Fish and Chips
Carol R.

This used to be the Blue Moon Diner. It was one of my favorite eateries. Hubby and I went for lunch today. The place was practically empty. It looks the same, but I would say it is much brighter and seems spotless now. The menu is similar. The service is still congenial and friendly. We had two favorites: Grouper Francese and Our Signature Crispy Fish and Chips. The grouper was good and lemony, as always. They changed the breading on the crispy fish; it was not the signature flaxy, pankoish style. It was more of a flour batter. Although it was decent, I was not a fan. Bring back the crispy crust. The portions are generous and the prices are reasonable. Lunch for two including tax and tip was $36. A bargain during these post-COVID eating out times. I will be back (soon) to try other things on the menu.

Tuna melt with fries

I really enjoy going to diners because of the variety of food you can choose from. It was my first time here and it didn't disappoint. It was very clean and our server was great. She even sat and talked with us for awhile since it was a rainy day and there weren't very many people there. I ordered the tuna melt even though we were told it wasn't made with albacore tuna which is what I usually prefer. I'm glad I ordered it because it was very good. It came on rye bread and with a side of fries and the fries were delicious. It also came with coleslaw on the side. My friend had a Cuban sandwich that she didn't enjoy too much. It wasn't pressed like a Cuban sandwich is supposed to be and they had forgotten to put pickles on the sandwich. She really enjoyed the fries/slaw that came with it though. I'd definitely go back there but it's no place I'd go out of my way to go to if that makes sense.

I usually love diners because they are holes in the wall but this place was just ok. There was a weird smell in the air like old or mildewy. I was expecting diner ambience but it was a bit more upscale and seemed remolded. Our server although she wanted to be attentive, she asked like right away if we knew what we wanted and after we told her to give us a few moments she waited for 2 minutes came back and asked again and at that point we still were not ready, she came back and asked again. It felt overwhelming. The food was okay. The best thing were my husband's fries. The omelette was okay same with the hash browns as well. Again it was not very flavorful so I do not know if I will come back again.

We were looking for someplace new for breakfast and decided to try out Cooper Diner. We are glad we did. First, the restaurant is super clean & the staff we encountered were very friendly. Our server kept my coffee hot and was very personable. Cooper Diner is under new ownership and the restaurant definitely got an overhaul. I am hoping as time goes they will add some wall decor to make the restaurant look a little more finished. For the food. I had a NEO - Nova Lox & Onion scramble. It was very good and packed with large pieces of nova. I opted for a bagel - which was a mistake, as it reminded me of a lender's bagel. I was a little disappointed that there was a 1.95 up charge for it. Next time I will opt for toast, a biscuit or English muffin. The hash browns are not the Patty kind and were nice and crisp. My coffee was also very good. My husband had a 3 cheese omelette which he was very happy with and also loved the hash browns. He had a biscuit and said it was very good. They have a breakfast special menu for Monday - Friday. We will definitely head back.

My corned beef omelette was okay, The potatoes were minimal. The wheat slices were very thin and so small.

The food was ok, nothing great. The wheat toast was small and pathetic. The potatoes were minimal. Mercy is her great usual self with great customer service.

Lunch special 10 oz cheese burger with home fries, nothing to write home about to mom.

This my first visit, and last visit, I remember when it was the Blue Moon. Today for lunch wife and I went, we both ordered the 10oz cheese burger, she ordered her's burn it, and I ordered Medium, when I cut it open it was well done, and the asked for lettuce, and it wasn't Iceberg and what they put was little piece's looked like Romaine not my choice for burger. I asked instead of fries home fries fried, which was good and crisp, burger had no taste. The wife both agreed her burger was just burger, and tasteless, she had French fries I tried them, they were good and delicious.

There was a nice little wait on a Saturday morning but it went by pretty quick because of how fast everyone was working and cleaning off tables! It is rather small in here so if you get uncomfortable being close to other parties, this is not the place to go during peak hours! I ordered a basic egg plate and it came with eggs, that I ordered scrambled, toast and sausage patties. The eggs were cooked perfectly and there was a nice amount of them! The sausage was very tasty and the toast was crisped to a perfect crunch for me! The prices here are very reasonable as well, with my plate being about ten dollars, if I remember correctly. The service here was crazy fast and our waitress was flying through tables left and right! My drink never made it past half the glass before she was back refilling it!

The pastrami was dry and I asked for well done fries that were barely cooked and nowhere near crispy. The waitress was too busy chatting to get her attention so I just ate them. He was very attentive and checked on us often. Baoshi is an open wrap around bar that extends into the patio area. It filled up quickly as the night went on. We did have an issue when we picked up our food. The girl behind the counter refused to give us our order without an order number claiming that it's against policy. Strange because not even 15 mins earlier, we were able to pick up our fries from a different staff member using just my name. For this encounter, I had left my phone at the bar with my friend. The staff member argued with me for a few minutes until I went back to the bar, got my phone and gave her the order number. The whole thing was very unnecessary. Other than that, Chris's Margaritas hit the spot and the DJ kept us dancing.

This particular event was not held on the actual lunar new year day, which was great for me because I wasn't able to attend prior. As normal, they had their normal food operations and bar operations. They just added an additional DJ/dragon show event that was very entertaining. I ordered my meals through their QR app and then we just go pick it up at the counter when it's ready. Pretty modern. They have a lot of different Asian booths to try out including dim sum, Ramen, etc.

We waited about 10 mins to be seated. Priscilla took good care of us. She was ready with the recommendations. We ordered the chicken and red chili chilaquiles, gravy and biscuits and the supreme omelet. This was exactly what we needed. Fresh, yummy and well portioned, we had our fill. My margarita was made perfectly and went well with my chilaquiles. Service was fast! We waited maybe 15 mins for our food. The only downside to this restaurant in my opinion, are the coed bathrooms. Not a big fan of these. Since there were only two for the entire restaurant, cleaning periodically is recommended. Other than that, food was delicious!

The music playing in the background is Sing a long, good! Always on my list of places to eat!

As the place was empty and two women working were talking at the bar I walked in and went to sit. One of the women asked if I was with the group and then told me I needed to wait to be seated. It was awkward. It was a bit rude. Most times it's not what you say, but how you say it. Maybe it's just me, but the waitress immediately informed me that three items weren't available, including biscuits and cornbread of some sort. As a first-timer, it was weird. Fortunately, everything got better from there. My first meal, regardless of time, needs to be breakfast-y. As I perused the weekday brunch menu via QR code (what if you don't have a phone?) I ordered a coffee and water. The water came quickly, but the coffee took its time. I ordered the Wafflette (don't you want to try things you can't get other places?) It came as pictured and was good. The syrup was quite watery and left a lot to be desired, but I really didn't need it. The star of this dish is the bacon. I could have bathed in this bacon. It was thick and chewy, such a nice compliment. I don't know if there are bar stools available and whether they set up center aisle seating when it's more crowded, but the restaurant appeared clean and well-kept. There were no rounds available when I went, so I don't know how they accommodate groups of 10+, I sat along the banquette that could accommodate two. I am very interested in returning to try the ox tails, which are available in two (or was it three) dishes on the menu. I look forward to revising my review then.
