Cook Out never disappoints. I have tried many of their locations. The service is always fast and the food is usually fresh. This visit was no exception. I really like the pork sandwich and that's usually my go to. However, a shout to the cheeseburger. It is good as well. I also like their hushpuppies. The fragrant smell of cheeseburgers being cooked will pour you into this new Jacksonville (AL) favorite. As others have mentioned this establishment exudes a sleek and clean interior. Being from the Carolinas I'm familiar with the Cook Out mentality and I appreciate their consistency. They offer burgers, hot dogs, corn dogs, quesadillas, hush puppies, fries, a few other odds and ends but most importantly they offer milkshakes. 40+ premium flavors including Hershey's Chocolate, Orange Push Up, Peach Cobbler, Oreo Mint and just about any other flavor to tickle your fancy. And if you're wondering they have mixed two flavors for me in the past best of both worlds baby, best of both worlds. This particular location sports the same values and freshness as the other locations the only difference is the shiny top coat since it's a new location. They have a drive thru as well as indoor seating. Stopping in on a Sunday we hit the Church crowd so the food took a little longer then usual but it was delicious so I'm not complaining and we were in no rush. The front staff was quick to apologize for any inconvenience that the lengthy wait may have caused so on that note the customer service was great! read more

Good place for a burger! This was my only time to have eaten here, but it was a good value for the food! It was a little late for lunch, but my food was hot and the service was good. This place is very clean and the gals working here are very friendly. This is a good place to run in to if your low on dollars but want something fresh cooked. I am a local in the area, so this is one of my go to spots. Well let me say it all depends on whose in the kitchen it's been hit and miss visits. For those missed times it seems this last recent visit in which I reached out to corporate because I couldn't get in touch with someone at the restaurant (Goggle had a 866 # listed) the person I spoke with at corporate came off as though the order mishap is my fault. Hence instead of sincerely apologizing and presenting themselves professionally she came off as I was a bother and very uninterested in my concern. read more

Oh how I love Cook Out!! I'm a Carolina girl, so I hold Cook Out close to my heart. I mean really, you just can't beat getting a tray for $4.99 and have an abundance of food! We always love their hamburgers that are char grilled and their chicken quesadillas. I also love their hush puppies. This is just no frills food that is fast but made to order. So many different flavors of shakes that it would take you a while to decide on a flavor. Of course, having a Cheerwine to drink is also a must when you're here. This is always a sure bet. The quality and consistency are always there whenever you are at any of their locations. But this one is perfect for me since it's in the heart of my alma mater and let's me have the comfort foods from home. read more

Great, cheap food. The tray combo ($5 for a whole chunk of food) is SUCH a good value. The food is regular fast-food-type food, so it's not the healthiest, but it's definitely the best you can get for the price. The beef quesadillas are a little hit or miss, they're either incredibly spicy or just bland, like they've been sitting on the counter for an hour. The Tuscaloosa location does it WAY better than this. Overall would recommend. You won't get better fast food in Jacksonville for the price, but there's definitely better food. read more

This restaurant is definitely one of the most unique restaurants I've ever been to. I like the sleek design of this restaurant and the fact it displays many pennants for Jacksonville State University, showing support for what is nearby. It is a clean establishment and a not a speck of trash could be seen. The menu is mostly affordable and has much variety. They offer hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken breasts, chicken wraps, pork BBQ, and much more. They seem to put a lot of focus on their milkshakes and have 40+ flavors. I've only had one milkshake from here (I believe it was peanut butter) and it was a bit too creamy for my liking, but it was good overall. During this visit, which was my third, I had the BBQ plate. They offer cole slaw, fries, and hush puppies as the sides for that item, but I substituted the slaw for extra fries. They gave me slaw anyway and forgot the hush puppies, but they gladly brought a bag of hush puppies to our table and included a few extra as an apology for their mistake. The pork BBQ was delicious and had a slight spiciness to it. It had a tangy sauce on it that made every bite enjoyable. The fries were okay and so were the hush puppies. The employees were respectful and the manager was pleasant to speak with. This place is worth a try, but the only complaints of mine is that their portions are rather small, the food isn't always as hot as it should be, it's hard to find napkins, and they only have the little packets of salt and pepper. However, they have Cheerwine as an option to drink which is great! read more

This review pains me to write because I have always wanted to try Cookout and finally got to yesterday. We drove 45 minutes out of our way to eat here. The food was fast, fresh, hot and tasted great. Above average fast food for sure. But the absolute rudeness of the drive thru person was hard for me to deal with. While taking out order we could hardly understand her because she was so short with us. A little maddening when you're new to a place. But then we get to the window it got worse. The only thing the girl at the window said to us was "16.48". Not one other word. Not thank you, not have a nice day. Not even a "here you go" when she handed me our order. I was wondering if we had everything. This was at 430 or 5 pm past night. I'd keep her far away from my customers if I were you Jacksonville Cookout. Final verdict. 4.5 for everything but hospitality. The hospitality gets a minus 5 stars. read more

The food is delicious. But at least one of the staff, namely the employee that works in the drive thru, is incredibly rude and unpleasant. She acts as though she's being bothered by having people come through and having to do her job. She's literally rolled her eyes at me before for asking for my drink when she'd given me just my food and slammed the window in my face. After my last trip there I called the manager to complain and he assured me he would take care of it. Obviously I'll never know. But I haven't been back since. read more
