I bought the coupon off yelp after reading all the reviews for Controlling Systems. I was able to schedule someone to come out for our yearly maintenance within a week, and had my choice of 2 hour time slots throughout the day. The technician, Brent, called me when he was 15 min away, which was great. Brent was very nice, and did a great job. We were concerned that our old furnace wasn't going to make it through the winter and that a repair man would try and scare us into buying a new furnace. Brent checked out our furnace, gave us an honest assessment, but used no sales tactics or up-sells. He told us that indeed our furnace was old, past it's expected life span, but didn't have any major problems that he could see other than some rust. But no holes or leaks, just operating at low efficiency. He was very polite, was not in a hurry to get to the next job, and stayed and answered all our questions. He told us about about what options we had when we were ready to get a new furnace, and let us know about the different options. He explained everything clearly and didn't use terms that I didn't understand. I would highly recommend Controlling Systems, I had a great experience. Patrick. read more

I had to leave a review because Controlling Systems gave PHENOMENAL customer service regarding my new heat pumps. I've spoken to a half dozen companies about getting heat pumps into my home. The quotes were ridiculous - ranging from $35k to $60k - with no flexibility. Just "take it or leave it." Chris from Controlling Systems was so different. He took the time to listen to what I needed, sketched out and explained how all the different options worked, and gave me a range of options to choose from. Rather than doing my whole house at once, he came up with a proposal to do it in two phases over 2-3 years so I could afford it. And he took on the burden of navigating all the rebate complexity so I didn't have to. THEN, Denver City pulled the funding for the rebates after I'd signed with Controlling Systems. Rather than cancel the job, Controlling Systems offered to take the financial hit, and keep the original price. Ryan (the owner) was incredibly nice about the situation, my second awesome experience with his company. 10/10. A fantastic, local company who is honest, listens and does solid work. Can't recommend highly enough. read more

I called Controlling Systems out to my house because my A/C was not cooling. The tech showed up and immediately found there was a leak in one the schraeder valves. Instead of suggesting that the valve be replaced and the system charged, he said he would use a can of Sealant to basically accomplish what a can of Fix A Flat does for your tires. He then quoted me a price of $450 dollars for the repair. $350 for the refrigerant - R410a. I knew right away he was trying to rip me off and cut corners. I called another reputable company and the tech had the problem resolved in an hour-THE RIGHT WAY. He replaced both Schraeder valves and charged the system which needed 2 lbs of refrigerant. The total bill was $200 and it has been running perfectly ever since. The charge for the refrigerant was $35-not $350. You can buy a 25 lb bottle of refrigerant for around $165. Don't let this company cut corners and rip you off, find someone else. read more

About 5 years ago I chose Controlling Systems to replace my aging furnace with an integrated Carrier heat pump, high efficiency gas furnace, A/C coil, humidifier and electronic air cleaner. The new system has worked wonderfully since them. I continue to have Controlling Systems perform a yearly seasonal heating and cooling tune up of the system. Brent has always been our "Technician of Choice". He is always punctual on his service calls and explains everything that he is doing to the equipment as well as informing us where he finds things that "are just not right". More importantly he really listens to what we are telling him. I would recommend Controlling Systems to anyone who is looking for great HVAC service and prices. read more

Controlling Systems is an awesome company. 5 years ago they were to install a furnace but on the day of instillation they did not have to specific furnace so they upgraded the furnace. While my house was on the market I called to check the warranty and Brent had the information readily available. Since it was very cold I asked if he would go to check the furnace. Within a very few hours he had found that the igniter on the furnace was defective and replaced it. The warranty was still in effect! What a blessing and he saved a major freeze inside the house. I cannot give enough praise to Brent and Controlling Systems. read more

I must give these guys 5 stars. They are quick, honest, and economical. My furnace died the last week in December during a pretty cold spell and we called another company that we felt was trying to rip us off. CS came by and quoted us a price that was 1/3 of the other company, which was exactly in line with the research I had done on what replacing a furnace should cost. They brought us 5 space heaters until the job could be done 2 days later - no problem whatsoever there. Job was done and everything has been going smoothly since. We couldn't be happier and would recommend them to anyone for their AC/heating needs. read more

Controlling Systems replaced our furnace and installed an AC unit when we bought our home last summer and were very professional, curious, and prompt. When the carbon monoxide monitors went off in our rental property on Sunday they were out to the location within 2 hours, and we had a new, safe furnace for our tenants that very next day! This is a company that truly does what they say they will do while being fairly priced. read more

I recently used Controlling Systems and was very pleased. Josh was my tech and I have had him to my home twice now. He was pleasant, informative, very helpful and I really appreciated how he brought his equipment into my home being considerate of my floors and stairs and leaving the areas where he worked clean. I will use them again and I will also refer them to my family and friends. Thanks Controlling Systems! Susan Ramsey read more

The work done by this company, especially Roman & Josh, was professional, and nothing short of amazing. Overcoming a few obstacles, they went above and beyond to make sure the project was done the "right way". Their workmanship, cleanliness and overall positivity says a great deal about their training. Management and ownership should be commended because everyone's efforts are noticed. Thank you so very much for a job well done. read more

I don't review often, but we have been using controlling systems for over 4 years now. They install and maintain our swamp cooler, and check our heater during the winter. They always send someone extremely knowledgeable, and get the work done quickly. Their scheduling team is amazing, always friendly, and quick to contact with any issues, and occasionally earlier time slots. I highly recommend them. read more

Furnace died overnight in January. Called Controlling Systems in the morning - they said someone would be there between 10-12. Brent showed up at 10am sharp, immediately determined that the igniter was the problem, and replaced it with the correct manufacturer's part within 20 minutes. Price was reasonable. Can't recommend them enough. read more

These gentlemen gave the best price, moved some duct work that others wouldn't even quote, and despite an error on the install that caused some minor furnace malfunctions, they were very responsive and fixed the issue with a smile and an apology + free filter and tune. Best customer service experience in long time. read more

Every step, from the estimate with the super friendly Ryan, to the final walk-thru with the always professional Gemini, was absolutely top notch. These guys were great- bordering on stellar! I bought an old house in old town Lafayette and it had the original furnace. They replaced it in one day and added AC. They worked with me on price and financing and they left the work space clean. Can't ask for much more than that. read more

Great service from tech Izzy today! He explains things so thoroughly. I appreciate that this company does not try to push us to purchase new equipment from them until it is truly necessary. We sign up for their service plan and are very happy. read more
