I've worked with Ken at Cool Shades multiple times in the last 15 years. The shop is always clean and he is always friendly. I like that the tint options are on the door so you can see what they look like and if you can see through them. Whenever I get a new to me vehicle, tint is a top priority for me. I usually get the front windows done to match the back and then the dark strip on the front. Usually only takes a couple of hours at most and it's always immaculately put on. Ken's work is the best quality you are going to see for tint! Do know going in that Cool Shades does not offer 5% on the front windows due to current state regulation with that being illegal. You will need to look elsewhere for that service. read more

I had Cool Shades tint the two front windows on my 2013 Avalanche in May 2014, and they did a great job. Now 10 years later, I noticed both had just started to peel from the bottom. I contacted Ken and he asked if I had my original receipt/warranty, which I did. We scheduled an appointment for a couple days later on 12/17/24, to have the film removed and replaced at no charge. This was completed in the 2 hour time frame it was promised and looks great. I don't know if I will keep my truck for 10 more years, but I'm confident if I did and had another issue, it would be handled again in a professional and friendly manner. Thank you! read more

I had Cool Shades put tint in my kitchen and breakfast room windows. They look great and it is so much cooler in both rooms. Ken and Gary had the tint up in no time and the windows look beautiful. If you want dark tint don't go here. Definitely don't bring your high end car unless you want weak tint. Make sure they will/can do the work before you schedule appointment. They wasted almost two weeks of my time just for me to show up and tell me they wouldn't (not couldn't, they WOULDN'T) give me the darker tint I want. Too bad because I was already thinking of future work before I arrived, but now there's no chance of that! As for the business responce...you can claim safety concerns and I might get a ticket all you want. Those are my concerns not yours!!!! You even had a dark tint car sitting in front of your shop in your parking spot. Your position on this issue cost you my business today and tomorrow, and now it will cost you others as well. Had you guys simply told me about your "policy" up front I would have simply moved on. Instead of refusing to install the tint I wanted you should have done my install. BUYER BEWARE! BUSINESS DOES NOT HONOR WARRANTIES!! In 2003 I had my windows tinted on my 2002 ford mustang by cool shadrs. I received a lifetime warranty. The business was contacted yesterday 10/23/2023 because my rear window tint is bubbling. They asked if I had the receipt from 20 years ago. I said probably not but I'd look. They said is was not detrimental. I followed up today 10/24/2023. They said they would remove the tiny at no charge, but would charge me $150.00 to retint the rear window. They probably have a lifetime warranty not expecting someone to have a car 20yrs. I want the window tint removed and replaced at no charge per their lifetime warranty. In 2021 I spoke to Ken Jones owner. I showed him receipt for side windows. He said he could see in the computer I had something done but couldn't see what? Late review but I will be a returning customer. I had my '05 Mercury Mariner tinted in September of 2014, including the eyebrow of the windshield at 5%. I don't exactly remember the worker but I believe it was Ken (?). Tint job is flawless, a rock hit my windshield so I had it replaced. I get all my vehicles tinted at cool shades. Ken and Don take pride in their work, and are honest about explaining the state laws to you regarding "legal tint". They do quality work, and stand behind it. I had a window that needed to be re-done, and they did it without hassle. They do pinstriping and graphics too. You need to make an appointment. There are restaurants and shops within walking distance if you need to kill some time while you wait. They are closed Sunday and Monday. read more

I highly recommend having cool shades take care of your tinting needs. I had my car windows tinted at cool shades in 2005. I went back this summer because the edges of the tint were starting to bubble. Impressive that it lasted so long to start with. They honored my warranty even though the original supplier was long gone.... The windows look great! Staff there is professional and friendly. The employees at Cool Shades were so nice and helpful when the place that did my safety inspection failed my car because the third tail light was obstructed by the tint. They helped me resolve the issue right away and because they are so experienced they knew exactly what to do and had me in and out in about 15 minutes. Everything looked perfect. Taken two cars here now. Incredible customer service, outstanding product. Ken really knows what he's doing and takes immense pride in his work and business. He always takes the time to make sure I am getting exactly what I want as far as darkness and "look." You do have to make an appointment but he seems pretty flexible. I'm not sure about other negative reviews regarding hours or cancellations but it doesn't seem unreasonable for Ken, an independent business owner, to expect people to keep appointments. The service and product is WELL worth the standard (golden rule stuff going on here...). Prices are great, comparable to others perhaps better? Like someone else said there's lots of stores/food nearby (See my other review for Field Box) to pass the time. That being said they work quick and have always been ready to go when I got there. If you plan on making an appointment make sure your life is paused and nothing comes up. I made an appointment and unfortunately had to cancel due to having to travel for work. I called as far in advance as i could, 2 days, and when I spoke to Ken he lectured me for about 15 minutes. Starting with, and i quote, "ok well I'll give you one more chance but after you leave me hanging twice I'll no longer do business with you" Are you kidding me? Then he went on to tell me "well nothing against you. It's just that I still have rent to pay this month. Also workers to pay that are showing up in a few days to do your car that won't be there and now I have to find another way to make income because you cancelled and now I'm out the money I would have made if you didn't cancel." He probably said this a few times. At the end of the call he told me to let him know when I wanted to schedule an appointment. Yeah right. I'd have to be pretty desperate to want to talk to Mr personality ken again. Lol Needless to say I went to one of his competition and not only got a better price for more labor but no condescending hassle from some guy with a bruised ego on a power trip. Word of advice to Ken. You're not the only person in the area that tints windows. So you should probably think about that before you starting acting like a rude condescending prick, trying to take people on a guilt trip like you did. read more

I have had all my cars tinted here and its been great every time. I recently brought my new car to have it tinted only to discover the now charge more for Saturday appointments versus weekday. Unfortunately this will be the reason I have to take it somewhere to get the tinting done. read more

Cool Shades needs to close. Ken is awful to deal with. He hands writes on the recipt to void warranties he knows will need them. ALL tint should be under warranty, you shouldn't get to pick and choose which windows you will cover. NEVER will I use him again and NEVER will I send anyone to cool shades. read more
