I can't believe a review hasn't been written for these folks yet! Four years ago, I hired Steve Harding and his reptile pals for my son's 6th birthday - it was a HIT!!! The adults (who had no children) enjoyed the show as much (if not more!) as the kids. To this day, they STILL talk about "that reptile show". We've since seen him at our friends' kiddie parties, and just recently, in my backyard this past Saturday for my nephew's 3rd birthday. I've seen other reptile shows, and they just don't compare. My sister got Steve to come out for my nephew's 5th birthday party and it was amazing! I even had fun, haha. Felt like a kid again! He was great interacting with a group of 2 year old to 10 year old kids, he was able to control them, and even teach them about the animals. All kids and parents gathered around and enjoyed the show. The Fear Factor game he plays at the end was the best part. Kids and adults got to hold the animals, pet them, and feed some of them worms. He's even great at making sure you get good angles for pictures. And he made the birthday boy feel special by being able to do extra things and be his little helper. I would definitely recommend him if you want a reptile party. Not only is the show great, but he is wonderful with kids and that makes a big difference. Best kids birthday I have been to so far! I work/teach in a psych hospital for high school students with severe emotional disturbance due to PTSD caused by extreme physical, emotional, or sexual abuse. Not an easy crowd. I asked Steve and Christine to do a presentation for my students, since most never get to leave the hospital, and they have limited experience with nature, animals, or the outdoors. Steve and Christine did an amazing job! They allowed my students to handle the animals appropriately, they were both incredibly engaging with the students and highly informative in terms of helping the kids understand more about the animals and some of the unique characteristics of their incredibly diverse collection of reptiles, amphibians, arthropods, etc. More importantly, they both knew how to deal with my students' behaviors, which at times can be extremely challenging, and highly inappropriate. Every one of my students, and every staff member that attended the event, learned something new. Steve & Christine were amazing, they held 20 x 4yr olds attention of the whole hour and everyone had a blast (parents included!). The kids learnt a lot and really enjoyed being up close and even holding the critters. For those kids that did not want to hold or touch, they still enjoyed the show & watching their friends get close. There was no pressure to be involved if they did not feel comfortable. THIS IS A MUST if you want to have a reptiles out for a party. EVERYBODY ENJOYS THIS and you HAVE TO ADD THE FEAR FACTOR option to the party. They are awesome. I've been to a party with reptiles and the people just hung out to the side and showed kids as they came up. This is not like that. We went to a party where he was at and it was great. Seems like no show is alike because ours was like seeing him for the first time again. This is an awesome show with very skilled and the show is eduucational and lots of fun. STEVE IS GREAT and he knows how to handle kids 1-99 :) The parents asked just as many questions as the kids and they allow for the kids to touch and hold them in a very structured way. For my daughter's 6th birthday she requested a reptile party. Recently, we went to a party with another reptile show. They just didn't impress me. Nothing interactive. No handling of the animals. Pretty boring if you ask me. My kid likes to be involved. I remembered 6 years ago, my older daughter went to a reptile party and my husband had said the guy was awesome. This guy was Steve Harding, the Nature Guy @ Cool Critters. I immediately googled him and reserved a spot. Am I glad I did! Hands down THE best reptile show around! Steve was awesome with the kids, super informative, and let the kids hold a variety of animals. My daughter held about 12 of the 14 animals that were there. He used good judgment when allowing or not allowing the kids to handle his animals both for the safety of the kids and the animals themselves. Steve was very in tuned and connected with the children. He knew all about the animals and answered any questions the kids or parents had. Educational yet fun for ALL age groups. We had Steve and Christine come over for the first party that we've EVER hosted. They made it fun and easy for us. They've been doing this for 10 years or so and you can see their professionalism in the planning and presentation. Steve kept all the kids fully engaged especially the birthday boy. WOW!!! What a fantastic experience! Steve and Chris were AMAZING! The girls were mesmerized by the information, asked great