As a customer who has spent over $3,000 on singles in the last 8 months with Coolstuffinc, my loyalty has been met with poor quality control and unacceptable customer service. While I have noticed minor inconsistencies in grading in the past and chose not to make a fuss, my most recent order crossed a line where I felt the need to reach out. One of the cards ordered was advertised as "Near Mint," but I received a card with physical damage, including deep pen indentations When I contacted customer service about the misgraded item, the only resolution offered was a $2.00 credit or free shipping on my next order. This offer is completely inadequate--it neither compensates for the significant drop in value nor provides the expected remedy of a replacement card in correct condition as per their website's return policy. Coolstuffinc needs to honor its grading standards and provide fair resolutions to long-term customers who receive damaged goods. Buyers beware: "Near Mint" may mean "Damaged." Given their quality control and refusal to make it right, I strongly recommend finding another card store for your purchases. read more

I've ordered from CSI many times and spent thousands and thousands with them (I'm in the 15% off club if you're familiar). For over a year now, almost every single order (1 out of 10 at least) has been wrong in some way - damaged cards portrayed as NM, wrong cards sent, parts of the order missing and nothing said to me until I reached out to them, only for them to say "oh yup, we didn't have it so we didn't send it". A prior order I had placed they "lost" a valuable and desired card and so refunded me. They ended up getting said card in stock again months later, so I decided to give them one last chance. I ordered it. They sent me the wrong card. (Ordered Holo, received non-holo promo.) I will never purchase from them again. read more

There are many things wrong with this Company (1) Their card condition is worse than their competitors. (2) They cancel orders that are out of stock without letting you know. If you were expecting a playset, you may receive 3 without them telling you. (3) If you are dissatisfied with the cards, they try their best not to give you a refund. (4) They won't refund you for products lost. You have to claim a credit card claim in order to get your money back. (seems very illegal and in bad faith) (5) They have slow customer service (to top it off). If you were already frustrated by the above, they add to that by replying late. I've been a customer for many years and have spent a lot of money here, but I am no longer going to buy card from them. Weird store. They won't allow you to look at the singles you're buying until you've already paid for them. And the "near mint" cards they brought out for me looked way worse than my own cards I brought to them, which they (rightly) marked as "played". After I pointed it out they brought me some cards that looked better, thankfully. But this just seems like a bad way to run a card store. read more

I purchased a card from this company for $30. It arrived and was put in a sleeve and binder. Later I purchased a card from another vendor that had been fake. Deciding to test the cards of high monetary value under a black light, I checked to find the inking was much darker and lacking the phosphorescent quality used by WotC. I sent out an email asking me to send it back via standard shipping. Upon doing so, I also inquired why all my packages have been doubled or tripled up in the same envelope. My friend had the same issue with this. Once this happened, they investigated to find they had taken $10 worth of shipping this way, but could only authorize to put it on store credit in the form of a gift certificate, which I reluctantly accepted. 2 days later, I received an email about the card. I want to say, I mailed this in one of the priority mail USPS Priority mail stiff envelopes, in a penny sleeve with a top loader inside of a standard envelope. They told me the card was creased and I was not allowed a refund, conveniently after pricing has changed on this quite a bit. I was then told the rep, Chris, would go ask and examine the envelope and card for damage and photographs. He came back telling me it was in just an envelope, to which I called him out on, then he said the toploaders still allow cards to be damaged. I told him, if it's creased inside a toploader the envelope you saw should have been damaged too. I then pointed out how suspicious it was that I recently caught them skimming on shipping, had been sold a questionable card, returned it damaged for inspection, and that I was to now believe it was damaged in hard plastic with no visible damage to the envelope? When I asked about the card itself, he said he didn't personally see the damage, then stated the woman who handles returns took a day off, as well as that he could not find the card and "Maybe she's already mailed it back to you, I don't know." I told him this gets even better now as my possibly fake card that I purchased from them is now damaged and missing, he can't show the damage when questioned, and if it is found, I'm going to take the hit for this, despite it not being used upon me receiving it. He stated he was the only person and it wasn't a call center and that I had the wrong impression. I argued that it's irrelevant and I was told if I have nothing else to say, he'll talk to her but he needs to go because he has other customers to talk to. Do NOT buy from these people. This was not what I expected but what they DO they seem to DO well. Based on the website and description I was thinking this store was going to be a little bit like a Think Geek or Entertainment Earth store. That was an incorrect assumption. They have a very large space and are laser focused on CCG cards. You can visit the web site and the store is a large room with plenty of table to play but they merchandise (obviously being cards) are kept at the register and in back of the store. There was a selection of board games. I don't see this as a shopping destination at all but if you are going to play then this is the place to go. I just wonder how they can pay the rent if they are not actually selling anything. I wish them luck as the staff was friendly and super helpful. When I first saw this game place I got a little excited, as there was a new game place I could go to where I can find new games. But when I stepped inside there were only a few shelves full of games. Not really a great selection to look at. What was cool was that they had shelf containing games you can try out to see if you'd like to buy the game. But again there wasn't much selection. The majority of the room was filled with tables for what ever game is to be played on that assigned night. On a wall near the register was their calendar of game events for the month. So if you're into Pokemon, Yu-gi-oh, Magic, this is the place to go. But as a warning the evenings do get crowded with people at the tables. The whole time I was there I was not once approached for help as I was just aimlessly walking around. Really want to like this place but for now I'll stick to my old store for games and such. read more

