Interesting experience at Cooper Bluff a few Thursdays ago. My sister and I wanted to try a new spot with live music on the water and I had remembered seeing this place on Instagram one time so we decided to give it a shot. When we got to the road leading to the bar, a guy dressed in a tank top and shorts told us that we couldn't come down the road and that we had to park in the lot behind us and a golf cart would come pick us up. To be honest, it seemed very off, why tell us at that point when we would need to back up, make a u-turn and head in the opposite direction towards the stand alone lot? Why not have the guy standing by the lot telling people to pull in there? It was so strange and we honestly were not sure if he was a random guy or if he actually worked for Cooper Bluff. We turned around, parked in the lot and decided to walk on our own to the bar, which was quite a walk. Once we turned the corner and could see the bar, we noticed it had its own parking lot and there were a ton of cars in the lot, with plenty of room for more. It was bizarre. We got to the bar and noticed there was a food stand, food truck type situation, live music, seating and a beautiful view of the water. We didn't know what to expect when we came here. I needed to use the restroom once we arrived so I asked the bartender where it was and she pointed her finger. I said this way? She pointed again, no words. Okay. So I walked in the direction of her point and couldn't find anything. Finally I asked someone else and was told there was a mobile bathroom in the parking lot. I am not sure what the bartender was thinking by pointing and not saying, Hey there's a mobile trailer bathroom in the parking lot but I'll get back to her in a moment. The trailer bathrooms were nice, but I was shocked that was the bathroom for this place. All good. Went back to the bar, which was an adorable beach hut type thing. My sister ordered a frozen margarita and I asked for water. The moment I asked for water, the same bartender who pointed to the bathrooms gave me an eye roll and then pointed to the water pitcher that I stupidly missed upon walking up to the bar. Stupid me. The water cups they offered were tiny, I mean, really small but I already had the impression I was irritating the bartender by god forbid drinking water so I didn't dare ask for a bigger cup. She charged my sister $26 for the margarita. I was floored. I mean, floored. It was a plastic cup slushy margarita at a place with a trailer as a bathroom. It bothered me the entire time and I wasn't even the one drinking it or paying for it. We weren't in Montauk or NYC. Just wild to me. Anyways, the live music was good, we took a seat at a table with two other women. I loved that there were like community tables so it gave you an opportunity to sit and meet other people. The crowd was mixed, people in their 20s and people in their 70s, I loved that. Overall, it was a really cool way to spend an evening, watching the sun set, overlooking the water, listening to live music. I just thought the bartender overcharged my sister and was rude. If she didn't overcharge and that's what margaritas cost here, holy smokes. When we left we took the golf cart back, it was cool and the dude riding it was very nice. read more

I came here for the very first time on Friday with my friends, and I cannot believe that I had not known about this place before. It's adorably picturesque, being right by the water. And FIRE PITS, like c'mon!!! It's the perfect set up! I had the rocket fuel frozen cocktail, and the spicy cucumber jalapeño cocktail, both were great. This outdoor place is beautiful, I'm mainly pointing out the ambience in this review because I've only had the drinks here but not the food. The whole atmosphere reminds me of Montauk, NY, very nautical theme and it's right on the water overlooking all the boats coming in, a gorgeous view in the evening! My only thing was when I came here, I decided to order a cocktail and my boyfriend ordered a spiked Slushie and I was soo blown away by how RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE the drinks were that came in a plastic cup..$40 later for 2 small cocktails...in my opinion that's just crazy!! The next time I come here, I'm bringing my own food and drinks! Again, I really enjoyed the ambiance with the fire pits, Adirondack chairs, couches, all very cozy atmosphere near the water. Is it Cooper Bluff - the venue or is it Blue Roots - the band that keeps us coming back? Three times still remains the charm. Great setting, service, and drinks. Pop up raw bar delighted with a dozen fresh oysters. Two sets from Blue Roots had us all swaying and singing along by nights end. A great find on LI that serves a consistently good time. Such a beautiful spot!!! It's a perfect place for a quick eat and drink. It's not a fancy place but moreso a chill place to just sit outside and have a drink/snack. We had come here after kayaking and I'm so glad we did. We had two drinks - the frozen lemonade and the mango mojito. Both pretty strong and $13 each. We had also gotten the fish tacos which were tasty for $15. Just the scenery overall made it worth the trip. Staff had even offered to drive us to our car since the parking lot is a little further away. We declined but it was very nice of them to offer. Overall a great experience!!! read more

Was really looking forward to trying this place out. Wanted to eat on waterfront and this place looked so fun and perfect. We went there tonight , as did a few other people, but unfortunately it was closed . It had rained in the morning and there was prediction of rain all day, but it did not actuality in the afternoon and evening, in fact the sun came out. It didn't say it was closed due to weather on their website. But once we got there, there was a mention on Instagram ! So guess we will have to wait for another opportunity. We have a special place in our hearts for Oyster Bay as it was our first home town when we moved to Long Island. Cooper Bluff has done something not seen in this iconic town- given us a place to have a cocktail on the water overlooking the bay and Center Island. On the night we went, there was live music and a food truck to fill your belly. The crowd seemed lively enough and the band was spirited for sure. Large picnic tables or a ton of bar tables outside will give you a great reason to stop by and enjoy the only place to sit waterside for a great many miles either east or west. read more