questions, and were so excited to handle all of the animals. I told my daughter before the party started that I would absolutely not be touching any of the critters. But throughout the presentation, I started to feel more comfortable and actually held a leopard gecko, bearded dragon, and a corn snake! Contacted Steve (Cool Critters) at the recommendation of a family member in our Den. Steve was very easy to work with to schedule our 7:30 reptile show. He was on time and required very minimal time for setup. He continued to maintain contact and confirm the reservation, weeks leading up to the show. Our Pack had a great time and the boys learned interesting facts throughout the show. We recently hired Steve Harding and his Cool Critters for my son's 10th birthday. WOW - what a wonderful presentation!! Steve brings a wide selection of reptiles, amphibians, and arthropods (bugs) to the show. I booked a 1 1/2 hour show, which included a "fear factor" style game at the end of the show. This was really cool! The children (young and old) were engaged in all the activities -- everything from putting live earthworms in their mouths to letting hissing coach roaches climb on their arms. Steve was absolutely fabulous with the all the children (and adults). We had a young adult with special needs and he was very good at adjusting his approach, so that she could enjoy the show and interact with all the animals. My show also allowed plenty of time for photo ops -- every family got to pose with the huge albino python! My guests are still raving about the party and how much they enjoyed themselves. Several families have told me that they've been to other reptile shows, but none as good as Cool Critters. I highly recommend Steve Harding and his Cool Critters show. I was looking for a good idea for my sons 5th birthday party and came across Cool Critters. I spoke with Steve over the phone and through email to get more details and everything sounded legit. We booked the party and we were very excited to surprise my son. He LOVES reptiles and he really enjoyed the show as well as the other kids and all the adults. I got the 1 1/2 hour party and it was worth every penny. I liked that the birthday boy was the main one who was able to help out but I also liked that the other kids got to interact with the reptiles too. Everyone liked that they were able to learn a little something about each reptile. The Fear Factor game was alot of fun for the kids ... surprised alot of the parents as to what their kids are really brave enough to do. I also liked that everyone was able to take a picture with the big yellow snake and Nobody felt like they had to be rushed to take pictures, everything was at a good pace. Huge success and everyone was talking about it the rest of the party, sharing pictures and saying it was a great show. Lots of laughs & smiles during the whole show. Very entertaining for EVERYONE. The kids at the party were from 3 yrs old to 11 yrs old and Steve did a great job interacting with all of them. can i give 7 STARS the show was fantastic i had about 30-40 kids and another say 50-60 adults most were fascinated with this show ( ok a few were creeped out ) i spoke with christine to arrange the show she was very nice and had it all arranged . she called before hand to make sure i was ready we spoke a little while she was her these are BOTH great people.( her son was cool too) Steve did most of the talking and the demonstration from the moment he started he had control of all the kids it was great seeing the reactions to tank ( a GIANT sulcata tortoise ) now my son wants one as a pet LOL. the show had snakes lizards bugs all the creepy things and the kids loved it because of christine steve and thier son ( sorry forgot his name ) it was great i would love to give them an even higher rating and say if you want an expierence BOOK them. read more

We hired Cool Critters 2 months ago for my son's birthday. The kids and parents at my son's school are still talking about what a great party it was. Some of the kids were timid of the reptiles; but Steve & Christine were so great with the kids. They didn't force the animals on the kids; instead they invited every kid to touch all of the animals. If a child didn't want to touch an animal, it was ok and Steve & Christine kept the party going. By the end of the party, all the kids had opened up and touched or held a reptile. Steve & Christine were quick thinkers. We hired them for the additional "Fear Factor" inspired game. When some of the kids didn't want to do the stunts, they thought quickly to get the parents involved. We had kids putting frogs on their parent's faces, meal worms in parent's mouths. It was just the right amount of freaky to keep the party fun! Parties are stressful enough. Hiring Cool Critters made that party so easy.