I really don't want to sound like an unreasonable jerk, but I think this one star review is justified. I've ordered from this store several times in the past and can't quite seem to leave the place (or it's Winter Park location) without having some sort of head tilting "wtf?" moment. I think it's really great that they've got such a huge warehouse and all, and the clientele are pretty great too, but the absurdity of my last order really killed it for me. I placed an order early in the afternoon with intent to pick it up from their warehouse later that evening. The order wasn't too large in my opinion, but for the sake of transparency, it was roughly 60 unique cards and 30ish land. I called ahead to let them know I would be by later that evening (as I had before in the past, successfully). The gentleman on the phone confirmed it would be ready. Fast forward more than 6 hours later, I show up and it's not ready. Okay, not a huge deal, I'm generally a patient person. I told them I'd be cool with waiting. Literally an hour later, I've watched a significant number of people walk out with orders that ranged from small to moderate in size. I asked on of the clerks what the deal was and was nonchalantly informed of how busy they were. When I asked why the order wasn't ready, dispute it's early placement and phone call confirmation, I'm waived off with some response about "yeah, we don't do that" or something to that effect. At that point, I'm too frustrated to bother arguing my previous experiences in having done so. The clerk didn't seem to care either way. I told them to forget it and walked out. I placed a call on the way home and asked for a refund. At no point in any of this was there a simply apology or acknowledgement of the situation. It sucks too, because I really do like not having to deal with shipping on these sorts of things. I can't really justify ever going there again though. read more

I will admit...I was a bit perturbed going into CSI only because I saw the windows plastered with all these stickers of Pokemon, Yu Gi Oh, Magic and many other card games...I would consider myself a nerd and even I was a bit amazed at all the "stuff" they had... After the initial shock of this place I slowly realized how amazing this place is for those who want to throw out all negativity at the door and really embrace the geek culture thriving in here. I don't partake in any card games listed above but I came here to try out and pick a board game my friends and I could enjoy. The selection in-store is pretty vast compared to the Monopoly, Clue, Battleship and various other mundane offerings at your run of the mill store. CSI offers a lot of unique board and card games that are hilarious and extremely fun! I had never heard of Munchkins untill recently and they offer so much of the selections available here at CSI. Along with the very unique games to purchase, they also offer a limited selection of games for those who want to give a test run. Most of the games available for free play are the fairly popular selection of games. For those who love game night with friends and want to travel more into specific games aside from the typical ones out there, CSI is a must visit! read more

