Awesome customer service and recovery from Bill/Owner and Brent/Supervisor. It turned out that they weren't able to fix the type of a/c I have, but I will recommend them to anyone needing HVAC work! read more

This company did a beautiful AC install 8 yrs ago and I have enjoyed a trouble free system all these years. Attic fan finally died yesterdat and they were able to turn around a tech in one day. Sean Langan is a consummate profession, knows his trade. Arrived on time with a phone call ahead of arriving, diagnosed the problem quickly and was able to install a new unit quickly. Friendly and smart, gave this old lady a lot of new and helpful tips on AC operation too. Call these folks first, you won't be disappointed! read more

I purchased the yelp deal and called to set up an appointment to have an issue with my furnace addressed. Appt was set for 12-2, Friday 1/9/15. By 2pm no one had called or showed up. I left a message at the office and received a call back approximately 10 minutes later. Bill, One of the owners, explained that one of their techs had called in sick but that no one was notified because they thought there was a possibility he would still make it in. I expressed my frustration at having had to waste three hours of my time a top having to leave work early and asked bill if I could get a refund on my yelp deal. Bill said he did not know if they offered refunds but said he would happily refund my money if I sent him an email. He followed that up by saying that he was hoping to have an opportunity to correct their mistake and conduct the service as planned. I told him two very specific times that would work with my schedule. They were able to accommodate the request and bill said he was going to "see what he could do" to further rectify my dissatisfaction. They were able to send out Sean, another tech, the very next day. Sean was pleasant, thorough, and fixed the problem with my furnace. Furthermore they discounted my service for the Friday inconvenience. I am very hard to please when it comes to righting wrongs in regard to poor customer service. But I was pleased with their ultimate efforts and plan to use their services again in the future. read more

These guys installed a new furnace for me recently, and I would highly recommend them. Gus came out very quickly after I called to give me a free estimate, and talked about exactly how he wanted to set up the furnace for optimal performance in my house. I got quotes from 3 other companies and Controlling Systems was not only the cheapest, but I also felt like Gus really cared about making sure that I was going to get the best setup. The installation was done quickly and professionally, and I am very happy that I hired them for the work. read more

My furnace needed regular maintenance. Weary of large companies trying to sell me memberships (and convince me to replace fully functioning appliances), I tried Controlling Systems. I was able to get an appt for the next day. The technician, Gus, showed up within the time window, calling first to update me on his arrival time. He was efficient. He told me a certain part was possibly starting to wear out, but assured me I could wait until it failed to replace it (rather than pressuring me into replacing it now). The price was reasonable. read more

Sean not only came bang at the beginning of the 2 hour window, but he was friendly and had a LOT of patience for all my questions and concerns. Rates are very reasonable and you receive far more personal service compared to some of the other large names out there - for much less cash. Would be very willing to use them again. read more

My AC unit wasn't cooling so I called Controlling Systems. I was told by the technician that he found a freeze stat inside coil and there was a blockage in evap coil inside the house and they recommended replacing for $1500.00. I had another company come out for a second opinion. They tightened electrical connections and cleaned air cooled condenser outside and now my ac works fabulous! It only cost me $95.00. I also had purchased the voucher on YELP for $35.00 for Controlling Systems only to be told you cant use it for the diagnostic which cost me $154.00. So now I'm out $35.00 plus the $154.00 for the incorrect diagnosis. read more

Here is my experience with Controlling Systems: I had a deadline to replace a furnace. I had a contract on my house and had to get a new furnace and flue ASAP after the buyer's inspector found problems with the old flue and furnace. The HVAC guy my realtor recommended highly was leaving town and couldn't do the job. I had used Controlling Systems once before on a rental property so I called them in for a bid. They looked at the job, said the flue needed to be replaced and the only way to do it was to install a 90% furnace that they could vent through the wall (a blatant falsehood I was later to discover. They just wanted to sell me the higher priced furnace.) They said they would pull a permit with the city and take care of the paperwork and inspections. Another lie. I needed the job done yesterday since I was under contract so I bit the bullet and signed the contract to replace the furnace. The day they showed up to do the work they informed me that the heater would not fit through the crawl space door. They told me my options were: 1. cut a hole in the foundation. 2. remove the newly installed carpet and cut a hole in the floor in order to get the furnace into the crawlspace. A choice between two evils. With my closing a week away I had to make a choice and get it done. I let them cut a hole in the floor because at this point I figured if they messed with the foundation, knowing them now, they would probably undermine the foundation. They messed up the job and after they were done I had to go back in and reinforce the sagging floor that they caused. Also, the drain line for the furncace leaked water. And they never called for an inspection. No wonder! When I finally got the city inspector out he found code violations. Would I recommend Controlling Systems to a friend? No way! read more