My family and I were there last night. We've been there before and while the food is not good, yesterday was a new low. They were out of the fish tacos so actually I was spared and was able to save my money. My family got two orders of over priced chicken nuggets and fries. Went to restaurant yesterday for birthday dinner and drinks at 6:30pm immediately got asked for ID at entrance when two of my younger sisters were underage. Gentleman was so rude we explained we were there for food and wouldn't have went there had I known they would give a hard time to even enter the space. Two of the other workers told their coworker to just let us in then the rude nasty unprofessional short Hispanic man with two silver teeth finally gave their ID's back and finally let us in because no one was there. ALSO the food truck does not reflect the same menu online which is not stated on the website and the one food item I wanted was not served because the workers said they only serve what is on the board. It was drizzling out as well and we were told we couldn't open the umbrella that they have there because of the wind as well. End of story would never go back. Pretentious staff and rude service. I came here with my parents this past memorial day weekend. My parents love this place and it has been a summer staple for them the last few years. We arrived pretty early in terms of "nightlife;" around 7/7:30pm. I understand that it was a holiday weekend, but the place was packed!! We stood on line for drinks for about 15 minutes and the line didn't move at all! While waiting we realized that even when we got our drinks, there would be nowhere for us to stand/sit. We ultimately decided to just leave before even getting drinks. I'll start with the positives: great spot on a nice summer evening to sit outside by fire pits & listen to live music overlooking the water. Large selection of mixed & frozen cocktails that were great & not too watered down. There's a golf cart available to take you from the parking lot or you can take the short walk over. The bad: We arrived around 7:30 to enjoy the sunset views & have dinner. We went to the food truck to order & were told they were sold out of the majority of the menu-including French fries. When we asked if they could substitute another side they said they were out of all the sides. I then asked if the price was the same even without the side & they said it was. Charging $40 for lobster roll is bad enough when all the nearby restaurants charge less, but even worse that they weren't even willing to substitute another side or give a discount. It was a shame because we were enjoying the night there but had to go elsewhere to eat I understand running out of fresh items like lobster but running out of French fries that early in the evening? Hoping they can plan ahead better in the future to accommodate all the hungry customers read more

My first time at the location and it won't be my last. It's adjacent to the marina. The drinks are frosty and well made. Try the IPA as well. It's not a restaurant although there is a small kitchen preparing finger foods next to it. The restrooms are located in trailers next door as well. There is a lot there as well but it's for the marina members only. The parking lot is located about 300 feet away next to the railroad museum. There are drivers that will transport you and your party from the lot in golf carts but it is a five minute walk if you don't want to wait. read more

A little tricky to find - we parked in the gravel lot and crossed our fingers that we wouldn't get a ticket without a permit but bartenders reassured us as long as we are patrons we are fine. Gorgeous views and charmingly decorates with white round picnic tables with benches, high tops for standing, and some long dining style tables that are great for groups or for community style dining. Lawn games all over the place. Food truck serving lobster rolls, burgers, chicken fingers and fries, sweet potato tots and a few other goodies. A table where a man is shucking fresh clams and oysters that can be purchased by the half shell. The bar gives off north shore tiki vibes. Frozen mudslides, pina coladas, and froze ready to be poured and served at all times, a number of drinks you can get straight out of a coconut or pineapple, a slew of summer favorite beers, and a full bar. Luckily the bartenders are great and can whip up virgin tropical drinks as top notch as their boozy tropical specialties. Devin made me an incredible booze-less pineapple & coconut beverage and it was exactly what I needed to fill the pina colada gap. She is awesome! My husband tried each of the frozen offerings and settled on a pina colada with a 151 floater. Service was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and quick. The place has been open 3ish weeks and there are already regulars, it seems, and it's obvious why. There is nothing like this place in oyster bay. And coming from Huntington where the only thing comparable in terms of being right on the water with a serious summer vibe is prime but at a wild price and, frankly, a bougie atmosphere and vibe. This place will be fire when it catches on. Ambience is casual. Drink prices are reasonable. Perfect summer spot! We will be back again soon! Just saw on their website that they're teaming up with oyster bay yoga for a morning class on July 21 - $35pp including the class and a meal. Day before my birthday. The fish sandwich was good, the fries were good, but there wasn't much flavor in the fish tacos and the passion fruit slush tasted overwhelmingly of the mint oil they put in it. I came on a perfect fall weather day, enjoyed a cinnamon apple cider sangria and relaxed while watching the boats on the water. The lobster roll was good but the fries were amazing - crispy. The live music was the icing on the cake. Nothing better than listening to Billy Joel and Elton John. It is a sit down service. They even sell freshly shucked raw oysters where some of the money went to charity, but that was separate from the service. I really don't know what the big deal is about this place. The view is obstructed, the drinks are expensive ($16 for a very small glass of wine). The food is expensive (actually no prices are listed ... you might want to ask for price before you order). The majority of the food offerings are fried! Once the band starts playing, you are unable to have a conversation . Don't waste your money! Go to the beach with a bottle of wine, some snacks and a few friends for a more enjoyable experience. Came here on a Friday summer evening after hearing only positive things. I must say, I'm in complete agreement. First, Cooper Bluff is WAY bigger than I thought. There's a ton of space, seating for small and large groups, and plenty of standing room with high tops or counter space. For a waterfront bar, the drink selection is vast - beers, wines, seltzers, hard alcohol, speciality cocktails - you name it. Prices are reasonable, too. I was expecting a big mark up from other places in Oyster Bay, but it's pretty comparable, especially for the locale. If you're hungry, the food truck is great. We got an order of the chicken fingers and fries (and went up and ordered another one) and the edible cookie dough. Both portions were on point and easy to share. Service was attentive, kind, and quick for both drinks and food. Can't say enough good things about this place. read more
