My food was hot and fresh and the staff were appropriately polite at the window The service was rushed but sufficient The food here is a very reasonable price and you get a good quantity of everything. I ordered a small tray burger steak style which was so good the a1 sauce and caramelized onions are a great addition. My sides were the cheese curds which are like lil fried cheese goodness and a honey mustard chicken wrap You will get your calorie intake here if you finish a meal especially if you pair it with a milkshake or cheer wine float My favorite shake has to be the walnut shake it is similar to a butter pecan ice cream but less sweet The double drive thru makes this a very quick food stop and at about 10$ a person it is a cheap dinner or lunch read more

Went to this cookout and the next night my credit card information had been stolen and someone made several purchases the next day. This is the ONLY place I have physically handed someone my card and you can't see their registers when they ring you up from the drive through window. Everywhere else I shop I used my phone wallet. It was 100% the chick who rung me up snapping a photo of my card. Be careful!! I'll never go back to this ghetto establishment. SMDH read more

Always such a great experience at this cookout. We went stupidly late and although nervous of the quality, it all came out extremely hot and fresh. I was so pleased to find out that they would put bacon on the cheese fries, definitely a go to from here on out. The service is always quick and friendly. No interior to review but if they had it, it would be 10/10. read more

Not really sure what's going on tonight. It's not busy being that we pulled right up to the ordering menu. Took almost two minutes to be greeted at the window and the intercom system had so much feedback it took two people to take our order. Ordered two BBQ Plates to keep it short. Only thing I'm satisfied with is that i received my food in less that five minutes. Smells good tho read more

My friend recommended this place to me and I must say, I was not super impressed. I do like the fact that they are open very late, so they can fill that late night fast food craving you have. I honestly feel bad that I didn't like the food because the customer service was some of the best I've seen from fast food in the Norfolk area (which really isn't saying much haha). I went to the drive thru and the worker seemed cheerful, and when he forgot my drink, he quickly apologized and provided me my drink, and was very fast in providing me honey mustard for my fries when I requested. (Which I must say, their honey mustard is actually really good) As far as the food, it definitely wasn't bad, it wasn't great, it was.. okay. I ordered a bacon burger with Cajun fries and cheese bites as well as a cheesecake shake. The burger didn't have any mayo, mustard, or ketchup.. luckily I had some in my hotel.. maybe I'm mistaken but don't burgers usually come with some sort of sauce inside so it's not just a dry burger? Aside from that, it was a good burger. The Cajun fries were probably the best part, the seasoning they use is really good; however, they were a slight soggy for my liking. The cheese bites were very mediocre. Once again, not bad, but not great. The cheesecake shake was good, but my goodness was it thick. I mean my straw was completely flat from me sucking so hard trying to get a sip. I will say I am picky with milkshakes when they are too thick, but I mean, if I want something so thick that I can't drink it and have to use a spoon, I'll just order ice cream... haha Would I come here again on my own? Maybe if it was super late and nothing else was open. Would I come here if my friend wanted to? Probably. Food: 2/5 Customer Service: 4/5 Average Score: 3/5 Bonus points for having some really good honey mustard and being open late +.5 Final Score: 3.5/5 read more

We go to this cookout all the time and the staff always loves our dogs. We get them pup cups each time we go and the dogs love it. Tonight a long haired man with a beard and painted finger nails decided to argue with us about the pup cups and tell us "this isn't Starbucks, you're thinking about Starbucks" like umm no sir I'm thinking of this cookout that we have been to plenty before. After arguing with us we just gave up and left. Like dude learn some manners. I know the difference between a Cookout and Starbucks. Receipt says Kelly on it, hope he isn't rude to all customers like this. read more

literally never get my order right and all i get is a cheese quesadilla w cheese bites. i've completely stopped going cuz i expect only that

No dine in. Just a small fast food kitchen in a narrow parking lot with good street signage. Double drive thru was lightning fast though we were the only car on Saturday at 630pm. Janae patiently took our order, confirmed it for accuracy, inquired what sauces were needed, shared our total, and instructed us to drive up for payment. Window was on the passenger side; food was received seconds after payment was given. 1/4 lb cheeseburger tray with nuggets, fries and shake (x2) was $15.50. Neither cheap or sky high for the quantity of fair value food. Not spectacular but my kids like it, especially the custom shakes (aka ticking gut bombs). Parking lot was clean and well lit. Only one point of entry or exit. read more

Ordered something with the cheese bites as a side and there was literally so much hair stuck through the crust I could pick multiple bites up with a single strand and when I took the food back the main manager was super difficult about the whole situation. Worst cookout i have ever been to the location isn't terrible but it is difficult to get to from the main road depending on which way your coming from. read more

half my order was missing on a 40 dollar order. Called the number and no one answered at all.