Knowledgeable and honest A/C contractors are few and far between, and Controlling Systems (CS) is one of them. My system has had a leak for a few years, requiring an annual recharging. Previous contractors said they could not find the leak, and the entire system would have to be replaced. The CS technician offered an alternative, saying the leak was fairly small and a dye/leak seal compound could be added to help find and possibly stop the leak. It will likely take a year before it becomes apparent, if the substance doesn't stop it, but should save me from having to replace everything. Thanks Controlling Systems! read more

I had controlling system clean the hot-water heater and fix a kitchen valve in my house. It was easy to get hold of someone over the phone and schedule the service. Sean who did the work arrived a bit late but he called to inform me that he was running late. He was very patient with explaining everything and recommend maintenance, and I think he did a great job replacing the valve and flushing out the hot-water heater. He mentioned the heater is very old and may need replacement soon (I was told the same thing by the inspector of the house before). We left right after he finished his work and didn't return until the next evening. We came in the house and found the heater was draining out hot water and flooded our laundry room. I called Sean and he picked up immediately, gave me instruction to shut off the water to the heater. Then he squeezed in the repair next morning. It turned out the release valve was bad and it was replaced. It took a couple times that day to get it fixed. Sean then called my back later that week to quote me the repair, which was also very reasonable. Although the first time working with him wasn't as smooth as I expected, I do think Sean did a great job and he was very courteous. I won't be hesitate to schedule future services with them again. read more

I was so scared that I had to have my HVAC system coils completely replaced, because that's really expensive. I didn't have to do that and it was a quick repair... Just a washer! I had my repair done by one of the members of Controlling Systems. It did take two persons, but I was very happy with the outcome. The first wasn't so great but I was very happy with the second gentleman. I believe his name was Sean. He's was so nice an professional. The price was reasonable and he did teach me how to clean my system by myself. Great company! I would totally work with them again and I highly recommend them. read more

I loved these guys! Shawn was the tech who came to service the furnace. He was very friendly and informative. He taught me some great best practices to follow that will save us money on our energy bill. I have them a try and they work better than just kicking the furnace down in temperature during the summer. I highly recommend these guys! read more

Hard to find good Heating HVAC people. These guys are it

I was very pleased with the service I received from Controlling Systems. The technician was professional and informative. He arrived about 15-20 minutes into the two hour window I was told. I was very pleased with the service and they had a discount coupon I was able to use towards the service. I definitely plan on using them again in the future. read more

Controlling Systems installed our Amana unit 15 years ago and it has worked great. Had capacitor replaced twice but that's it. This time was going to have to wait 10 days because they are so busy, but had a cancellation and came 4 days earlier. Was really happy about that. All this high 90 degree weather. Sean, the tech has come out both times so that is nice knowing someone stays with the company. So all in all was so happy because thought for sure we were going to have to pay thousands for a new unit. You can trust them. They will only do what has to be done. Great to be cool and comfortable again. Will definitely always call them. read more

OUTSTANDING! It's obvious and a relief (after a few other underwhelming estimates) when an experienced professional - like Brent - provides a thorough examination of the house. He quickly designed an A/C system that could work with our existing forced-heat and duct work. The installation crew was equally professional, and very talented, making quick work of the task. Additionally, they were very pet-friendly, and mindful of the 2 dogs and the gate. A+ read more

I woke up at 5am to a 60 degree house. I left a message requesting service for today, and promptly received a call at 8.04am (business hours start at 8am) to confirm their service call. These folks delivered Great service! Brent and Ben made sure we understand what was broken and why, and made recommendations to make sure our furnace would run more efficiently. They were incredibly courteous. read more

Called Controlling Systems this morning with a freezing house and they were here within 2 hours to fix our furnace! Their technician Brent was very knowledgeable and courteous, honestly he took me to furnace school about 20 minutes! Having just purchased our home and feeling unaware of our HVAC I now feel very comfortable with where we stand and how to best proceed to avoid any further issues. All thanks to Controlling Systems, I will highly recommend them to any one. Thank you to your team and to Brent. read more

Sean came over right on time and cleaned and serviced our 19 year old systems. He told me the good and the bad and what might need to be repaired/replaced in the future but DIDN'T PUSH AT ALL TO REPLACE THE FURNACES BECAUSE THEY WORKED WELL - UNBELIEVABLE! Sean is incredibly knowledgeable about heating and cooling systems, and because we will eventually need our HVAC replaced we costed out several options. I couldn't believe how much information I was receiving from a technician that wasn't just smoke being blown my way - I will definitely use Controlling Systems again. read more

