I compared three landscapers and their price was the most reasonable. The owner, Isaias, and his team were professional, friendly, and had a great sense of humor. I had Isaiahs come over and clean up weeds maybe three times but the last time his worker hacked…read moreand broke with a shovel my irrigation line. But I didn't find out till later when the planter box was all flooded like a lake and overflowing like a river to the street. I found the broken PVC right where I instructed his worker to plant an agave fior me. When I told Isaiah's TFH Landscaping that his worker broke the sprinkler line, ISAIAHs said he would send the worker over to do the repair in a couple days which Isaias said was Tuesday, the worker never showed up. When I called him to say the worker never showed up he said he would come in a couple days and he personally will come and be there. Well Isaias never showed up. What's worse is he used to answer the phone on the first ring and was "always there for me" and even said "You know I am always here for you and I answer the phone". But after he didn't show up two times he wasn't answering the phone anymore .... ever. I left many, many messages telling Isaias I was disappointed that not only does he not show up to do the repair that his worker broke, but he deliberately is ghosting me for weeks. He sees from caller ID it is me calling for him to repair something he damaged (I sent pictures of the hacked irrigation pipe in the hole where the agave got blown outta there from the broken line), so he deliberately does not answer the phone ever again to BE THERE FOR MEEEEE, like he told me previously. That deserves 1 Yelp star. So you think I'm going to do business with him if he doesn't even answer the phone ever? Someone told me "because they don't get paid to repair their mistakes and have to take time out from already paying jobs to go to a job that doesn't pay. I never spoke to Isaias again because he didn't care to come back ad fix the broken pipe his worker hacked to pieces. That deserves 1 Yelp star don't you think? I have a new landscaper who has many solid 5 Yelp stars, and so far he has shown up every time I needed him, right on time, even when he squeezed me in. But I have no experience if he will show up to fix something he didn't do right, because nothing like that has happened so far.

After getting to the end of my rope and coming to terms with the fact the systems needed to be redone, I reached out to Chad at Piped Right via a referral. Chad got back to me in short order to set up a time and date for them to come out for an estimate. When they arrived I walked them through the current state, pain points, and what we were looking for as an outcome. They were very receptive and easy to consult with. At the end of our dialog Chad provided a total time and materials amount that the job would cost which was very agreeable, all with a 3 year warranty! They were also extremely easy to work with on the start date. We concluded by him relaying that he would draw up the formal quote with scope of work and get it sent over. The SOW was very, very thorough and impressive for any type of contractor. From the beginning to the end of the job, Chad and his crew clearly and consistently communicated on arrival and departure times, progress, status, challenges found, etc. They also kept an extremely clean worksite, straightening up at the end of each and every day. The result was everything we hoped for: - A completely revamped drip irrigation system in both our yards. - Refreshed gravel in both yards. - Leveled spots in the yards from previously removed plants. - Existing plants and stumps were identified for removal. - Staged drip lines in requested spots for future plants. We have engaged other irrigation companies in the past with significantly unimpressive results. Piped Right was the absolute, diametrically opposite experience. We wanted something minimalist, clean, and easy to care for. He took measurements and gave us some suggestions. He even took the time to meet and walk us through a nursery to help us choose plants that fit our vision, and his recommendations turned out perfect. The crew worked fast, even in the Arizona heat and a few days of rain, and the quality of their work really shows. They absolutely transformed our backyard with new irrigation, pavers to lengthen our patio area, new rock, a small grass for our dog and baby, and landscaping, and we couldn't be happier with how it turned out. They stayed on schedule, kept the work area clean, paid attention to the details and gave suggestions as they went. Gerson kept us updated with photos even while we were out of town for a few days and they were working. Plus, had to get HOA approval for a pergola - never fun, but finally got through that. Second contact was Ali toward the end with the irrigation and plants. Easy to deal with. Once the contract was signed, they indicated 2-3 weeks to begin, and that was accurate. Supply delivery began about five days prior to commencing work. The initial crew wasted no time getting to work. They kept the premises clean. Everyone professional. Quality: All I can say, is so far so good! Nice paver work, Pergola looks great. Electrical all appears properly done. Turf looks great. We are very happy with the results. Everyone cleaned up after themselves. Delays: none of any consequence. He came up with a creative design for our backyard that provided more privacy; an entertainment space with a bar, tv, fire pit; and an outdoor kitchen. He asks questions to understand what your needs are and how you envision yourself using your yard to come up with a 3-D rendering of your ideal space. Sean has an eye for design and thinks of the big picture and the small details. We had to wait several months for the crew to start, but in my mind that was a good sign that Envirogreen was well sought after. They were worth the wait! Envirogreen has their own crews, instead of a bunch of subcontractors. Their crew, led by Abraham, was punctual, reliable, and hardworking. They showed up 5-6 days a week and worked long days until our project was complete. This kind of work ethic and reliability is so rare these days. Sean communicated with us throughout the entire process and his insights allowed us to make some decisions to improve the original plan as needed (i.e.- installed one bigger propane tank to serve our smoker, grill, fire pit, and indoor stove instead of added another smaller one). The experts at Controlled Rain, Josh and Ken installed my irrigation system a few years ago at a very reasonable price. Their honesty and integrity is outstanding and whenever I have a question or need anything relating to my irrigation system, they respond promptly. I'm living out of state now and called them to see if they could send someone over to shut off one of the valves in a flower bed that was hitting my garage wall and without hesitation, Ken went right over and shut it off. They explain everything fully so that you understand and they provide authentic, honest and quick service. Where I've had challenges with Arizona contractors in the past regarding service, I've not experienced any issues with Controlled Rain. I can't say enough wonderful things about them. This is the best company for sprinkler repairs and installations. Carol who answers the phones is very friendly and gets a service call scheduled right away. Jason is the one we usually get and explains the whole process and adds in some friendly conversation. Eric is also someone that comes by and also explains everything. I would highly recommend Controlled Rain. I have used them multiple times over the last few years to fix a few different issues we have had with the houses original 20 year old irrigation system. Luckily my wife saw a trailer with a company called VIP IRRIGATION, so we called them at 5pm expecting them to say minimum a couple of days, but by 7pm they were at our house fixing everything. They told us they were going to go home for the day, but after hearing what happened to us they couldn't just go home, how nice is that, now that is customer service! SO BEWARE IF THEY ARE THAT BAD AT SOMETHING SO TRIVIAL AS OPENING A IRRIGATION SYSTEM (WHICH THEY CHARGE MUCH MORE THEN VIP TO DO) IMAGINE WHAT THEY WILL DO WITH LANDSCAPING, I KNOW ONE THING, I WOULD NEVER TRUST A COMPANY THAT RUDE AND WITH SUCH BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE! The crew installed the system very quickly and knew exactly what they were doing. They installed my Rachio system I had already bought in my garage. After a lot of trenching and digging, the lines were in, along with a valves connecting to my hose/water source. The rock was dumped in 2 loads since it was such a large quantity. 2 guys from the crew worked hard over 2-3 days shoveling it into our front yard. He pulls out the tubes and parts and shows you the system you will get. Most people show up and say, "Sure, PVC, $2,500" and that's it. A big reason I chose him was that I understood the scope of work and what I was getting. Everyone else was just vague and gave me a number. He's precise with the work. Everything was mapped out, no mistakes, no confusion, no "oops" that often come with home renovation. You wouldn't know he was there except for the little nozzles all over my garden and shrubs that weren't there before. All I had to do was set the schedule for the timer when he was done. Everything around was cleaned and left in the condition it was in before. I highly recommend him. Professional and good workmanship.