Coolstuff is a business leader in the board game sales industry. Ask around in boardgamegeek.com, the IMDB of boardgames with a far better community, and most if not all members will tell you how great Coolstuff is. I don't know how they are able to keep everything off the MSRP, when all other stores apparently can't offer them any cheaper than full price, but they do. Unfortunately, their shipping costs are not as affordable, so most out-of-Central Florida gamers tend to take advantage of the free shipping once their order reaches or exceeds $100, but if you do live in Central Florida, then you are very lucky indeed. I started buying exclusively from them when they were only at the Winter Park location, but then they grew like crazy and opened up in Maitland, in a much bigger locale. Apparently, they wrapped up the initial one and opened another one in Waterford Lakes, as Maitland was just a few miles away and probably sending their original, smaller store into obscurity. I have met and gamed with the owner, and he's a fairly nice guy. I even used to play in their Wednesday Boardgaming meetings, but work and distance prohibited me from continuing to participate. I don't know if they still do it, as Magic the Gathering is their main focus of activity, and they are very, very busy with that community. Anyway, huge inventory, fantastic prices, great management, and seemingly successful, so it looks like they are going to be in business for a long time. The only thing I disliked was that some of the clerks at the store were not always eager to help or quick to take care of your order/questions, but that's probably because the typical Magic the Gathering crowd was draining them of enthusiasm. i moved from South Florida, having been going to the CS Hollywood location for a long time. I taken trips to CS Winter Park and it was ok but I missed the Hollywood location. However when I came to this Cool Stuff for the first time, I was in shock. I love this place, it might be my favorite card shop if it wasn't so far from where I live. It's so big inside with so much space that even when the place is full, you'll always have room to yourself. You can order singles and they'll get if for you in an almost deli like style. The prices are great and better then anywhere around and the staff here is great as well. Wish more locals could be like this. They have sent the wrong card with a miniature and then took the whole order back and most recently shipped my order to the wrong store. I will no longer provide them with my business and will advise friends of my experiences with them. Cool Stuff and Games is the card heaven that my nerd soul dreamed of. Cool stuff is a very open location with over 20 long table, good for playing any type of card/board game. It has a wide array of sealed packs that feature Yugioh, Magic and Pokémon to name a few. The staff is knowledgeable on how to play many different games and they engage the people well. The customer base is a very open and inviting group of people, who are not afraid to come by and ask to play. The card look up on the computers are very helpful at finding card you need and doing a quick purchase.The 2 negatives of cool stuff is the buy back program in which they buy single for a set price. Most of the time, you enter up to 20-30 cards and they will either be buying it for a couple cents or none at all. I recommend selling them elsewhere. The second negative would be the loudness. The Maitland location is a very popular location with it being busy most of the mid afternoon to night. At some points it is hard to hear the person in front of you, yet alone the employees calling from customers names. In the end, I would recommend card players and board game lovers to visit cool stuff and play games surrounded by people who love those games as much as you do. read more

Great place to buy and play games. I have been here twice to buy games for my husband. They have an assortment of card and dice games & many more. This is the main location and where all their goods also ship from online. They have a bunch of tables where people are always playing games or tournaments. One time we just bough an item in store the other time I ordered it online and picked it up later. That way I got the sale price without having to be there the same day. Their prices are very good, better than Amazon. The staff is very helpful as it is overwhelming at first getting into pro gaming. We have mostly gone here for dice masters. CoolStuff is one of the biggest and best game stores in the country (says the boyfriend). We stop by to pick up his board game orders and typically visit on International Tabletop Day when they open their warehouse for tours and host Geek and Sundry's annual event. The store is large, but may look a little empty to the normal eye. They have a couple of shelves with board games that line the walls (including a shelf of games available to play for free while you're in the store). Don't be fooled, this is not the end of the supply. The majority of their games are in their attached warehouse. Purchase online and pick up in store or you can search their warehouse with one of the computers available in the main storefront area and they will get what you are looking for. The bulk of the shop is set up with long tables where people are sitting and playing games. Often times when I have been by, they are hosting a tournament so the tables are full of people playing the same game. They seem to attract a large audience for Magic cards, but that's not all. They have a bulletin board at the front which outlines when they have specific tournaments and some themed nights for a particular game. It's a nice environment to find someone with similar interests to play games with. The counter at the front has drinks and snacks and they often order pizza if you want to buy a slice. If you're into games, and looking for friends who want to play, this seems like the place to go. They also have some events where people can bring their old games to sell to others at discounted prices (like a game yard sale). Great time to find a new game at a cheaper price. read more

