I love Homewood Grill!…read more If you are from Effingham or traveling through the area, then you must stop by! They have an interior walk up and drive through. The food menu is all fried food (reason for 4 stars). However, the star is the ice cream novelties. They have items called shake-n-mores which is like their version of a blizzard or concrete. They have DOLE whips in different flavors which you cannot find fresh outside of Florida! They have sweets for all as some items are vegan, gluten free and sugar free. Grab one of their ice cream pies for your next event. They are a family owned - woman ran business and everyone was so nice and polite. If you have a little assistance you can make this place pretty accessible. The only concern was that there was not a diaper changing station. They only have outdoor seating so you may have to take your treats and eats to go. But it is great they are open all year round. Check out all the fun art from the trash cans all the way into the restroom. I cannot wait until my next trip back to Homewood Grill!

Staffed almost entirely by high schoolers, they still managed to craft a Breaded Pork Tenderloin (BPT), which is so impressive, you'd think it could only be made by someone with a divorce or two under their belt. The balance of juice to crunch was nearly perfect. While some might find it slightly under-pounded and gently fried, the quality of the loin itself was so exceptional that any shortcomings were easy to overlook. The breading's seasoning was a bit subtle for my taste, but the fundamentals were so solid that nitpicking felt irrelevant. The tray was teal. The mustard was yellow. The meat was quality. The vegetables were crispy. The Onion rings are ideal. ...all for under $10.

They make the pizzas right there at the campground office. It smelled absolutely amazing in there. I wanted to give them a try as they've only got one yelp review and it looked like a pretty tough one. It seems like it's a prettier popular place around here so something had to be a mess. We ordered the 9 inch hot mother clutter because I love a good buffalo chicken pizza. She had it ready in 10 minutes and I had asked her to make the crust extra crispy and she did just that as you can see from my photo. Pricing was very fair at $10.50 for a 9 inch pizza. In full transparency, I did add a little drizzle of hot Frank's buffalo sauce because we like our pizzas extra spicy and I forgot to request that. It is a bar with food and it appears to cater to the trucking industry. It was late and there were only a handful of customers. Everyone seemed friendly. I had the special, which was a ny strip and twice baked potato. Not bad at all but the server compared it to Ruth Chris and I can tell you that there isn't a comparison. RC doesn't take a potato out of a bag and heat it up. The steak, while very good for the price, was not seasoned and it was tougher than a steak house steak. Good, great value but not the same. My wife had a walleye sandwich, it was very good. Here is why I only gave it 2 stars: It is a trucker hotel/bar. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that but I would not recommend it for children. We endured listening to loud rap during our meal. It is a bar and I don't promote taking kids to adult venues.

After a long time waiting, the management came up and said they couldn't return it even if it is unopened. No offer to right anything or any consideration to have a happy customer.
