I ordered 2 Cheerwine floats (Sunday 8:08pm) through the drive thru but as I was about to leave the window, I took off the lids and saw the cups were only half full. I asked the driver thru worker if it was normal for them to only be halfway full and he said yes. I decided to go inside and ask a different worker. They said it wasn't and that they would remake them. Once I drove away, I tried one and realized they didn't remake them but just added a ton of soda on top of the old drive thru ones. It totally ruined the floats and was pure liquid. I'm so disappointed that 2 workers could not fix this issue correctly for me and don't take any pride in their work. I'm writing this immediately after ordering, at just before 12 pm. The person taking orders at drive-thru, Miguelle (I definitely spelled that wrong,) was very enthusiastic and nice. He seemed all around in a great mood, super friendly, and interactive. As someone who works in food service, that energy is definitely rare and super cool. Everyone else I interacted with at the window was very nice as well, and enthusiastic. I just didn't ask for their names. Employees like that are a rare find! I hope this reaches them. "Manager" Zack, Extremely unprofessional and unhelpful. I came through around 10pm hoping to receive some quick food. I drive a Semi truck, most fast food restaurants will serve you at the drive-thru window if you let them know you have a truck. Zack was extremely rude in letting me know I could not be served after a separate employee told me it was OK. I was told that they allow it for EMS Employees. Why not truck drivers? My husband and I ate at Cookout for the first time on Sunday and we were both disappointed. I ordered a burger with a side of onion rings and hush puppies and strawberry milkshake. I received a shrivelled up burger (I asked for tomatoes but got none), 4 onion rings - yes 4; I didn't know there was a world shortage on onions!! and 5 hush puppies. When we got into the restaurant I had to go to the restroom , when I walked in the restroom I was completely stunned . The floors were all wet and sticky and while I was doing my business flies were flying all around me . The only thing good about the bathroom was that they had automatic paper towels and not hand dryers Then lets get to the food , I ordered a milkshake and a burger and on the burger I got mayo , cheese , and pickles ! When they gave me my food I went to get some napkins and a straw , the counter where you get that from was sticky and disgusting. I got into the car and began to eat , everything was good at first but when I bit into the middle I got a nasty taste of something like charcoal in my mouth . My burger was burnt ! It's hard to decide whether to give 3 or 4 stars. I come here often, and usually have no problems with the place, inside is clean and the customer service is great. I don't understand the yee yee bo's that like to loiter out front for some odd reason. My burger is never made right though. I never review anything much less review places poorly but this specific cookout has to have the poorest customer service I've had. Very unprofessional. I started out by entering the dining area to order and waited 5 solid minutes at the register while they screamed and hollered like the were having a party back there. (This was not your typical busy kitchen talk but more like elementary school recess shouting). I gave up and walked out. I gave them a second chance later in the day and this time went through the drive thru. They were still going crazy in the back room and while the lady was taking my order at the sign outside they were inaudible due to the immense background sound of the employees carrying on. This in response to the late-night, dine-in service. My husband and I placed our orders at 11:03. His food came out relatively promptly, and while nothing amazing quality or taste-wise----typical Cookout food--the order was correct. Then I waited and waited and waited and meanwhile watched one other person order (and wait and wait) and one person walk in, wait at the counter for a good 5 minutes, never even get acknowledged by the employees, who were all in back, and leave, and then, yep, I continued waiting. After 20 minutes of waiting, the person who ordered after me's food came up, and I went up to ask where my food was. Turns out it was done, but the employees thought I'd already gotten my food and they were trying to give my food to the other person, whose order was totally screwed up to begin with. So after 20 minutes of waiting I got my lukewarm food (with one measly little piece of lettuce on it. Really? Because lettuce is so expensive?), but then had to wait another few minutes for them to make the milkshake I had also ordered. When the other person who was waiting asked what the problem was an employee, who was either on break and just wandering behind the counter or who really didn't care one way or the other, blew it off and just continued to drink his soda. Restaurant was dirty. Employees were basically nowhere to be found. And the food was meh. I've had way better experiences with the Cookout in Five Points. The only positive of the trip was that the employee who took our order was pleasant in that interaction. read more

the food was consistent cookout quality, but this location did not impress me. It is a very new facility and seems nice, but the bathrooms were NOT clean. If my husband says "gross" you know it's really bad! He didn't even want to touch the sink it was so nasty. The two cashiers seemed like they would rather be any place else but here, and were not helpful or friendly at all. The order space and the pickup space are the same area which causes congestion and confusion. I wiped down my own table, which is just a minor thing. Finally, the drink area was MESS! I had to inform them they were running out of napkins and such, everything was splattered and sticky, one coke nozzle was broken, the other was out of coke. The mat on the floor was partially rolled up and leaning against the counter leg, which was a tripping hazard. We did not enjoy this experience! I'm glad I only live a mile down the street from this location. You get a great deal of food for the amount your pay. They have various options for the meat portions of the trays (hamburgers, BBQ, Hot Dogs, chicken strips) that comes with two sides and a drink for just under $5.00 (pre-tax). For me - their hamburgers taste like they have just come off a grill and love these burgers compared to a local bbq chain that is within a half mile of this location that tries to sell burgers as well. On my last visit - I wanted to try something different from the typical burger I usually get - so I opted for a chargrilled bbq chicken sandwich - which I was sort of disappointed in - the bbq "sauce" was a mixture of what I believe to be bbq sauce and may (?) - not totally expecting that. I'll probably just stick to the burgers. Size wise, this is really the main disappointment with this location. I believe this location was an old Taco Bell - which has since moved down the street. As sad as it is to say, Cookout has always had one of the best BBQ sandwiches I have ever had. The meat is tender and juicy, the Texas Pete adds the heat I desire, and the slaw isn't a heaping pile of mayo and cabbage. The fries are fresh and crispy and the hushpuppies are some of the best you will find anywhere. I have been to countless BBQ restaurants, and Cookout still supersedes most authentic joints.
