We have a maintenance contract with Dial One Sonshine for our HVAC and water heater. They have…read morealways been good at calling for the regular maintenance and have been very thorough in their maintenance and noting any problems and letting us know. This time, inspecting the water heater (which is 11 years old), most things checked out as OK, but with their camera that goes into the tank, there was a lot of mineral deposits noted and those deposits are affecting the capacity and the ability to be effective. They said I should get a new water heater. It is still usable, but could go out anytime, and there could have problems in leaks. I was given the cost of replacing our heater. I had not planned on it, but in considering the likelihood of upcoming problems, decided to do so. They worked with me on the price, and it was installed the next day. The technicians who came out to check and do maintenance were James and Jesse. As I said, they were very thorough to check the heater, check the water flow throughout the house, and in their communications. I would have them come to my house again. The person who installed it was Allen and he installed it well, gave me all new needed attachments, and even after he was done, I asked him to do one more thing. Without hesitation he did that, which took another 20 minutes. He did everything right. I would have him come back if I needed something else installed. I am very pleased with Dial One Sunshine and with the people sent out to do their service calls and work. I recommend the company and those workers.

He turned it off and said he had to wait until it thawed. He cam back out the next day and said the unit they installed just 5 yrs ago obviously has a leak and could be diagnosed for leak, but that they suggest replacing the whole thing, cooler and heater for $18k!! Saying that even if diagnostics and repair of leak, there is no guarantee and may end up costing more. Another option, replace the cooling system only and not the heater, would be only $14k!! Upon further inquisition, and explaining, the unit they installed just 5 yrs ago is expected to last longer than 5 yrs, they tried explaining it's like a car, sometimes they last a long time and sometimes, they don't. But hello, they have lemon laws! They went on the further explain that they were under new ownership with new employees and all and that they had to replace the unit and at our cost, they would not keep warranty, saying that it was not under some California state regulations anymore. Then said they will talk with new owners and get back to us. We sent him on his way and got a second opinion first thing next day. With over 30 yrs experience, quickly identified the leak, and the problem was fixed in 10 minutes at a very minimal cost!! Turned on, working, blowing cold air! I will let you make your own assessment!

Another toilet was running every few hours, probably because a seal in the flap wasn't working. My appointment was between 1:00-3:00 and I did get a call because the guy was running late. Found out he was also coming from LA and it was pouring rain really hard, so I couldn't fault him for that. Bo was respectful and removed his shoes when coming in. I showed him both toilets and (the reason for one less star) was his immediate diagnosis was to replace my old toilet, at $300 just for the unit, without labor. Hey I'm asking to have a slow leak replaced, plus my toilet isn't dumping water in my bathroom. It's a slow drip. After saying no to 2 new toilets, Bo said the leaky toilet has a loose connection and the other running one could have the flap replaced. The whole thing took about 20 minutes to fix and I was charged $225, and I wrote a check and tipped him also. (Note: always write a check- never use cash- so you have a paper trail). Was it priced high? Maybe. But if he fixed the issue then it was worth it. Hopefully no update on this issue will be needed. Also no receipt for this issue was received. Update It's been 24 hours and my running toilet has stopped running, and my leaky toilet stopped leaking. So I am glad that Lots fixed it. I also received an invoice via email with a quick summary of what was fixed.

They saved the day by showing up in about 1.5 hours--way faster than any other place I called, since everyone else was talking about later that day or even tomorrow. Before wrapping up for the night, they made sure our main water was back on so we'd have service until they came back the next morning. They were super professional and genuinely cared about our health and safety. They went the extra mile to double-check that the corroded galvanized line wasn't connected to our main house water. These guys busted their tails in the sweltering heat, digging up a huge section of the garden to make sure they didn't miss a thing. Even with all that labor, they tracked the problem to one small spot and charged a super reasonable price. To top it off, they even replanted everything they dug up!