I've also purchased near mint condition cards from Coolstuff that were in the exact same condition as the supposedly "played" cards they've bought from me. Can you say "double standard"? DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS STORE TLDR is that worst of all, they will lose your stuff in the mail and then go tell you to screw yourself. But how did we get there? First, I bought $200 worth of cards from them at a GP (3 Tarmgoyfs - NM price). Because I always assumed these guys were reputable, it didn't occur to me to even look at the cards twice to make sure they were indeed, near-mint. Of course, I get them home to see they are all damaged on the bottoms. After thinking about it, and from their subsequent behavior, I have no doubt this happened, because they were deliberately trying to pawn them off on me, hoping I wouldn't notice, or care enough to raise a stink once I did. If you got these online, marked NM, you would be PISSED. So, my guess is they took all the ones they had like that and tried to hand them to people in person, and then quickly shoo them away from the table (again, only in retrospect I realize this is exactly what they did. I email them about it, and they tell m they're very sorry, that I can mail them the cards back and that they will give me a full refund. Assuming "full refund" means cash, I mail the busted goyfs back to them, and buy four for what they charged me for three on TCGplayer, which actually WERE near-mint, thank you very much. When my cards finally do make it back to them and they process everything, of course this "full refund" is in store credit. I decide not to make a big deal out of that; I still need some Bobs and some fetchlands, might as well get them from these guys, right? So I put in THAT order. Which comes with tracking, and says it's delivered to my house! Hooray! Except it isn't there. I go to the post office to make sure there hasn't been some mistake, and they insist they delivered it - like ten minutes ago, in fact. Someone must have stolen it off my doorstep. This is frustrating, and I contact them about it. I'm then told I should FILE A POLICE REPORT, and make a claim with the usps. Except that I CAN'T make a claim, because apparently this store doesn't bother insuring any of their shipments - even the $200 ones. I bring this to their attention, and ask them if they'll please send me a replacement order. Perhaps they can ask the post office to hold it, if they'd like. (Something that Cardkingdom gladly did, with many apologies, by the way, when the same thing happened just a few days later.) I had high hopes for this Coolstuffinc. They have a wide range of board games, several computers setup to search their inventory, and quite a few game tables. I also like to support local game stores instead of resorting to online shopping. My disappointment and low rating comes from the fact that it was actually easier for me to leave the shop I was STANDING IN, drive home, and order the same games on Amazon! Apparently they do more sales online than they do inside the store so their whole sales process is setup around online orders through a miserable checkout process that required me to create an account and go through the whole shopping cart ordeal. That mixed with a huge bug that makes PayPal interactions break the pickup at store option resulted in me walking out. On top of it all, if their intent is to try and compete as an online store instead of catering to their in-store customer experience, then maybe their prices should be better than Amazon - but they weren't. I was able to save a few bucks, get free shipping, and only have to wait a day, to get my games delivered to my door by ordering through Amazon instead. This place is great! Charms J. just to let you know the Board games on the self are only a very small sampling of the board games they have in back. When I first went I felt like you did, then I talked to someone that worked there about a board game I was interested in and they said they have it in the back. What you do is go to the computers they have there (or search at home) pick a board game you like and they get it from the back storehouse for you and do not worry their collection is vast!!! Me and my husband love to play Board games and we only go to Coolstuffinc to buy them, the price is great and we can find any board game we want, just as long as the game is not out of print. They have a large self of popular board games you can just sit down and try before you buy, which is very cool!! They have a lot for card game lovers to, but we prefer the board games. For new comers to the store they should have a sign where the board games are to say they have a larger collection in the back and to ask a worker for more info, for I can see the confusion for some people thinking the board games on the selves are the only ones they have. read more

I called and the apathetic man was confused why I was calling about not being able to find their address. He told me he could give me the address and I was thinking "That is why I am calling you!" NOT for the new & casual gamer. NOT for window shopping. This is basically a place to get together to game, and buy the BARE MINIMUM of stuff to augment your deck. If you have a regular store, buy there and play there. This store just wastes your time. There is VERY little to see. The store's principle to is to buy from the website and they'll go in the back and get it. You use the dozen terminals against the wall to buy it and the floor help (which is EXTREMELY UNHELPFUL) gets it for you. If what you want is out of stock, just turn around and leave... If you have a kid/child/teen who wants to look into Yu Gi Ho, HeroClix, table top gaming or whatever, this ISNT the place for him/her. Sadly, with the death of Rhubarb Games in Winter Park, this is basically the closest place in Orange County. Luckily, Acme Superstore is expanding and has more gaming nights. Get your HeroClix from Acme, and if you want MTG, Yu Gi Oh and Pokemon - goto the tournament center on SR436 in Casselberry and Red Bug. I had a very negative experience with CSI regarding their refund policy when a price changes. Their policy is that if you order an item, and the price for that item decreases, you cannot receive a refund or store credit for that item if the item has already been delivered. If the item is on the truck to be delivered you can get store credit or a refund, but once the item is delivered they are completely unwilling to issue any kind of refund. I placed an order on a Thursday. The item was delivered on Saturday. The following Monday, i.e. four days later, the item was listed for sale at 20% less than what I had paid. I called to ask for a refund for the difference ($14), expecting that items were price protected (for example, like Amazon does). I was told that not only would no refund or credit be issued, but that there was no one else I could speak to and that they were not willing to do anything to address the issue. The customer service representative was polite, but I am unlikely to shop with CSI again due to their adherence to this policy. I feel like it is reasonable to request a refund or store credit under these circumstances, and I was completely stonewalled. ------ UPDATE: After posting this initial review, I was contacted by a CSI representative and the situation was resolved to my satisfaction. CSI and I reached a fair compromise, and I am much more satisfied with their service. read more
