came to my house. Thoroughly inspected my house. Confirmed the source of hornets and had one of their bee crew come the next day to take care of the problem. I was impressed enough to sign up for a yearly full pest plan and I haven't seen bug outside of a fruit fly since moving in. I would highly recommend Cooper Pest. They are attentive and proactive on checking in with the customer and most importantly to my wife and I don't use harmful pesticides. read more

I love there technicians but the customer service is just plain awful. It takes forever to get an agent on the phone and when you do half the time they yes you to death without actually checking the account. I also left a message in there general mailbox when I couldn't get an agent the first time and the girl called me almost two hours later and by then I already called back and got someone. Then 4 days later an agent called and said you left a message on Friday. Really??? That was 4 days ago and so this is the second person calling me back after one agent already called and days later. I also asked for the same technician I had for my first spray and the agent said yes you always will get the same one and guess what I did not. The guy that came was great and friendly so no complaints and they do a great job and I will continue to use them but customer service is just not with it. read more

We are very disappointed with this service. Cooper charged us $430 for one visit during carpenter bee season full well knowing that bee season was almost over. They made us sign a contract through September even though the carpenter bees die off by June, which we found out after the fact. This is an example of a company taking advantage of a customer's lack of knowledge on something that should be their expertise and we will never use them again and we highly recommend not using them. read more

Cooper Pest in East Brunswick has been extremely helpful in making sure our home remains pest free. Heather is the absolute best tech in East Brunswick and does everything she can to make sure we have peace of mind and are bug-free. I spoke to Louise on the phone when scheduling appointments and asking questions about my service, and she was very patient and helpful. I did have one tech come out that I was not totally satisfied with and Cooper sent Heather back out for free to spray my home. She was very thorough and informative, especially when I was worried about my pets and if spraying the home would affect them (which it doesn't!). He wanted to take my information down and then tell me the plans he has to offer. He talked over me. I had to ask for permission to speak. He then asked me what am I looking to spend? After that I knew the conversation was over. I found that conversation disgusting, below customer service standard. He barely gave me an opportunity to tell him my findings and wanted to nickel and dime me and talk about money and contracts. Do you think I cared what it would cost to rid me of rodents!? They don't return your calls if you just want a single treatment. I received a quote online at thumbtack.com and was instructed by a manager or whomever he was to call the office to schedule. I called the office and was told they can take my number and have someone call me back to give me a quote. I explained I received a quote already he then said well they will call you to discuss what plan I wanted. I explained I only wanted a single treatment he then said again someone will get back to you. No one ever did. read more

I used Cooper for several years and I was happy. Then my house burnt down and I moved into a rented accommodation. I called Cooper for a stink bug treatment at the rental which they assumed also included an annual treatment service. I realized the mistake when then contacted me to schedule the winter treatment. No treatment was provided. But they keep insisting on billing me. I received ridiculous and lengthy emails. For them, all that mattered was being right. It does not occur to them that they may have misunderstood - I have no authority to sign up for their service at my rental. Today they charged me another $190. For nothing. Nothing at all. In spite of the fact that I cancelled several times already. I will never deal with them or recommend them again. It is shame as their work was fine. But what does that matter when you cannot resolve issues when things happen. Life happens and I want to work with companies that understand this. Not these jerks. read more

A company who stands by their commitments. We have been pleased with their termite inspection work - and warranty - for 3 years. With the impending sale of our home, Cooper offered to conduct the termite inspection and transfer the warranty to the new owner, should they wish it. The Cooper inspector gave us a clean bill of health. Then, 2 days later, the buyer's home inspector (who is also a licensed termite inspector) discovered a recent, though inactive, tube under a set of steps in the garage. When Cooper's guy reinspected, he was quick to acknowledged that he had missed it - he simply overlooked the steps and didn't look underneath them. Hey, mistakes happen. What goes the furthest in this day and age is to stand up and admit it. Further, Cooper stood by him, which I highly respect. He is a long-time employee with an exemplary record. They quickly offered to treat the immediate area, and then along the garage walls near - the appropriate response. Our buyer was understandably a bit gun-shy now, and insisted on a whole house treatment. After 5 years in the house, with only one minor indication (and clearly the buggers didn't find what they were looking for and moved on), this was completely unnecessary, but what were we to do. Coopers at first suggested they needed to do their own followup inspection, and then dispensed with that and instead simply agreed to do the work. At no cost to us (or to the buyer). That is standing up. For their warranty. For their technician. For their work. For their reputation. Count me a very pleased customer! read more

I contacted Cooper Pest and was told because I have a log cabin they could not quarantee their work. Okay I get that alot. However here is how my service went. I was sent a contract which I never signed because the time was not good. The serviceman showed up anyway, woke my husband out of bed. The serviceman knocked for 10 minutes than after my spouse woke up and answered the door he was told that the guy was going to go get his ladder. My spouse went to the bathroom and right after he was done the guy was knocking on the door wanting payment. He said he was done. He never even did the sides of the house or the second floor deck which is only accessible through the house. He sprayed my front deck and was done. When I called to complain I was told someone would get back to me. The person who called my back was a regional manager who said we had to wait a couple days to see how the treatment reacted. He listened to nothing I had to say. When I attempted to call him back after the suggested wait time suddenly he is not available to answer my calls despite his secretary telling me he is in his office and now no return call. So about $400.00 later, 10 minutes of work and no results we are left with the same problem. I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

I hired this company to spray for carpenter bees and mosquitoes. This Spring I had extensive landscaping done with expensive bushes installed. When I started noticing damage I called the company and they did not come to inspect the damage. Two 7 foot tall viburnums developed corkscrew branches and the buds of the flowers assumed a strange shape. The viburnums were dug out because they were so damaged. After that I noticed burn marks on some shrubs and some others had new growth dying off. I called the company and they eventually sent a representative over. Today he called me to tell me that they would not bear any responsibility. Tried to blame it all on a hot summer but the irrigation goes off each night. These plants were from a very reputable nursery, whose opinion was that Coopers' spray had infused salts onto the plants and damaged them. Another spraying company came over and told me that Coopers had used so many chemicals that they could hardly keep track of what was used. I have since told Coopers not to return. I agree with "Christina G." These people are crooks. read more