Food boils your stomach within an hour , food was comparable to my bathroom experience, shitty. Wouldn't eat here unless you wanna take a shit. Over priced greasy food dirty oil tasting fries. 10/10 would not recommend. read more

I come to this location several times a week. I keep coming back because I love the food choices and sides. Today is 08/06/2022. I gave it a one star because my order wasn't done as I ordered it. I ask for a BBQ Plate w/ all fries (no Tex Pete /no coleslaw). What I had once I arrived home was a BBQ Sandwich w/ all fries. This has happened several other the times in the past. The drive-thru ordering Intercom system is horrible. If course the order won't be Correct!! I hate giving your business a one star. Your store is better than the Military Highway location. Please take this matter seriously. As I stated in the beginning, I love eating at COOKOUT!!! read more

Came here to get food. Went thru drive thru. Ordered some chicken strips and chickens strip sandwich. The two girls at the window were slow and one with glasses and dreads had an attitude when I informed my order was wrong when she messed up it up to begin with. They need some new equipment for the drive thru and people with better customer service all around. I will absolutely never be back at this one. read more

I'm convinced when they hire employees the only specifications is "can you speak English". Now how for one, every time I come to the only cook out I've ever been to, do they manage to find some way to get my order wrong EVERY TIME! This time I ordered blew my mind, I asked for a bacon burger with cheese only double fries, and a bacon burger with slaw and fries. Drive 15 minutes back home only to find out we got a bacon burger just cheese with no bacon, and then a bacon burger with double fries no cole slaw. Y'all must live under a rock to mess up an order this bad also with attitude. I'm not from Virginia and I will never recommend this establishment outside of this state. Cheap decent food with cheap employees. Don't get a job or work and waste people's time/money that we work hard for when we expect good customer service. This place is a joke. I'll be back to this review to make sure it's still up and if it isn't I'll post my receipt as proof. read more

HORRIBLE! I've been to 3 other locations and enjoyed the food and the portion of food. This location was a huge disappointment. I couldn't believe the lack of food that was in the tray. They should be embarrassed to give someone that little amount of French fries. I'm never going back and I wouldn't recommend this location to anyone. I also ordered another tray with hush puppies and it was hardly any in the tray. The quesadillas might have had 4 strands of chicken equivalent to strands of hair. It should have been called a cheese quesadilla in my opinion. This was definitely a poorly managed location with staff who aren't equipped to prepare food and or provide decent portions to customers. The people at the drive thru were nice but passed the food along with no care. Soda almost spilled, food tilted over smh it was a mess. read more

You guys talk too damn much instead of focusing on the customers order! What pisses me off more so is when you go to other locations in the city they're friendlier and more attentive! To completely serve me a tray without fries is bullshit!! And I believe the cashier knew something was up bc she made a comment and quickly closed the window. I was very disappointed by the service at this location not only that they made me feel rejected by the way they treated me and my family.

Food is great. Just a little expensive for the quantity you get. Burgers are small. Need to be a little bigger to match the price.

Honestly the worst cookout u can go to in norfolk what's the point in having 2 drive throughs if you can't get anybody order right y'all want business but service is trash food sucks your order either won't be right or won't be in the bag then the food be burnt and dry like then the employees aren't even knowledgeable about food I asked them what's in a certain meal they tell me they don't know ..(df) why do you work here then but yea frfr y'all wasting y'all time going to this cookout read more

Quick and cheap, best milkshakes around. This isn't meant to be a gourmet stop, but perfect if you're wanting a bite on a budget.

Whoever tried to take my order couldn't hear me so they told me to pull up to the window. I get to to the window and the person there tells me she can't take my order at the window and to go back around which I did. I ordered a small burger cookout style with onion rings and a small oreo cookie shake. She kept asking what do I want on my burger? I had to say "cookout style" three times. Still didn't get what I was asking for?? Get to the window and they have the worst attitude. Just bad service and rude. Will not be returning to this location. read more

I visited this past weekend reluctantly because aide my daughter wanted some burgers and fries in a hurry. I have been to this location before and I was disappointed in the food and customer service. After visiting this last weekend the person in the drive thru was the most pleasant and patient person I have encountered ever and nose definitely for this chain and location. The food was cooked perfectly and he was very charming. He says he was the general manager. Keep up up the good work!! I like the changes. I also forgot to mention it was the shortest wait I have had in a loooonnnngggg time. read more

Incompetent and rude trying to order and we could see the cashier for the left side window bullshitting with other workers we sat and waited until she was done before she took our order then she was short and cut us off at the end of our order. I have been meaning to get over to cook out since this location was built. We parked and walked up to find it's drive through only but none of the signs indicate this. The other cookout I've been to had a dine-in so we never thought they wouldn't have seating. We really needed a place to sit so we left. Between getting other people's food or missing items we haven't haven't had good luck with drive throughs in the area so I didn't want to take the chance. After reading the reviews I am glad we left. Looks like it would have been disappointing. read more