Fixed my issue for a few hundred dollars on a very old furnace instead of taking me for a ride and telling me I need a new one. Awesome service. Respectful and quick! read more

Our heater went out during the night and the house was frigid when we got up in the morning. My wife found Controlling Systems on Yelp and we bought a $75 dollar coupon for $35. I called and the service technician Gus arrived right on time. He had our heater up and running in no time. We were never so happy to have heat. Our sincerest thanks to Controlling Systems and Gus for a great job and a great price. We'll be using them from now on. read more

Bought the Yelp deal after our furnace stopped working. Gave them a call early in the morning and they were out within about 5 hours within the time window they stated. Our technician, Gus, diagnosed the problem quickly, got it repaired efficiently, and we're back to having heat! Very professional, courteous and prompt - would definitely recommend them and use again. read more

Quick response time, honest and fair service. Sean is great! I highly recommend and will use again. Call them.

What a great company! i have had my share of issues with central AC I had installed in 2004. Had service calls done about 5 or 6 times by original installer who was never really able to fix it and seemed fairly clueless about why it wasn't working properly. Finally after alot of internet research and checking out reviews I called Controlling Systems and spoke at length to Bill the owner. He said he would send me out his best guy Brent. He was "on time" which is impressive, but best of all after 2 hours of work he found and fixed the problem. It now works like it did when it was new for the first time in years. I am so grateful and it was worth every penny. Thanks again Brent. read more

This company is fantastic. We needed our old furnace replaced as well as duct work corrected. I can't imagine a more courteous and efficient crew out there. Job was completed in 1 day, our home was as clean when they left as when they came, the guys were incredibly polite, and their work was outstanding. Thank you. read more

Controlling Systems was able to come out the same week I called to service both my AC and furnace. Their prices for service are reasonable and the Yelp deal I purchased made it even more affordable. They even replaced the filters for me at no additional charge. I'd recommend them and use them again. read more

Sean was awesome, friendly, and pleasant. Cleaned the furnace easy schmeezy.

Very professional and courteous. We needed out furnaced tuned up, and although it also needs some repairs we were not pressured to fix it right away. We were told what was wrong and advised that we should start planning to replace the furnace, but the tech also said he has seen furnaces like ours last a few more years. His honesty was refreshing. read more

Furnace stopped working yesterday. I called Controlling Systems and Gus was out this morning. A pressure switch was dirty and he cleaned it up. Works now. Super easy and Gus was a great guy. I would recommend. read more

I called Controlling Systems because I was having some furnace issues in early May. We really don't need the heat now, but I figured I'd get it serviced now and not worry about it come winter. Sean showed up on a Saturday and was very knowledgeable, patient with all my questions, and efficient with his time. They rolled their diagnostic fee into the hour service that was needed to fix my problem. Great service at a great price. Don't hesitate to call these guys. read more

These guys came and installed a unit from the request of our contractor. They installed one of the units incorrectly and it burned up the motor. They had to come and install a whole new motor. All the while our home smelled like burnt hair. Not once did they say "hey we are sorry." They installed one of the drainage lines that actually drained out all over our house and window. I have attempted to get them to correct this and they completely blew me off. These guys are completely unprofessional. If you are looking for quality, skilled professionals, I would never use these guys. read more

Super nice guys, they came round the next day, which is great considering it's their busiest time of year. Other companies I tried were running at 4 days. Gus diagnosed the problem within a minute. He had all the prices written down in a file, including labor. Very transparent. Really nice guy. Also gave me great advice on how to keep the furnace clean and also the water tank. Prices were good. Much much better than that other local company beginning with an A. Will definitely use these guys again. Highly recommended. read more

No heat 3:00 on a Saturday in the middle of a snowstorm, yikes! Called three companies--still waiting to hear from the first two and Controlling Systems has already been here, fixed the furnace, and left! Sean was terrific--called me back immediately and coached me through a couple simple quick tests I could do myself BEFORE he came out here to make sure he was needed. Got here when he said he would, checked & doublechecked everything, didn't try to upsell me into a service plan, and was pleasant throughout. I asked THIS furnace company for a sticker to put on the furnace and will call them again. read more

We have used Controlling Systems for a number of years for our heating and A/C systems with good result. Our system had a problem and was difficult to fix. We have an older home with older wiring. After a stumble, Controlling Systems came through again! They worked hard and long, fixed the problem at a fair price. read more