They worked hard, paid attention to detail, and approached everything with a strong problem solving mindset. We were on a tight timeline with other home projects, and they consistently showed persistence, often working from morning to late at night. They completed a full bathroom remodel, including demolition, a new tub and wall system, toilet replacements, and sink and faucet upgrades, along with plumbing work for the shower valve and drain. They also handled a full repipe, repaired a cracked sewer line, and installed a Moen smart water monitoring system. During the repipe, they identified and resolved additional issues right away. Jose, the lead, really stood out. He was communicative, easy to reach, and consistently straightforward. Our home had nonstandard elements, and he took the time to carefully research and source the right solutions to ensure everything was done properly. He operates with strong integrity, is fair with pricing, and never upsells. He tells you exactly what you need, no pressure. Would absolutely use them again.

GET A SECOND OPINION BEFORE SPENDING THOUSANDS WITH ECONOAIR…read more Our experience with EconoAir was extremely disappointing, and I strongly recommend getting a second opinion before authorizing any major repair. My wife works for Costco, and when we needed a second opinion on an HVAC repair in March 2025, we chose EconoAir because they are part of the Costco HVAC program in Yorba Linda. We trusted that association and believed we were dealing with a reputable company. In March 2025, EconoAir replaced the control board on our HVAC system. We also signed up for their maintenance program, paying $19.99 every month, with scheduled summer and winter maintenance visits. Then came August 24, 2026. Our A/C stopped cooling and was blowing room-temperature air. We called EconoAir, and a technician came out the next day. Here's where our experience took a very disappointing turn. The technician told us that we needed: * New A/C coils * A new PVC gravity drain, because we were told our system supposedly did not have one * Total cost: $5,995 And because we were in the middle of a heatwave, we were particularly concerned to learn that the work couldn't be done until September 1 -- about a week later. I decided to get an independent second opinion from a friend who is an experienced HVAC technician. Thankfully, I did. His assessment was completely different. He inspected the system and told us that there was nothing wrong with our A/C coils. Instead, he identified the problem as being related to the control board that EconoAir had installed approximately a year and a half earlier. He also confirmed something else that was very concerning: our system does have a drain pan, contrary to what we had been told by the EconoAir technician. So we were looking at a $5,995 repair based on a diagnosis that our independent HVAC technician disputed. Needless to say, we cancelled the $5,995 project, submitted the Notice of Cancellation, and cancelled our $19.99/month maintenance agreement with EconoAir. And yes, we will still have to pay the $99 diagnostic fee for the service call. The Costco connection is what makes this especially disappointing. We specifically chose EconoAir because of its association with Costco. We believed that being part of the Costco HVAC program gave us an additional level of confidence. Unfortunately, our experience did not live up to those expectations. What is particularly troubling to me is that EconoAir had installed the control board in our system approximately a year and a half earlier. When the system subsequently stopped cooling, we were told that the coils needed to be replaced at a cost of nearly $6,000. Had I simply accepted the diagnosis and authorized the work, we could have spent $5,995 on repairs that our independent HVAC technician said were unnecessary. My advice to other homeowners: GET A SECOND OPINION. Especially when you're being told that you need thousands of dollars in repairs. Our second opinion potentially saved us nearly $6,000. I'm not claiming that every EconoAir technician or every EconoAir job is the same. I'm sharing exactly what happened to us so that other homeowners can make an informed decision. For us, the experience resulted in a complete loss of confidence in EconoAir. After this experience, we cancelled both the proposed repair and our maintenance agreement. One star because Yelp doesn't allow zero.

Following a camera inspection and receipt of a competitive estimate from Bert, I hired First Option Plumbing to remove cast iron drainage pipes concealed in the walls of my home. On the day of the re-piping job, Bert and his team of plumbers arrived on time and wearing professional uniforms. After placing protective booties over their shoes, they immediately placed multiple protective coverings on all floor surfaces and taped large plastic tarps along the ceilings and walls to minimize dust and debris. Then they removed the cast iron drainage pipes from several bathroom areas, laundry area, work sink and kitchen. After each cast iron pipe was removed, a brand new ABS drainage pipe was installed in its place. When they were done with the work, they cleaned-up each worksite and didn't leave any of the old cast iron pipes or debris behind. TL/DR: Bert and his plumbing team completed all of the re-piping work efficiently and very quickly. VALUE. I was very satisfied with Bert's plumbing services - highly recommended - thank you!
